A.N. — I'm on a roll with doing drabbles about adults, because the school-age folks will peter out long before the grown-ups do. This lady is another character highlighting Black History Month. Sadly, she didn't have a single line in the books. Also, thanks to Authorforeverything for the many reviews. I do love hearing feedback.

56. Aurora Sinistra

Aurora Sinistra thought she'd make a far better head for Slytherin than Snape. Not that many would contradict her. There was one issue holding the respected astronomer back from advancement: her nocturnal nature.

Astronomy classes were held at midnight, and Aurora spent the time after them doing her grading and lesson planning. She went to bed around dawn, waking in time for the occasional afternoon lecture when practical lessons proved impossible. This made Aurora's student office hours haphazard at best. And what kind of Head would she be if she wasn't available for her students whenever necessary? Snape, that's who.
