Chapter 56-Cleaning up
Abby walks over to Otan and checks the stump where his hand used to be. She had sent Nyko and Jackson away so they could help clear the bodies. After checking on Otan, she walks over to Billy. Lexa had also left after Abby took a blood pint from here and hooked it up for Billy. Abby looked at Billy and could see his skin was returning to its natural color. She had cleaned the blood off of him already. She walks to the front of the tent. Gustus stood to the side, and she could see Raven sitting up against a crate. "Raven," Abby says. Raven looks up at her. "You can go sit with him. I'm going to go check on the minor injuries. I'll make sure Jackson is close by. If anything happens, get me," Abby tells Raven, who nods as she goes into the tent. Raven sits down in the chair and grabs Billy's hand.
"Wait up soon, please," Raven says. Octavia and Murphy pick up a body and put it on the wood stack.
"Why are we doing this?" Murphy asks her.
"We are burning the bodies. The grounders believe it is a way for the souls to be released to the next life," Octavia says to Murphy, who nods. They go over to another body and pick it up. "I never expected my life to end up like this," Octavia says.
"Me either. I expected to be in the skybox waiting to be floated," Murphy says as they throw another body down.
"I was waiting to be floated too, Murphy," Octavia says. Murphy looks at her.
"You didn't commit a crime, Octavia. I did. You shouldn't have been locked up for being born," Murphy tells her. "But that doesn't mean I'm not glad you were arrested. Cause if you weren't. You wouldn't be down here with us, and this would have been harder without you," Murphy says to her. Octavia smiles at Murphy.
"Thank you, Murphy," Octavia says. Murphy nods as they start to pick the bodies up. Abby looks at the cuts on Lincoln.
"I have had worse," Lincoln says.
"Good for you," Abby says as she checks his back. "You should be fine, Lincoln," Abby says. After Lincoln doesn't say anything, Abby follows his train of sight and sees Octavia and Lincoln. "You okay?" Abby asks the grounder man, who nods.
"Yes, I haven't seen her smile much since the dropship," Lincoln says.
"She's had a lot on her plate. Right now, even though she is moving bodies. She gets to talk to a friend," Abby says as she watches them. "Lincoln, can I ask you a question?" Lincoln gives a silent nod. "What attracted you to Octavia?" Abby asks Lincoln.
"She was strong and beautiful. She never gave up and she put others before herself," Lincoln tells the woman.
"Do you love her?" Abby asks. Lincoln looks at her.
"I believe I do," Lincoln says as he looks at the younger Blake.
"Lincoln, I guess what I am trying to ask is if you are watching Octavia because you are glad she is smiling or because she might start to get feelings for Murphy," Abby says to Lincoln before she leaves. Lincoln looks at her as she walks away before he looks back at Octavia and Murphy. Raven sat in the medical tent when Roy came into the tent. He looks at her and gives her a nod.
"Didn't expect to see you here," Raven says.
"The last thing I said to him was every person in Mount Weather that died would be on him," Roy says. Raven looks at him.
"Yeah, well, I hope you realized something," Raven says.
"I'm an asshole," Roy says.
"That and that you don't understand that he did what he did to protect the hundred. He did what Lexa asked," Raven says.
"Yeah, tell me if he wakes up," Roy says to Raven, who nods as she leaves. Roy walks away from his tent and over to his mother and Claire. Claire had been hit in the face and got a few cuts, and Jade was cleaning it.
"You okay, sweetie?" Jade asks her son, who nods.
"Yeah, Just a few scraps. Nothing to waste supplies over," Roy tells her. Jade nods.
"How is he doing?" Claire asks Roy.
"He's recovering," Roy says.
"He's lucky he survived. Most people would have died from a wound like that," Claire says.
"He's not out of the clear yet. There is still a chance this kills him," Roy tells his girlfriend. Kane helps Byrne move the guard's bodies to a fire stack. Kane looks past Byrne and over to the medical tent.
"Kane," Byrne says. Kane looks at her. "Go check on him. We can handle this," Byrne says. Kane nods as he walks into camp and into the tent. He sees Raven sleeping. He shakes the woman who looks at him.
"Go rest, Raven. I'll watch him," Kane tells her.
"I don't want to leave," Raven says.
"Then don't. Lay on one of the beds. Take a nap," Kane tells Raven, who nods as she gets out of the chair and lays down on the bed. Kane sits down and looks at him. He looks back at Raven and sees she was sleeping. He looks back at Billy. "If you need to, let go," Kane says. "We'll be okay," Kane says as he walks Billy's stomach go up and down. "We'll be okay," Kane leans back. Emori walks in and looks at Kane. She walks over to her brother.
"Do you know anybody who has ever lost a limp?" Emori asks Kane.
"No, we didn't have those problems on the Ark," Kane tells the grounder, who nods. "He'll be okay, Emori. Your brother is strong," Kane tells Emori as she sits down. Lexa was lying in bed after Clarke had ordered her to stay in bed. The door opens as Clarke walks in with a tray of food and water. Lexa smiles at her as Clarke hands her the trey.
"How is it going out there?" Lexa asks.
"We are making progress. We should be done by tomorrow night. We'll burn the bodies then and get back to work in the next two days," Clarke tells Lexa as she sits on the bed.
"Billy or Otan, wake up yet?" Lexa asks.
"No, but my mom said that both of them were doing better. She's more worried about Billy than Otan. She said he should be okay," Clarke tells Lexa as she sits down by her. Clarke lays her head down on Lexa's shoulder.
"Shouldn't you be helping?" Lexa asks her.
"They'll be okay for a little while," Clarke tells Lexa.
"How long do we have?" Lexa asks Clarke as she puts the tray down.
"An hour before someone comes looking," Clarke tells her. Lexa smiles as she kisses Clarke and climbs on her lap. Luna and Anya sit down in their bed.
"We have another day of moving bodies tomorrow," Anya says.
"That usually isn't our job," Luna says.
"Yeah, well, Alpha station doesn't have a tone of people," Anya says as she takes her boots off. "Clarke went into her room an hour before the rest of us did. Lucky bitch is probably having fun," Luna smiles at her.
"You sound jealous, Anya," Luna says as she gets to the other side of the bed.
"I could use some of what Clarke is getting," Anya says. Luna smirks as she puts her mouth beside Anya's ear.
"I'm always here for that," Luna says before she lays down. Anya looks at her for a moment before she lays down beside Luna. Octavia walks into her room and sees Lincoln sitting on the bed.
"I thought you'd be asleep," Octavia tells him as she takes her coat off.
"Octavia, do I make you happy?" Lincoln asks her. Octavia looks at him.
"Of course, Lincoln. Why would you ask that?" Octavia asks.
"Don't worry about it. I'm going to be sleeping in Nyko's room," Lincoln tells Octavia as he stands up and leaves the room. Octavia watches the door, shocked.
Murphy gets out of bed and goes to his door as there was a knock. He opens the door and looks at Octavia. "Lincoln just left, and I thought about going to Bellamy, but I really don't want to see anything with him and Emma," Octavia says.
"Come in," Murphy says. Octavia walks into the room and sits down on the bed. "Okay, from the top. What the hell happened?" Murphy asks as he sits down by her.
"Okay, I went into my room, and Lincoln asked me a weird question then left," Octavia says.
"Lincoln's mind probably isn't in the right place after everything. Just stay in here and tomorrow talk to him," Murphy tells Octavia, who nods as she lays down. Murphy lays down too and goes to sleep.
A/N Thanks for reading. I hope you guys like how I am doing the pairings. I feel like that is something Luna would say. I am trying my best to break Lincoln and Octavia up on good terms, and I think I am doing a pretty good job. Does anybody here have any other pairings for Lincoln. The next chapter will finish the aftermath of the battle and what will happen to Billy and Otan and check in with the other characters. As always, suggestions, ideas, and feedback are welcomed. Until next time.
