I know that it has been a while since I posted a chapter, but with everything going on in the world and school, I haven't had much time to post. (That, and I've been doing other things as well.) Hopefully, I'll get some more chapters up soon, and maybe even start posting the revised version of this story.
Amanda's POV. This chapter was written by Friends819.
That night after we went to bed again, we both were haunted by the picture of Emmy and Master Xandred.
The next morning, we had to head to potions class.
As we were walking down the hall, I was talking to Hermione about the proper way to use a spell while Cameron was talking to Ron and Harry about how classes were going to be.
I didn't notice a Slytherin student come up behind me until he had already placed a live chocolate frog in the hood of my robes.
It jumped out and onto my head.
While I was startled, I wasn't scared and just swat it off of my head, the frog jumping away.
"And there goes another one," Ron told Harry and Cameron.
"Hey Malfoy, leave her alone," Harry said.
"Like I'll listen to you, Potter," Draco said. "I can do whatever I want."
I bit back saying, "I'm a Samurai Ranger so I should get more respect," and instead said, "Not with me."
Draco was about to reply when there was a sudden scream and the kids in the dungeons ran up the stairs.
We all ran down to see what it was and right away, everyone but me and Cameron ran back up.
There was a nighlok, and it had hold of Professor Snape, our potions master.
We ducked out of view, morphed, and then ran in to help him.
"Hey! Leave him alone!" I called as the nighlok threw Snape on the ground.
"You rangers are here? I was never told that!" the nighlok said.
"We're here, and going to take you down," Cameron said. "Ready Red?"
"Ready Indigo!" I replied, knowing that just saying our colors will be safer than our names.
Before we could attack, Snape had gotten up and cast a spell on the nighlok, but it went back to him as the nighlok formed a barrier against spells.
"So, no magic," I said. "That's easy!"
We both attacked the nighlok, but it was able to knock us back.
"Spin sword! Blazing Strike!" I said, taking out my sword.
"Spin sword! Freezing Slash!" Cameron said, also taking out his sword.
The nighlok was knocked off his feet.
Snape came in front of us. "I'll finish this one off," he said, raising his wand for a spell.
"Maybe you should let us," I said, but he had already released the spell.
The spell absorbed into the nighlok's skin, making it stronger.
"Oh no, that made it worst!" Cameron commented.
Snape jumped to the side as the nighlok charged us.
It knocked both me and Cameron off our feet and sent us flying into a wall.
"Now how's that for power?" the nighlok said.
We slowly got to our feet, knowing that we need to try something else.
"Spin sword, Fire Smasher," I said, my sword turning into the Fire Smasher.
"Spin sword, Ice Bow," Cameron added, his sword turning the Ice Bow.
We both put our disks in and attacked the nighlok, but it sent us flying again and we unwilling un-morphed.
Snape was surprised with who we were, but before he could get answers, he knew he had to get rid of the nighlok.
"You rangers are lucky that I'm drying out!" the nighlok said, disappearing into a gap.
Cameron and I were slowly getting to our knees when Snape came towering over us.
We both bowed our heads, knowing what was going to happen.
"What was that?" Snape asked me. "What's going on Ms. Carter?"
I knew that we couldn't hide the truth from Snape, because he'd see through it. But I couldn't give away that this was all in a book.
"In America," I began. "We, along with some other friends, we chosen to protect people from monsters called nighlok, just like the one we were just up against. We are called the Power Ranger Samurai, but my brother and I moved away, still keeping our morphers for the case that a nighlok should attack."
"You expect me to believe that?" Snape said.
"No," I whispered, my voice getting softer and softer.
"You're wrong then," Snape said.
"What's our punishment, Professor?" Cameron asked, staring at a crack in the floor. "Are we going to get expelled?"
"No, Mr. Carter," Snape said. "Because of the events here, and I normally don't do this, but ten points, each, to Gryffindor. As long as you're around, I know those nighlok creatures won't threaten the school. But don't be late to class or else you'll be in detention." He turned and walked to his class. "Go get the other students, since they all ran away."
Cameron and I got to our feet and went up the stairs, where everyone in our potions class was waiting.
"Everything's clear," I said. "The thing is gone."
"And how do we know?" Draco said. "You saw how that thing had Professor Snape!"
"Professor Snape told us to get you guys," Cameron said.
"If that case," Harry said. "Let's go."
We all went to potions class, no one noticing how Cameron and I were limping slightly.
