To be honest , I'm not entirely certain on how to start this off. Things have come so far in the past few years and, to be blunt, this story shouldn't have taken me this long to finish. But life has a way screwing with your plans in ways you don't expect. It's been a long ride, but you know what? I'm happy with this ending. Let's check out some reviews!
Lordofrings- i think you missed the authors notes in the last chapter lol.
Reflective599- 1. I try to take from the comics when i can, meshing and molding things to fit better in my stories while still retaining their core origin, which makes my stories a bit more...feasible? Sensible? Lol you know what i mean.
2. Sure! I don't mind sharing those things. See #1 about BB and Blackfires origin stories lolol.
3. Indeed. Which brings me to...
Taylormade- Im glad you enjoyed it! To answer your questions, yes, the fetus farm was nuked too. As for the Cyborg/Jinx thing you came up with...well, I'll be damned. That was a pretty funny idea, one good enough to change my story up a bit to reflect that. But...i did it my way ;)
Also, those loose ends aren't quite as loose as you think...
And for the record, all BB had left on was his boxers by the time he figured it out. Raven was down to her shirt.
Mackenzie6426- thank you! Hope you enjoy the finale too!
Azarath Cat- Thank you, its been quite the journey lol.
Eris- be careful what you wish for...
Fatwhiteguy- well, things do change with the passing of time...
Guest- Indubitably!
TheSadOldOne- well, i do have things planned. And yes, Eddie was red and demonic befire he met Rose.
Mr. Ursine- well, i actually did say back at chapter 18 that the story was ending around 60 chapters lol. Things just didn't go as planned.
Hazard1122- Thank you! Hope you enjoy this too!
Walker- yeah, she came out of left field with it lmao
Luis519RS- I'm glad you enjoyed it, here's another :)
Annonymous- Thank you, hope you enjoy this chapter too!
Scarease- ...?
Stormhawk fan SHhype- Thanks for sticking around for this roller coaster, it's been one hellavu ride buddy.
Chadbunger- I'm glad you enjoyed it, really.
Now that that's done, you may now read the final chapter of Those Violet Eyes.
So Long and Thanks for all the Fish!
"Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but...you got on the boat with five books, right?"
"I did, yes."
"Then how did you get off the boat with thirty?"
"…"
"…"
"…"
"…magic."
"That's…not…what I meant." Garfield sighed and covered his face, wondering how he was supposed to keep up with her book collection when it exploded every time he looked away.
Seeing and feeling his exasperation, Raven chuckled and patted his arm. It had been a good vacation, even if Raven hadn't been able to get out of all the physical activities. Oddly enough, she had enjoyed rock climbing and she was pretty sure she had lost a pound the sheer stress of trying to surf.
She was sore, in more than one way, but it was a good feeling.
"I'm hungry." Emelia complained.
"Well, we're almost done here so you have to wait a little longer." Raven told her daughter. The three of them were standing in line to get off the boat, which was going slower than it should have been. Granted, Raven could just fly them away…
She sighed, knowing that, whether she liked it or not, they still had to check out. It was going to take forever.
And it did, at least to her and Emelia.
"Finally!" The little girl griped.
Garfield chuckled as he adjusted their luggage which then disappeared into one of Raven's portals shortly afterwards.
"Raven to the Watchtower." Raven called. "Requesting pickup and relocation, two adults and one child."
"Roger roger!" Came the reply.
Raven had just enough time to cock an eyebrow at Garfield, who shrugged right as they teleported.
When they arrived at the Watchtower, they saw who was at the controls: Shazaam. That explained it.
"Where to?" He asked as he spun a dial and let it keep spinning.
"Jump City Titans Tower." Garfield said, looking around. He saw Steel and Hawkgirl in the back having coffee. Off to the side from the teleportation platform, Metamorpho and Zatanna (he assumed it was her anyways, given that she was dressed similarly to Zachary Zatanna and Raven seemed to be ignoring her) were discussing something as the elemental man shifted his arm to something glowing green and gestured with it.
"Roger roger!" Shazaam said again with a chuckle.
"Someone's been watching Star Wars." Garfield snickered, which made the unusual hero grin as he adjusted the coordinates on the console.
"Is Doctor Fate in?" Raven asked aloud.
"Nah, he keeps a weird schedule. No telling when he'll pop up." Metamorpho replied.
"Thank you." Raven nodded at him, ignoring the glare she was getting from Zatanna.
Within moments they lit up once more and teleported.
Straight to the Titans Tower roof.
"Really?" Raven sighed right before a particularly strong gust of wind almost knocked her over.
Garfield caught her, and Emelia, and drug them over to the door. Once inside, the girls straightened out their hair, both of them grumbling the whole time.
"Why didn't he put us inside the tower?" Raven asked.
He knew it was a rhetorical question, but he answered anyways. "Dunno, but at least he got us to the tower."
Raven rolled her eyes and took Emelia by the hand. Together the three of them walked down the stairs and into the hallway…where they heard a very curious but unfortunately familiar sound.
"Cheesus Crust, is Jinx still sick?" Garfield asked in wonder. "How long do stomach viruses last?"
"Not eleven days, that's for sure." Raven waved them back away from the bathroom door they had approached and stepped closer. The sounds of Jinx throwing up ceased in a rather abrupt and uncomfortable way.
"Jinx? Are you dead?" Raven loudly called out. She knew the girl wasn't actually dead, but as violent as that vomiting sounded, she might have passed out.
Raven felt her approaching and backed way away from the door. When the door opened, she flinched. Jinx looked rough. Her hair was a complete mess, she looked pale (which, given her skin tone, was a remarkably frightful feat), and her eyes were both bloodshot and poofy.
"No, but I wish I was." Jinx said a dry, yet raspy, tone.
"You do look a little...frumpled." Raven inched away from her friend, a mask appearing on her face.
"Yeah. I'm dehydrated too." Jinx said as she stepped back into the bathroom. Raven could hear the water running.
"Cy's the doctor around here, he ain't fixed you up yet?" Garfield called from the other end of the hallway. How he and Emelia had made it down there so quickly and without her noticing was beyond Raven.
"He said it's the stomach flu, but doesn't know why it's lasting so long." Jinx called out.
Raven frowned. As much medical knowledge as she possessed, she couldn't disagree with that assessment. But something about it didn't feel right. It shouldn't be so…severe.
Against her better judgement and completely disregarding Jinx's privacy, Raven focused her powers on the former villain, searching for something, anything, that didn't feel like a natural part of Jinx's body.
She found her answer very quickly, centered around the girl's lower abdomen.
"So, funny story." Raven said slowly as she listened to the hextress gulp water. "I just used my powers to inspect you and…miiiiiight have found the answer."
There was a pause in the drinking, then Jinx's head popped through the doorway. "Why didn't you do this when it started?"
"I also assumed it was a stomach virus."
"And after that?"
"Invasion of privacy?"
"I don't give a crap about that when I'm this sick."
"Ah. Well…"
"Spit it out already, what's wrong with me?" Jinx snapped, growing impatient.
"You're pregnant."
"…"
"…"
"…what."
Raven threw her hands up defensively. "I sense another life form in you, an actual life. Sooooo….yeah. Pregnant. That or you have the most horrific parasite ever living inside you."
"I don't recall ever hearing about morning sickness being this…bad." Jinx said slowly, thoughtfully.
A medical book dropped out of a portal and into Raven's hand, where she flipped to the index, then far back in the book. She scanned the pages quickly.
"Hyperemesis Gravidarum." She said. "Severe Morning Sickness. Confirmed instances of it being confused with a stomach virus."
"Well, just screw me sideways." Jinx sighed.
"You know, that's probably how-"
"Oh shut up." Jinx snapped.
There was a silence that followed that was so awkward that even Raven was at a loss of words.
"I…need to go ahead and rip this band aid off, don't I?" Jinx asked.
"Well…yes. Even if you didn't tell anyone else about it, your thin frame would start to show it around twelve weeks, if not a bit sooner. My guess is that you're about seven weeks along now." Raven gave her a small nod. "So…yes. You need to have that talk."
Jinx covered her face, inhaled deeply, and let out a long, frustrated sigh.
"Feel better?" Raven asked, slightly amused at the mild response.
Jinx shook her head. "Not really. But at least I made it to twenty before getting pregnant. Come on, this is gonna be weird."
"I forgot you were older than me, to be honest."
Jinx shrugged. "I don't celebrate birthdays, so half the time I never remember my own."
"That I can understand."
They went down the hallway and around the corner to find Garfield and Emelia still waiting. The changeling raised an eyebrow but Jinx shook her head.
"Not now. Do it later."
He laughed and the four of them made their way to the common room.
"Friend Raven, friend Beast Boy! You have returned!" Starfire called out as she stirred something blue into a bowl.
"Yes we ha-" Raven stopped in mid sentence as Martin floated from behind his mother. "Eh?"
"Emmy! Looka at me! Imma warrear like momma now!" The little boy giggled.
Emelia, Mister Spooky in hand, just stared at him slack jawed.
"YOOOOOOOOO! DUUUDDEE!" Garfield's jaw hit the floor. "We weren't gone that long! What happened?!"
"You're not gonna believe this, but…Blackfire popped up and taught Martin how to fly." Robin chuckled as he sipped coffee at the table.
"Blackfire?!" Both Beast Boy and Raven exclaimed.
"Yeah, after Star went all ham on her!" Cyborg laughed as he paused the game he and Eddie were playing.
"She knocked that bitch clean out!" Rose hopped over the couch, revealing that she had her armor on. She practically ran over to Raven, hands out and making a grabbing gesture. "Come here booty, I missed you!"
"Sounds like we missed some things." Raven said as she nonchalantly swatted Rose's hands away.
"No kidding." Garfield chuckled as he set Emelia down at the kitchen table.
"Hey Jinx, you feeling any better?" Eddie asked. "I can pop over to the store if you need anything."
"No thank you, I'm okay for the moment. The baby isn't acting up." Jinx said almost casually.
The room went dead silent before Cyborg's head whipped around at lightspeed.
"The. WHAT?" He all but yelled, eyes the size of dinner plates.
"I didn't stutter, Stone." She stared him down for a moment before she had a wicked idea that made her smile evilly. "And we are soooooo gonna take pictures to send to Brother Blood. He's gonna be pissed."
"You are going to have a bumgorf?! Many congratulations to you!" Starfire squealed after Robin translated pregnancy for her. "I must prepare the Feast of Fligarfluk to celebrate!"
As the congratulations were going around (and everyone became quietly terrified as Starfire pulled out some weird black meat and beat it with a hammer as it creaked), a certain someone couldn't keep her mouth shut.
"Hey, uh, I have a question." Rose held up her hand. "So, like, you're telling me, with that bigass metal body Cyborg's got that-"
"Drop it, Rose." Robin said sternly.
"Hey! I'm not being demeaning or sexualizing this, I just want to know if he really still has his di-"
"Drop. It." Raven said louder.
"-or is it like an attachment with like a splooge function or maybe its like Go-Go Gadget Extendable Co-"
Eddie teleported over to Rose and held up Felicia to her mother, who, surprisingly, jumped back and bolted.
"NO! NOT THE TITTY!" She yelled as she ran out the door. This made both Raven and Beast Boy cock at eyebrow at the red man.
"She's teething, so she's bitey." He shrugged as he coddled his daughter, who was chewing on a toy. "She bit Rose pretty hard on the boob the other day."
"Ah." Raven said as Garfield chuckled. Raven would have to figure out how to give the little girl just her healing powers back, but it would be worth it if she didn't bite anyone.
"Got nothing to say, huh Stone?" Jinx said as she made her way over to him. When he didn't answer, she looked closer to find a little message had popped up in his cybernetic eye.
Error 404: Cyborg not found
She rolled her eyes and smacked his arm panel open, then set about hard resetting him.
"Friend Jinx?" Starfire called out as she floated around Beast Boy as he started making food for himself and Emelia.
"Yeah?" Jinx grunted as she fiddle with the screen. His arm was damn near immovable when he was powered down.
"Are you perhaps in the need of the supplies of babies?"
"Yeah." She paused. "Well, not yet, obviously. But I will later."
"May I assist you with this?"
"If you really want to, sure." Jinx grinned as she initiated the hard reset, knowing she did it faster than Gizmo ever could.
"How wonderful!" Starfire squealed again. "Friend Raven, should we…?"
Raven shrugged. "Sure. Not like we can't get more."
Robin, Beast Boy, and Red Devil were all mystified as the two young women floated over to the wall on the right side of the room. There was about ten feet of blank wall between the two of them when they both reached out and touched the wall. There was an audible click before the wall lowered to reveal…
"Uh. Kori?" Robin called out in a slightly strained tone. "Why is there a secret compartment full of…baby food?"
Starfire just looked at him and smiled.
Robin started sweating.
"Excuse me, sir, but asking dumb questions is Gar's specialty." Raven said as she inspected the glass bottles for dust. None at all, which was good.
"That's right! Dumb questions are my-hey!" Garfield glared at his girlfriend.
"Kori?" Robin eyed the rows and rows and rows of diapers. "W-we already have Martin. Shouldn't we…ya know, wait a bit?"
"I love you Robin." Starfire said sweetly.
Robin started sweating profusely.
"Yo, what happened? I blanked out for a sec cause I swear I heard-" Cyborg said as he came to, then paused as he saw the hidden supplies. "Huh?"
"Focus, Stone, focus!" Jinx snapped at him, lightly smacking him upside the head.
He looked at her and his eyes went wide. "Are…are you actually…"
She nodded. "Yeah. Raven figured it out."
Cyborg stared at her before he covered his face. "Oh my god."
"Yep."
"Jinx…Jen…I-"
"You don't have to say it, Victor. I know."
Cyborg was a bit surprised, both because that was the first time she used his name and because she was just rolling with it like it was nothing. "How?"
"Did you really think I forgot about the whole Strings of Fate or whatever they were that time Raven and Mento fiddled with Emelia's powers?" Jinx looked away. "That blue string of regret wasn't one way."
"Well, I, uh, know that cause-"
"Cause we've been fooling around for a couple of months, yeah." Jinx crossed her arms.
"Yeah, but we didn't actually talk about…this kinda stuff. Or any of it, really."
"I know. We didn't have to."
Cyborg was rightfully confused. "We didn't?"
"No. You gave me the password to your personal computer, remember? That way I could watch movies or surf the web in private."
"Uh…yeah? What does that-"
Jinx shifted guiltily. "I sort of…wandered through your files and found all the love and apology letters you never sent me. All six thousand four hundred and ninety two of them."
It wasn't often that the other Titans saw Cyborg blush with embarrassment, but he'd be a damned liar if he tried to deny it now.
"Y-you saw them huh?" He said, silently berating himself for stuttering. He was supposed to be the cool big brother figure of the group, not…this.
"Yeah. Read most of them too." Jinx turned her head away and Cyborg swore she was blushing too. "Look, I'm not good with all that mushy shit, okay? But…do you remember when you betrayed the Hive and I told you that you could have been one of us?"
"I do, yeah."
"When I said that, I wasn't thinking of the Hive at all. I just wanted you to stay there, with me."
It was at this time that it really sank into Cyborg's head that Raven's therapy sessions really did help everyone. The Jinx from five months ago wouldn't have opened up like this. She would have danced around the topic like the mischievous cat she was. But right here, right now…
He wrapped his arms around her and she leaned her head against him.
"You know we should sit down and have a real talk, right?" He asked.
"Yeah, but we'll do that later." She sighed. "Right now, I just need to…sit. Sit and process this."
"Okay." Cyborg kissed her on the head.
"Awww, this is nice." Rose said softly as she slipped back into the room and sidled far past her boyfriend and daughter and into the kitchen. "A real Kodiak moment huh?"
Beast Boy grinned, then turned into a huge bear.
Eddie frowned. "Not that Kodiak. Get that bear out of here!"
Beast Boy giggled to himself as he shifted back.
BeepBeep! "Watchtower to Titans Tower, come in."
"Computer, open channel." Cyborg said. The screen fizzled for a moment before it revealed the caller.
"Aaand there goes our happy moment." Raven sighed in exasperation.
"Why were you asking for my father, Raven?" Zatanna asked with no small amount of venom.
"I wasn't asking for your father, I was asking for Doctor Fate." Raven snapped back. "It has nothing to do with you."
"The hell it doesn't! If you think I'm gonna let your demonic ass anywhere near my-"
"Woah woah woah, bitch!" Rose angrily interrupted her and made her way to the console. "Look, I don't know who the fuck you are, who the fuck you think you are, where the fuck you popped up from, or even where the fuck you think you're going, but if you don't back bibbity bobbity back the fuck up from my girl Raven, then I'm gonna come up to your little treehouse in the stars and skullfuck you with the biggest strapon I can find!"
There was a collective facepalm from the rest of the room and Shazaam could be seen leaning in behind shocked Zatanna.
"That sounds kinda hot." He said.
"Shut up, Billy!" Zatanna snapped before looking back at Rose. "I'm sorry, who's this bitch defending a demon?"
"I am the bitch who will fuck you up if you don't stop calling Raven a demon, you fucking Criss Angel fangirl wannabe!"
"Fuck!" Felicity said loudly.
"That's right, sweetie! Mommas gonna teach Stripperella here a lesson!" Rose said loudly and smugly.
"Don't you ever repeat those words." Raven told Emelia sternly.
"Alright, bitch, if you wanna go so bad-" Zatanna was interrupted when there was a loud chime and a golden flash behind the woman.
"Doctor Fate, Zatanna's being hyper aggressive again!" Shazaam called out.
"Damnit Billy!" Zatanna growled.
"We've talked about this, child. You need to move past your frustration and anger-" Fate said to Zatanna, who gestured to the screen.
"I know, I know! But can you blame me when Raven wants to speak to you?" She said defensively.
"Yes, I can." Fate replied, pushing past her. "Did you wish to speak to me, Raven?"
Raven nodded and came forward. "Yes, I did. In private."
"Very well." Fate said, ignoring Zatanna's protests behind him.
He disappeared with another chime and golden flash, then reappeared in the same manner right beside the Titans computer.
"Doctor Fate!" Zatanna cried out, "You shouldn't-"
Doctor Fate reached over and hit the End Call button, cutting her off. The Titans stared at him for a moment.
"The ceaseless prattling of a child whining for a parent that committed themselves to the greater good is an unnecessary irritation." Fate said apathetically.
Raven wasn't sure how to respond to that, so she let it be and gestured for him to follow her. Waving off her boyfriend, she teleported herself and the Lord of Order down into the basement.
We're back ten minutes and everything went sideways. She thought to herself. At least I didn't have to wait long.
Doctor Fate looked around at the room, white walled and floored with a rather curious technological pattern to it that held traces of magic.
"Runes?" He asked, running his hand down the wall.
"Sort of." Raven replied. "This was a room the other Titans built to try to protect me from Deathstroke when he was Trigon's herald. They blended runes from my books with Cyborg's technology."
"I see. Creative, but not nearly strong enough to keep a demon like your father out."
"I know." She gestured to something off to the side and suddenly the room began to glow and hum with energy.
"You activated it? Why?" Fate asked.
"It has a function to block out any prying eyes. And now-" Raven uttered a few words of power and the room glowed black, "Even fewer beings will be able to peek in here."
Doctor Fate did not respond at first, but eventually he intoned his own magic and yet another shimmering barrier appeared, albeit golden.
"What is this about, Raven?" He asked.
"I have one question I need to ask you, though it may lead to more questions."
"If it's within reason I will answer it."
"I know you will." Raven said firmly. "You do owe me for not getting involved with Trigon."
"Excuse me?" Finally, a bit of emotion from the Lord of Order, even if it was just amused surprise.
"Don't play dumb. You could have helped me when I came to Earth looking to defeat my father, you could have helped me by denying his summoning, and you could have helped me fighting my father." Raven raised an eyebrow at him, but it was by no means friendly. "But you didn't. So yes. You. Owe. Me."
They stared each other down for what felt like eternity before Doctor Fate said a single word.
"Ask."
"What is the Red?" She asked, cutting straight to the point. She actually felt the real surprise coming off of him this time.
"How do you know about that?" He asked.
"I've come to find out that my boyfriend Beast Boy has a very intimate connection with the Red. He is designated as the Alpha by beings calling themselves the Parliament of Limbs. He is considered a champion, a fallback, and a future totem. They refused to give me more information than that, quoting that knowledge is dangerous. I have been searching for months for any information concerning the Red and found nothing. If Garfield is in danger, I need to know."
Doctor Fate did not answer right away. He simply floated there. Raven waited patiently, for she knew this being had vast quantities of information that she didn't. She also knew that, as a Lord of Order, he had the authority to give such information.
"I cannot give you the information that you seek " He finally said.
She raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
"You need to be…more than you are." He said mysteriously.
Raven's eyebrow rose even higher. "More than I am? I was trained by a goddess and overpowered Trigon the Terrible! How much more do I need?!"
"More." He said firmly. "Azar was a minor goddess and Trigon was not at the peak of his power, as you well know. There are beings in this world that can take you in a fight."
She stared at him as she processed this. "…are you saying that I need to become a Lord of Order or an equivalent to get this information?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"The Red is amongst the foundations of existence and they are separate from the Realm of the Gods. For you to learn the truth of it and its entirety means that you must be able to protect existence itself should the need arise."
"Existence itself?" She asked. "Not just this world?"
"Yes."
Raven mulled this over for a good, long moment. Was he talking about elementals? Surely they couldn't be such a major factor, they barely had a thought process. Unless…they were some kinda of higher form of elementals. Wait, could they be primordials? Gods above, if that was the case then this was definitely above her pay grade!
But still…
She made a face. "Okay. Train me."
"I beg your pardon?"
"Repetition is not my forte, Doctor Fate. Do not make me repeat myself."
"Arrogance is unbecoming of you, Raven."
"And your hypocrisy stagnates in the air like a fetid odor that even demons find repugnant." Raven snorted before dropping her shield and turning off the room's barrier.
"Your request is not something to take lightly, child." Doctor Fate said as he dropped his own barrier. "This will take many years to accomplish."
"We'll see about that."
When Raven returned to the common room, alone, she found quite the quarrel going on.
"Fish is not meat, so you can eat it!" Rose yelled.
"DUDE! IT COMES FROM AN ANIMAL! LITERALLY!" Garfield roared back.
"Friends! Please calm down!" Starfire said loudly.
"I was calm until someone started screeching at my like a deranged barn owl!" Rose snapped.
"You. Threw. A. Fish stick. At. Me!" The changeling growled. "FISH ARE FRIENDS! NOT FOOD!"
"It was a joke! You make them all the time!"
"That's not even remotely funny!"
"Throwing the fish stick was a little funny, but you didn't have to follow it up with a joke about it being his dad, babe." Eddie said, standing between his girlfriend and his friend.
"Yeah, look, me and BB at each other about meat versus no meat all the time, but there is, ya know, a line that we don't cross." Cyborg said as he pushed Beast Boy a bit further from Rose. Behind him, Jinx picked up a piece of tofu from the changelings plate and bit into it. She made a face, then reached into the open fridge and pulled out the hot sauce. A squirt of that seemed to improve the taste, 'cause she started chowing down on the rest of the tofu moments later after dowsing them in hot sauce. Hopefully she wouldn't throw this up too.
Down on the floor sat the oblivious Felicity, chewing on her toy, and Emelia, who was sitting very close to her.
"Is that good?" Emelia asked, leaning in. Fifi stared at her for a moment before she smiled.
"Fuck!" She said through a mouth full of toy.
Emelia gave her a look that said that she didn't know how to respond to that, then looked at Martin, who was walking up. He gave her a very Robin-like shrug.
"Why is there almost quadruple the diapers compared to everything else?" Robin asked as he stared at said items in the previously hidden cache, also oblivious to the argument behind him. Said argument was heating up to the point where Starfire flew over and snatched both Beast Boy and Rose up.
"Calm. Down." Starfire said slowly and emphatically with a smile that suggested that they wouldn't like it if she had to repeat herself.
They did, albeit begrudgingly.
Raven couldn't help but to let out a helpless chuckle. Her life had been nothing but one roller coaster after another. Raised by a goddess to fight her demonic father, trained as a superhero to protect the people, becoming a foster mother, falling in love, and now training to become one of the most powerful magical beings in existence.
Not bad for someone who was supposed to end the world at sixteen.
"Whatchu standin' over here all quiet-like for?" Garfield asked as he approached her.
"Just thinking." She said as he wrapped his arms around her.
"Aboooout?"
"About how much I love you."
He cocked an eyebrow at her. "Really? How much is that?"
"Enough to tell you that you aren't getting any kisses until brush that tofu smell from your breath." She said with a teasing grin.
Garfield rolled his eyes. "Oh come on, it isn't that bad!"
"It's almost as bad as your socks."
"What? Again with the socks! Whhhyyyy?!"
Raven started to say something but was interrupted by a shriek that made everyone jump. It was immediately followed by the sounds of crying. And the source was…
"Emelia!" Raven teleported over to her adopted daughter and picked up the crying girl. "What's wrong, what happened?!"
"She bit mmmmeeeeee!" Emelia pointed her bloody finger at Felicity.
Raven could have facepalmed a crater into her head. "We were literally just told a few minutes ago that she was teething and biting! Why were you so close to her?"
"I don't know what teething means!"
"You do know what biting means though!" Raven said in exasperation as he healed her daughters finger.
"I didn't know it would hurt! Daddy bites you all the time and you don't cry!"
Raven sighed deeply as the others began to chuckle and snicker.
She foresaw a lot of meditation in her future.
