"Kadabra vs. Haunter! Ready, GO!"

Haunter shifted around in circles, trying to evade the confusion attack, but still got struck. It dove down, taking the brunt of it to reach Kadabra. Its eyes began to swirl.

Delia gulped. It tried hypnotizing Kadabra, like what happened with Red!

"Kabadra, don't you dare fall to it!" She screamed to no avail. Kadabra fell into a deep slumber.

"C'mon, Kadabra! All we need is one more attack," Delia cried.

Then she saw Kadabra take a deep breath and suck out some energy from Kadabra. Dream Eater.

"WAKE UP!"

If it didn't wake up, all of the work they had done would be in vain. Kadabra lay still on the ground, its chest growing and shrinking.

Haunter took another suck of dreams. Kadabra looked visibly weaker. It wouldn't hold on for much longer.

"NO!"

Haunter got closer to eat another dream, but Kadabra's eyes popped open.

"Psybeam!"

Its spoon lifted towards its forehead and emitted a colorful blast of energy at point-blank range. Haunter staggered back.

"Confusion!"

The psy pokemon held its ground and shot another ray of blue energy towards its opponent. It tanked the shot and retaliated with a darker wave of energy. The Night Shade attack hit Kadabra, sending it reeling on its back. The poor pokemon didn't respond.

"KADABRA IS UNABLE TO BATTLE!"

She reached her Fallen pokemon and slowly caressed its exhausted head. It opened its eyes to see hers, a reassuring ocean of blue against a bright sunset of hair. She called it back to her, and it gladly returned to its comfortable pokeball.

What will be her next champion? She had to make a decision, fast.

In a flash, she grabbed at her belt and found the right pokeball, one with a little bump at the top. She launched it at the field, and out emerged her boxing fiend. Hitmonchan punched at the air in intimidation and energy. Haunter didn't seem phased, yet the punching pokemon didn't seem to care.

"NEXT ROUND, BEGIN!"

Before Hitmonchan took a step farther, Haunter shot forward a flashing white light, knocking the punching pokemon stumbling around.

Delia knew what that meant.

"HITMONCHAN! SNAP OUT OF IT!"

Before it could try to shake it off, it swung its gloved fists around, only to smack itself in the face.

"Haunter," Agatha commanded. "Toxic!"

Haunter then threw purple sludge at its opponent.

It continued to stumble around, but now it took damage from the toxic sludge. Meanwhile, Haunter hovered near its next victim, sending out a violet ray of Night Shade and knocking Hitmonchan over. It tried getting back up, shaking away the confusion and gathering its footing.

"Now, Hitmonchan, BODY SLAM!"

It pumped its gloves and raced towards Haunter, but then Haunter sent another blast of Night Shade right at its opponent. Hitmonchan got close-lined upside the head and fell where it stood.

"HITMONCHAN IS DOWN!"

After calling it back, her face fell, and her hands caught themselves on her knees. One pokemon knocked out two of hers. She was down by one and needed to level the playing field. If she needed a fast pokemon, she had just the champion for that.

She tossed the next pokeball like a baseball pitcher, and out emerged her feathery chariot. All three heads squawked in intimidation like they were welcoming in the new day.

"DODRIO VS HAUNTER! Begin!"

"Dodrio," she called to her supercar of a pokemon, "take it down."
