Vengeance: Night of Champions: 24/6/2007

WWE Vengeance: Night of Champions was live at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The event began with a video package of the event and its theme, "Night of Champions," followed by opening pyrotechnics. The first match was between Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch and The Hardys (Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy) for the World Tag Team Championship. Cade and Matt started the match, with Matt in control. The two teams tagged in and out until Cade and Murdoch attempted to walk out of the match, but the Hardys went after them, and brought them back into the ring. Jeff attempted a Swanton Bomb onto Cade, but Murdoch interfered on Cade's behalf. Matt tried to interfere on Jeff's behalf, but was stopped by the referee. Murdoch used this as an advantage, and pushed Jeff off the turnbuckle, leading to Cade performing a powerbomb. Cade gained the pinfall on Jeff to win the match and retain the titles.

The second match was between Chavo Guerrero and Jimmy Wang Yang for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. The match began with Yang and Guerrero locking up, followed by Yang in control through most of the match. After Yang missed a moonsault, Guerrero executed a Gory Bomb. Shortly after, Guerrero performed a Frog Splash on Yang. Afterwards, Guerrero pinned Yang to win the match and retain the Cruiserweight Championship.

The third match was between CM Punk and Johnny Nitro, who subbed in for the absent Chris Benoit (unknown of killing his family and himself at the time), for the ECW World Championship. The match started off with Punk attempting a crossbody on Nitro. Nitro countered, however, and executed an enzuigiri. Nitro delivered a corkscrew neckbreaker and pinned Punk to win the match to become the new ECW World Champion

The fourth match was between Santino Marella and Umaga for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. The match began with Umaga in control, squashing Marella. Two minutes into the match, Umaga was punching Marella uncontrollably. The referee disqualified Umaga when he refused to stop after giving a five count, and Marella retained the title. Umaga, following the disqualification, delivered a splash and a Samoan Spike to Santino.

The fifth match was between Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) and Ric Flair for the WWE United States Championship. The match started with Flair executing a series of backhand chops to MVP. Flair kept the advantage and applied the figure four leglock. MVP countered, by executing a low blow. MVP then performed the Playmaker and pinned Flair to retain the United States Championship.

The sixth match was an open challenge by Deuce 'n Domino to any tag team for the WWE Tag Team Championship, which was accepted by Jimmy Snuka, who just happens to be Deuce's real-life father and Sgt. Slaughter. Snuka and Slaughter controlled most of the match; however, Deuce 'n Domino got the win after Deuce pinned Snuka. After the match, Deuce 'n Domino attacked Snuka and Slaughter until Tony Garea and Rick Martel came into the ring to assist Snuka and Slaughter.

The seventh match was between Edge and Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship. This was a "Last Chance match", meaning if Batista lost, he could not get another shot at the World Heavyweight Championship as long as Edge was champion. Batista originally won the match by disqualification after Edge executed a low blow; however, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long restarted the match with the stipulation that Edge could lose the title by disqualification. Edge won the match after Batista was counted out, thus retaining the title, and with the match stipulation, Batista would be unable to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship as long as Edge was the champion. After the match, in complete frustration, Batista attacked Edge and performed a Batista Bomb on him outside of the ring onto the ground before leaving him with the title.

The eighth match was Melina against Candice Michelle for the WWE Women's Championship. After a back and forth match, Michelle executed a spinning heel kick on Melina to win the Women's Championship.

Now it was time for the WWE Championship match.

In the arena, Bobby Lashley's theme hit and he came out to a decent reaction from the fans. Lashley was a former two-time ECW Champion and WWE United States Champion. Tonight, he hopes to win his first WWE Championship to that list and become a 3-time World Champion, counting his two ECW World title wins of course.

"Introducing the opponents. First, from Colorado Springs, Colorado...BOBBY LASHLEY!" Lillian Garcia introduced the former ECW World Heavyweight Champion who enters the ring and his theme dies down.

Mick Foley's theme hits next and the Hardocre Legend came out to a huge pop from the crowd. He was dressed in Cactus Jack attire. The last time Foley won the WWE Championship was in 1999, he hoped to win it again in 2007 here tonight. "And From Long Island, New York...MICK FOLEY!" Foley got into the ring and nodded at Lashley who nodded back in respect, but it was every man for himself in this match, especially when the WWE Championship was concerned.

King Booker's theme hit next and he came out with Queen Sharmell at his side. "Next, from Houston, Texas, being accompanied by Queen Sharmell...KING BOOKER!" Booker got into the ring and posed while Lashley and Foley stood in their corners, watching with unimpressed looks on their faces.

Randy Orton's theme hit next and out came the Legend Killer. Orton's only world title was the World Heavyweight Championship back in 2004, where he became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion at 24 years old, joining Bladewolf and Brock Lesnar in holding a world title at a young age, Bladewolf at 21 for the WWE Championship, Lesnar at 25 years old for the WWE Championship, and Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Championship.

"And from St. Louis, Missouri, he is the Legend Killer...RANDY ORTON!" Orton enters the ring and poses on the turnbuckle befor ehe gets down, eyeing Foley who stared back. All four men stared each other down.

John Cena's theme hits next and out comes Cena to a big pop with some boos, but it was the loudest reaction thus far. "And from West Newbury, Massachusetts...JOHN CENA!" Cena runs down the ring and slides into it, throwing his hat off followed by his shirt. Cena was a 3-time WWE Champion, who looks to make it 4th here tonight by beating the very man who beat him to win it and has held onto it since then.

OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!

'Oh, ah, ah, ah, ah! Get up, come on get down with the sickness!'

Down with the Sickness plays to the loudest pop of the night, no boos heard, and out comes the Bladewolf with the WWE Championship around his waist, baseball bat in his right hand. He makes his way down the ramp towards the ring.

"And from Death Valley, he is the current WWE Champion, The Wolf of Darkness and Destruction...THE BLADEWOLF!" Bladewolf slides into the ring after putting the bat down and he stares the other five men down who all want what he has. He takes off his title and raises it to cheers from the fans.

He takes his coat off and hands his title to the referee who holds the title up to show it is one the line before he hands it to someone at ringside before he calls for the bell.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

As soon as the bell rang, Booker bailed out of the ring and stood next to Sharmell. Bladewolf was in the middle of the ring, looking at the other four men who want a piece of him. Bladewolf smirks and gestures for one of them to come at him. The person who took that offer up was Orton who runs at Bladewolf only to be met with a big boot, then Bladewolf slides out of the ring and decks Booker with a clothesline. Bladewolf took a step to Sharmell which made her run away from the action. Bladewolf turned his attention back to Booker and grabbed him, tossing him into the barricade where the WWE Champion unloads with lefts and rights.

Back in the ring, Cena punched Orton, which followed up with Lashley hitting a back body drop on Orton, Cena then came with a bulldog on Orton and Foley ran at Orton, hitting a Cactus clothesline that sent both Orton and him over the top rope and down to the floor.

Outside the ring, Bladewolf and Booker were still going at it when Booker clotheslines Bladewolf then sent him over the barricade.

Back in the ring, Cena faced off with Lashley, but Booker hit Cena with a forearm to knock him out of the ring, landing close to where Foley and Orton were. Lashley took Booker down with a clothesline, then picked him him up and hit him with a body slam, before he sends Booker over the top rope to the floor with a clothesline. Lashley looked at the four competitors before he runs, rebounds off the ropes...AND DIVES OVER THE TOP ROPE WITH A FLYING CROSSBODY BLOCK DIVE!

Lashley got to his feet and stood tall over the four downed men before he noticed the Bladewolf in the ring and he slides back in the crowd cheering as the two strong men faced off and went eye to eye for the first time since the 2006 Royal Rumble. Lashley struck first with a right hand, which Bladewolf retaliates with a hard right punch of his own, then he knees Lashley in the stomach and hits a right forearm to the back of Lashley before whipping him into the corner, runs only to bet with double boots from Lashley.

Lashley runs for a clothesline but Bladewolf ducked it, grabs Lashley from behind and hits a German Suplex across the ring. Bladewolf gets to his feet, and then hits a leg drop across Lashley's throat. Bladewolf gets to a knee and starts hammering away at Lashley's forehead before Lashley fights back and hammers away at the Bladewolf with lefts and rights, then gets to his feet, grabs Bladewolf and lifts him up into a military press and slams him to the mat hard, making Bladewolf arch his back in pain.

Lashley beats his chest before he grabs Bladewolf and Irish whips him into the corner hard enough to make Bladewolf stumble off and Lashley lifts him up...AND HITS A SPINEBUSTER! LASHLEY HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THR-! BLADEWOLF KICKS OUT!

Lashley gets to his feet and grabs Bladewolf again, pulls him to his feet only to be given a uppercut by the Bladewolf, who then tackles Lashley into the corner and hits several shoulder thrusts into Lashley's stomach before he grabs Lashley and hits a belly-to-belly suplex. Lashley stumbled to his feet and turned around into a hard clothesline. Bladewolf hooked the leg but Lashley kicked out at two!

Bladewolf gets to his feet, grabs Lashley and rebounds him off the ropes and goes for a hard right but Lashley ducks it, rebounds off the ropes...AND NAILS BLADEWOLF WITH A SPEAR! HE HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THRE-! CENA BREAKS IT UP!

Bladewolf rolls out the ring as Cena and Lashley faced off again, which led to Lashley hitting a spinebuster. Lashley sent Cena face first into the steel steps. Lashley cleared off the ECW announce table at ringside, but then Orton showed up with a forearm to the face.

Foley went after Orton with a running clothesline. Booker T with a running forearm on Booker. Foley sent Booker into the barricade, but then Booker whipped Foley knee first into the steel steps. Orton with a backbreaker on Lashley on the floor. Lashley blocked an RKO attempt by Orton, but then Cena grabbed Lashley, lifted him up...AND HIT THE FU THROUGH THE ANNOUNCE TABLE!

Booker went after Cena with punches followed by a heel kick to the head for two. Booker with knee lifts to Cena, then a hard whip into the turnbuckle and Cena fought back with punches. Booker came back with a kick to the gut followed by a Scissors Kick for two as Orton broke up the pin.

Cena got back up with a shoulder tackle to Orton, Cena with a shoulder tackle to Booker and a spinning slam. Cena did the "you can't see me" hand gesture, bounced off the ropes and came running...INTO AN RKO OUT OF NOWHERE! ORTON HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THRE-! FOLEY BREAKS IT UP!

Foley worked over Orton with the corner punches followed by a running knee to the face against the turnbuckle, which was a common Foley move. Foley with a Double Arm DDT and then Foley brought out Mr. Socko from under his shirt.

Booker got into the ring...AND NAILED FOLEY WITH A SUPERKICK! Foley was knocked out the ring due to the Superkick. Bladewolf slides into the ring and took Booker down from behind before he turned around...INTO AN RKO FROM ORTON! Bladewolf got up, stumbling from the RKO before he was hooked up...AND HIT WITH THE BOOK-END!

Orton and Booker hit a double clothesline to knock each other down. Foley threw Socko into the crowd and Foley brought a chair into the ring. Foley charged, Booker ducked and Foley hit Lashley in the head with the chair to knock Lashley off the apron to the floor. Foley hit Booker with the chair as well. Foley with a chair to Cena, who definitely got the hands up to block it a bit.

Orton got back in the ring to knock down Foley with a punch to the back. Orton ran at Foley...AND HITS THE PUNT KICK TO THE HEAD! Orton turns around...INTO A SPEAR FROM LASHLEY! Lashley breathed heavily as he glared down at Orton befor ehe turned around only to be lifted up...AND HIT WITH THE FU!
