Nelson, Lindsey, and Chuck were gathered in front of Chris' portal and was Chuck pacing the floor.
"There's no doubt about it. Chris built this machine to teleport himself to Sonic's world." he said.
"Then let's use it to find him." Nelson said.
"Unfortunately, Chris seemed to have designed the machine so that nobody but him could be teleported."
"What?"
"Can't you reprogram it?" Lindsey asked but Chuck shook his head.
Lindsey cried into her Nelson's shoulder.
"There is one thing. Even though we can't teleport ourselves, it seems we can use the machine to teleport material objects to Sonic's world." Chuck said.
As Chuck typed on a computer, Nelson and Lindsey look up with hope.
"Really?" Nelson asked.
At Angel Island Vanilla was standing alone at the empty Master Emerald altar.
"I wonder where Cream and the others are and how they're doing... I hope everything's okay." Vanilla said.
Suddenly there was a bright light where the Master Emerald usually rests. When it dies down, there were boxes of stuff. A baseball fell off the pile and came to rest in front of Vanilla, who picked it up.
"This looks like-" she started but was cut off when a pile of clothes fell on her.
In the Chaotix' office Vector was resting when the phone rang.
"Charmy, get the phone." Vector said and a tired Charmy flew down from upstairs, picked up the phone and dropped it on Vector's head. "Gahh! That's not what I meant!"
"You'd better answer before they hang up." Charmy said.
"You little-" Vector started and answered the phone. "I already told you the check's in the mail!" he said on the phone.
"Vector, is that you?" Vanilla asked over the phone.
"Ah! Cream's mother! How've you been?"
At Cream's house Vanilla was on the phone talking to Vector.
"I'm calling because I need your help."
"My agency's at your service, ma'am!"
"I'd like to explain a job to you in person."
At the Chaotix' office.
"Sure! We'll come over right away!" Vector on the phone said blushing.
Then he hung up the phone, whose cradle was still resting on his sore head.
"Ugh!" he said an Charmy found the sight hilarious. "What are you laughing at?"
Charmy's laughter immediately turned to waterworks and Vector put the phone back.
"Hey, don't cry."
Then Charmy stopped crying.
"Oh. Okay." he said.
"Now where's Espio?"
"He's right there."
Espio was meditating in the corner.
"Get me the pepper mill!" Vector said.
"Sure, boss." Charmy said.
Soon Vector was grinding pepper over Espio's head then sneezed, looked up at a grinning Vector and Charmy.
"Can't you buy an alarm clock?" Espio asked.
At Angel Island the Chaotix were meeting with Vanilla.
"All of this suddenly... appeared out of nowhere. Chris' family must have sent his belongings. He's traveling in space with Cream, and I was hoping you could deliver these things to their ship. And please check on Cream; I've been worried about her." Vanilla said.
"Don't worry, ma'am! We'll take care of it no problem!" Vector said blushing.
"Vector." Espio said.
"What's the matter?"
"We can't do this job."
"How come?"
"If you think we're cruising the galaxy without a ship, you're spaced out."
"Where can we get a ship?"
Suddenly a spaceship descended and landed at the base of the altar.
"Looks like that problems solved." Charmy said.
Vanilla bowed.
"I hope you boys have a safe trip." she said.
On the Blue Typhoon Bridge.
"It looks peaceful out there." Tails said.
"No sign of any Metarex." Chris said.
They exchange thumbs-ups. Amy was sipping tea and reading a magazine. Cream and Cosmo were looking out the window.
"It's nice to travel in space when you can take the time to stargaze." Cream aid.
"They really are beautiful." Cosmo said
Meanwhile Sonic and Knuckles were playing chess and Knuckles was struggling to make a move.
"Why don't you move your king?" Sonic asked and stood up. "Well, call me when you make your move. I'mgonna go for a run." he ran around the outside of the Typhoon." said and
Knuckles finally decided on a move and moved his black knight.
"That's check- wha?!" he said and looked up to see that Sonic gone. "Where'd Sonic go?" he asked and saw Sonic run by the window, and carried the chess game outside but he didn't see him. "Hey! Sonic! It's your move! ... You're not giving up, are ya?"
Sonic finally saw and skid to a halt, but since there was no friction in space, he ended up floating out into space.
"Sonic!" Knuckles said while Sonic panicked as he floated further and further away from the Typhoon. "That's just great! Sonic can't get back, so somebody has to go after him!"
A few minutes later...
"Say what? Sonic can't get back to the ship?" Amy said.
"And he's getting farther away from us every second!" Knuckles said.
"We have to go rescue him now!" she cried out in shock."
"I know, but how will we get to him?"
"I got an idea, but first, we need to find a rope." Amy said and they rook off running.
A few minutes later Knuckles was back outside the ship with some rope.
"Hang in there, Sonic. I'm comin'." he said.
Using the rocket thrusters strapped to his back, he flew in the direction Sonic went in. The rope tethered him to the ship, preventing him from floating away as well.
On the Blue Typhoon bridge twinkle could be seen in space as Amy returned to the bridge.
"What's the matter?" Amy asked.
"We're being followed!" Cream said.
"That ship will catch up to us soon." Cosmo said.
They could see a spaceship in front of them. The holo-map projects distance between the ship and the Typhoon. Notably, the other ship was carrying the Chaotix' office on top of it.
"Who are they?" Amy asked.
"We can't be sure yet." Chris said.
"But they're probably Metarex!" Tails said.
Chris scanned the ship.
"Our sensors aren't picking up any weapons on the ship." he said.
"Do you know where Sonic and Knuckles are?" Cream asked.
"Sonic slipped off the ship, so Knuckles had to go take a rocket back and go rescue him." Amy said.
Chris and Tails were shocked.
"But we could have gone after him in the Blue Typhoon!" Tails said.
"Right now, we have to worry about getting the ship battle-ready. That other ship is definitely trying to intercept us." Chris said.
Cream and Cosmo looked back at the ship in front of them.
"What if they board our ship?" Cream asked.
"We'll be ready!" Tails said determined
On the Chaotix' spaceship Vector and Espio were piloting the craft.
"I wish we knew how to use this ship's communicator. I guess we'll just have to surprise 'em." Vector said while Charmy ate a bag of snacks.
"Want a chip?" he asked.
"Stay out of those boxes!" Espio said.
"Espio's right. We was hired to deliver that stuff, not devour it!" Vector said.
In space the Chaotix's ship docked with the Blue Typhoon.
"I'm gonna go let 'em know we're here." Vector said.
On the Blue Typhoon Vector entered one of the corridors.
"Which way's the bridge?" he asked and saw a sign with an arrow pointing through a door. "Must be that way."
Unknown to him, Chris, Cream, Cheese, Tails, Cosmo, and Amy were setting up an ambush on the other side of the door holding a frying pan, wrench, spatula, baseball bat, broom, and Piko Piko Hammer respectively.
"All right, everybody get ready." Chris said.
Everyone nodded. Chris pressed a button that turned off the light in that room. Vector approached the door and banged on it.
"Hello! Anybody there?" Vector asked and the door opened to reveal a pitch-black room. "I've come to-" he started but Chris dragged him into the room, and was beaten black and blue.
Charmy was drinking from a canteen while Espio waited for Vector to report. The crocodile, covered in bandages and sporting an injured eye, fell into the room.
"I haven't been this beat up since the time we staked out that shark tank!" Vector said.
Espio and Charmy stood up and approached Vector.
"Really?" Espio asked.
"You mean those guys attacked ya?" Charmy asked.
"I think it would be better if I handled this." Espio said and focused on becoming invisible.
On the Blue Typhoon Amy was standing on a small ladder, repainting the wall.
"What a mess. It's lucky that Metarex didn't get past us, or it could have wrecked the whole ship." Amy said.
Just then the door opened and an invisible Espio entered. Amy saw nothing. so painted the figure, causingEspio to glare at her.
"Uh-oh." Espio said.
Amy screamed, causing Chris, Tails, Cosmo, and Cream to come running from downstairs.
"Amy?" Tails said.
"What's going on?" Chris asked.
Having broken into a cold sweat, Amy pointed toward the fleeing Espio.
"L-L-Look!" she said.
"It's an invisible Metarex!" Tails said.
"Let's get it!" Chris said so the they tackled and attacked Espio.
On the Chaotix' ship Espio, still invisible and coated in paint, showed up black and blue in front of Vector and Charmy. Vector was now bandaged.
"I am in pain." Espio said.
"Looks like you're in paint too." Vector said.
"I can't believe I was discovered so easily!" Espio said and stamped his foot. "I'm so humiliated I wish I could just disappear." he said and sat down.
"Maybe they'll listen to me, Vector." Charmy said.
"You sure?" Vector asked.
"I won't let you down!"
"Just be sure to protect yourself, Charmy. It's dangerous in there!"
"I know!" Charmy said and put a helmet on.
On the Blue Typhoon Cream, Cheese, and Cosmo wheeled a cart of sweets and tea onto the bridge.
"Snack time, everybody!" Cream said.
"We've got tea and cake." Cosmo said.
"Wow, perfect timing! I was just starting to get hungry." Chris said.
Cheese served Tails a slice of cake.
"This looks delicious! What kind of cake is it?" he asked.
Chris tried to reach down to the cake Cream had for him.
"I call it Cream Strawberry Cream Cake. I made it myself." Cream said.
"I vote that we make Cream the chef of the ship!" Amy said.
"She can make cake for every meal." Cosmo said and everyone laughed..
"Did somebody say cake?" someone asked.
Charmy stood there wearing makeshift armor made of various appliances, and is carrying a welding mask shield.
"It's a Metarex!" Chris said.
"Let's get it!" Tails said.
"Yeah!" Amy, Chris and Cream said.
"Chaaarge!" Amy said.
He too was beaten up and sent crying back to the Chaotix' ship.
Later, on the Chaotix' spaceship all three of the Chaotix were bandaged.
"It's totally unfair! We came in peace, and got torn to pieces!" Charmy said.
"Yeah! We flew across the galaxy to help these guys. I didn't expect a party, but they didn't have to treat us like piñatas!" Vector said.
"They are most ungrateful, but I will not step quietly through the door of defeat." Espio said.
"I say we head for home, pronto." Charmy said.
"We ain't gonna give up yet, Charmy! The reputation of our agency is at stake, and we are gonna do the job we was hired to do! We're gonna board this ship again, and this time we'll succeed because I'm totally fired up!" Vector said and fiery aura briefly appeared around him. "And, while I'm gettin' warmed up, let's go cool of and think of a strategy." he said. "I mean, there's no rush or anything, right?" he continued and headed back to the ship's controls. "Come on; let's take a coffee break!"
Espio and Vector sweatdrop.
On the Blue Typhoon bridge Chris was finally able to eat his cake in peace. Then he noticed something outside and Tails lowered his mug of tea.
"Huh? Do you see somethin'?" Tails asked.
The Chaotix' ship had undocked and was leaving.
"Looks like the Metarex are takin' off." Chris said.
"They're escaping?" Tails said. "Don't worry; I'll go stop 'em in the X-Tornado!" he said determined.
"You're really gonna go after them all by yourself?" Chris said and panicked
Amy didn't look up from her magazine.
"Relax. You said yourself that ship doesn't have any weapons on it." she said.
"That's right!" Tails said.
"I guess if they're retreating, they can't be very tough." Chris said.
On the Chaotix' spaceship Vector sneezed.
"Huh?" Charmy said.
"You know, my snout's startin' to feel stuffed up. I wonder if I'm gettin' a cold." Vector said and Espioshrugged."Maybe you're just allergic to space."
Then the Chaotix' spaceship flew away.
On the Blue Typhoon Hangar the X-Tornado was prepared to launch. Tails descended the chute and landed in the seat of his plane.
"All systems ready! Now let's go!" Tails said.
As in times past, the X-Tornado was moved up to the runway, the catapult was set up around the front wheel, and a flap extended behind the plane.
"Catapult is set. Take off!"
The catapult slung the X-Tornado into a speedy takeoff. Tails turned around and pursues the Chaotix' spaceship. Only then did he notice the Chaotix's office on top of the ship.
"Hang on a minute. That rickety little house looks familiar. It couldn't be..." Tails flew upside down and looked in the window of the attic of the house and saw Vector. "Hey, it's okay, you guys! We didn't know it was you!" he called out.
On the Chaotix' spaceship.
"Looks like he wants to negotiate. Should we talk?" Vector said.
"It's probably just some sort of ruse." Espio said.
"Espio's right. I bet they're tryin' to trick us." Charmy said.
"Nobody tricks me! Hold on to your seats, boys; we're gonna shake this turkey! Here we go!" Vector said.
In space the Chaotix' ship flew away at max speed.
"They're too fast. I'll never be able to catch 'em in the X-Tornado." Tails said then contacted Chris via video.
"I saw everything. Looks like that spaceship is gonna be harder to stop than you've thought." Chris said over the video."
"Yeah, you'll have to catch 'em in the Blue Typhoon after all." Tails said on the video and rubbed behind his head.
"Will do."
On the bridge.
"Once you catch up to 'em, try gabbing on to the hull of their ship with the mechanical claw." Tails said over the video.
"I've been wanting to use that..." Chris said off the video. "Hold on, everybody! We're gonna pull a quick one-eighty!" Chris said on the video and the Typhoon turned around. "Let's catch those Metarex!"
"Uh, correction, Chris: That isn't a Metarex ship after all."
"Then who are they?"
On the Chaotix' spaceship Charmy was looking at a monitor.
"What is it, Charmy?" Vector asked.
"It looks like they're tryin' to chase us down." Charmy said.
"No way!"
Sure enough, Charmy's radar showed a blip approaching from behind them.
"See?" Charmy said.
"Well, uh.. I'll bust this space bucket tryin' to escape if I have to!" he said and put all power to the engines.
"Vector, no!" Espio said but too much power was put to the engines, and the ship started to fly erratically. "Slow down, Vector!"
Charmy enjoys the turbulence.
"No! Speed it up!" he said.
Just like that, the turbulence stopped.
"We stopped." Espio said.
"I didn't do it." Vector said.
"So then... How'd we stop?" Charmy asked.
In space the Blue Typhoon was drawing the Chaotix' ship into itself using an arm.
On the Blue Typhoon bridge.
"I've completed the capture, Tails. I'm bringin' the ship in." Chris said.
The X-Tornado flew back to the Typhoon.
"It's Vector, Espio, and Charmy. Their radio must be broken or something." Tails said.
The Chaotix were waiting for their "doom".
"You mean it wasn't a Metarex?" Amy said and Chris shook his head, causing her to sweatdrop.
On the Blue Typhoon Hangar everyone was down in the hangar with the Chaotix.
"We're sorry, you guys." Chris said and bowed.
"Sorry." Tails, Cream, Cosmo and Amy said.
"Well, at least it's all settled now." Vector said.
"We forgive you." Charmy said.
"It was just a big misunderstanding. Let bygones be bygones." Espio said.
The others breathed a sigh of relief.
"Why don't you guys help unload the stuff Chris' family sent for him?" Vector asked.
They unload box after box from off the ship. Cosmo handed packages to Amy, who gives them to Tails, then to Chris, then to Espio, then to Vector, who stacked them.
Espio and Vector were carrying numerous packages, especially Vector. Charmy passes them, pushing a cartful of boxes. As Chris picked up the last of the boxes, he looked at the spaceship.
"They sure went to a lot of trouble." he said.
Later, Vector was in Chris' room setting down the last box.
"I think that's everything." Vector said.
"Thanks, Vector. I'll do the unpacking and everything else myself." Chris said.
"Great." Vector said and left.
Chris looked at the boxes.
"Grandpa must have found a way to teleport these things from home. I'm sure Mom and Dad are worried about me. They don't even know if I made it here okay. I wish I could find a way to tell 'em I'm all right." he said to himself.
There was a shot of a photo of a younger him with his parents. It slowly faded out.
On the Blue Typhoon Vector, Espio, and Charmy were walking together.
"Hey!" someone said and they turned around to see Amy and Cream running toward them.
"Wait up, you guys! Don't leave yet! Come have some tea!" Amy said.
"We've got cake, too!" Cream said.
"All right! Cake!" Charmy said.
"What Charmy means to say is we must be leaving." Espio said.
"Hang on, Espio. These folks are offerin' us their hospitality. We don't wanna be rude, do we?" Vector said and Espio sweatdroped.
Later Vector, Espio, Charmy, Cream, and Cosmo were having cake and tea in the mess hall.
"Vector, would you like thirds?" Cream asked.
Vector licked his lips.
"You bet!" he said and Cosmo poured more tea. "By the way, Cream..." he said to Cream while she served him more cake.
"Yes, Vector?" she said.
"Creamy, I hope you'll forgive me if I sound just like a nosy old croc, but are you sure you should be playing around in space?
"I'm not playing around! I'm helping save the universe!"
"I don't think Cream realizes what's at stake here, Vector. We're on a mission to stop the Metarex. It's serious business." Cosmo said.
"Maybe it is, but I think Cream's mother wants Cream to come home!" Vector said.
"My mother doesn't want that. She trusts me 'cause she knows I'm here to help my friends! [smug] Come on, Cosmo!" Cream said angry and left with Cosmo following her.
"Why did you say that, Vector? Cream's mother didn't tell us to bring the girl home. She told us to check on her." Espio said.
"Yeah, that's what she told us, but she was tryin' to be strong. She was really thinkin', "I'm so worried about my little baby! You gotta save her, Vector! She's too young to be out there all alone!" " Vector said.
"Hold on! Cream's mother never said that."
"She thought it, and I'm a detective. So I detected it!"
"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another episode of Delusional Thinking with Vector!" Charmy said and danced.
"We're takin' Cream with us!"
"But Vector-" Espio started but was cut off."
"No buts about it! I made a solemn promise to Cream's mom, and I ain't goin' back on my word!"
"You never made any promise." Espio said and stood on the table.
"I made a promise. You just didn't hear it!" Vector said and Espio face palmed. "'Cause I made it from the bottom of my heart!"
Espio covered his head in annoyance.
"This is hopeless. I can't argue with someone who refuses to make sense." he said to himself.
Then Vector pulled out a bag.
"I'm tossin' Cream into this bag and then we're gone!" he said.
"Just look at 'im go, ladies and gentlemen! He's out of control! There's no stoppin' him!" Charmy said still dancing.
On the Blue Typhoon bridge Chris typed a few buttons on his keypad.
"It doesn't look like we're gonna find any Chaos Emeralds around here." he said while Tails pulled up a gravitational field reading.
"I agree. Since there aren't many planets around here, the Emeralds wouldn't be drawn this way." Tails said. "And I'm sure Sonic would tell us when he felt one."
No one saw the Chaotix sneaking onto the bridge.
"Why's that, Tails?" Amy asked.
"Chaos Emeralds are attracted by the gravitational fields around the planets. And like I said, being the Guardian of the seven Chaos Emeralds Sonic would feel them remember?" Tails said.
Vector snuck up behind Cream, who noticed and smiled.
"I see." Vector said.
"We'd better search someplace else." Cream said.
Vector plopped the bag over her and Cheese then waved to the others.
"Time for us to skedaddle, folks. Heheh!" he said.
"You sure you don't want to travel with us a little?" Chris asked.
"We can use all the help we can get battling the Metarex." Amy said.
"We will fight with you in spirit." Espio said.
"That won't do us much good." Amy said.
"Keep up the good work! The galaxy appreciates your heroic efforts." Vector said.
"Catch you later!" Charmy said and they left in their spaceship with Cream and Cheese." Charmy said.
"Well, that was fun." Chris said.
"Hey, where did Cream and Cheese go?" Amy asked.
"Cosmo was here too, wasn't she?" Tails asked.
"They were here until Vector and his gang showed up to say goodbye." Chris said.
On the Chaotix' spaceship Vector plucked Cream from the bag.
"What do you think you're doing?" Cream asked with Cheese floating out of the bag.

"Chao chao!" Cheese said.
"You're going back to your mama." Vector said and Cosmo rises out of the bag.
"And I am too?" she said.
"How'd you get in there?" Vector asked surprised.
"You didn't think I was going to let you take Cream, did you? Well, I'm not going to!"
"This don't have nothing to do with you, missy!" Vector said and tried to grab Cosmo, but she jumped behind him. "No stowaways allowed on this ship!"
Another pounce, another miss.
"You are taking me back, and taking Cream too." Cosmo said.
Vector tried repeatedly to grab her, but the she was too fast for her while Cream and Cheese cheered them on.
"All right! Give it to him, Cosmo!" Cream said and fist pumped.
"Chao chao!" Cheese said.
"I'm here, Vector!" Cosmo said waving her arms.
"I wanna play too!" Charmy said and Vector missed again. "Maybe not."
"Well, don't just-" Vector started then Charmy saw something on the radar. "What is it?"
"We got company!" Charmy said.
The Typhoon's claws attempted to grab the Chaotix' ship.
"I'll handle it this time." Espio said and leapt outside the sip and threw two shurikens at each of the two claws. "One... two... three..." Espio said to himself and the shurikens explode, damaging but not destroying the claws. "That kind of worked."
On the Blue Typhoon bridge.
"They just broke the ship's claw." Chris said.
"Well, there gotta be some way we can catch them! We can't let 'em get away with Cosmo, Cream, and Cheese!" Amy said.
"Let me try to get the backup claw working." Tails said.
At space Knuckles finally reached Sonic and offered him a spare jetpack.
"I thought I was gonna run out of rope." Knuckles said smiling.
"Thanks a bunch, Knuckles." Sonic said and put the jetpack on. "Gotta fly! I'll see ya back at the ship." he said and flew away.
"Uh... Sonic!"
On the Blue Typhoon bridge.
"So can you get it to work?" Amy asked.
"I think, but it'll take a little ingenuity on Chris' part." Tails said.
"No problem!" Chris said then saw Sonic flew outside the window and gave his own thumbs-up, tapping the glass. "Sonic!"
"We were worried about you." Tails said.
"Think you can catch a ship while you're out there?" Amy asked catching Sonic's attention. "Vector took Cosmo, Cream, and Cheese!"
After hearing that he saw when Sonia and Manic were captured years ago.
Sonic had a determined expression.
On the Chaotix' ship.
"Come on! Gimme more speed!" Vector said.
Vector and Charmy were outside, repairing the detective's office that had accidentally been damaged byEspio's shurikens. Then Sonic found their ship.
To the surprise of Espio and Charmy, Sonic broke through the window of the house.
"You made it!" Cream and Cosmo said.
Then Vector saw Sonic.
"I don't know what this is about, but Cream and the others are comin' with me!" Sonic said.
"I don't want to fight you, Sonic, but I said I was gonna bring little Cream back home to her mama, and no one's gonna stop me!" Vector said while Espio and Charmy entered the room from above.
"Let her go, or you'll be sorry!" Sonic said.
"Oh yeah? It's lucky for us you're blue, 'cause nobody's gonna notice your bruises when I'm done whoopingya! Now put up your dukes!"
Then he aimed a punch at Sonic, but he dodged.
"Is this what you meant to do?" Sonic asked and stomped Vector across the room. "There's plenty more where that came from!"
Espio and Charmy surround Sonic.
"Will you please stop fighting? Don't you understand? Only one of us can decide what Cream should do." Cosmo said.
"Cosmo's right." someone said.
Silence filled the room... until Chris entered wearing a spacesuit.
"Cream's mom may worry about her and want her to come home, and we may want her to keep traveling with us. But we don't get to choose what Cream does. Only Cream can decide that."
Sonic stood there and put his hand on his medallion seeing the day he had to leave.
'At least she has the choice while I don't.' he thought.
"Sorry, kid, but you know how parents are." Vector said.
"Believe me, Vector, I do. But still..."
"So what's it gonna be, Cream?" Sonic asked.
"I want to stay here and help because it's important to me. I'm sure my mom's worried, but I also think she trusts me to do the right thing." Cream said.
Sonic thought about what his mom would feel. Worried, proud and trust him to defeat Robotnik someday.
"...Espio, Charmy, we're outta here. ... Our mission has been accomplished, guys." Vector said ashamed.
"Huh? Aren't we supposed to take Cream?" Charmy asked.
"We were sent to make sure Cream was okay, and that's what we've done."
Sonic, Cream, and Chris smiled. Chris ascended the ladder, followed by Sonic, Cream and Cosmo.
"Hey, Cream!" Vector said.
"Yeah?" Cream said.
"Be sure to drop your mother a line from time to time."
"I will!" she said beaming.
Charmy took a picture and beamed as well.
At Cream's house Vanilla noticed that her FAX machine was activating.
"What could that be?" Vanilla wondered then smiled when she saw it was the photo Charmy took. "I miss you, Cream, but I know you're doing something important."
'Sonic will take good care of her.' she thought.
She trusts him the most out of everyone to look after Cream after how long he's been fight Eggman and being the one to get them back together.
On the Crimson Egg Cockpit.
"No Chaos Emeralds in this area." Decoe said.
