Cosmic Crisis
(Third-person POV)
*A teenage human male (18 yrs old) with with ginger hair & blue eyes wearing a white lab coat over a cream long sleeve turtleneck, blue jeans & brown shoes was standing on front of what looked like a portal with a swirl of rainbow colors inside*
(Chris' POV)
*I was standing in front of teleporter that I had made to take me to Mobius. I had left a note for my friends & family on my desk*
Chris: Dear Mom and Dad and everybody, I'm sorry to leave without saying goodbye. I knew if I said anything, you'd try and stop me from trying to travel to Sonic and Ayla's world. It's very important to me.
So I hope you'll understand. Don't worry, I'll be fine. And, I'll be back. I'll miss you all. Mom, and Dad, Grandpa, Danny, Frances, and Helen.
I love you, Chris
PS: I'll tell Sonic and the others you said hello.
*As I stepped into the portal, I was surrounded by a bright white light. When the light died down, I saw Sonic, Ayla, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Cream, Cheese, & Shadow standing in front of me*
Ayla, Sonic, Shadow, & Knuckles: Hey, that's Chris!
Chris: It worked . . . I - I did it! I actually did it! Sonic! Ayla!
*I was about to run towards them when I tripped over something. I looked down at myself & saw that my clothes had gotten big on me*

(Ayla's POV)
*As the glow from the Master Emerald went down, I couldn't believe my eyes. Our friend from Earth, Christopher Thorndyke, was right in front of us*
Chris: What's going on? What's with my clothes? Did I shrink or something?
*One by one, all our friends went up to him*
Tails: Great to see ya, Chris.
Chris: Tails, it's you.
Cream: We really missed you.
Amy: It's about time you showed up.
Chris: Hey, Amy.
Knuckles: It's good to see ya.
*Shadow then went up to him*
Chris: Hi Shadow.
*Shadow then got a small smile on his face*
Shadow: It's good to see you again, kid.
*While everyone else was talking, Cosmo turned to me & Sonic*
Cosmo: Sonic, Ayla, who is that boy.
Sonic: He's our friend.
Ayla: A very close friend.
*Chris looked up at us & smiled*
Chris: Hi Sonic, Ayla . . .
*Sonic gave him a thumbs up*
Sonic: How you doing, pal?
Ayla: It's good to see you again.
*Chris slowly walked towards us*
Chris: Sonic . . . Ayla . . . I can't believe I'm really here! It's been a long time coming.
Ayla: Well . . . I don't know about a long time.
Sonic: We knew you'd get here sooner or later, buddy!
Chris: You two haven't changed a bit *he turned around & looked back at the others* Come to think of it, none of you have.
*He then looked at Cosmo & nodded in hello. She nodded back*
Sonic: Doesn't look like you changed much either, except for the baggy clothes. Is that some new style or something?
Chris: No, I don't know what's going on . . .
*Suddenly, Sonic fainted*
Ayla & Chris: Sonic!
Amy: Sonic, what's wrong!?
*She & everyone else ran over to him*
Cream: What happened?
Knuckles: Say something!
Amy: Why isn't he waking up.
*Tails put a hand on his forehead*
Tails: He's okay. I think he's just exhausted.
Knuckles: Yeah, I guess he still has to recover from that battle.
Chris: Sonic got injured in a battle?
Shadow: It's a long story, kid.
*We all went back to Cream's house. While Vanilla was putting Sonic to bed, Cosmo told us everything she knew. I stood behind the couch where Amy & Knuckles were sitting with Shadow*
Cosmo: Your friends Sonic was fighting against a Metarex
Amy: A Metarex?
Cosmo: I don't know how many there are, but they've been attacking planets all over the galaxy. Their goal is to unify all the planets under one absolute rule.
Knuckles: Let me guess, their rule?
Cosmo: That's right. They've already extinguished so many planets.
Ayla: What do you mean, extinguished?
Cosmo: The Metarex don't just conquer planets, they take the Planet Eggs.
Shadow: The what?
Cosmo: The Planet Eggs are like the hearts of planets. Without them, planets lose their power to nurture and sustain life. They become just cold, barren rocks, drifting through space. And now that they've taken your Planet Egg, your world will soon wither away just like the others have.
Amy: Our planet will die?
Cosmo: That's right.
Knuckles: Excuse my asking, but how do we know you're not on their side? OW!
*He had just gotten hit on the head, courtesy of me*
Ayla: Knuckles! Does this girl look like an evil alien invader to you!?
*Cosmo stood up from her chair*
Cosmo: She's right, I'm not! The Metarex are vicious, and they'll wipe out anything that gets in their way. I am NOT with them, you have to believe me.
Knuckles: I wish I could.
Chris: At least let's hear her out.
Cosmo: I came here so that what happened to me might not happen to all of you. My planet is gone. Everyone I loved, my family, my friends . . . Everything! Everything is gone!
*She broke down in tears. I went to her & gave her a hug. She wrapped her arms around me & cried on my shoulder*
*A few minutes later, we decided to give her some time alone. Me, Tails, Amy, & Chris were standing in the hallway. Knuckles went back to the Master Emerald*
Chris: She's calmed down a little. I think she'll be okay.
Amy: I can't believe Knuckles was giving that poor thing such a hard time!
Tails: I can't believe you built a teleporting machine in only six months.
Chris: Only six months! *he closed his eyes & looked down in shame* No wonder you all look exactly as I remember you.
*The three of us looked at him confused*
Tails:*whispering* Chris is acting kind of funny, Amy.
Amy:*whispering* Don't forget, he's human.
Chris: Back home, it's been six years since I saw you! I guess I still have a lot to learn about teleportation.
Ayla: Six years? *in her mind* So six months on Mobius is six years on Earth. Weird. Well, Dr. Bickley did say our worlds had different timelines.
Tails: If it's been six years, how come you still look the same?
Chris: I'm just as confused as you are, Tails.
Amy: We'll figure it out. *we all decided to go to the room Sonic was resting in. but when we got there . . .* Sonic's gone!
Tails: Oh no!
Chris: He must've gone out the window!
Amy: He doesn't even say goodbye!
Ayla:*sigh* Well, that's my brother for you.
Tails: Yeah. No matter what, he just takes off. He can't even stay still when he's passed out
Chris: I'm just glad he's okay.
*Later, I was with Chris & Vanilla in the living room. She was holding some clothes that looked like what Chris wore the last time we saw him (a red white, & yellow t-shirt over a black shirt, blue pants, white socks, & blue & yellow shoes)*
Vanilla: These should fit a little better. They're like your old clothes, aren't they?
Chris: They sure are. Thanks.
*While he was changing, I decided to ask him some questions*
Ayla: So Chris, how have Tyler, Izzy, & Jake have been doing these past "six years"?
Chris: Oh yeah. They're doing fine. After you left, they immediately started auditions to find a singer to take your place.
Ayla: Did they find someone?
Chris: They did. A girl about their age named Annie. She was a good singer & knew all your songs, but it just wasn't the same. After all four of them graduated high school, they decided to break up the band & just focus on getting through college.
Ayla: Did they all graduate?
Chris: Yep. Tyler's now running his own music store, Izzy's a middle school gym couch and Jake's a highschool chemistry teacher.
Ayla: Wow. Good for them. *Chris then came out of the room he was changing in* Looking good.
Chris: Thanks.
Ayla: I'm going to go check on Cream, Cheese, & Cosmo, kay?
Chris: Okay.
*I found Cream & Cheese playing outside. Cosmo was standing nearby*
Cosmo: Such a pretty place.
Cream: I'm glad you like it, our planet's great. Maybe you can learn to love it here.
Cosmo: Maybe.
Cheese: Chao-Chao Chao!
*Her smile the changed into a worried frown*
Ayla: Still worried about the Planet Egg?
Cosmo: Yes. If we don't get it back -
Cream: We will. We've got Sonic and Ayla on our side. They'll make everything okay.
Cheese: Chao-Chao!
Cosmo: But Cream, Sonic and Ayla aren't strong without the Chaos Emeralds.
*My brother then came racing in*
Sonic: Well then, I'll guess we'll just have to go find them.
Cosmo: I wish you had them now.
Sonic: Maybe there was something we could've done instead of sending the Chaos Emeralds away, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
*I glared at him*
Ayla: Oh really?
*Sonic held his hands up in defense*
Sonic: Hey, at least he didn't get the Emeralds.
Ayla: True.
*The others came outside*
Tails: You must've been pretty wiped out after fighting that thing.
Sonic: I was. When I transformed into Super Sonic, I thought it'd be a cinch, but boy, was I wrong.
Cosmo: Sonic, Ayla. Listen. The Metarex are extremely powerful. They've traveled through space and taken every egg from every planet they've encountered.
Sonic: There's nothing to worry about as long as Sonic is on the scene, Cosmo. I'll get all the Planet Eggs back. We promise
Ayla: I'm coming too. Somebody has to keep an eye on you.
Sonic: Gee, thanks.
Amy: A dangerous quest in outer space, could anything be more romantic?
Cream: Cheese and I wouldn't miss an adventure like this.
Tails: You can count me in, Sonic!
Chris: I wanna go too. I've been waiting six years to have another adventure with you!
Sonic: Great, then it's settled. We're going into outer space!
*We all then turned to Shadow, who was standing nearby*
Ayla: What about you, Shadow?
*Shadow was silent for a few moments*
Shadow: Very well. If your gonna be watching Sonic, someone has to keep an eye on you.
*My face almost went completely red at that*
*Later, we were all underneath Tails' workshop*
Chris: Tails, to go into space, won't we need a spaceship?
*Tails giggled & pressed a button*
Tails: Ta da!
*The lights came on, revealing a giant white, blue, & yellow ship. We all gasped in surprise. Sonic let out an impressed whistle*
Amy & Cream: It's so big!
Tails: It's a multi-purpose, fully mobile Flying Fortress! I call it the Blue Typhoon, and with a few quick adjustments, it can even fly into space. Only . . .
Chris: Only what?
Tails: I was planning on using the Chaos Emeralds as the power source. Now what are we gonna use?
*We thought for a little bit, & then an idea popped into my head*
Ayla: I know what we can use!
*My idea was that we use the Master Emerald. Sonic & I went to Angel Island. Knuckles wasn't there when we arrived, so we decided to help ourselves. We took it back to the Blue Typhoon*
Tails: The readings look good, Chris.
Chris: The Master Emerald oughta give us enough power to go interstellar!
*I turned to Shadow, who was standing next to me*
Ayla: You think we should find Knuckles and tell him what's going on?
Shadow: No need. Here he comes now.
*He pointed behind me. I looked & sure enough, Knuckles was running towards us, looking furious*
Knuckles: WHAT'S THE IDEA!?
Sonic: We're gonna borrow your Master Emerald for a little while.
Knuckles: No way, it goes back where it was!
Amy: But we need it to go into outer space.
Knuckles: Outer space?
Cosmo: We have to find the seven Chaos Emeralds so we have enough power to defeat Metarex.
Cream: We're going to travel across the galaxy, battle Metarex, and save planets! Doesn't it sound like the best adventure ever.
Knuckles: It sounds just peachy. *to Sonic* Now gimme back that Emerald, Sonic, or I'll come up there and take it!
*Cream got angry (which rarely happens)*
Cream: Listen to you! You should be ashamed!
Cosmo: The fate of the entire galaxy is at stake.
Amy: But if you won't listen to reason . . . *Knuckles got scared when she brought out her hammer* Maybe I could knock some reason into you. It'd be a pleasure!
Knuckles: Hey, let's calm down! *all three of them pounced on him* Sonic, Ayla, please help me!
Sonic: I'd like to, but I don't get involved in fights I can't win. You're on your own.
Ayla: And you were kind of asking for it, buddy.
*We both winked at him. Soon we were all working together to get the Blue Typhoon ready to go into space. Knuckles even pitched in, despite grumbling the whole time*
*Later, me, Amy, Cream, & Cheese were all carrying shopping bags & boxes of food*
Amy: This should be the last of the supplies we have to haul from home. Of course now, we have to load everything onto the ship.
Cream: I can hardly believe it.
Ayla: Me neither. Soon we all be flying through -
*I stopped when I saw Cosmo sitting alone on a tree stump. We all went over to her*
Cream: Hi Cosmo.
Cheese: Chao-Chao.
*Cream put down two of the bags she was carrying*
Cream: Would you mind carrying these downhill, please?
Cosmo: Oh, okay.
*She stood up & picked up the two bags. But she seemed to be having a little trouble picking them up*
Ayla: Are you sure you can handle it?
Cosmo: I got it . . .
*She took a step, tripped & fell down the hill*
Cream: She doesn't have it.
*We winced at the crash we heard*
Ayla: Hey, you alright?
Cosmo: I'm . . . Okay.
*We all ran down the hill*
Cream: Cosmo!
Amy: Are you alright?
Cosmo: I think so . . .
*Suddenly, a shadow passed over us. Cosmo looked up & got really scared. We followed her gaze & saw a Metarex. It flew over & landed near Tails' workshop*
Cosmo: A Metarex . . .
*I frowned & put the bags I holding on the ground*
Ayla: You guys get back to the ship, I'm going to try and stop that thing.
*I got out my board & flew towards the Metarex*
Metarex Spike: FOLLOWING DIRECTIVE NUMBER ONE. DESTROY THE ENEMY SPACECRAFT. *It raised it's hands & launched lasers, but it missed* ADJUST FIRING ERROR. 296 TANGEN 8.
*Suddenly, a two blurs went past it. One blue & one red. Sonic bounced off it's head*
Shadow: Chaos Spear!
*He fired three spears at the Metarex.& The hit it square in the face. Knuckles then went charging in. He knocked it right off it's feet & straight into the ground. One of it's arms was sticking out*
Ayla: Aw! You guy's didn't save any for me!
Sonic: Gotta move fast next time, baby sis.
*I was about to yell at him for calling me a baby, when suddenly, a sword came out of it's arm & it dug itself out. We dodged as it sliced a tree in half*
Knuckles: I don't think we're gonna stop that thing this way!
Sonic: You're right. But we gotta try.
*The Metarex stood up*
Metarex Spike: IT IS FUTILE FOR YOU TO OPPOSE US. YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO LEAVE THIS PLANET ALIVE.
*We just kept dodging attacks. Sonic & I landed at the top of a tree*
Sonic: Hey, up here!
Ayla: Catch us if you can!
*The Metarex flew up to him. Knuckles then jumped on it's head & pounded it. He landed on the tree next to me & Sonic. Shadow threw another Chaos Spear & landed on the same tree. The Metarex got back up & looked up at us*
Knuckles: Huh? Hey, I think I finally stopped him.
*Suddenly, missiles appeared in it's chest*
Shadow: Guess again!
*The missiles were launched. We went up in the air & dodged them. Just then, Sonic & I saw the missiles were heading straight for the Blue Typhoon. But we destroyed them before they could reach it*
Sonic: It'd stink to get blasted out of the sky before we left the ground!
Ayla: You can say that again.
*One landed behind us. The Metarex came over the hill & fired lasers. Just then, it fell down into a hole. Probably Knuckles' handy work. Then I saw Cream & Cheese flying towards that area. The Metarex came back up & Sonic & I went into action. Sonic landed on it's head & I tried to slice it with my Ring Blades*
Sonic: Go on Knuckles, we got this guy!
Ayla: You just focus on getting the Master Emerald working! Now go!
*He nodded & flew back to the ship with Cream & Cheese. Sonic went in for a punch, Shadow landed a kick, & I sliced it with my Ring Blades. We all made multiple attacks on it*
Sonic: Hurry it up, guys!
Ayla: Any time now.
*Just then, everything started shaking. We all looked & saw the Blue Typhoon slowly rising out of the ground*
Metarex Spike: YOU ARE DOOMED.
*It launched more missiles*
Sonic: Great.
Shadow: Let's go!
*We all jumped towards the missiles & destroyed them. We then landed on the ship*
Sonic: It's been fun, but we have to be running along now.
Ayla: See you never!
*The Metarex flew towards us*
Tails:*off-screen* Sonic! We're gonna use the main cannon! Stand by! *a big blue cannon rose out of the ship* Transferring power from the energy chamber to the main cannon.
Chris:*off-screen* Cannon pressure sequence now in progress *Sonic ran into the cannon. Shadow & I went into the ship* Sequence complete. *The Metarex landed on front of us* Sonic, do your thing.
*The Metarex launched more missiles*
Tails, Chris, & Knuckles: SONIC POWER CANNON, FIRE!
*The launched my brother, who was in spin dash mode. He plowed through the missiles & went right through the Metarex. Destroying it. The blast sent Sonic flying away from us. Chris got in the X Tornado & flew after him. He caught Sonic & they made it back to the Blue Typhoon, safe & sound*
Tails: Excellent catch, guys! Now get ready. Retracting main cannon. *the cannon went back inside* Rerouting energy to the main engine. Forward wing deployed! Alright, Blue Typhoon . . . Here we go.
*Me & Shadow went up to the bridge. We ran into Amy, Cream, Cheese, & Cosmo. She, Cheese, Cosmo, & I looked out the window*
Cream: What a beautiful view, I've always wanted to know what our planet looked like from this side up.
*Sonic put his hand on his head & scratched. Then he pulled something out of his quills*
Sonic: I wonder what this is.
Tails: You wonder what what is?
Sonic: This thing on my head.
Ayla:*in her mind* I think I know who that belongs to.
*And that was how our adventure in space began*
