Ch56

So it turns out that if you live with two people who are unrelated to you and one is an attractive girl people will start talking. While he and Percy did get along with Calypso people always gave them looks when they passed by as if they were doing something naughty. Calypso was nice and all, and while he and Percy had to adjust some things in their cabin to accommodate a female Magnus actually was felt that he was starting to like Calypso as a friend.

Living with Grover wasn't bad as well, he helped out and had to explain things to him and Percy about living with women. At first it was a little awkward but after a few days he and Percy were getting used to Calypso. Yeah he and Percy had to change behind a curtain but Calypso made good cookies, planted a cool garden outside their cabin, and in general was pretty helpful.

The only problem was that the rest of the campers had this idea that other things were going on. One time he and Percy stayed up with Calypso and Grover to play a friendly game of poker, well it got a little late they found other campers listening to them from the side of the cabin expecting something else and were disappointed that they had clothes on. Then there was the time he answered the door without a shirt on and Calypso was in her underwear (long story) and had a very awkward conversation with Connor Stoll whose face turned red and said, "Nice, you guys are heroes," (a lot of guys said that about him and Percy lately).

Then there was his cousin. Annabeth was still seeing Percy; it was just that there was always this tension between them that was hard to explain. Annabeth seemed to be acting cold to Calypso most likely out of jealous though he noticed that she was trying her best to hold not take it out on him or Percy.

That day he along with Percy and Calypso were canoeing with the Athena and Demeter Cabins. It was pretty and Calypso really enjoyed doing it though throughout the entire time he noticed Annabeth looking at them as if wondering what they were doing.

"Hey Annabeth wait up," he called to his cousin when they finished.

Annabeth turned to him with a neutral expression on his face, "Hey Magnus what do you want?"

"Oh I was wondering if we can talk a bit," he said.

Annabeth sighed, "Fine but I have things to do so make it quick."

He nodded and the two started walking a bit away from other people, "So I take it you aren't fond of Calypso?"

He noticed that she clenched her fists and sighed, "I am trying to like her its just I find it difficult," she said through clenched teeth.

He sighed, "Annabeth you know Percy wouldn't cheat on you right? You should trust him more."

"I know Magnus and I am its just that I know she and Percy have history and after all I went through with Percy I don't want to be pushed aside," she said with a sigh.

He sighed as he looked at his cousin, " Well you should trust him some more. Besides, you honestly don't believe the rumors that are being said about us right?" He asked, he sometimes overheard them usually amounted to people thinking that he and Percy got it on with Calypso and had threesomes.

His cousin's face turned red, "No, of course not," though her tone did not sound convincing.

"Well they aren't true and besides she may get another offer today," he said.

"Another offer?" She asked curiously.

He nodded, "Yeah, we called Zoe a few nights ago and she wanted to come and speak with Calypso since they are sisters and all."

He swore his cousin's face lit up a bit, "Oh um that's nice."

"Yeah it is," he said as he looked around and made sure no one was around. He stepped close to his cousin and whispered, "Later come with me and Percy to my apartment in the city there are people I want you to meet."

Annabeth's eyes widened, "You mean your dad?" She asked in a hushed tone.

He nodded, "Yeah, and some other people too."

She nodded, "Ok I will. I should get going now I have things to do."

He nodded and they both went their separate ways. He headed towards the Poseidon Cabin and found Percy and Grover talking with Calypso inside. "Hey guys how are you all doing?" He asked as he walked in.

"Good Magnus how are you?" Percy asked.

"Good I just talked with Annabeth," he said.

Grover had an awkward look on his face. "Oh how is she doing?" Percy asked.

"Oh good I just told her about our plans for later," he said. "She said she will come with us."

"What plans?" Calypso asked

"Oh she is going to meet someone close to me later," he said.

Calypso smiled, "That's nice. I hope you and your cousin have a good time."

He nodded and they all got ready for lunch. They ate lunch together at the Poseidon table and ignored the curious looks the other campers were giving them. He sat next to Percy while Calypso and Grover sat across from them. He noticed Annabeth look at them occasionally but would avoid eye contact with them.

After lunch they received word that Zoe and Thalia had arrived. "Hey guys how are you doing?" He called out as he waved to them.

Thalia smiled at them, "Hey Magnus hey Percy this is Calypso?"

Calypso nodded, "Nice to meet you in person."

Zoe looked at Calypso and smiled, "It is nice to meet you sister. How are you enjoying your time here?"

Calypso smiled, "I have been enjoying it a lot. I am glad to be off that island for good."

"I imagine it must be good to be free. Now come I would like to speak to you in private," Zoe said. Calypso nodded and went off with her sister leaving him and Percy with Thalia.

"So how has Annabeth been taking her living with both of you?" Thalia asked.

He and Percy both rolled their eyes, "Oh don't even get us started with that," Percy said with a sigh. "She wasn't that happy to put it nicely."

Thalia laughed, "That's Annabeth alright."

"Hey Thalia you are here," Annabeth said as she ran up to her.

Thalia smiled at her, "Yeah Zoe wanted to talk with her sister Calypso."

He swore Annabeth's face lit up, "Really? That's nice, I hope it goes well."

You could be less obvious in you wanting her to leave He thought as he exchanged a look with Percy and Thalia who he believed both were thinking the same thought.

They chatted with Thalia for a while until Zoe and Calypso came back. "Percy I have to talk to you and Magnus about something," Calypso said with a sigh.

"What is it?" Percy asked though they both had a good idea of what she was going to say. Annabeth looked nervous and while she appeared busy they all knew she was hoping for a certain oath to be said.

Calypso smiled at both of them, "You are both my friends and I thank you both for your hospitality. However, I have decided to join my sister in the Hunters of Artemis."

Thalia had to elbow Annabeth as a smile spread across her face. "Really? Well if you want that we will support you," Percy said with a smile.

"Yeah you should do what you want," he said.

Calypso smiled at both of them, "Thank you both. I need a break from everything and want to explore the modern world. I have so many things to learn and frankly I am tired of waiting on a man," she said with a sigh. "Not that I cannot be friends with you both its just that I want a break from romance. I am tired of my destiny being attached to men and romance and I want to live my own life and explore the world and get to know myself."

Zoe nodded, "That is wise and there is nothing that states us hunters cannot have friendships with men, so long as they remain platonic."

Thalia nodded, "Yeah I mean I am still cool with Percy and Magnus. So are you ready to take the oath."

Calypso nodded, "I am," she said as she took a deep breath and began to recite the oath to Artemis. When she was tone her body was enveloped with a silver aura.

Zoe smiled at her, "There now you are a member of the Hunters of Artemis." Calypso smiled and hugged her sister.

Well that went well he thought as he looked at Percy who looked relieved and Annabeth who was very happy though probably for different reasons. After that Calypso packed up her few belongings and stayed in the Artemis Cabin with Zoe and Thalia.

Later that night he and Annabeth headed towards his apartment in the city. "So your dad has been paying for this place?" His cousin asked. Ever since Calypso left with the hunters she had been in a better mood.

"Yeah he has," he said as they approached his apartment.

He opened the door and was greeted by his Dad, "Hey Magnus nice to see you are alive," Frey said as he hugged him.

"Thanks dad," he said as he turned to his cousin who looked at his dad in shock. "Annabeth this is my dad Frey."

Frey smiled at Annabeth, "Nice to meet you. You are Athena's daughter right?"

Annabeth nodded, "Yeah, nice to meet you." His cousin appeared at a loss of words as she shook his dad's hand. "You are a Norse God?"

Frey nodded, "Yup, we usually have to keep ourselves separate from other pantheons for diplomatic reasons. Though I have interactions with the Greek and other pantheons."

"Wow how does that work?" Annabeth asked.

"Delicate diplomacy though we still have our fun together," Frey said with a laugh. Magnus then introduced his cousin to Hearth and Blitz who greeted her warmly along with Samirah who showed up to say hi.

They then sat down on his couch and he and Percy told her everything. From how he met Gunilla when he found Gram to meeting his father. He also talked about the things he and Percy did in order to prepare for the fight against Kronos. When he was done his cousin looked

"Wow that sounds amazing," Annabeth said with a sigh. "I cannot believe that there is an entire world outside of Olympus."

"Don't be surprised," Blitz said. "Who knows in the future you may run into other deities," he said with a wink.

They all laughed and enjoyed the food Blitz and Hearthstone prepared for them. Annabeth had packed her sleeping back so she would be sleeping on his couch while Percy would be going back to his mom's.

When the party subsided his father pulled him to the side, "You did a good job Magnus," he said with a smile.

"Thanks dad," he said. "Thanks for all of your help."

"No problem, Odin was a little pissed that I intervened but he knew that I was defending my domain in the end so nothing came of I," Frey said with a smile.

"Well I am glad you are not in trouble. How is Skirnir?" He asked.

"Good, only a handful of elves were injured. Skirnir spoke highly of you," Frey said with smile. "He and the other elves were impressed with your leadership and all of Asgard watched as you and your friend slew Fafnir."

"Thanks," he said. "I gave the vial of blood and heart to Chiron is that alright?"

Frey nodded, "That is a good choice. Even in Asgard Chiron is highly respected." His father then looked around and his face turned serious. "Magnus there is something else I want to speak to you about, something important."

"What is it?" He asked as they both sat down on the couch.

Frey sighed, "Magnus, I didn't not want to talk about this in front of your cousin and friend since it would be interfering with their pantheon. But in the future the Greek world will face another threat."

"Another threat? From what?" He asked.

His father sighed, "I don't know if I should tell you because if I do you would have to swear not to tell either of them, because it is a serious thing that probably going to happen."

"What exactly is going to happen?" He asked.

"All I can say is this Magnus," Frey said with a sigh. "The Olympians don't keep their eggs in one basket and our people usually got along with their Greek forms more than their other form."

"Greek forms what do you mean by that?" He asked in confusion.

"I may explain later when the time is right. Just know this, when you go to San Francisco with your cousin and you find any demigod you don't know do not go near them," Frey said in a serious tone.

Magnus gulped as he felt the intensity in his father's eyes. "A-Alright but what is going on?"

"I'm not sure myself though I will say this you aren't the first of our children to work with the Olympians. One of our children who was a son of Tyr named Arminius chose us instead of Olympus and pushed their presence away from Germany," Frey said with a dark look on his face. "His actions were the first of many conflicts between Asgard and Olympus. Just be careful in the future, the problems within the Greek world are not over."

"I understand dad thank you," he said.

Frey smiled at him, "You are welcome. You made me proud and just to let you know even if you choose to remain in the Greek world I will accept your decision and support you."

Magnus felt his eyes widen, "Thanks dad."

"No problem son you really do remind me of your mother. She would have been proud of you," Frey said. "Now go on to bed and enjoy your time with your friends while you can," he said. He nodded and thanked his father as he disappeared.

Annabeth was like a sister to him and Percy was his best friend. He did not know what the future had instore for him but he would protect them both. After all, he was his cousin's protector and he would make sure she is safe at all costs.

Hera gripped her fists as she stared at the two goddesses in front of her. Freya and Frigg both were looking at her as they accepted the documents she gave them. "So do we have a deal?" She asked in a cool tone.

As much as she did not get along with these two goddesses now was not the time for petty grudges, soon there may be a conflict between the two camps and she needed allies to protect her family.

Frigg looked at the document and nodded, "Yes Lord Odin has agreed to the terms of this alliances."

Freya smiled at her, "Yes, we will come to the aid of your Greek children in case of conflict with your Roman children."

Hera nodded while maintaining a determined look on her face. In terms of international relations Juno and Hera were one and the same. "Good, I hope that all works out in the end." It was no secret that the Romans hated the Norse just as much if not more than their Greek children.

"Oh it will," Frigg said with a smile. "Though favoring one child over the other that's not like you Hera?"

She let out a sigh. "True but the Roman's outnumber the Greeks and your children used to protect our Greek children in the past."

"Yes that is true," Freya said with a smile. "Like the son of Frey is doing in your camp."

Hera nodded. They knew of Magnus Chase's lineage and had decided to accept him into their world. A wise move that will have its benefits in the future she thought. She knew she was playing with fire with this treaty and that her husband would be furious if he found out about it but it needed to be done. The more that can defend our children the better. A mother always tries to make things even with her children.

"But anyway we won't have any problem helping so long as your husband doesn't mind us setting up a camp for our living children," Frigg said.

"He shouldn't," she said. "But if he does I will make him see reason." A key part of this treaty was the allowing of the Norse to establish a camp for their mortal children. They would most likely build it up north in Canada or New England but there would have to be a lot of diplomatic hoops to jump through to make sure that they weren't stepping on another pantheon's territory.

We don't have much influence up north and the Egyptians don't either. She had already spoken to her Egyptian counterpart and had already made a similar agreement. While she and Isis had issues in the past from what she gathered the issues with the Egyptian pantheon are over. Good thing they are finished with their civil war she thought. The Egyptians worked through their human hosts and Isis said that Ra would agree to the treaty and convince their human organization to defend their children.

Frigg and Freya nodded, "Good well then I am hoping our future cooperation will lead to many results. Do not worry our children will rise up in defense of your Greek children when the time comes."

Hera nodded, "Good I hope so too." The two Norse goddesses smiled before they all disappeared and returned to their respective pantheons.

She sighed once they were gone. Ra and Odin are on board, my husband will kill me if he finds out what I did but I cannot leave our Greek children to the mercy of our Roman children. They are outnumbered and will need all the help they can get if things get ugly.

She looked up at the sky and felt her heart beat increase. Magnus Chase in the past your people have defended our children in the future they might have to do it again.

Nico glared at Alex Fierro as they both stood before his father. The green haired demigod was healed of her injuries but still appeared cocky though her bright outfit looked singed. She had restraints on to prevent her from using her powers and looked as if she were bored. Is it safe to even bring her out? He knew that Alex Fierro was a child of Loki, a son of the Norse pantheon like Magnus Chase. Dad you are playing with fire.

"So Lord Hades," Alex said looking up at his dad. "What do you want me for? Are you planning on killing me or sending me back to my father?"

Nico watched his father stare at Alex as if he were debating some issue. "As much as I would like to send you to Tartarus for attempting to harm my last living son your half sister is my counterpart in the Norse pantheon and as much as I find her annoying I can't risk an incident with her for now."

He watched Alex raise an eyebrow. "So you are sending me to Hel?"

His father shook his head, "No. I figure that I can make you an offer."

"What kind of offer?" Alex asked curiously.

He watched his father eye them both, "I wish for you to work with my son. Both of you will conduct my errands and tasks."

"You want me to work with your son? Why should I?" She asked.

Yeah why? he thought. Nico couldn't help but feel annoyed by the green haired girl, not just because she attempted to kill him. She acts like she knows my secret, as if she could know of my suffering. He was so scared that she would figure him out and tell Magnus who would tell Percy. Though Magnus doesn't seem like a bad guy. He hated to admit it but deep down he knew he was more jealous of Magnus's relationship with Percy than Percy's relationship with Annabeth. Though he didn't know why but he felt that he could trust Magnus, he always had this warm aspect to him. He looks at men the same way he looks at women a small voice in his head said but he blocked it out, he didn't need those thoughts now. Magnus was a person who wanted him around, who wasn't completely creeped out by him which was something. Yeah he was annoyed about Annabeth and Percy being a thing but Mangus always made an effort to talk to him, in part because Magnus wanted to give his cousin and Percy privacy.

Hades looked at them both with a neutral look, "If you do I will give you an incentive. I can fashion a device that will keep your father out of your head, you would also be free to live here where he cannot reach you."

Alex looked like she was not sure of how to respond. "What do you want me to do?"

"Just some errands. Conflict will come in the future I can tell that you will be a valuable person to have by my side," Hades said.

Alex sighed, "Fine its not like I have anything else going for me right now."

"Good," his father said. "Be warned I will not tolerate treason and if you harm my son you will be going to Tartarus. I will need you to swear on the Styx to not harm him or betray us."

Alex nodded, "I swear on your River Styx that I will not betray or harm you or your son."

Hades nodded, "Good now I have a room available for you next to Nico's room."

He rolled his eyes as he looked at Alex who smiled at him. "So we are going to be working together huh?" She said extending a hand

He shook the hand. "Yeah we will." Hopefully we can work well.

AN: So we are done. Thank you all for supporting me on this story I really did enjoy writing it even though it got a little larger than I expected. For now I kind of need a break so if and when i write a sequel it won't be for a while sorry.

For now I will probably finish my Bianca lives AU and take a small break from fanfiction, I will write when I can but I only want to put up stories that are mostly done. I do have other Percy Jackson AU ideas but for now I will take a small break.

I thought about giving Calypso her own cabin but in the end I decided the hunt would be a good end for her character arc since she would retain her immortality and learn of the modern world while choosing her own life instead of having it tied to a man

I know a lot of people wanted Magnus to hook up with Will, Nico, or Percy but I decided I will keep his relationships platonic but who knows I may give him someone in the sequel if I write it but I don't know if I'll give him a harem of guys since the story won't be M rated, unless people want him to have a harem thing lol.

A lot of people have been asking for Magnus to be paired with Leo, I didn't know that ship was a thing to be honest.

Anyway thank you all for supporting me in this story I hope to write again in the future for the PJO fandom. If you have any ideas for the sequel let me know
