A/N:

I'm back kiddies! Sorry for the long wait! Life has been rough and idk how I'm still making it but here's another chapter.

Bottom Author's note I addressed a few things I'm sure some of you may have had opinions on and I mean no harm so if I sound defensive, I'm not. Just felt you guys deserve an explanation for why I write things a certain way.

Chapter 48:

Katara didn't know how to deal with what she discovered with Zuko. She knew it wasn't wise to tell Ozai or anyone of the family. As much as it was vital information, there was enough strife in the family as it was. All she could do was pretend she didn't know for now. Her attention was focused on Ryu and Mailan as Ozai had returned to the Phoenix Empire now that Zuko was well, leaving the little ones to have more time with her. Maybe once Ozai was reacclimated back in his empire then she could tell him but also convince him not to attack Zuko.

In the meantime, she wanted to not think about the negatives that plagued her life. There was far too much of that and besides, the kids wanted her to show them some waterbending moves. She was more than happy to demonstrate to them some of the cool but basic techniques she knew from her days of youth. First, Katara taught them how to make bubbles and then how to form a bubble large enough for them to stand in it. Ryu mastered it pretty quick as he was a little older and had more experience waterbending with his instructor but Mailan needed a little more help.

Crouching down beside Mailan, Katara took her daughter's hands and helped her form a bubble large enough for both of them. She eventually managed to pull it off and the two cheered.

"You only did it because you had help." Ryu folded his arms as he looked smugly at Mailan.

"No, mommy didn't help me all the way." Mailan said as she looked to her older brother. "I can do it by myself, see."

Katara stepped back to see Mailan create the bubble herself and this time it was far bigger. She smiled at her little waterbenders proudly. They were talented youth much like she was. However, she noticed Mailan's bubble iced over and shattered. Ryu looked surprised and rooted for his sister, telling her she was better than him because he couldn't use ice yet, asking her to teach him. Mailan happily showed him, this time pulling water from the grass under them. Then Ryu did the same which shocked Katara. The two went on to make ice bubbles together. She was really taken aback by them.

As she told the kids to continue practicing while she went to get snacks to bring back for them, Katara runs into Zuko and she tenses up immediately.

"You can always stay and Ryu's full time instructor." Zuko stated as he approached her with his arms behind his back.

Scowling at him as his talle form stood before her, looking very much like the Fire Lord she always pictured him to be. "I don't need to stay here to do that. As soon as all is said and done, I'll make sure to not let another one of my son's is corrupted by a piece of shit!"

"You're going to take my son from me, Katara?" Zuko's expression was flat.

Furrowing her brows, "I will teach him right from wrong! I won't have you feed him hate!"

"As if you're one to talk, Katara. You've become the most hateful of us all." Zuko narrowed his eyes and shoved her, "Your heart is as black as they come."

Stumbling back a little, Katara was about to retort something but Zuko beat her to it.

"Don't threaten me again, Tara. Not when it comes to my son." He bit out and pushed past her.

Katara turned and watched him walk off like he was all high and mighty. La, he was getting under her skin more and more. At least with Ozai, she'd expect that from him but Zuko, this wasn't like him and he didn't like it one bit. It infuriated her. She knew she was probably just tense and pent up. Sighing as she tried refocusing on getting snacks for the kids. I'll go see Ozai tonight. Maybe that would help. Just a friendly visit for old times' sake. But who was she kidding, she was going to fuck him.

…...

Returning home, Ozai was greeted by Kya and she practically had her face buried into his chest, hugging him tight. He knew something was up. Kya didn't hug him like this anymore. However, he wasn't going to say anything. Not yet at least. He left Mailan in the Fire Nation to spend more time with her mother and Ryu while he caught up on the latest updates in the country. Kya clung to his arm the entire time. Taking her to his office, Ozai asked to fill him in on only the important things that concern his involvement.

Kya laid a stack of paper in front of him, all petitions of the ministers, governors, and even a few noble households that wanted Zhiar punished for his crimes in an extremist group that jeopardized the people of the Phoenix Empire. Ozai flipped through the pages and sighed before pushing it aside.

"Anything else?"

Kya shook her head, "I took care of everything else. The documents concerning the projects, events, and meetings I oversaw are in your top drawer." She told him confidently.

Ozai raised a brow and leaned back, "Where's Uhara?"

Averting her stare, "Doesn't matter."

"You kill him already?" Ozai snickered as he started looking through his desk drawers for his pipe.

Kya sucked her teeth but didn't say anything.

Pipe in his mouth, Ozai lit the hilt of it and began smoking it. "What? He's cheating?"

"He left." She said simply.

"Left?" Ozai exhaled smoke. "Left how?"

Kya shrugged her shoulders, "He told me he had to leave and that he loved me but didn't say why. Just left."

"Well, did you stop him?" He raised a brow.

How was she supposed to stop Uhara from leaving? She couldn't even stop her mother from leaving. What could she do?

Ozai wasn't used to these sorts of situations. While he wasn't there in the early days of the twins' loves, he wasn't very involved in his oldest twos lives until they were teenagers and by then he learned they weren't marketable in the dating world. Plus, he sort of stole Zuko's girlfriend so...yeah. He was probably not the person to talk to and this is why he wished he could stop being a single father cause he literally had no 'good' advice to give. Especially to his daughter. All he could think was for her to go cry in her room until she felt better cause he wasn't going to give her the advice he'd give Zhiar, which was go fuck some whore until you forget the bitches name. Not that he was really following his own advice at the moment. Still pining for his ex.

Sighing, Ozai rubbed his temple and smoked more of his pipe before he figured out how best to deal with the situation.

Two hours later…

Laughing as he patted Kya on the back after she had gone into a coughing fit from smoking his pipe, Ozai offered her the bottle of gen they were sharing. He figured drugs and alcohol helped him through tough times, it would help her. Sure, it wouldn't win any father of the year awards but he had done worse and this was his best idea. Plus, Kya was an adult and she could have said no but she jumped at the opportunity. Just some good old fashioned father daughter bonding.

Kya tilted her head back as she tried to down as much of the gen as she could and that gasped as she brought it down, away from her lips. She could feel the alcohol hitting her but it was fine. She had gotten pretty high off of her father's pipe and she really wondered how he was able to be in his right mind with how much she saw him smoking this thing.

"I know I'm the last person to tell you this but you should focus on more important things. Now isn't the time to worry about your romantic relationship." Ozai told his daughter, smoking his pipe.

Nodding her head, "I thought you wanted me to marry Uhara."

"I still do but perhaps, now isn't the time. Not just because of our family drama but because you should live your life. You have forever to get married. Literally forever. I don't want you to end up like your mother missing out on life because you settled young and didn't get to live your life. Uhara can be gone for as long as he likes, that just means you can live your life in the meantime."

Kya nodded. That was probably the best advice her father has given her in a long time. She really did want to live her life beyond her romantic relationship. If Uhara wanted to be gone, that was fine, she'd continue living if that was the case. Plus, she felt her father was right about her mother. Despite her mother being in a bind with her father's evil (or more evil) twin brother, she saw her mother's eyes at the gala and could tell she was enjoying the thrill of it all. Plus, her father had several run-ins with her mother recently that resorted in them fighting and from what she could see from her father's memories when she touched him, her mother was having fun fighting him. Kya didn't want to turn out like that. She didn't like violence unless it was necessary. But her mother wasn't a violent person. Maybe she was just bored and this was her outlet.

Whatever it was. Kya didn't want to settle and miss out on life. She wanted to live life and enjoy what it had to offer her. Her father was right.

"So...what about you, dad?" Kya slouched beside him.

"What about me?" Ozai was staring up at the ceiling.

Shrugging, "Don't you think you should move on from mom? Even when she finds a way to get from under the influence of Atsou, she's going to want to live her life. I don't think you two will be getting back together any time soon."

Ozai had already figured that much out. It was clear to him that Katara didn't want to be held down by anyone. And that was fine. He tried not to be mad at her for it. He knew she deserved to make decisions for herself. However, as long as she helped out with the family affairs once she was free, he wouldn't have much criticism to throw her way. But in regards to him moving on, he had thought about it. Thought about it plenty.

"I know you like Ami." Kya pointed out.

The Phoenix King didn't respond to that. While he did find Ami attractive and enjoyed knowing she was an intellect, he wasn't sure. The woman was on the more of the mature side as far as appearances go. Not that he had a problem with that. He was just used to younger women or at least those that still appeared young. Immortality had its perks but realistically, whoever he was with, no matter how old or young they were, he'd watch them wilt as time went on while time didn't touch him anymore. If he was going to move on from Katara, he needed a relationship and not just another group of whores tangled in his silk sheets with him. Multiple trysts and women with nothing to offer him but their bodies were getting as old as he was. Ozai required more to be turned on and so far, the only person that was to his liking was Ami. He could see that happening.

Rubbing his temple as Kya passed him the gen bottle after taking a swing, "I thought you didn't want me with Ami."

"That was until I figured you and mom want different things. All I care about is the two of you being happy and if that's not together, then I'm sure there are other ways." Kya sighed seldomly.

"Ami is sort of upset with me." Ozai sighed as he suddenly felt pathetic. "She thinks your mother and I are getting back together."

Kya laughed, "What gave her that idea?"

Ozai didn't say anything again. Call him a dumbass but he always figured Katara was like him and would also have the desire to be together despite how much time went by or whatever might have taken place. But he was fine starting to think he might be wrong. Which was fine. At least that's what he kept telling himself.

"I don't want to talk about it." He said begrudgingly.

"If you're not ready to move on, fine. I mean you did have like several meltdowns over mom. Just trying to prevent another one." Kya laughed, trying to stand up but was way too wasted to keep from tumbling over.

Helping his daughter out, Ozai scooped her up and decided he'd carry her to her rooms. She told him how she was going to finally go see her in the morning. He agreed that she should. Kya didn't need to avoid her any longer. Getting to her room, Ozai laid his daughter in bed and tucked her in.

"I just want us all to be happy, dad." Kya said, yawning.

Nodding his head, "I know, Kya. Get some sleep. You're going to wake up feeling like shit but that's life."

"Night night, dad." Kya rolled over on her side and pulled her sheets over her head.

Ozai smiled and left her chambers.

….

When they were gone, Ozai headed to his chambers and decided to go to bed early. As he laid in bed, on his back with his hands resting on his middle, he had to say things were very uneventful. With Mailan in the Fire Nation with her mother, Kya wasted in her bed, Hama back in her frozen tundra, and Zhiar locked up in the dungeons, Ozai was finally alone. After being a husband since he was seventeen and a father since he was twenty, a total of forty-five years of this shit, he finally was getting to take a break from all of it. A smile nearly cracked on his lips as he shut his eyes. Finally...some peace and quiet.

But the quiet was soon replaced with the sound of wet footsteps that were leading out of his bathroom. Ozai sighed as he opened his eyes and looked to the left of him. And standing with a white robe hanging off her shoulders was Katara with her silver hair completely down. She was giving him an innocent look but from the looks of her he doubted she had innocent intentions. He decided not to say anything and just watch her. It wasn't long before she shedded the robe and let it fall to the floor, her naked form bathing in the moonlight. She pulled his covers back to climb in bed and straddle herself above him.

Ozai stared up at her as his hands instinctively went up her thighs to her hips, "You came a long way, waterbender. You think that's wise given your situation?"

Flipping her hair behind her, "You said you wanted a kiss." She braced herself against him as he shifted underneath her to sit up.

"You clearly didn't come here only to kiss me." He told her as one of his hands ran down the back of her head and his fingers curled around the ends of her hair.

"Because I know you want more." Katara wrapped her arms around his neck and grazed her lips against his. "So, I came crawling back just like you said."

Ozai smashed his lips to her and held her tight to him as she moved her hips above him, rubbing herself over his night trousers. He heard her moan as she felt him stiffen under her and quietly swore against her lips, wanting her to take him inside her already. She cupped his face and ran her fingers along the disfigurement of his face, not seeming the least bit bothered by them. That turned him on even more. He could look like a ghoul and she still treated him like a man. She gripped his hair tight in her hands as she invaded his mouth with her tongue. Agni, she even ran her tongue along his face as she kept grinding herself in his lap.

Eyes unable to decide if they wanted to close or stay open, Ozai watched the waterbender bite his bottom lip and pull on it. The little growl she gave him made him want to flip her over and give her exactly what she was making so obvious she wanted. Her hands soon eagerly moved down between them, fumbled with the tie of his trousers and pulled his throbbing length out. She purred as he stared lustfully at her, waiting for her to put him inside her.

Katara's blue eyes bore into his as she slipped the head of his cock into her wet folds and slowly sank down on him, taking him completely. She wore a still but seductive expression, her lips parting with a gasp as she didn't take her eyes off of him for a second. She saw Ozai look at her with a strain as he seemed to be holding back his temptation to thrust up into her. This was painfully agonizing for him but he was enjoying it. A part of him wanted her to draw this out and torture him with her slow movements. He could see she wanted to make him suffer and he welcomed it.

However...five minutes into her riding him at a pace that would give any man blue balls, Ozai was about to just grab her hips and thrust up into her but she held his wrists above his head. She smirked at him and decided to ride him a little harder but she switched her pace up repeatedly which only tormented him more because now he was literally on the verge of release with an agonizing withdrawal.

"Damn it, I can't take this anymore." Ozai said and rolled her under him before she could stop him. He fumbled with her hands as she tried to stop him and folded them against her chest as he started thrusting into her with a much more brutal vigor that she was not prepared for. "And since you want to toy with me so badly, I'll just end this now."

The waterbender below him shook her head, "No! Don't stop! Please, Ozai, don't!"

As much as he wanted to oblige her, he was about to blow his load the minute she sat on him, she was just going to have to wait till after he recovered from this.

"You shouldn't have teased me like that, Katara." He hissed as he began riding out his release into her. "Fuck, you shouldn't have done that."

Lying there with her ex-husband laying on top of her after only seven minutes of sex, evidence of his satisfaction spilling out from between her legs, Katara had to say….she had never been more disappointed in her life. There had been freakier things she had done to him and he never came that fast. Shit, they've had quickies longer than this. It seemed pretty intentional to her even though he was trying to convince her otherwise.

"Get your heavy ass off me." She tried not to sound so upset but it was hard not to.

Sitting off of her, Ozai brushed back his hair that had fallen in his face and could see he really pissed the waterbender off. He honestly didn't care. He thought it was cute. Especially her begging him not to cum yet. She had to know you didn't tell a man that and expect him not to. It only excited them more.

Positioning herself on her elbows, Katara planted her foot on his stomach, eyeing him as she moved it down to his flaccid member and nudged it with her toe.

Grabbing her foot and moving it away, "I don't do feet, sweetheart."

"Well I need you to do something because that was your worst performance." Katara kicked him in his chest and pushed him down on his back as she made her way to sit up in front of him. "I wonder what could get you back up and in the race again."

Ozai watched her place her hand on his dick and slowly move her hand further down. When her fingers stumbled to his ass, he grabbed her wrist quickly and glared at her.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?"

Tilting her head, "A man can touch you there but I can't?"

"That's a power dynamic that I'm not ready to have with you, sweetheart. You're much too full of yourself." Ozai let go of her hand.

Katara rolled her eyes and sighed as she laid herself against a pillow, cross her legs. Her arms were folded while she stared in disappointment at Ozai. This was the first time he let her down in bed and honestly, she thought he was doing it on purpose. Mostly, because he was trying his best not to laugh. She ignored him when he tried to cuddle up to her, resting his head in her lap as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

Nuzzling his head against her breasts, "You're treating me like I'm a piece of meat, Katara. That's not very nice."

"I had very specific intentions when I came here." Katara continued to pout. "I guess I'll go home and finish myself off."

"No." He squeezed her tight and shook his head.

Trying to pry his arms from around her, Katara was pushed down as her ex-husband moved himself over her and captured her lips. She didn't respond at first until she felt him move his hand between her thighs and travel up to her sex. A breathy gasp fled her lips as he thrusted two fingers into her wet pussy. With her mouth gaping, Ozai shoved his tongue into her mouth and fingered her harder. Her hands were soon cupping his ears and raking into his hair as her ice cold demeanor melted under him.

In twenty minutes, she had cum all over them, wetting his sheets and their bodies. But Ozai wasn't done. He used his tongue to clean her up and his fingers remained in her, pounding her little cunt out like she wanted. Katara cried out in pleasure as she gripped his hair in her fists and came again.

Ozai let her taste herself off his lips as he pulled her to sit up in the bed with him. She swung her legs around him when she felt he was hard again. Moaning in his mouth as he buried himself in her, Katara gasped while he held her tight against his body and thrusted up into her in their upward position. Her arms circled around his neck, her lips devoured his as he gripped her ass and thighs, thrusting into her deeper and deeper. She rolled her hips harder and harder, wanting him even deeper inside.

Pulling her hair back to expose her neck, Ozai ran his tongue along her bare throat and then bit into it. He listened to her scream his name, begging him for more. It seemed apparent to him that she was pent up. He smirked and forced her to look at him. She looked like she was on the verge of cumming again. Mouth parted as she panted, eyes gazing at him with the look of lust and the need of completion. Her skin was covered in sweat as it always was from the intensely hot sex they had. He loved watching her face contort when he stored himself deep inside her. It was evident that she had no lover better than him. He was confident of that.

"I'm going to cum." He told her as he stared up at her.

Nodding her head as she cupped his face and pressed her lips to his, "Me too." She said breathlessly.

"Don't get pregnant."

"I won't."

"I mean it." He said through his clenched teeth as he was at his limit.

Katara smashed her lips to his to shut him up.

Moments later, Ozai carried her to the bathroom and told her to clean herself out.

"Do your waterbending thingy and remove my seed."

"Umm...okay, can you leave?"

"I want to make sure."

"You're being ridiculous now, Ozai."

"You're prone to pregnancy. I'm not taking any more chances with you. " Ozai reminded her that while she only had four living children, she had technically been pregnant six times.

Katara furrowed her brows and bended his seed out of her, tossing it into the sink like it was nothing. "Happy now?"

"Very."

"Well, next time don't cum inside me if you're that troubled. Not that it would really matter, you're not the only one that doesn't want more children." Katara turned her back to him and roamed over to the counter with bath gel and soap. She was going to take a bath. Her skin was sticky from sweat. "After Mailan, I tied my 'tubes'. I was wise to do so. With all the things they did to me up there, I'd have had plenty more children after Mailan and I wouldn't know who the father was."

Ozai was bothered by the last statement. Just how many of those bastards forced themselves on her? Honestly, he didn't even want to think about that, it would only make him angrier.

After Katara bathed, she came out wearing a towel and saw him staring out the window. She tipped toed over to him and wrapped her arms around his middle, pressing her face to his bare back.

"You okay?"

"I'm tired." Ozai pinched his eyes shut. "You're welcomed to spend the night."

Nodding her head, "Is it okay if I leave midday tomorrow? I don't really want to go back in the morning."

There was something she wanted to tell him and he could tell she must have learned something troubling. He would ask her now to tell him but he was too tired to hear any bad news. Besides, the fact that she didn't come here to discuss it and was more interested in 'distracting' herself, he was sure she couldn't say much about it anyway. But he was curious nonetheless.

Taking her hands in his as they were holding to his abdomen, Ozai inhaled and hung his head. "We still have a friendly spar to settle a score. You plan to hold your end of the bargain if you lose?"

"I forfeit, Ozai. You win." Katara pressed her lips to his back before pulling away to get back in bed.

Ozai turned around to see her already under the covers, wiggling herself around to get comfortable, taking up most of the bed. She hugged a pillow to her head and patted the empty spot on the bed for him to join her. He really did miss little moments like this. Nothing outstandingly special about them. Just ordinary events that took place for anyone. Moments that were easily overlooked when they were recurrent but cherished when they seized to take place any longer. She didn't know how much her absence caused someone that was reliant on her presence to keep them from losing their sanity and she would never know. He planned to keep some things secret from her just like she kept things secret from him.

Obliging her, Ozai was in bed and forcefully moved her to the middle of the bed to give him more space on the bed. She curled up against his chest and propped her leg up on his thigh like she always used to. Her eyes shut and he listened to her sniff him.

"I swear you always smell so good." She murmured as she wiggled even closer to him.

Protectively placing his arm around her waist, the Phoenix King shut his eyes and a smile formed on his lips as he drifted off.

In the morning, Katara woke before Ozai did, which was rare. He must have really been tired. She loomed over him as he slept and played with the short ends of his hair. It really did look nice on him, though she did miss the long hair, and couldn't wait for it to grow back. As she caressed the man from his head to his torso, a knock came at the door and her eyes moved towards it. Who is it? She seemed genuinely curious and climbed out of bed. The waterbender grabbed Ozai's night robe and threw it over herself as she went to answer the door. As soon as she answered the door, she saw an Earth Kingdom woman standing there with a shocked look on her face.

A little caught off guard, Ami looked the silver haired woman up and down. From the woman's blue eyes and brown skin, she deduced this was the former spouse that returned from the dead. Spirits, she does look very young. Ami was aware that Lady Katara was five years her senior but looked like a twenty year old and not someone about to turn forty. Not a single wrinkle on her face. Just the perfect picture of youth and beauty. Never had Ami felt so inadequate in her life. No wonder the Phoenix King wasn't interested in her.

"Can I help you?" Katara asked, tilting her head to the side after she let the woman look her over for a silent minute.

Snapping out of it, Ami tried recovering herself but noticed that the woman was wearing a male night robe. She must have spent the night. Of course, she spent the night.

"Umm, I-I'm Ami. Princess Ami." The woman bowed awkwardly. "I'm also a scientist that works for the Phoenix King. I was hoping to speak with him about a project that is of the utmost importance. I don't mean to interrupt your morning."

"No worries, I'll wake him up. One sec." Katara told the woman and didn't bother shutting the door for privacy. Just left it wide open and as she went over to the bed, climbing in it over to Ozai.

Ami watched awkwardly from the doorway as the woman shook Ozai from his slumber. Her heart skipped a beat when she saw Ozai wake up in such an undignified fashion that she almost didn't think it was really him. His newly short hair was a mess and his torso was completely exposed. She bit her lip at this. Spirits, he looked so good for his age. Well of course, he's immortal.

Staggering out of bed as he was half asleep, Ozai held the side of his head as he stumbled to the doorway and saw Ami standing in the doorway with her green eyes focused on him.

"Your majesty." She bowed.

In a groggy mood from being woken up, "What is it?"

Lifting her head, Ami saw he had moved his hand over his to hide his disfigurement. "I-I've made a startling discovery and I need you to come by my lab as soon as possible. It's vital to someone like you."

"Mind just telling me what it is?" Ozai was leaning against the threshold about to doze off.

Ami swallowed hard and her eyes shifted to the woman standing by his bed, "It's private."

"Then you'll have to wait till some time late today. I have other matters to oversee of importance too. You'll have to forgive me."

Nodding her head, "Of course, your majesty. But please, do come by. You will want to see this."

Ozai shut the door once Ami left and turned around to evil eye Katara.

"Is she your girlfriend or something?" Katara walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his middle.

"Seeing as you two didn't have a nasty confrontation, no, she's not my girlfriend." Ozai was tired and wanted to go back to bed.

"I thought she was pretty enough for her to be your girlfriend."

"Doesn't mean she's my girlfriend."

"But you like her don't you?"

Ozai glared down at her. "What are you playing at?"

Katara shrugged and pulled away. "Just trying to play catch up here. I'm not exactly well informed about your personal life these days."

"Well, I don't have one outside the family."

"Figured." She sighed. "You should try being more friendly and scowl less. Might make more friends."

"Shut up." He grabbed her and took her over to the bed where he tossed her in it.

…..

Kya wasn't feeling the greatest but she prepared herself to see her mother today and honestly, she was excited. She just wanted to let her mother know she missed her and spend time with her. All she could think was how she should have done this sooner but Kya needed to give herself sometime before she faced her mother again. Things were a bit fucked at the gala and it bothered her still. However, she knew her mother had her hands tied and only did what she had to.

Arriving in her mother's room, Kya was surprised to see Zuko was in there and going through her mother's trunk of clothes. She raised a brow and folded her arms, just watching him toss her mother's things out like he was searching through them. It was strange but not as strange as when she saw him find her mother's panties and sniffed them before shoving them into his pocket. Are you fucking serious, Zuko? She thought Zhiar was weird but she was starting to think it was a family trait.

Deciding this was enough, "So whatcha up to, Zuko?" Kya leaned into the threshold of the bedroom.

Looking over his shoulders as he stopped what he was doing, "Just going through your mother's things." He said when he realized it was Kya. "Can never be too careful with her since she's working with the enemy but unlike our father, I'm not going to antagonize her."

"So sniffing and stealing her panties is going to give you better insight?" Kya asked as she tilted her head.

Zuko sighed as he closed the trunk and stood to his feet, "No, I was checking for weapons or letters. Her panties are simply a keepsake." He reapplied a little more honestly than either of them expected.

As much as Kya had always known Zuko was in love with her mother and had kept most of his feelings to himself for the sake of the family, it was still weird. She could never see her mother getting back with him. Not that her mother was too good for him but it was not something she wanted to see. Her brother and mother dating or worse, married. She was sure Zhiar would agree with her. However, she was the least cruel of her family members and Kya had always cared deeply about Zuko. He always looked out for her and was very brotherly towards her. They always got along so it was hard for her to say anything out of the way to him.

"I think my mother has been through alot, Zuko. When she gets back I think it would be best if you and dad allow her to rest easy without worrying about either of you fighting for her attention."

Zuko chuckled a little as he walked up to his younger sister and patted her head, smiling down at her.

"You know, even though you've grown up and matured, I still see you as a child at times." He snickered as he ran his hand over her hair a little as her gold eyes were on him, her lips curled in a small smile. "Especially when you are trying so hard to be an adult without any of the experience and understanding like me, your mother and our father." Kya's smile faded away as he went to kiss her forehead. "Stay a child, Kya. It's much safer for you that way."

When her older brother left, Kya was speechless, disbelieving of the chill he sent down her back. Zuko had never been cold. Not like that. His words might not have been cruel or harsh but his undertone and what those words meant, they were threatening. What was going on? Was her father right about her mother being dangerous? Did even Zuko, who had always been loyal to her mother, suddenly see the threat that was her mother? Kya knew she had to see her mother to confirm this. She had to know...was her mother truly a threat to their family?

Biting his lip as she kissed him hungrily, Katara ran her fingers all through his scalp and hair. La, she hated how much she missed him. Hated how much only he made her feel like this. Ozai always pissed her off when he said it but he was right, he was the best lover she ever had. Cocky bastard.

Not at all wanting her to stop, Ozai smirked as his waterbender continued trying to get him to take her on his desk. He was reluctant but only because he had a ton of work to get back to and Katara would keep him occupied for quite a bit, leaving him to finish work late into the night. It wouldn't be a problem normally but he was tired. Katara burned him out last night and she was likely going to do it again. She thought he was kidding about cumming too early last night but he was out of practice. Things had been too busy for him to rebuild his harem and honestly, he wasn't that interested in the idea at this time. Then there were the occasional women he'd bed and they were...not his type nor were they satisfying. They got the job done and that was it. Katara on the other hand. While he liked to tell her he was her best lover, she was his. No one was as needy and ready to keep up with him. She was an Agni damn succubus and he felt vulnerable to her.

As Ozai bit her back, trying to get her out of his lap so he could focus on his work, Katara wasn't taking no for an answer and slipped down his lap. The doors of his chambers opened while the waterbender was under his desk, unbuckling his pants while he tried to stop her without being noticed. A few councilmembers came into his office with delight to see the Phoenix King was back. Losing the discreet fight with Katara as she got to what she wanted and slipped his member into her mouth, Ozai clenched his teeth, appearing in a bad mood to his council, though it was honestly the opposite.

"Your majesty," They all bowed.

Tying his face mask back on, "What? What do you want?" He wanted them to get on with it.

"Your majesty, we are sure you are aware of the petition for your son's punishment after the destruction he and his gang of bandits has caused." One council stated.

"Y-yes." Ozai placed his hand over his mouth as he glared down at his desk.

The council eyed him strangely. The Phoenix King was not looking good nor did he sound it.

Clearing his throat, "Yes, well, do you know what you'll decide to do with him?"

Ozai shook his head as he bit into his fist and mentally cursed Katara for her skilled tongue, damn you, waterbender.

"Shall we suggest that you make a public announcement that your son will be exiled back to the Fire Nation?"

"Ye-ah! FUCK!" Ozai hissed as Katara bit him and he reached under the desk to yank her hair to get her to let go of his dick.

"Your majesty?!" The council members were taken aback.

"No! No exile!" Ozai groaned in pain.

All were confused as they saw the Phoenix King almost slam his own head into his desk. Something was wrong with the man. Terribly wrong. Could immortals get sick?

Calming down when the waterbender ran her tongue along his shaft apologetically, Ozai panted and held his hand over his face, feeling utterly embarrassed. His face had even turned a tint red. Oh, he was going to kill her as soon as these men left his office.

"Are you okay, your majesty?" The council all looked at the Phoenix King in worry.

Nodding his head, "I need a moment." He said as he was desperate to get them out of his office.

All bowed and turned to leaving, hoping the Phoenix King would feel better.

Once they were gone, Ozai moved his chair back and scowled at the waterbender as she climbed back into his lap. She cupped his face and giggled.

"Oh, you look so cute! Your face is all red!" Katara laughed as she rubbed her nose to his.

"Bend over the desk." He growled at her.

Smirking, Katara kissed his lips one last time before climbing out of his lap and bending over his desk. She wiggled her bottom causing him to pull her dress up and spank her. A small yelp came from her as she looked over her shoulder and saw he was still glaring at her.

"I'm not going to fuck you." Ozai tilted his head.

Disappointed, "Why?"

"You bit my dick." He said nonchalantly as he raked his nails along the bare skin of her ass, noticing it was turning her own. He then ran his finger over the seat of her panties, rubbing her wet sex as she spread her legs further apart, obviously wanting him to take her. Ozai mused at this and moved her panties to the side, dipping his middle finger into her aching pussy. She practically purred and fucked his finger back as he added another finger. Her juices were literally coating his hand, making him lick his lips and bite them.

Soon, Katara felt his warm breath heat the skin of her thighs as his large hands then spread her ass apart. Moaning quietly as she felt his tongue lick up from her clit to the opening of her sex where he stuck his tongue into it, the waterbender's eyes rolled to the back of her head. Oh fuck! His fingers then re-entered her, twisting as they buried themselves deeper into her while his tongue gave her clit some much needed attention.

Just as she was about to cum all over his face, Ozai bit her and she screamed until he let go, slapping her ass hard as he laughed.

"Oh, you horny waterbender, I feel like torturing you."

Katara pouted at him but decided it might be fun to drag things out a little.

Spanking her again, Ozai let his hand roam to the waistband of her panties and tugged at them, pulling them upward to give her a wedgie. The waterbender squeaked and turned around to slap him but he caught her hand, smirking up at her. He pulled her into his lap and wrapped his arms around her, pressing his lips to the back of her head.

"I missed you, Katara." He whispered. "Not just the sex."

"You sure?" She mused.

"I just miss you being around. Seeing your face and knowing you're alright."

The waterbender smiled weakly to herself as she let herself relax against him. She missed him too. Despite being a possessive horny evil jerk, Ozai really was a softy underneath it all, a soft cute jerk with a twisted sense of humor. Katara moved her head a little to get a glimpse of his face while he held her and saw his eyes were shut, pressing his face into the side of her hair. She reached to tug the tie of his face mask down and removed the mask, tossing it onto his desk. Her fingers then traced along his disfigurement, giggling when he bit the finger that went to touch his teeth through the opening of his jaw.

"You'll be seeing a lot more of me." She assured him.

Ozai nuzzled his head against her, "Does that mean we're going to end up fighting more?"

Katara nodded her head, caressing the side of his face and then reaching into his hair.

"Fine by me, waterbender. I enjoy getting a good excuse to plant your face into the floor."

Sitting up from his lap, Katara smirked as she turned around and leaned against his desk, placing her foot between his legs. "You know, there are other good excuses to plant my face into the floor."

"Pervert." Ozai tossed at her as he shooed her from his desk, needing to get back to his work that she was already putting him behind for.

Rolling her eyes, "I'll come back tonight."

"Can't get enough of me?"

"Shut up." She tossed at him as she pulled the water from the plants he had by the window and made a portal to return to the Fire Nation.

When she was gone, Ozai couldn't help but be in a good mood. His waterbender was back and they were on good terms now. Or at least, it felt like that seeing as she was open to having a casual sexual relationship with him. She wouldn't sleep with him willingly if she still hated him. It just wasn't the woman she was. Even if she was working with Atsou, he knew her reasons surrounded their children and him. Katara was quite loyal to him regardless of her personal feelings towards him. Such a good girl.

…..

Kya paced around her mother's room waiting for her mother to return. She hoped her mother hadn't gone to fight her father or wasn't gone back to wherever it was she was staying indefinitely with the enemy. All she wanted to do was see her mother and hug her tight. But she was a little nervous. She hadn't seen her mother in a while and the last time they saw each other, her mother knocked her out with a ball of ice to the head before fleeing. Plus, Zuko was acting weird as if something was up with her mother.

Stopping mid-pace, Kya sighed and flopped on the foot of her mother's bed. "Maybe she's just screwing around with dad."

"Is it always so obvious?" Katara said as she stepped out of her bathroom.

Standing to her feet, the princess looked to her mother with wide eyes as the woman walked up to her and smiled. Katara beamed at her eldest daughter. Kya didn't know how to respond other than to hug her mother without a second thought. "Mom!"

Hugging her daughter back, "How are you, my love?"

"I'm fine, mom." Kya stated as her mother pulled back to look her over. "I just came to see you and see how you were. Zuko said you were likely with dad last night when I showed up."

Katara averted her eyes as she laughed, "Yes, well, your father and I were just working out the bad blood is all. We haven't exactly been getting along lately."

Kya folded her arms and laughed as she shook her head, "So make up sex, I assume."

"I'm not talking to you about sex! You're my daughter!" Katara was hysterical.

"So? Dad caught me a few times and he was the one to encourage me making the first move on my boyf- Uhara." Kya said with a hint of lament.

Katara's eyes widened. She couldn't believe Ozai would push her to do that stuff, not to mention, she didn't like knowing her daughter was actually sexually active. What the hell, Ozai?!

"Anyway, mom, I'm a woman now. If dad isn't stressing it, then you shouldn't either."

It's hard not to. Katara had been through so much and hoped her daughter would never have the same stories as her when it came to sex. She hoped Kya was at least a willing participant and that no one ever forced her. La, the thought made her blood boil.

Seeing her mother's mind was going somewhere else, Kya took her hand and looked her in the eyes. She reassured her mother that she was fine and that her father kept her safe from those things happening. It eased her mother's mind a little she could see but she was thankful her mother cared that something could happen to her. Meant she was still herself and not some violent weapon her father kept trying to tell her she had become.

Feeling reassured, Katara reached out for her daughter's hair and smiled as she looked over her. "Tell me, how's that future husband of yours treating you?"

Kya's smile suddenly faded as she felt a little caught off guard. "Dad told you about him?"

Katara nodded. "He looked like a fine, young man. Even when I was trying to kill him, he was very respectful, self-sacrificing too. Means he really loves you."

I'm not so sure about that. Kya stated in her head as she rubbed her arm, "I'm not ready to get married right now. Uhara and I have forever to do so."

"I'm glad you said that. I don't want you making the same mistake I made. Sure, it was a different time and different circumstances and I don't regret all that happened, I know there was much I wanted to do before I ever got married." Katara told her daughter. "You're bright and you have the opportunity to see the world and live life to the fullest, you should do that. Marriage can wait. Find who you are first."

Kya nodded. "Thanks, mom." She was happy both her mother and father agreed on that one thing. They wanted her to live life and find herself before she committed to someone.

"Now, let's go. I was going to see your younger siblings to spend the day with them."

The princess took her mother's hand and went with her to see Ryu and Mailan.

….

Keeping his word to Ami, Ozai goes to her lab not far from the city limits and finds the woman sitting at her lab table with her hair tied in a ponytail as she looked over a few notes. He walked up behind her without making his presence known just to look over her shoulders to see what she was writing.

"Do you get off to scaring people, your majesty?" Ami asked as she continued jotting her notes down.

Smirking as he moved to her side, "If I said I do?"

Ami sighed as she put her quill down and turned to look up at the Phoenix King, "Your wife, she's very beautiful. I see why you've obsessed over her."

"Ex-wife and I have not obsessed over her." Ozai stated as he furrowed his brows, "Why is simply caring for someone else seen as an obsession?"

Shrugging as she stood up from her chair, "Perhaps because you're willing to hang on to the dead corpse that's your relationship. But it's not my place to speak on that, now, is it?"

No, it wasn't her place to bring any of this up. His relationship wasn't a dead corpse. He and Katara had a few rough patches but they were doing fine now. As fine as they could be given their situation. Katara was still a bit distant but he understood why. But their relationship was never a dead corpse. They just had issues from time to time. That didn't mean he was obsessed because he chose not to give up on her.

Moving on as she noticed the Phoenix King didn't want to discuss his personal life, Ami changed the conversation and redirected his attention to why she asked him her. The princess led him through her lab to the back room that she kept restricted from her staff and other scientists she worked with here in her lab. She closed and locked the door behind them. Afterwards, the two of them went to her bookshelf and pushed it out of the way, revealing a staircase that descended into the earth.

Ozai lit a white flame in his hand as they headed down the staircase. He figured whatever she had to show him was serious and perhaps dangerous. Whatever it was, he was excited to see it. Ami had a brilliant mind. She thought about the future and the possibilities that even his mind could not go. Once he had settled things with his twin brother and found stability in his life, he wanted to work with Ami on a few things. There were a lot of inventions he had thought up but he wanted her to brainstorm with him. Finally, there was someone he could collaborate with.

"I apologize for the long way down. I had to make sure this was buried deep and away from anyone that could misuse this discovery of mine." Ami explained as they continued descending down the staircase. "I had been working on this for years but it never seemed possible. Not until someone like you came along and showed us it wasn't impossible."

Curious, Ozai wondered what she was trying to tell him. "What is this discovery of yours?"

"Immortality." Ami paused and turned to look at the Phoenix King with an excited smile on her face.

Though the princess seemed excited about this, Ozai was anything but excited. This was definitely a dangerous discovery. Very dangerous. Immortality seemed like the achievement any normal person would want but as an immortal, the Phoenix King knew the consequences of it if the wrong person got a hold of it.

Reaching a door, Ami pulled out her key and unlocked it. As soon as they entered, the electricity turned on and brightened the room. It was a very large room and with cages that were covered in the back corners. Ozai saw she had a lab table with tons of items in the center of the room and that's where she took him. Once there, Ami removed the cloth she had over the tiny cage and showed him the three lizard mice that she was going to demonstrate her experiment on.

"Like I said before, I've been working on this for years. Started about two years before the war ended. So, I can tell you that there have been many slip ups and failures. However, upon the discovery that the tyrant Fire Lord was in fact immortal and that there were likely others like him with inhuman capabilities, I, too, made my discovery. Or rather a breakthrough." Ami pulled out a surgeon with a glowing green essences to it and held it for the Phoenix King to look at. "This is the first serum I created."

Ozai looked the surgeon over, trying to see if he could decode it but there was nothing in it he could make sense of.

Ami brought it to her first test subject and injected it with the serum. The two watched carefully to see what would happen and in seconds the lizard-rat convulsed, fume stirring from its mouth. Ozai watched with displeasure as the creature died, coughing up blood in its final stage of the serum and then falling limp. He was going to say something until he suddenly saw the rat get back up in an uncanny fashion, he could literally hear the bones of the little creature pop and crack. The lizard-rat turned its head to stare at them both and jump at the cage bar, screeching loudly as it tried attacking them. Ozai jumped back from this and Ami chuckled.

"This serum was my first success. However, it had many side effects as you can see." The princess explained that the subject injected with the first serum was still very much dead. However, it was reanimated as a mindless and flesh craving monster. It was only able to be killed with fire or beheading. The creature was also able to pass the effects of the serum on to another through biting, making this serum catastrophic if one of the creatures got loose or if the work hands got to her serum. Which is why she got rid of all creatures soon after testing them and coded her notes on it so that no one would know what it was. "It could be used as a bio-weapon. Talk about bringing the entire world to an end."

The Phoenix King burned the creature as soon as she asked him to but he had to admit, for something so dangerous, it was astonishing. The creature was technically dead but attacked like a beast. This was very fascinating. He was thankful that the woman knew the risks and dangers of her research and took the extra precautions necessary to prevent any chaos breaking out.

Going on to her second test subject, Ami showed Ozai the purple surgeon and injected it into her subject. "This serum is vastly different from the first and I came up with it two years after."

The lizard-rat's eyes glowed for a moment but went back to normal in an instance.

"The serum doesn't kill the subject. They are able to sustain themselves and I tested this on several lizard-rats, some to see longevity and others to see resilience." Ami pulled out a knife. "Those that were tested for longevity are still alive till this day which pass their natural life expectancy but they've aged and continue to age. They almost appear dead but are in fact, very much alive. As for the ones that were tested for resilience, they definitely proved my serum is a success."

Ozai watched the woman stab the rat and saw the rat was unaffected. It didn't even collapse or turn over.

"However," The princess started as she pulled the knife out. "They, too, experience some issues that were in need of fixing. The subjects feel nothing, their wounds don't heal rapidly, they show cannibalistic traits much like that first subject but only when hungry, they also age faster after enduring a fatal injury."

They moved on to the third and the surgeon of this one was red.

"This one is new. My discovery as of two days ago and I'm currently testing for consistency which so far, it shows the same in all my tested subjects."

This one was the perfect immortal thus far. It could be killed and live, no aging from its injuries, it could still feel, it healed rapidly, and no signs of cannibalistics traits. As for longevity, that was still being determined and would take a few years to know for sure.

Immensely astonished and amazed by this, Ozai patted the woman on her shoulder.

"You truly are amazing, Ami. You haven't even a clue. This is incredible." He said as he approached the third cage and put his finger to the cage.

Ami smiled warmly, "That's very flattering coming from you, your majesty. I knew I could only share this with you. Only you would be understanding of my research and not simply for your own advantages."

Ozai noticed the lizard-rat was very friendly and rubbed itself against his finger. "Have you tried this on something bigger?"

Nodding her head, "I have tested this on a silver-back tiger-dillo." She went to the corner of the room and pulled the linen off the cage to show him.

The beast growled at her but she assured him that the beast was naturally more aggressive than the lizard-rat, but it wasn't vicious like the first subject. It was simply a wild animal. Ozai approached the cage and the beast calmed down, even whimpered in his presence. The Phoenix King grinned as he crouched down in front of the cage and put his hand through the bars.

"Your majesty." Ami said worriedly.

But Ozai wasn't afraid of being bitten or attacked. It would just heal or grow back. The tiger-dillo purred as he patted it. "You're a good girl, aren't you?"

Ami found herself chuckling as the Phoenix King started getting friendly with the beast.

"Does she have to stay in this cage?" He asked over his shoulder as he continued patting the big kitty.

"Umm, I haven't been crazy enough to release her from her cage. It would be too dangerous. There's still so many areas to cover with this experiment. Longevity, fertility and if it can pass the effect on to offspring, and so much more."

Ozai cooed at the beast as it licked his hand, "What if I offer to help you in this research? We keep the details between us and I take Kiko with me."

"Kiko?"

"I never got to keep pets. Not that I was ever interested. But I wouldn't mind taking this pretty girl with me. Be one more woman in my life to hold me captive. Think she'll make my daughters jealous?"

The princess was taken aback by this. The Phoenix King really wanted this beast as his pet. Sure, it would be a fitting match for him. Something equally as dangerous and fearsome as him, plus it was immortal. But was it safe to let him take it? Not that he would be ill-fit to take care of the wild animal. It was just that, Ami didn't know if the animal would be friendly to the people he was around.

But who was she to deny him?

"Allow me to insure the beas- that Kiko won't pose a threat to others and she'll be all yours."

Ozai accepted this and let Kiko lick his face as he rubbed his masked face to her. "I guess we'll have to be patient, girl."

The tiger-dillo licked his face as she whimpered.

"I know." He cooed at her.

Ami really thought it was cute that the Phoenix King was so smitten with the wild beast.

"It'll only take a week."

"One week and you won't have to sleep down here and get sleep in daddy's bed.

…..….

"Like this." Katara sat in the grass of the garden with her three waterbenders sitting around her, showing them each how to bend the plants to move and make flower crowns. She giggled as Ryu and Mailan were trying to see who could make a more beautiful crown than the other. Kya laid her head on her shoulder while making her crown and was in a pleasant mood.

The four had been quite busy all day. Playing hide and seek as well as tag. They even played a game their mother had to teach them that involved a ball. It wore them all out in no time and all of them cheered when the servants brought out lunch. Kya and Ryu sat beside their mother while Mailan sat in her lap as they had lunch. Katara felt very much loved. She wished Zhiar could be here with them.

As Ryu and Mailan finished their crowns, the two ran around after each other while professing their crown was better. While the two played around, Kya laid in her mother's lap as her mother played in her hair.

"So what's with the white hair?" Kya asked as she had her eyes shut.

Sighing as she tilted her head and watched her two young ones running around, "When we sirens merge with our second souls, we become more powerful and our hair turns silver. Hama had silver hair before she fell into her sleep."

"And what about the Gala?" Kya asked.

Katara fell silent.

Sitting up, Kya looked at her mother and saw the woman staring back at her with an unreadable expression on her face.

"Look, mom, I-"

"I don't know how much your father told you but I'm not exactly acting of my free will. The gala amongst other incidents I'm involved and will be, are not of my choosing. Your father knows why my hands are tied. That I have to do these things because if I don't you and your siblings are fair game." Katara shut her eyes and sighed. "But it'd be a lie if I told you I don't find a thrill in getting to do these things. Many of my targets are people that have been my enemy for years."

Katara explained to her daughter that before she was a mother and a wife, she was a warrior fighting in a war that caused everyone great pain, even those that started the war. She lost her mother and many people she loved at a very young age. When hope came in the form of the Avatar, she did everything she could to be of use to see to it the war ended and that was enough to risk her life for.

"My friends and I, your older brother, we fought hard and fought endlessly. We gave up our innocence and filthied our hands for peace. Whatever it took, we gave, and eventually, I gave up everything I had to offer to make it so my people were safe and to spare your brother his life."

Marrying her oldest daughter's father was a necessary decision she made when it was offered to her and then siding with him in the war was only because she had two small children she had to protect. As life went on, Katara continued making the necessary decision and sacrifice when faced with challenges. Even if she was wrong or if she had to get her hands dirty or she had to subject herself to the whims of people that abused her, she did it all for a necessary cause. And just like she did everything she could to help end the war, Katara was doing everything she could to protect her family.

Opening her eyes as she ran her hand through her loose hair, "I want nothing more than to spend my time with you and your siblings. Being a mother was my dream and I always knew I would be able to be that once there was peace. Unfortunately, peace didn't come for us and our family when the war ended. We're still fighting for it."

Kya nodded, understanding her mother a lot better now that she explained her side of things.

"You may not be around as much as I want or I need but I know you've always tried to do what was best for our family. It's why I can forgive you and dad when you two do things that seem unjust at times. You're looking out for all of us because there are many that would like to see our ruin." Kya expressed.

As her father's ambassador for a short time, Kya saw that many hated the Fire Nation and hated her father. She was treated differently everywhere she went. Her father's enemies would always see her as her father's daughter and her father's allies looked at her like her mother's daughter. Despite her parents having been sided with each other for years, people still made the distinction between the two of them. Many saw her father as having ruined her mother and was doing all too well for a man that lost the war. Others saw her mother as a misguided slut that was loyal to her father and did his bidding. Kya heard a lot about how her father raped her mother or how her mother seduced her father. It had been frustrating and annoying.

But she knew the truth. Anyone that really knew her parents knew the truth. They were just people with opposing differences that went against the natural order of things and people from both sides were not happy with that. Water and Fire were enemies long before the war. The war only made things worse for people like them. Then there was the age gap and being on opposite sides of the war. Both being key figures in the last years of the war. No one could fathom why things turned out the way it did. Not even her parents. Over twenty years later and the relationship between her parents was at odds because of outside interference and opinions. A lot of people hated her family and would do them harm if not for the actions of both her parents.

Kya watched both her parents suffer greatly because of the division made between them. She knew her father would easily take her mother back because it had been years and he never moved on. As for her mother, it was debatable. She knew her mother loved her father but she always took a look at the bigger picture, and would sacrifice their relationship to protect them all. But if her mother didn't have to do those things, she was sure that she'd stay with her father. However, Kya could tell by her mother's words and the way she looked so upset by her current situation that the day her parents would be together would be further down the line but no time soon.

Katara looked back at her daughter and brushed her hair behind her ear, "Your father and I love you and this family very much. Even if we do things that don't make sense or we appear cruel, we're only trying to keep things together. Sometimes we have different views and fight but we mean well. Trust me, there is nothing we want more than for everyone to be safe."

Nodding her head, "I know, mom."

The two hugged just as the little ones ran back to them.

"Mama, Mailan said I have a baby banana between my legs." Ryu said as he ran into his mother's lap.

Mailan ran up behind him, "Ryu thinks he's a girl, mommy, but I told his pee part looks different from mine. He didn't believe me so I showed him mine and said it looked like meat sent from the butcher but he looks like a little dangling banana thingy."

Both Kya and Katara were absolutely speechless. They immediately took the two kids in from outdoors and separated them.

"I'll take Ryu to Zuko." Kya said.

Katara nodded as she chuckled uncomfortably, "Maybe tell him that Ryu pulled his pants down in front of Mailan. I'll put Mailan down for naptime."

"But papa will get mad if he knows I showed my pee part again." Ryu said, confessing to having flashed someone before.

"And I'm not sleepy."

Katara sternly told them to suck it up and get to moving.

"You heard mom. Move it." Kya enforced.

Ryu hung his head as his older sister took his hand and walked him to his father's office while Mailan was led to her room for naptime.

Sighing after getting the two little troublemakers away from each other, Kya and her mother laughed at each other. Mailan put up a fuss and threatened to tell her daddy on her mother to which Katara told her she would tell him herself, shutting the sassy little girl up. As for Ryu, Zuko bent him over his knee and then sent him crying to his room on punishment. They were sweet innocent kids but they had to draw the line with those little ones.

"I should let your father know Mailan flashed your brother." Katara said as she calmed her laughter.

Kya rolled her eyes, "As if that's all."

"Hey, do you need a nap too?" Katara laughed.

Yawning as she stretched, "Possibly. But you and dad have fun or whatever it is you two do these days. I'll keep an eye on the runts."

Finding the waterbender knelt in his bed, dressed in the red silk nightgown he bought her a few days ago, Ozai smirked and made his way to her. She flipped her silver waves over her shoulder and crawled to the foot of the bed. There, the waterbender grabbed his robes and pulled herself up to kiss him passionately as he started removing his clothes.

"Still not going to fuck me?" She asked him as she cupped his face while he continued stripping.

Ozai smirked and nipped her jaw, "You want me that bad?"

"You want me too."

"Do I?" He asked her jokingly.

Playfully slapping himself before she pulled him into bed with her and wrapped her arms and legs around while hundred devouring his lips. She didn't come here to play games with him. She wanted what he had in his pants and she wanted it now. He toyed with her this morning which was a huge mistake on his part because she wanted him up the rest of the night. And by up, she wanted him hard as a rock.

"I want you to make me wet the sheets!" She moaned into his mouth as she rolled them over, climbing on top of him.

Ozai just laid there watching her undo his pants and have her way with him. He hissed a little as she rode him vigorously, clearly in need of what he had for her. His eyes rolled to the back of his head as she got a little carried away and started sucking his nippls. Between the wetness of her pussy and her mouth, he didn't know which he liked more but he was going to let her do whatever she wanted.

The servants outside the Phoenix King's chambers were walking by when they saw a councilman and bowed to him.

"Have either of you noticed his majesty has been unwell?" He asked the two servants.

Shaking their heads.

"Are you sure? He was rather-"

"Oh AGNI! YOU FUCKING SLUT!"

All three shifted their gazes to the Phoenix King's chambers and looked in confusion.

"Just like that, you little freak!"

The servants looked back to the councilman, who was equally as red as they were and cleared his throat.

"I-I guess he's fine now."

In bed with a freaky waterbender underneath him, fucking her wet pussy ruthlessly, Ozai tried his best not to cum but this woman was really pushing him to his limits. He never imagined Katara would actually do that to him. She was crazy. A freak but he wasn't objecting. He wouldn't let any other woman do it to him. Hell, he didn't really let the few men he had been with do it to him but Katara was the exception in a lot of cases. And this was just one more thing he'd let her get away with.

Clawing the headboard above her head, Katara was unable to keep her voice down but she doubted anyone would hear her over Ozai being louder than her. Between fucking her and her fucking him with a dildo of ice, she knew he was trying his best not to cum. But he was hanging in there. Even as she had the ice thrust into him harder and harder, he had held onto his load.

"You can cum, Ozai." She told him in a breathless voice.

Fucking her harder, "You first." He growled as he pounded her with an abandon that caused her to nearly bust his eardrums with her screaming. She ended up gushing all over him, more only slipped out of her as he continued thrusting into her wanting to sleep in the filth they made.

Ozai pulled out and stroked himself as she continued using her bending to fucking him with the ice dick. He was about to cum on her face but she decided that she wanted it elsewhere. Moving to taking him in her mouth, Katara let him throat fuck her and soon his cum coated her throat entirely.

The two cuddled up in the messy sheets, their lips locked as they were both still in longing for the other's affection and craved the intimacy they had been sorely lacking in the last few years.

"Don't touch me there." Ozai moved her hand from his ass. "I'm sore."

"Good." She smirked and cupped his face, running her thumbs along his eyebrow. "Now, you know how I feel."

Ozai furrowed his brows at her, "Don't get used to doing that. I'm not a woman."

Katara giggled but knew he was serious. Despite him being open about his sexuality to her, she knew there was trauma that still rested in his rejection towards being on the receiving end.

"Of course, you're not a woman, Ozai." The waterbender told him as she pressed her nose to his nose. "You're too much of a dick to be a woman."

"Shut up." He growled playfully and attacked her neck.

"Wait! Wait!" She laughed and tried pushing him off for a moment. "I was supposed to tell you something when I got here."

Nipping her ear, "What?"

"Mailan and Ryu flashed each other today. We had to separate them for a little bit."

Ozai lifted his head, "They're just kids. Doesn't matter."

"It sort of does, Ozai. They shouldn't be seeing that right now. Not until they are mature enough to get the talk."

The talk? He never had the talk with any of the kids and they all seemed to know what to do or figure out the mechanics. Plus, kids as young as Mailan and Ryu were just probably being curious. They didn't even really know what it was they were looking at. Only purpose it served to those kids was to pee. That's all they know.

Sighing as he moved off of the waterbender, Ozai propped himself on his elbow and stared at her.

"How did Zuko respond to his son flashing my daughter?"

Katara giggled as she loved that Ozai saw Mailan as his actual daughter, "He bent Ryu over his knee."

Laughing as he fell on his back, "You're lying." He said hysterically.

"No, he really did and then sent Ryu to his room."

"Damn prude." Ozai laughed as he stared at the ceiling. "He was pretty upset about Zhiar being loose and fooling around on his girlfriend. I shouldn't be surprised that he'd respond to Ryu like that."

"Good to know Zuko still has some morals." Katara bit out bitterly.

Noticing the animosity laced in her tone, Ozai raised a brow and turned on his side to face her. "You two are fighting now?"

Katara shook her head as she shut her eyes. "Zuko's family. I don't want to fight him."

Ozai scoffed. "I would think you see me as family and you had no qualms about throwing me threw a wall."

"You're different." She giggled, placing her hand over her mouth.

Raising his brow, "Excuses. You don't want to fight Zuko because you know he'll kick your ass."

"What? No way!" Katara laughed.

But Ozai was not laughing. It was that same reason why Ozai didn't fight with Zuko anymore. That bastard was vicious when he was angry. Not to mention, even in his immortal state, he couldn't stop Zuko from causing serious issues to his body. If Zuko wanted to tear him apart, he could very well do so. Plus, Ozai was tired of fighting his children. He just accepted some didn't like him, some had a good reason not to, some adored him, and all of them got on his fucking nerves at one point of another. All in all, Ozai wasn't going to fight Zuko, not unless he absolutely had to and he didn't think he would.

However, Katara begged to differ.

Reaching to caress the side of his waterbender's face, "It won't be long before I have to pretend you're right here with me when I go to sleep only to wake up and you're not there. Tell me, this is forever?"

Katara honestly had a hard time dealing with Ozai when he got like this. Not because she didn't share his feelings. Tui and La, knew she did. But she had a hard time facing reality the way he did. While he was preparing himself for them to be apart again, she was trying to cherish every bit of this moment because she already knew these moments would be all she had to get by when life threw her back into the ring. He had no idea how much she wished that moments like these were forever. That they didn't have to keep looking over their shoulders, that they could forget the world hated them and wanted to hurt them.

Placing her hand on top of his as he cupped her face, "One day, Ozai, I promise this will be forever."

"One day doesn't sit well with me. Who all do I have to kill to make it now?" He asked her, his eyes turning red.

Giggling, "I can deal with it, Ozai. It won't be too much longer."

"Why won't you let me save you?"

"I can save myself, Ozai."

Ozai only stared at her. Stubborn as always, waterbender. But he didn't care what she could and couldn't do. He wanted to protect her. Like he should have been doing. Like he had always failed to do. Simply caressing her face, Ozai watched the waterbender drift off to sleep, her soft snores comforting him as he too fell asleep. He promised no matter how bad things got moving forward, he'd find a way to bring her home for good and kill their enemies.

…..

The day had been well spent. Kya had been able to spend good quality time with her younger siblings and her mother. She also got to see how much her mother truly missed being a mother to them. Obviously, the path she was on was not at all what she wanted. Her mother looked like she was in pain knowing this was only for a second in her long hard life of suffering. Kya hoped things changed soon. That maybe her father would see her mother couldn't do this alone and desperately needed his help.

As she was about to check on the little ones and make sure they had eaten all their dinner and were in bed, Kya bumped into her older brother. The princess immediately noticed her brother had a servant following behind him with a tray of what looked to be his dinner.

"I have Tomoe checking on the little ones." Zuko informed his sister, knowing she was going to check on the little ones. "Figured, you'd like to eat dinner with me and we can catch up."

Kya smiled and nodded.

Having the servant prepare the balcony patio for dinner, Zuko had his sister sit across from him as their wine glasses were poured. Kya asked for water instead, not wanting to drink alcohol, causing her brother to raise his brow.

Chuckling as she waved her hands about, "No, no, father had tried cheering me up last night and I drank way too much. I don't think I'll be able to touch alcohol again for a long time."

Zuko snickered, "Dad using alcohol to cheer you up." He sipped his wine. "Sounds like you had a breakup."

"Sort of. I don't know." Kya said as she suddenly felt a glass of wine might not be all that bad at the moment but stuck to her resolve to drink water instead. "Uhara sort of just left and said he didn't know when he would be back. I think it has something to do with his dislike of dad."

Surprised by this, Zuko asked her why Lord Totomi didn't like their father. He had always heard their father speaking highly of Uhara and even unlocked the inhuman blood within him to make him a permanent addition to the family. Plus, he had been forcing the idea of Kya marrying the man since she was sixteen. Zuko would have thought a man like Uhara would be smitten with his father-in-law. Especially when he had received so much praise.

Circling her finger around the rim of her cup, "You know how dad is. Pushy and always wants his way. Dad wants me to marry Uhara but doesn't want me to follow Fire Nation traditions of moving in with Uhara. Uhara didn't know this but once he did, I knew it angered him. He's always been good about being respectful but he doesn't like how dad tries to manage his life too. Even said he'd fight him over me. I feel like Uhara was just fed up and needed some space. Don't know if it means we're over." Kya said somberly as she sighed and shook her head. "But mom and dad said it's best to slow things down and focus on what I want from life. I think that's what I should do."

Zuko agreed. His sister was still young. Normal girls would be hoping to be married by this time but Kya had forever to do so. She should be free to find what she wanted from life. She could always settle down when she felt absolutely ready.

"But I think you should still keep in touch with Uhara. Try to make things work even if you two need distance for you to find yourself and him to be away from father." Zuko told her. "We might live forever but whether in this lifespan or in our next, finding someone you love is rare. You don't find it so easily."

Kya knew Zuko was as right about it as her parents. She and Uhara had something special. Even when she didn't like him, Uhara had always been kind to her and expressed that he had strong feelings for her. Knowing she'd be his wife one day. Having loved once and lost, Kya knew she was lucky to have it again.

Finishing dinner, Kya thanked her brother for the conversation and let him know that she really did love him the best. Mailan and Ryu were cute but annoying. And Zhiar, well...she never really liked her twin brother. But Zuko, he was always there.

"Love you, Zuko." Kya said as she hugged him.

Zuko patted her back as he returned the hug, "Love you too, sis."

However, before Kya could pull apart, her eyes widened as she saw into her brother's recent past. She couldn't believe what she saw. He was working with Atsou. Made a deal to aid in killing their father in exchange for him wiping her mother's memories clean of his father. All the good ones, at least.

Quickly, Kya removed herself from Zuko and stared wide-eyed at him. "Zuk-"

"Forgive me, Kya." Zuko said as he pushed his sister into a black flame that he had open from behind her. She was engulfed before she could even scream his name. The necklace he held in his pocket glowed for a moment as his sister was now trapped there. A trick Atsou showed him in case someone he didn't want to kill got in the way. I'll let you out when this is over.

It was the middle of the night and Ozai woke to the waterbender lying on top of him, her legs straddling his waist as her head laid on his bare chest. He sheepishly opened his eyes and ran his hand over her to get her to get off him. He had to pee and her weight was making it worse. However, nudging her didn't work nor did telling her he had to use the restroom. She just murmured something and went back to snoring.

"Katara…get off." His voice was groggy from being half asleep.

Refusing to, the waterbender wrapped her arms around him. "You can just go here in bed. I don't care."

Ozai was really starting to wonder what the hell was wrong with her. Deciding he was going to just have to take her with him, the tired king held the clingy waterbender and carried her with him to the bathroom. She hung on and giggled, not wanting to let go. He used one arm to hold her up as he used his free hand to aim, his foot flushing the toilet.

Heading back to bed, "You're not going to wash your hands?" She murmured.

"Shut up, you just told me to piss on you." Ozai said as he laid them both in bed.

Snuggling up to him, "Cause I wuv you, demon jerk." Katara threw her leg over him and made herself comfortable in his arms.

"You love my d-"

Pressing her finger to his lips, "Shhh, I wuv you. Just you."

Ozai smirked as he watched the waterbender fall asleep and caressed the side of her face. He was loving that she was back in his arms where she belonged. If they could stay like this, it would be nice, but he knew it wouldn't last long before she'd have to get back to business staining the world red with blood. Not that he was going to get in her way anymore. Katara had bloodlust not different from his. He liked it. As long as her eyes were not turned on him. Besides, she made a cute little she-devil.

An hour passed before Ozai was woken up by a noise. He sat up and looked around, wondering what it was. Katara protested as he climbed out of bed and left her to the chill of night. However, he had a gut feeling of something and didn't like it.

"Go back to bed. I'm just checking on something." Ozai told her.

Katara didn't argue and slipped further under the covers.

Ozai summoned black flames and had the fireball search around for an intruder with him. He could tell someone else was here but where? Checking out each room in his chambers, the Phoenix King found nothing and decided to set up a barrier. As he made his way back to his bedroom, he paused at the sight of a cloaked figure standing over his bed, staring down at Katara. The waterbender was obviously still asleep, snoring softly against her pillow as she snuggled up under the covers. It wasn't until the cloaked figure pulled out a dagger and raised it over their head that Ozai's eyes widened as he moved towards them.

"Get away from her!" He shouted as he tackled the cloaked figure.

Hearing tussling and commotion, Katara woke rubbing her eyes as they opened. She saw Ozai on the ground punching some man and as she tried climbing out of bed to help, she was pulled back into bed by some other intruder. Struggling against her attacker, Katara was about to bloodbend them away from her but before she could, a dagger planted itself into her abdomen several times. She cried out in pain, gaining Ozai's attention and as soon as he saw the blood, he attacked the bastard stabbing his waterbender.

"You son of a bitch!" Ozai swore as he bit into the man's neck, splattering blood everywhere as he did.

Katara held onto her stomach, vomiting blood, and trying to heal herself with her own blood. However, she was too weak to command it. She'd need water.

As soon as Ozai was done murdering the bastard that attacked them, he felt a hand reach for him and pat his back.

"Ozai, get me some water."

Blood covering his face, Ozai nodded as he was somewhat out of it from the sudden slip of madness he got from tasting blood again. He hadn't eaten a person in a long time and just the taste of blood was making him hungry. Forcing himself to refocus, Ozai went and got the waterbender the water she needed to heal herself. Once she laid back and began healing her injuries, the Phoenix King turned his attention to both intruders and removed their corpses out of the room, dragging blood all over the floor.

Managing to heal most of the damage, Katara weakly rolled over and tore some of the sheets to wrap around her middle. Whoever those bastards were, they were targeting her. When Ozai returned, covered in blood, he had a look in his eyes that made her see a glimpse of the man he no longer was. He made his way to her, looking her over to see if she was okay and had him help her wrap her wounds.

"Who were those men?" Ozai asked her.

Katara winced as she was still very much injured, "I don't know. Did you get a look at the men?"

"From the looks of them, they're of Earth Kingdom descent. Any reason they want you dead?"

"Princess Kikyo." Katara's eyes widened. "Those bastards find out I'm alive and try to have me kill the first chance they get!"

Ozai furrowed his brows. But how did they know you were here?

"I'm supposed to be in the Fire Nation. Why'd they come here? Who else knows I'm here?" Katara furrowed her brows and thought about this morning. "Princess Ami! That bitch!"

"Ami? Ami wouldn't." Ozai told her. He knew Ami wouldn't because Ami orchestrated Kikyo's death. The woman was still alive. Hidden away and he had the key and location to where the princess was. He wouldn't tell Katara this, only because he knew it would piss her off.

"How can you be so sure?"

"I just am. Men were sent here and the Fire Nation to kill you. They know you're heavily associated with me and Zuko. It's only reasonable they look in both places." Ozai explained.

Well that made sense but Katara wasn't ruling out Ami. That woman saw her yesterday morning. Even if she had never met the woman before, Katara knew people had a good description of her and there weren't too many young looking women with silver hair that would answer the Phoenix King's chamber doors early in the morning wearing his robes. She would keep eyes on the woman.

In the morning, the two were tired and annoyed. They stayed up all night waiting for another pair of idiot assassins to come but never did and now, they were exhausted. Ozai had the servants clean up the blood while he made the palace guards aware of the incident. He'd need to address his council about the attack but he wasn't sure how that was supposed to go over. Many were not fond of Katara after she was suspected to be involved in the gala massacre and she was confirmed to have caused the Fire Nation to freeze over. Many more were frightened of her. However, he'd leave her name out of it. Simply stated it was an attempt on his life.

Katara stayed in his chambers and tried resting as Ozai placed guard outside his chambers and added a barrier. She couldn't sleep much. Not when someone literally tried to kill her like that. Last time she was ambushed or someone was sent to kill her was during that time she thought Ozai had died. People wanted her dead and they even tried attacking her children. It infuriated her. Even now, people were still trying to kill her. Katara really felt sick to her stomach that no one had learned not to fuck with her. Did she have to teach everyone a lesson?

Barging into Ozai's council room, Katara stormed up to where Ozai and his council were eyeing her. She slammed her hands down on the table and glared at all of them, then looked to Ozai.

"I know who made the order to have me assassinated. I don't need your men or anyone for that matter taking my kill. I'll deal with it myself." She told him.

Furrowing his brows, "Your kill? You think you can just kill a monarch, Katara?"

"I think I can kill whoever I damn well please, Ozai. That son of a bitch in Ba Seng Sei celebrated my death and threw a party in the streets. Now, finding I'm alive, he tries to kill me?!" Katara was furious.

"You'd be starting a war, you idiot!"

"Who's stupid enough to go to war with people like us?!"

Ozai sighed and dismissed everyone from the council room. As soon as they were gone, he narrowed his eyes at Katara and towered over her.

"I'm not starting a war with anyone. This is a time of peace. I didn't ever think I'd need to tell you that since it was you and your little band of Avatar followers that destroyed most of my military over two decades ago in the name of peace." Ozai told her.

Shoving her finger in his chest, "Who says you have to go to war? I'm the one doing the killing."

Grabbing her finger, "Your ties to me makes it look like I'm a part of this. You can't attack however you like. Or do whatever you like. It makes not only me look bad but everyone in our family. Do you want that?"

Katara hated that he was right but what was she supposed to do? That bastard wanted her dead. And she wanted to kill him.

"What's the point of having all this power if we can't use it to deal with our enemies? They attacked me! What if it was one of our children?!"

"Then we'd be having a different conversation."

"And why? You agree to defend our children but not me?"

Ozai pinched his brows, "Our children are innocent. Everyone except Zhiar. If anyone came after them, they'd be going after innocents that had nothing to do with anything. I will defend someone innocent. You and I are a different story. There's nothing innocent about either of us. We have our hands covered in blood and nothing is ever going to wash them clean. Not even time. So we must handle things differently when it comes to us."

"I didn't kill Kikyo!"

"I know that but that doesn't make you innocent. We all pay for the things we've done, Katara. One day, we'll all pay."

"I've already paid, Ozai! I've already paid! Look at me!" Katara screamed as she pulled at the dress she was wearing. "You see the scars on my body! You know what they did to me in the North! What those sick men and Arnook did to me! Was that not payment enough?! Or am I supposed to keep paying?! I don't have anything else to give!"

"Kat-"

"And what of you, Ozai?! What of you?! What did you pay for your sins?! While me and even Zuko are forced to endure the consequences of our actions, you get off scot free! When will your day come?!"

Ozai turned away from her, "I'm already living in hell."

"Well, it doesn't look like it to me!" Katara shouted before fixing up her dress and marching off to leave.

"Katara," he said, causing her to pause for a moment. "Don't go starting wars. Not with our enemies and not with me. I'll find a way to address this situation but don't-."

"Kiss my ass, Ozai. I'll do as I please."

Trying to keep her cool after that heated conversation with her ex, Katara tried finding her children hoping it would calm her down; however, finding the little ones, she didn't see Kya. She wondered where her eldest daughter could be but as she searched for her, the waterbender ran into yet another ex, one she was more angry with. He approached her with an unreadable expression and stopped just a few inches in front of her.

"Kya went to see Uhara, I think, to maybe patch things up." Zuko told her as he knew she was looking for her daughter.

Nodding her head, Katara figured as much, her daughter and her were more alike than she previously had thought. "Well, if you see her, can you let her know I was looking for her?"

Zuko agreed but noticed Katara looked upset about something, even though it wasn't obvious on her face. His eyes then roamed her and noticed she was injured from the bulkiness on her dress in the front. He furrowed his brows as his eyes glowed, seeing underneath her clothes and saw she had stab wounds to her middle. When she turned to take her leave, Zuko caught her arm and stopped her.

"Tara, you're injured. What happened?" He asked her.

Snatching her arm from him, "Nothing. I'm fine."

Not believing that for a second, Zuko followed behind her as she made her way to her room and tried prying the information out of her. He knew it wasn't his father's doing. As much as he hated his father, he knew the man would never stab Katara like this, so how did she end up like this?

Annoyed that Zuko was pestering her, Katara ignored him and when she reached her bedroom door, the waterbender turned to glare at him.

"Stop pretending like you give a fuck, Zuko. You don't. This family, me, we mean nothing to you." She growled at him.

"Wh-what?! I don't care?! Katara, I've always cared! You know that! From the very beginning! Everything I've done!" Zuko snapped at the accusation.

Katara narrowed her eyes, "You're as much our enemy as Atsou and others. Killing your father, you might as well kill the rest of us." She tells him as she slips behind the door and shuts it in his face.

Standing on the other side, Zuko glares at the door and forces himself to leave her be. If Atsou didn't still need Katara to carry out his orders, he'd trap Katara in his locket with Kya. He had a bad feeling she was going to get herself killed trying to protect his father from being killed. Katara was stupid in that way. He hated to admit it but she was a major idiot at times and it really frustrated him.

Going back to his office to work on a few things, Zuko sits down and notices that his locket is causing a bunch of commotion in his pocket. He sighs and pulls the locket out and opens it to see Kya looking very much upset. His expression is every bit indifferent as he felt. As much as he loved his half siblings, Kya especially, he was deeply annoyed with their meddling and interference throughout the years. At the end of the day, he was more than their older brother, he might as well have been an additional parent since he raised them at a young age while their father was in prison. They needed to recognize and understand he was not one of them, a child to follow their parents. Shit, he was two years older than their mother. They may be adults but they were still very much children.

"I told Zhiar and you to stay in your places. Neither of you listen." Zuko told her. "What happens between your parents and I are neither of your business."

Kya looks at him empathetically and shakes her head, "You hate father. You have more a right to that than any of us. At least, our father looked at us as his children. But you, Zuko, even now, you're not his son. I accept and understand your hatred for him." The princess sniffled a little as tears fell from her eyes. "But I don't want to lose my father because of your jealousy over him and my mother. Is there not another way, Zuko?"

Furrowing his brows as he watched his sister look at him tearfully, "No, he has to die."

Sobbing mournfully, Kya shook her head and begged him to see that this was wrong.

"Why do I always have to play nice when you know as well as I do the blood that runs through our veins? All of us are capable of wrong just as he is. Why should I be merciful when he's been anything but merciful to me?! He didn't even tell me Katara was alive when he knew all this time!"

Kya tried explaining that their father saw he had moved on and was trying to do better. He didn't want to ruin it. So, they agreed, her, Hama, their father, and even Iroh, to not tell him. For his sake. Zuko was even more angered by this. Even his uncle agreed he didn't need to know.

"Please, Zuko, please, I don't want to lose my father again. He's not perfect. I know that but he's always taken care of me. And as much as I love my mother, even she hasn't done for me what he has. Please, don't do this!" Kya pleaded.

Sucking his teeth, Zuko refused. He was going to do as he liked just as his father and Katara did.

Kya continued crying as she could tell Zuko truly intended to aid in killing their father. It was breaking her heart. She loved her father but she always loved her brother. It would be hard to watch either of them be killed.

Trying to wipe her tears, "Then all I can do is try to forgive you when that time comes! I'm sorry you feel you have to do this! I wish you wouldn't but if you do, all I can do is try to forgive you!"

Closing the locket, Zuko shoved it back in his pocket and placed his hands over his face. I don't need your pity, Kya! I don't need forgiveness!

…..

Sitting at her vanity crafting a wig out of raven hair, Katara tried pushing her murderous thoughts aside and thinking about other things. Mostly about whether she was going to make bangs on this wig and what hair accessories she should wear with it. Her silver hair was drawing way too much attention and people knew who to look for. She couldn't blend in with her hair standing out like a sore thumb. It would cause others to target her even more and it'll only make her much more furious.

Stupid Ozai. When did he become a goodie goodie? She quickly banished her ill thoughts away. Ozai wasn't wrong. Mostly, that was. She hated it. He was thinking about the bigger picture and trying to avoid war while she wanted to wage it for her own personal vendetta. When did the two of them switch places like this? She felt like the evil one and he was the good. Self-righteous asshole.

Though not hearing footsteps, Katara sensed a presence behind her and sighed to herself. "I'm not still mad if that's what you think."

"You're not?"

"You were right." Katara reluctantly told him. "I can't just go kill the Earth King. It'll look bad on all of us."

Ozai nodded, feeling a bit victorious knowing she saw things his way.

"That's why I'm going to kill him as someone other than myself." Katara smirked and lifted the wig she was making for him to see.

Eyeing the wig, "Is that my hair?"

Smirking to herself, "Yes, I was going to make a cursed doll out of it and use it to torture you from afar but...I found a better pursue for it." Finishing up the last part, Katara put the wig on and stuffed all of her hair under it as she adjusted it to her head. "Plus, I've always been jealous of your hair." She looked over her shoulder at him and laughed at the look he was giving her. "Looks better on me, right?"

Ozai wanted to tell her she was psychotic as fuck. Whatever those assholes did to her in the North Pole and whatever his brother did to her, it had her out of her fucking mind. But he kept his opinions to himself and just laughed at her. Crazy as she might be, at least she was fun about it...sometimes.

Taking the wig off of her head, Ozai patted her head and smirked at her in the mirror. "You really want to kill the Earth King, don't you?"

"Yup."

"Well if you're going in disguise, I won't stop you but you should try not using your bending." He told her.

And she was way ahead of him. Pulling out a black box on her vanity, Katara opened it and showed him the weapon she was going to use. He eyed it curiously as it wasn't something he had ever seen in his life. What the hell was this thing?

"Atsou calls it a gun. I used a larger version of this when I killed the representatives from your kingdom and the Earth Kingdom a while ago."

Ozai eyed her for a second and then looked back at the weapon. She let him take it out and hand it, trying to get an idea for it. Katara explained the way it was supposed to function and showed him how to hold it properly. Getting him to place his finger on the trigger, Katara showed him where to aim, which was at a painting of a faceless woman just above her bedpost and told him to aim for the head.

"Headshots are fatal. If you're going to kill with certainty, go for the head." She told him and made him pull the trigger.

A loud sound almost like fireworks went off just by his ear and Ozai dropped the gun immediately, causing it to fire off on its own, shooting a hole into a trunk of items. He moved away from the weapon as Katara picked it back up and placed it safely back into the box.

Chuckling as she sealed the box, "Other than me, Atsou, and Daikoku, you're the only other person that knows of a weapon like this."

"You could use something less noisy. Something melee like a dagger, sword, spear, even a club would do." He suggested, eyeing the box with the weapon in it.

"A dagger?" Katara thought this over. "Perhaps, but I don't plan on killing him now. I have things to take care of in his grand city first. Once that's done. I'll do what he couldn't accomplish and I'll do it without sending someone else in my place."

Ozai simply watched Katara as she moved away from her vanity and pulled off her night robe as she stood in front of her bed.

"Are you staying the night with me?" She asked him.

Shaking his head, "I rather you come back with me. Until you leave."

Katara shook her head, "I leave in the morning. Better I stay here tonight."

Going to her, Ozai kissed her goodnight, "I'll try to see you before you go. I have to pick up Mailan anyway."

"Good luck. She and Ryu should have been twins with how close they are."

Ozai did not look forward to separating the two. He'd take Ryu with them so the two wouldn't be apart but he doubted Zuko would allow it. Seemed he and his eldest son were not getting along again. As Ozai left, Katara climbed in bed and laid herself to sleep.

….

In the morning, Ozai had come back like he said he would to pick up Mailan and see Katara off. He went to her bedroom to check on her there but saw she wasn't in his room. He then went to his son's to see if Zuko knew whether Katara left or not. However, his son opened the door, Ozai saw Zuko was completely naked and smirked.

"Looking for Katara?"

Ozai furrowed his brows, "Did she leave already?"

Zuko laughed and opened the door, going to a dress of hers that laid on the floor. He grabbed it and handed it to his father.

"I hope not. She left this last night."

Staring at the dress, Ozai noticed it was one of the dresses he bought her and looked like it had been burned a little. He looked up from the dress in his hands to the marks on Zuko's neck and connected the dots.

Rubbing his shoulder, "She really does need to clip her nails."

Ozai set the dress on fire as his expression turned into an infuriated one. That tramp!

…...

"Daddy, I don't wanna leave!" Mailan cried as her father was trying to pull her off the door.

Ozai was not having it. He wanted to go back home already and Zuko was in good enough health to take care of things here, which meant he wasn't needed, which also meant it was time to go back home. Mailan needed to come on already. He would let her come back and see Ryu another time or have Ryu come visit them but he wasn't staying here and neither was she.

"MOMMY!" Mailan screamed.

Not fazed by her trying to get her mother involved, the Phoenix King kept trying to yank his daughter off the door handle.

"MOMMY! DADDY IS TRYING TO KILL ME!" Mailan shouted even louder and the nearby servants all paused to stare at the scene, wondering if the Phoenix King would really kill his adoptive daughter.

Katara finally showed up but only because she had been planning on stopping by to say goodbye to Mailan and Ozai. However, she could see Ozai was having a hard time getting Mailan to leave.

Chuckling as she walked up to them with her arms folded, "What's going on here?"

"Daddy is trying to kill me!" Mailan cried real tears as she kicked out of her father's grasp and ran to her mother.

"What have I told you about lying?!" Ozai hissed as Mailan tucked herself under her mother's bosoms.

Katara laughed and patted Mailan's back as she held her close, "Ozai, you could be more gentler with her. She's just a kid."

Ozai was irritated. If he wasn't being gentle just now, they would have been gone and Mailan would be missing fingers. Besides, he didn't need Katara telling him to be gentle when she wasn't the one raising the little diva. As much as he understood her situation, he didn't want criticism from her about his parenting skills. At least he was present.

The waterbender crouched down to her daughter and smiled at her as she rustled her hair, "You go with daddy, okay? I need you to make sure he doesn't get in trouble and be a good girl for him. I'm trusting you to look after him."

Rolling his eyes, "I think you have this all backwards, waterbender."

"Okay, mommy! I'll take care of daddy!" Mailan said happily.

"Good girl! Now go get your things packed so you two can get home already."

Mailan nodded and ran into her room to get the rest of her things.

As the little girl left, Katara smirked as she saw Ozai scowling at her. But she didn't really care. He did look gorgeous with the haircut. Even if he was wearing that scary oni half-mask.

"Yesterday you wanted to spend another night with me and today, you look like you want to strangle me again." Katara giggled as she stood in front of him.

"Maybe because I can't decide which I want to do more." Ozai scoffed and turned around.

Finding his attitude to be humorous to her, Katara grabbed his arm and rubbed her cheek against the fabric of his robes. She was shoved away with a hand to her head. At first, she thought he was just toying with her, being a playful asshole. However, when she tried to grab his hand, he burned her and gave her a dirty look as she retracted her hand and nursed it.

"What's wrong?" Katara asked him as she healed her hand.

Ozai glared at her, "If you're going to fuck one of us, don't fuck the other."

Confused, Katara tilted her head.

"Oh, don't play stupid!"

"Play stupid with what?! I have no idea what is going on here!"

"Is that so? Tell me why when I saw him this morning, I saw one of the dresses I bought you lying on his floor in front of his bed!" Katara's eyes widened at this. "And he was covered in marks that makes it obvious what you two were doing!"

"Ozai, I didn't sleep with Zuko! You've got to know that! I would never!"

Not believing her, "There are a lot of things that you would have never done that you are beginning to do."

That scheming asshole! Katara clenched her fists. Zuko was seriously out of his mind right now and he was playing dirty. She knew nothing she said would convince Ozai otherwise but she knew he could see her memories to know she hadn't been fooling around with Zuko. She hadn't even looked at Zuko like that in a long time. He felt more like family despite their history. But she knew Zuko looked at her very differently.

Grabbing Ozai's hand, Katara forced it to her forehead and eyed him. She wanted him to see she wasn't lying. There was nothing going on between her and Zuko. However, Ozai wasn't in the mood to see her fucking his son. He didn't even think he'd have to make that clear to her. If she was screwing around with someone else, what made her think he wanted her screwing around with him too? Even when she was married to Arnook, she knew not to sleep with the both of them, just like he didn't touch other women while he was involved with her.

Ozai pulled his hand away and glared at her, "Don't touch me. I'm leaving and that means the truce is over. Touch me again and I'll break your wrist." He threatened.

"Ozai, please! I didn't-"

"I don't care. You do what you like anyways, right?"

"No!" Katara grabbed his arm. "Please, Ozai, I-"

Snapping her wrists, Ozai shoved her to the ground and spat on her. "I told you to keep your hands off of me."

Katara stared after him as he walked away, nursing her broken wrist as she couldn't believe he had actually done that. I swear I'm going to kill Zuko!

A/N:

Alrighty, So I've been getting PMs about Katara being made a whore in this story but I really need to ask you guys collectively….She literally only puts out for one person. So….how does that make her a whore? Maybe there's something I'm missing. Sure I'm an adult but I grew up in a very censored household so somethings I don't understand to the same extent as others. She literally doesn't entertain being with anyone other than Ozai. This is an AU as is most fanfiction. Everyone has their take on different characters. You can love it or hate it, trust me I've been there. So, feel free to continue letting me know how Katara is a whore, I don't believe in silencing people's opinions, we all have them. But I'm just curious what makes her a whore because if anything, I feel like I go out of my way to not write her as a whore in this story. Maybe it'll help me better write her. Just confused is all. She's just love sick and feels undyingly loyal to the person she's been in love for years in my eyes.

Also, Katara became violent after being violated...well, as someone who has been violated and sexually assaulted, I wrote from how I handled things (though in my case, I was mostly angry and I pictured killing my attackers). Sure, each victim has a different way of handling assault but I wrote what I knew from my experience because that's what I know. It's hard to write from the perspective of another survivor since I never really talked to other people about it nor did I want to because it's not something easily talked about for most people. I just didn't want to write her dealing with it in another way because I feel it can be insulting to those people that handled it that way. So I feel it's best to pull from my own experience.

And Katara getting pregnant again….Okay, I get this one. Lol I'm not going to lie, I do impregnate her a lot. And I have no real reason for doing so but I literally write Ozai being annoyed by this as a way to show, even he hates it. But spoiler, her getting pregnant again will happen again but not for a long long time. This story is nowhere near finished. But she'll have more children. Some might be hers or not, who knows? Lol I know but you'll have to find out.

Just wanted to address that since I get a lot of feedback about it. Not to change what you think, just wanted everyone to know where I'm coming from. Because every writer has their reasons and sometimes we don't always know why the Author wrote things that way. Hell, I'm still trying to understand why Zutara was not canon lol but anyways, love you guys and I want you guys to know I do take your feedback serious and I even alter my story a little bit because you guys are the readers and should at least, like what you're reading. So, no hard feelings. Just wanted to let you know why. But feel free to think and interpret how you like.

Also, if there are other things or characters you want me to address PM or Comment.
