She hadn't meant to make him angry. That was all Kagome could think as she stood across from him in the sparring ring and they stared at each other. She remembered her hidden weapons lesson yesterday, the grueling three hours long test lesson when Kagome had been forced to join a class of more advanced students because her own teacher had been no-where to be found, the Alpha's were busy, and no one was quite sure what to do with her. The other girls had all been bigger than her and adept at using tessen and hair pins and jewelry and Kagome could barely manage a dagger. It had been humiliating to be made fun of by the older girls, especially considering she'd been nervous to make a good impression and make friends.

So after, she'd escaped to Sesshoumaru's room hoping for some solace and company, but upon finding it empty had become distracted with the armor his father had given him. The thrill of doing something she knew she shouldn't overrode good sense and she'd starting playing with it in the childish thought that he wouldn't mind—they shared almost everything, after all.

Now, facing him across the ring in the aftermath of yesterday, Kagome was unsure if sparring was a good idea—especially unsupervised. His insult and condescension riled and hurt, pulling at her own temper. "Well, I got a lot done this morning in our magic's lesson without having to show you how to do every little thing."

Which wasn't true of course, since she'd been worrying about him the whole morning. But it was enough to see his jaw tick, to watch his barely larger hands curl into fists again.

Childish temper overruled worry and guilt about yesterday and she was perfectly content to meet him head on with anger. "If you're so annoyed with having to train me, then why don't you go sulk in your room with your broken armor!"
