Beside her, he dozed, oblivious to the goings-on around them. The sun struck the silver of his hair, a beacon of light and reflected off the metal of a toy katana that lay on the ground at his side. If she looked closely enough, she could see the beginnings of callouses on his hands.
Stifling a giggle, she tied the two ends she was working with together and added it carefully to the much larger piece at her knees. Done, Kagome stood quietly and lifted the blanket of flowers she had tied together through most of the morning and ever-so carefully, covered him with it. It matched the coronet of daisy's she had already placed on his slumbering head.
