Desperately Seeking Sonic

(Ayla's POV)

*It's been a week since we left Planet Breezy. I was in my room, doing a maintenance check on my board, when suddenly the alarm went off. As I ran to the bridge, I bumped into Shadow, who was coming out of the training room*

Tails: Our scanners picked up two objects approaching, dead ahead and closing fast.

*I looked ahead & saw a green planet in front of us*

Amy: I see em'!

*I looked & saw two robots flying straight towards the Blue Typhoon. One of them looked like a brown monkey*

Sonic: They're Metarex!

*I saw the brown monkey holding a green crystal*

Cosmo: It looks like they just stole that Planet Egg.

Tails: We can't let those two Metarex get away. We're gonna fight 'em to save that Planet Egg!

All: Rodger!

*Suddenly, the ship started shaking. I looked ahead & saw the big grey one had attached wires to the Blue Typhoon*

Tails: Fire the laser cannons!

*The cannons fired, but they didn't leave a scratch*

Cream: They bounced right off!

*I looked out the window & the wires around the ship's wings tightening, causing it to crack*

Amy: It's trying to pull our wings off. We have to do something before it's too late!

Tails: We'll stop it. Load the Sonic Power Cannon!

Knuckles:*off-screen* We're loading it now!

Chris:*off-screen* Sonic, enter the power cannon and get ready for launch

*I looked ahead & saw the Power Cannon coming out of the ship. Sonic was standing right in front of it. He ran inside*

Sonic:*off-screen* Ready!

*I could feel the energy from the Master Emerald going towards the cannon*

Tails: Sonic Power Cannon, fire!

*The cannon fired & Sonic went through the gray Metarex like it was paper. All the lights in the bridge went out. The Metarex then exploded, causing the brown monkey to drop the Planet Egg & the both fell towards the planet below*

Tails: Looks like we knocked out the Metarex, the big one is outta commission, and the Planet Egg's going back where it belongs.

Cosmo: Thanks to, Sonic!

Amy: He's a real knockout!

Ayla: Uh guys . . . *they all looked at me* I hate to be a party pooper, but . . . Why hasn't Sonic cone back to the ship?

*We all turned to Tails, who looked nervous*

Knuckles:*off-screen* What's wrong?

Chris:*off-screen* The cannon that launched Sonic out of the ship worked great. Unfortunately, we launched him too hard and he couldn't get out of their spinning in time to get back to the ship. Looks like he's headed straight for the planet.

Shadow: It's too bad he's not wearing a parachute.

Ayla & Amy: SONIC!

*Tails & Knuckles got in the X Tornado, Shadow stood on one of the wings, & I got on my board. We were going to go down to the planet to find my brother. Amy then ran up to us*

Amy: Move over! I'm going with you!

Tails: Stay here, Amy. It's not safe. That smaller Metarex may be out there somewhere.

Amy: But I have to find Sonic!

Tails: Don't worry, Amy, Knuckles, Ayla, Shadow and I will find him and bring them back. Chris needs help fixing the ship. Who knows, maybe Sonic will show up here.

Knuckles: Tails is trying to tell you that we don't want you getting in our way!

Ayla: Knuckles!

Amy: In your way!?

Shadow: Let's just get going.

Tails: Okay . . .

Amy: Do not take off! *we all took off into the sky* You'll regret this!

Ayla: Don't worry, Amy! I promise we'll bring back Sonic, safe and sound!

*Just as we were flying over the jungle, we got a call from Chris*

Chris:*off-screen* This is the Blue Typhoon calling the X Tornado. Come in.

Tails: X Tornado here. What's up, Chris?

Chris:*off-screen* Amy's gone? So are Cream and Cheese. Cosmo too.

*I face-palmed. I should've known*

Knuckles: Where'd they go, sightseeing?

Shadow: Does that girl ever listen?

Ayla: Not when it comes to my brother, no.

Chris:*off-screen* Better keep your eyes on them while you're looking for Sonic.

*Suddenly, the blue Chaos Emerald began to glow. My heart also started to beat really fast & I could feel a headache coming on*

Tails: The Chaos Emerald's reacting to something.

Ayla: I'm also getting that feeling again!

Knuckles: Yeah! That means there must be another Chaos Emerald nearby! Let's find it!

Tails: Hang on, I'm gonna make a turn. Call you later, Chris! Right now, we're going emerald hunting!

Knuckles: See ya later!

Ayla: We'll call you back when we find it.

*Tails hung up & we took off*

*As we flew deeper & deeper into the jungle, the Chaos Emerald was glowing brighter, my heart was pounding faster, & my headache was getting worse. That meant we were getting close. Suddenly, we spotted Sonic running through some tall grass*

Ayla: There he is! I see him!

Tails: Sonic!

Sonic: Hi Tails! Look, got a little present for ya!

*He held up the green Chaos Emerald*

Knuckles: He's got another Emerald

Tails: Stay there, we're coming down to pick ya up.

*Tails then transformed the X Tornado. But before we could land, some metal tentacles came out of the tree. They grabbed the Emerald, tangled up the X Tornado, & knocked me off my board. I turned around & saw that the tentacles belonged to none other than one of Dr. Eggs-for-Brains' robots*

Sonic: Eggman.

Dr. Eggman: I'm taking that Emerald back, Sonic. I found it first, so it belongs to me.

Ayla: I've told you before! The Chaos Emeralds don't belong to anyone!

Dr. Eggman: Zip it!

Sonic: But if it wasn't for the Metarex, I'd still have 'em all.

Dr. Eggman: According to my rules, it's stealers keepers, Sonic!

*The tentacle that held the Emerald put it inside the robot*

Decoe: RETRIEVAL OPERATION COMPLETE. THE EMERALD IS SECURE.

Bocoe: TIME TO POWER-UP.

*The robot started glowing & then changed it's look. Suddenly, I heard an unfamiliar voice. I got back on my board, hovered over the robot & saw Amy, Cream, Cheese, & Cosmo running away from the Monkey Metarex. Cosmo was holding the Planet Egg*

Metarex Kingape: I'M NOT MONKEYING AROUND THIS TIME.

*Amy jumped up bounced off Eggman's head. Cream then bounced off Bocoe's head & Cosmo bounced off Decoe's

Decoe & Bocoe: WHAT THE?

*The Metarex then landed on both of their head, flattening them like pancakes. The girls ran past us, but then Amy stopped when she saw my brother*

Amy: Sonic!

*She ran right towards him*

Metarex Kingape: OH NO! NOW THEY'RE ALL GONNA GANG UP AGAINST ME!

*Amy wrapped her arms around Sonic*

Amy: Sonic! I've been looking all over for you!

*She then started kissing his cheek*

Sonic: This isn't a kissing booth!

Shadow: Is she always this bad?

Ayla: Sometimes she's worse.

*Cosmo held up the Planet Egg*

Cosmo: Look everybody! We found the Planet Egg, isn't that fantastic?

Knuckles: Take it easy.

*Eggman was really mad now*

Dr. Eggman: I'm not a trampoline! Nobody goes hopping on my head and gets away with it!

Decoe & Bocoe: ACTIVATING ATTACK MODE!

*A whole bunch of tentacles came towards us. Before I could do anything, we were all caught by them. Even the Monkey Metarex*

Metarex Kingape: LET ME GO! I'M BATTLING HEDGEHOG'S FRIENDS TOO!

Dr. Eggman: No way, I won't work with anyone who looks like he belongs in a zoo! *suddenly, the Planet Egg began to glow & the the planet around us began growing really fast* What's going on!?

Tails: The energy from the planet egg is making the vegetation grow faster!

*The vines started to wrap themselves around us*

Knuckles: It's growing like crazy!

Amy: These vines sure are clingy, are they!?

Sonic: Let me go!

*Tails pressed a button on his wristwatch, calling Chris*

Chris:*off-screen* This is the Blue Typhoon. Over *we tried to tell him what was going on, but we were all talking at once* Hold on, calm down and try to talk one at a time!

Dr. Eggman: Bocoe, start pruning these plants NOW!

Bocoe: THEY ARE GROWING TOO FAST DOCTOR!

Amy: Cosmo, what's wrong!?

Cosmo: I can't control the Planet Egg! I'm sorry!

*The vines were even growing towards the sky. Just then, another plane flew towards us*

Chris:*off-screen* Hang on, guys!

Sonic: Huh? It's Chris?

*Tails was looking for something in the X Tornado*

Tails: Almost . . . *he pulled out the blue Chaos Emerald* Got it! *he then threw it towards my brother* Catch, Sonic!

Sonic: Nice work, Tails!

*He activated the Emerald's power & freed himself using a spin dash*

Chris:*off-screen* Sonic, heads up!

*A missile was fired towards my brother. They landed on his feet & then Sonic was wearing a new pair of shoes. He used then to slide along the vines towards Eggman & his two stooges. They were looking more & more nervous the closer he got to them. He then hit that at full speed & they went flying into the air until they were out of sight. Sonic then caught the green Chaos Emerald*

Ayla: Ahem! A little help over here if you don't mind!

Sonic: Sorry to leave ya hanging.

*Just then, the Chaos Emerald floated out of Cosmo's hands & sunk into the ground. A wave of green light spread out over the jungle. The vines let us go & we landed on the ground safely*

Amy:*brushing herself off* No wonder I don't like gardening.

Metarex Kingape: WHAT A BOTANICAL NIGHTMARE.

*We all then turned towards the Monkey Metarex with glares*

Amy: Get lost, pal!

Metarex Kingape: I COULDN'T STOP MYSELF FROM TRICKING YOU. I WAS PROGRAMED FOR MONKEY BUSINESS. I'M REALLY SORRY. I LEARNED MY LESSON. *he then looked at my brother, who was holding the Chaos Emerald* WOW. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL EMERALD!

*He jumped towards Sonic, but he dodged*

Sonic: I'm not that slow, buddy!

*We all looked at him with evil grins*

Shadow: Shall we, Ayla?

*I got out my Ring Blades*

Ayla: With pleasure.

Metarex Kingape: THIS MISSION IS DRIVING ME BANANAS!

*With one slice from my Ring Blades & a well aimed Chaos Spear, that Metarex was history*

*Soon, we were all back on the Blue Typhoon, admiring the two Chaos Emeralds we have so far*

Tails: Only five more to go.

Cosmo: I'm sure we'll get them all back!

*We all looked at her surprised*

Chris: You think so, Cosmo?

Cosmo: You bet! Today I learned that if we all work together, anything is possible!

Cheese: Chao-Chao!

Ayla: I couldn't have said it better myself.
