Chapter 55
Time for Music! Let's Rock, Part 1!
It was a few days later, a week or so later. The day of the concert. Everything was ready, except….
"I feel so dumb." Dick commented on the day of the concert. He was wearing a bright cyan blue suit with a yellow stripe like patter across the chest and around the edges of the gloves and boots, the gloves and boots being a darker blue... And a massive disco collar around his neck
"Really? I think you look great." Duela smiled as she walked up behind him.
"Because you picked it." he joked back
"And I have good taste." She responded... and gave a slap on his tight acrobatic ass.
"Hey!" he jumped softly
"What? You don't complain about it before." Duela teased
"Yeah, but you don't hit that hard." he joked
SLAP!
"Hey!" Bart yelped as he jumped upwards, not far from the two
Cass giggled at her boyfriend's reaction, having copied her mother

"Also that." Dick frowned
"Oops." Duela flinched. "... I wonder how the others are getting on?" She changed the conversation.
James was hard at work tuning his guitar and checking what he could
Strum~!
"Perfect." He whispered nervously. "What else, what else?" He muttered. He looked around, seeing the others do the same. They had about an hour before everything started
"James? Are you okay?" Rachel asked as she sat down next to him.
"I guess a bit nervous?" he smiled softly
"I understand. It's a huge event." She nodded
"Yeah." he nodded with a calm smile
"You'll do fine." She kissed his cheek gently. "You're going to rock the house."
"Thanks." he grinned
*meanwhile*
On the other side of the curtain which hid away the Titans was Jump City park... which was packed
Hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands of people were there.
Some of them in cosplay, some bringing banners and all excited to see the Titans.
The members of Titans Unlimited where traveling the area with donation boxes, Rose directing everyone calmly
"This is Lois Lane with the Daily Planet." A woman said to a red head holding a camera "Here we are in Jump City where the Titans are giving a charity concert for the relief of the Metropolis damage caused from General Zod's attack." The woman had long black hair, slightly tanned hair and soft violet eyes. Her lips where painted red while she wore a purple female business suit with a short skirt
The young man with red hair was wearing a blue jacket, a white shirt with an ID-badge around his neck, black trousers and well-worn shoes.
"This charitable act was organised by one of the leaders of the Titans; one, 'James Tennyson'." Lois continued "He goes by the heroic title of Jay 10, and he is one of the founding members of the orthogonal team. He is also the main benefactor of the event. Little is known about this hero, outside his great wealth. He is also giving a 1 million dollar donation to the charity act's funds. Right here we have one of the newest Titans, a member of Titans Unlimited Metropolis Branch. Superboy!"
"Hi, there!" Superboy waved out of excited nervousness. "Hey, Superman! Hi guys! Hello, Ms Lane."
"Superboy, tell us." Lois began to speak to him.
Elsewhere Blue Beetle hummed to himself as he flew over the crowed, checking for any potential problems 'Okay, looks alright from up here. People are behaving themselves... wait a sec.' He thought, looking down at the crowd from above.
"See something, Blue?" Stargirl asked as she flew next to him, sat on her Cosmic Staff
"I thought I did. But it's just people making out down there." Blue Beetle commented
"Wow... they are getting into it." Stargirl blinked "You ever... think about doing that?"
"Huh? Uh-Um. M-Making out? With... with a girl?" Jaime gulped nervously and muttered.
"No, with a guy." she rolled her eyes "Of course a girl."
"... Stop laughing, Beetle." He told his beetle. "Look, I... I've never been good with that."
"With what?" the blonde asked, flouting closer
"Talking to girls." Jaime answered. "Romantically."
"Well..." Courtney started
"Hey, you two done?" Kyle asked as he flew towards them "Ms Wilson wants us to check near the entrance." he told Stargirl
"Okay." she nodded with a small blush, flying off
"Seeya." Jaime waved. "...Yeah, I know I'm a loser." He frowned as his Beetle commented while noticing how close the two were flying together
"Change?" Tim asked as the Robin traveled the crowed alongside Wonder Girl "Any donations?"
"Donations? Thank you, Sir. Thank you, Ma'am." Wonder Girl smiled as she received donations.
Elsewhere, up high, was the Justice League. Watching and ready
Suddenly light began to fill the air from the stage, drawing everyone's attention. The cheers from the crowd were deafening as a single person walked upon the stage.
"HELLO JUMP CITY!" James cheered as loud as he could before the stage was filled with light, revealing the full band. The band, the Titans, waved at the crowd; their nerves shaking as they saw thousands of eyes all upon them but they were met with a thunderous roar of cheers
"Hoo." Raven exhaled calmly as they were getting ready.
James gave a small chord on his guitar... and began to play "You all know why we are here!" James called as he played a small nonsense tune, showing his skills and helping ease the others "Metropolis has recently gone through a great tradigy, so we are all gathered tonight to help them and wish them all good luck!"
James gave a small riff on his guitar, which really had the crowd cheering, before he stopped playing
"So, with that fun out of the way, let's introduce the band!" he cheered, especially as the audience cheered back "On Drums, from Atlantis, is Aqualad!"
Garth quickly gulped and decided to do a quickly flurry of drums, shocked when the crowd cheered
"On Keytar from Azarath, Raven!" James continued.
Raven pressing some keys which gave a quick snappy tune. She was awkward with it but when the crowd cheered, she smiled
"On bass, Detroit Michigan's very on Victor Stone! Cyberian!" James kept going
"BOOYAH!" Victor cheered, and he was met back with a...
"BOOYAH!" a bunch of people from his home town cheered
'My people.' He thought with a warmed heart.
"On guitar, from Gotham City, Nightwing!" James continued
"What is he wearing?" Batman muttered as he saw his son on stage, Nightwing preforming a small tune as the lights flashed blue and was met with another cheer
"I think it works." Harley smiled from next to him, wearing her Shard costume while she held Damian... who was in a 'baby Robin' costume
"Huh. I guess Bart is on lights. Those shifts are happening so quickly." Flash commented
"Glad you can tell." Batman commented
"Our back-up singers! From Tameran, Kori and Kom Tennyson!" James smiled as he saw his wives.
"Hello everyone!" they called
"And with them is Argent from New Zealand!"
"Party!" Argent joked, showing off her costume. The crowd seemed to cheer quite loud for her, probably by the sight of her costume. It was a black leotard with white aspects that where the same shade as her skin, black boots that reached her knees while also having large tassels coming from her arms. One red, one yellow and one blue, the three on each arm
"Seems like they've got some interesting costumes on." Diana chuckled as she saw Argent wearing those clothes.
"Yeah." Megan giggled
"I wonder what songs they're going to sing?" Harley wondered
"And as for our dancers, the mother and daughter of Gotham! The Harleyquin with Batwoman!"
"Whoo-hoo! It's them! The family's there!" Harley cheered as she saw them appear on stage while she waved Damian's hand
James slowly took a breath as he turned to the band, gave a nod and gave Garth the nod for the first song.
The drums started up as James turned to the audience and grabbed the mic "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are the Titans and this is gonna be the greatest show we could give!" he cheered
Garth was slamming the drums, Nightwing and Victor following up
"Woah!" James and the girls yell-sang loudly
"Woah!"
The group kept up their music, James joining the other two in the guiitar work
"Woah!" James sang by himself
"Woah!" the girls sand
"Woah!"
James played a harsh cord before he leaned close, and began to sing "Ladies and gents, this is the moment you've waited for."
"Woah!" the girls sang
"Been searching in the dark, your sweat soaking through the floor."
"Whoa~!"
Garth's rhythm kept in time, giving James some needed quiet.
"And buried in your bones. There's an ache that you can't ignore." James whispered as the music slowly began to build behind him "Taking your breath, stealing your mind. And all that was real was left behind."
The thumps of the drums slowly building up as the sounds of Nightwing's guitar rising up.
"Don't fight it, it's coming for you, running at ya.
It's only this moment, don't care what comes after.
Your fever dream; can't you see it getting closer?" James continued to sing as his voice slowly built up passion.
Up in the rafters, Bart and Garfield going to the lights and directing what came next.
"Just surrender 'cause you feel the feeling taking over." James continued before he took a deep breath and began to belt out his voice.
"It's fire, it's freedom, it's flooding open!
It's a preacher in the pulpit and you'll find devotion."James grabbed the mic closer to his voice as Garth, Dick and Raven continued to build upon it.
"There's something breaking at the brick of every wall it's holding!
All that you know~; so tell me do you wanna go~!"-
The boom of Garth on the cymbals caught the crowd's attention as the lights illuminated the stage.
"Where it's covered in all the colored lights~!" James sang passionatly, releasing his guitar from his grip and letting it hand from the wrap wrapped around him
"Where the runaways are running the night?
Impossible comes true, it's taking over you!"
Up front Cass and Duela where literally walking the walk right now. Mother and daughter doing some rather fancy gymnastics and dance moves to go with the song
"Oh, this is the greatest show!" Kori, Kom and Toni all sang together alongside, their voices echoing together
"We light it up, we won't come down!" James continued once again, his fist pumping next to himself lightly as he kept himself pumped. Passion was pouring from his body and into his voice, melding with the music which showed everyone's desire to do this good deed
"And the sun can't stop us now!
Watching it come true-"
"It's taking over you!" Kori and Kom sang together
"Oh, this is the greatest show~!" Argent sang beautifully, her voice loud and echoing throughout the arena
Everyone cheered, clapping and stomping in time with the beat
"Whoa~-ao-ao-ao~!" The girls continued to sing and harmonise with the music.
"Colossal we come, these renegades in the ring." James continued.
"Whoa~-ao-ao-ao~!"
"Where the lost get found in the crown of the circus king!
Don't fight it, it's coming for you, running at ya.
It's only this moment, don't care what comes after.
It's blinding outside and I think that you know; just surrender 'cause you're calling and you-." James continued until
"Wanna go~!" He and the girls sang in unison.
BOOM!
The laser lights came on and moved from the ground, travelling upwards to the sky through the crowd.
"Where it's covered in all the coloured lights! Where the runaways are running the night!"
James held his arms wide, throwing his head back as he belted out the song "Impossible comes true, intoxicating you!"
"Oh, this is the greatest show!" the four Titans sang together
Dick and Vic stood back to back, shredding their guitars in their own way with wild excitement
Cass was thrown into the air by her mother, doing a series of quick and perfectly executed twists, before landing back into Duela's arms
"We light it up, we won't come down
And the sun can't stop us now!" James sang as his eyes flicked back, thinking about Terra back stage. How she adventured the world to find her own place, how she saw the wonders of the world as she searched for where she belonged. Like a runaway to the circus, she found them
"Watching it come true, it's taking over you!"
"Oh, this is the greatest show!" Argent sang loudly once again, holding the note much longer than before. She was a unique sort of free spirit, in that she refused to let herself be limited. She always shrived to be better, to be free. To make the world her stage
"When it's covered in all the colored lights!" James, Kori and Kom sang together
"Where the runaways are running the night!"
Gath played his drums passionatly, focusing with all his might. The boy from Atlantis growing into a man, and ready to prove himself to the world
"Impossible comes true, it's taking over you!" James continued, taking up his guitar once again
"Oh, this is the greatest show!" the married sisters sang together
"We light it up, we won't come down!
And the sun can't stop us now!" They all sang together, James focusing with all his might. Pushing out every ounce of passion he had inside of him
"Watching it come true, it's taking over you!
This is the greatest show!" With the lights blaring around them and a powerful last blare of their instruments the song ended
The crowd cheered as the song ended, every single member of the Titans panting in exhaustion and soaking in the celebrations
James and the group were quickly patted down by Bart speeding around with a towel, and drinks by their side. He took a quick drink mouthing the next song to the group so they were on cue "So, how was that?!" James called out to the audience
The crowd cheered as this was only song one of the concert and they were pumped for more.
"Alright! Here we go!" James continued and began to play a powerful chord on his guitar, an almost 'metal rock' vibe to it.
This orchestrated to Dick, Vic and Garth to change the tone and go for it.
"I see no, hear no evil. Black writings on the wall. Unleashed a million faces, and one by one they fall!" James began to sing, accompanied by Dick's voice.
"Black-hearted evil?
Brave-hearted hero?
I am all, I am, all I am." James almost rolled his head over the mic as he continued to rock out, pulling himself back for a moment.
"I-I-I. I a~m!"
"Here we go buddy, here we go buddy. Here we go. Here we go buddy, here we go." James got back on the vocals once again as the lights changed from the technicoloured lights to more solo red colours.
"Go ahead and try to see through me!
Do it if you dare!" James sang playing his heart out
"One step forward, two steps back,
I'm here!"
"One step forward, two steps back~" the girls echoed
"Do it... do it... do it... DO IT!" James sang before he jumped into the air, coming down with a harsh slash of his guitar
"Can you see all of me?
Walk into my mystery!
Step inside and hold on for dear life!" James couldn't help but imagine them as he played. This three dark girls
"Do you remember me?
Capture you or set you free?
I am all, I am all of me!"
"I am, I am all of me!" the background singers threw in
"I am... I am, I'm all of me! I am... I am, I'm all of me! I am... I am, I'm all of me!" James sang in quick succession
In front of them Cass and Duela where going a much different sort of dance, looking like they were fighting as the red lights span around them
"Here we go!" Kori called, arms above her head and wiggling her body as she did a small dance
"This your kinda music, Bats?" Hawkwoman joked, and was met with a BatGlare
"I see and feel the evil!
My hands will crush 'em all!" James sang as she filled his mind, his Raven
"You think you have the answers?
I'll laugh and watch you fall!" tall and dark, born to be the ultimate weapon of evil, instead choosing to do good
Garth was struggling to keep up, especially under the hot lights, but he refused to slow down
"Black-hearted evil?
Brave-hearted hero?" James sang. Karen and Jinx, they broke away from HIVE of their own free will. They wanted to be better people, breaking away from the darkness. They knew who they were
"I am all, I am all, I am!
I... I... I... I am!
Here we go, buddy!

"Go ahead and try to see through me.
Do it if you dare!" James and Dick sang together, Nightwing throwing in a quick line before he got back to his guitar

"Do it... do it... do it... DO IT!

Walk into my mystery!" James sang into the mic, abandoning his guitar once again as he gripped the mic
"Step inside and hold on for dear life!

I am all, I am all of me!" sweat dripped down James' face heavily at this point, his blue hair a mess, but the crowed continued to cheer
"I am, I am all of me!" Toni backed up
"I am... I am, I'm all of me!

I am... I am, I'm all of me!" Kori and Kom repeated, giving James the second to down a bottle of water and throw it onto the stage in a very dramatic fashion
"Here we go!" Argent cheered as a large amount of female fans cheered, the water having splashed all over James' shirt and made it stick to his chest more which showed off his body to them a bit
"I am... I am everyone, everywhere! Anyhow, anyway, any will, any day!" James sang quickly, pointing out at the crowed. You decide the sort of person you are, you strive towards your destination "I am... I am everyone, everywhere! Anyhow, anyway, any will, any day! I am! I am! I am!
I am! I am! I am!
I am!"
"Hell yeah!" Holly cheered as she head banged to the music
"This is awesome, right Hank?" Holly grinned
"Yeah." he nodded
"Do it... do it... do it... DO IT!" Argent, Starfire and Blackfire sang together
"Can you see all of me?
Walk into my mystery!
Step inside and hold on for dear life!" James sang once more, gripping the mic tightly as he pointed out at them
"Do you remember me?

Victor has his eyes narrowed as he worked, gliding across the strings of his bass as best he could
"I am... I am, I'm all of me! I am... I am, I'm all of me!" James sang fast and passionately as the group all worked together "I am... I am, I'm all of me! I am... I am, I'm all of me! I am, I am, I'm all of me!"
"Here we go!" Everyone sang as one
"I am, I am all of me..." James sang as the song ended, falling to his knees
The crowd erupted as they heard the Titans pour their hearts out and played for them, for the rebuilding of Metropolis. It was incredible!
Bart quickly ran over to the stage and passed gallon bottles of water for Aqualad and got out of there, trying to keep him hydrated and not pour any water all over the set and stage. Garth lifted the water bottles up and drank, even pouring some of it over her body, which Bart quickly washed away any unnecessary remains from the stage to make sure it was all safe.
James sat there for what seemed like forever... but he stood back up, grabbing another bottle of water and downed it, leaving a quarter left to pour over his head making the crowed cheer louder
*back stage*
Out back things where a bit hectic
"W-what's happening?" Bart asked in worry, seeing Garfield panicking.
"Lots of buttons! Lotsa levers!" Gar answered "So many!"
"Didn't you listen to Victor?" Bart asked
"I did! But... So many levers!" Garfield answered. "No manual!"
"Want to swap?" Bart asked
"Please." He nodded, letting Bart continue and fix things up.
Bart nodded, making sure the sound system was working well
"They are doing real well out there." Karen commented
"Yeah, I know. Two songs in and...Look at all this buzz." Jinx admitted, showing a social media app on the computer and the concert was 'blowing up'.
"'Look at the buzz'? Really?" Karen laughed at the unintentional pun.
"Y'know what I mean." Jinx rolled her eyes.
"I'm sorry I'm not much help." Garfield apologised, before he looked up at the lights. "Just checking on the lights." He turned into a bird and flew up.
*outside*
"This is real good." J'onn smiled
"Yeah, they really mix up the styles." Canary nodded
"Hehe." Megan giggled, having shifted her shirt into a 'Titans' band shirt
"Hm." He hummed as he saw it.
"What?" Megan responded
"Nothing, but you should keep the design." J'onn chuckled
"So... what do you think of the show, Bat's?" Flash grinned
"I'm. Proud." He muttered, only to Harley. "But don't tell him that."
"Awww~, why?" Harley pouted
"He won't let me live it down." He muttered.
Damian giggled and yawned
"Awe~, he must be getting tuckered out." Harley teased. "Should I put him to bed?"
"Might be a good idea." he nodded, running his finger across his sons chin
Damien yawned once again and snuggled in Harley's arms. "Awe~, I wonder if he'll be as musically talented as Nightwing?" She teased as she walked to the sleeping quarters... Which was a nearby hotel
"C'mo~n. You can't say that they're not bad." Wally nudged Batman.
"They aren't bad, they are very good." Batman responded
"That's what I like to hear... I wonder what's next?" Wally pondered.
*Back down on the stage*
James turned to his friends and nodded to his friends with a smile "You guys ready?" he asked
"Yeah. I'm ready." Victor nodded
"Ready." Dick responded
"Ready." Raven smiled
"Okay." he nodded and turned back to the audience "Everything alright for you ?" James asked through the mic, to the roar of the crowd.
"A bit hungry!" one random person screamed out
James laughed at that one person as he got his guitar and strummed for the next song. "We are gonna go with a slower song this time guys." he instructed "I am sure there have been times where you've all felt alone, that you've been happy to meet someone who understands how you feel. This is for all those times you've met that person, a new friend who introduces you to a new life of fun."
He gave a quick point to Gar and began they to play both their instruments.
"Whatever you do, I'll do it too. Show me everything and tell me how. It all means something. And yet nothing to me.- James began to sing with a slow passion.
The lights reduced in brightness, all lights softly framing James
"I can see there's so much to learn. It's all so close and yet so far." He reached out to the audience with his hand like he was reaching out towards a goal. -"I see myself as people see me." He pulled his outreaching hand back to his chest before grabbing his guitar "Oh, I just know there's something bigger out there!"
A clash of cymbals from Garth's drums and the music began to kick up again, with Dick playing a sick lick on the guitar.
"I wanna know, can you show~ me! I wanna know, 'bout the strangers like me!" James continued "Tell me more, please show~ me! Something's familiar, about the strangers like me~!"
What Cass and Duela was doing could be called an interpretive dance, looking like they were mirroring each other as they circled once again and danced
"Every gesture~! Every move that she makes! Makes me feel like never before~!" James sang, playing along with the others while he bobbed his head slightly and a wide grin spread across his face as he thought about his love life, about every woman he had fallen for and how each one of them was special "Why do I have this growing need to be beside her? All these emotions that I never knew! Some for the world far beyond this place! Beyond the trees, above the clouds! Well, I see before me a new horizon!" James threw his arms up and clapped
The lights turned up and shone among the stage and crowd, which got the audience cheering.
"I wanna know~; can you show~ me? I wanna know about these strangers like me. Tell me more, please show~ me. Something's familiar about these strangers like me."
The lights dimmed down and soon focussed on James as he looked at the audience, a small moment of slowed music began to build.
"Come with me now to see my world. Where there's beauty beyond your dreams. Can you feel the things I feel. Right now. With you~?"
Garth's slow to fast tapping of the cymbals reverberated on the stage as they continued as Raven played on her keytar to accompany.
"Take my hand. There's a world I need to kno~o~o~ow~!"
The world seemed to fade away as James reached out with his voice as his melody brought tears to some of the audience, but also to his lovers. Garth's drums almost immediately came back as the excitement once returned.
"I wanna know! Can you show~ me? I wanna know 'bout these strangers like me!" James was singing from the heart, looking out at the crowed "Tell me more~, please show me~! Something is familiar, about the strangers like me~!"
"I~ want to know~!" James and three of the many women he held dear sang as one, the music coming to a soothing end
Out in front Cass and Duela ended their dance, their foreheads touching and hands pressed against each other. Like they were a reflection touching the mirror. The crowd cheered loudly as they saw not only a song and dance, but also how charismatic James was.
Back with the Justice League, Harley had returned and was comically crying as she was swayed by the music and dance herself "Oh my god!" she cheered
"Okay everyone!" he called "We are going to have a small break and then come back for the second half! So get a drink, a snack, go to the bathroom and enjoy! We will be back in ten minutes!" he said as everyone put down their instruments
Backstage the group were now cooling down as Garfield and Bart were working their butts off with Jinx's and Karen's supervision
"Hey." James waved
"Hey, guys!" Garfield called out and flew down.
"Sorry if we're a bit slow." Bart joked
"You guys were amazing!" Jinx and Karen smiled and hugged their lover.
"Man this is a rush!" Vic laughed "It is sorta like back in the football days!"
"Yeah, but no-one's getting gut rushed for three points." Dick added, patting his back
"We got anything to ear?" Rachel asked nervously
"Oh, yeah. Of course. We've got a whole spread in the back. Eight minutes, twenty seconds." Jinx informed, looking at her watch.
"Eat small and quick." James in formed
*outside*
Lois Lane was walking around the periphery of the concert's crowd, trying not to get buffeted by the excitement of the people. "Sir, a few questions for The Daily Planet."
"WHOO! This concert is amazing!" A youth cheered from the crowd behind the interviewer Lois was talking too making Lois sweatdrop
"Um, the sure. No problem." The interviewer nodded
"What do you think about the concert. What's your take?" Lois asked
"It is amazing! It's so great super heroes are doing such a thing for the community, and it isn't even their one!" the man explained happily
"TITANS RULE!" A voice called out from behind the man, jumping around "Yeah!"
"Thank you, Sir." Lois answered, going to another interviewer.
*Up high*
The Justice League where still watching calmly and enjoying the show... And they now had snacks
"Thanks for the snack run." Superman spoke as they looked on.
"No problem." Wally answered. "How're the Chocos, J'onn?"
"Hmm~." He hummed and snacked on them.
"Uncle J'onn... You know those are... Had for us." Megan blushed and looked away, as if trying to resist sin
"Hmm... But they're so good." He struggled to put the box down.
"What are you talking about?" Canary asked
"Chocos are basically a powerful addiction to us." Megan answered, struggling to keep her hands at her side.

"Pardon?"
"We can't eat them or... or we get violent withdrawals." Megan answered.
"Please take these away." He asked
"So... it's like drugs?" Superman asked
"Yes, basically." Megan and J'onn nodded
"So sorry. I didn't know." Wally apologised and got rid of the Chocos.
"My Chocos!" J'Onn said as he reached for them
"Don't, Uncle. You'll feel better later." She frowned making him groan
"Well, what do you think Hank?" Dawn asked
"I think this is awesome." Hank answered. "It's James' best idea."
"Party! Wahoo!" Holly cheered, spinning her jacket in the air
Both Dawn and Hank rolled their eyes and smiled. "Our sister." The two said in unison.
"Just don't throw your underwear at the star." Dawn joked
"C'mon. I'm not going to throw the ones I'm wearing!" Holly pouted "... I did it the other night when we were together."
"Whoa! TMI, sis!" Hank pointed out.

Soon, the lights came on as the band got back to work
