"Awwww, he's so cute, what's his name, how did he even get here?" Mantis asked both Rocket and Groot cuddling a little male raccoon that had Groot's eyes with light brown-red fur whom Rocket had rescued from theCollector's warehouse, bringing the little guy to the Avengers compound, seeing him imprinting with her, besides Rocket andGroot.
"The Collector made him, but he'snot daddy material, but he likes you like us." Rocket replied.
"I am Groot!" the male toddler kit said, making Mantis along with Rocket.
"He thinks we're his parents, which is alright with me." Mantis said.
While in Mantis's arms, the toddler kit was becoming calm, as she was using her empath powers like when shehad calmedGroot after he'd been exposed to gamma-infused soil seeing Rocket returning with a bottle of warm milk, to feed the kit making Groot smile at his best friend and brother, seeing him handing it to Mantis.
"Here you go, little one, you seem really hungry, at least you can be happy here." she saidsoftly as he was drinkijg
"We should give him an name, you know?" Rocket replied to her making her agreeing with him.
She was burping the kit after he was done drinking, makimg them chuckle, as that was ery cute, making Thor curious as they explained to him, makinghim smile, stunned the Collector would do something like that, hearing Rocket say that Tivon had no heart, hearing Mantis call themale kit, Forest which he liked guessing that washis name.
"We should tell Drax about Forest, along with getting him a crib." Rocket said seeing Groot agreeing, making a crib impressingthem seeing Forest clapping his little paws making Mantis giggle at this, getting a blanket, putting him in it gently, before telling him a story while Groot andRocket were doing things, seeing Forest calming down, making Drax surprised hearing Mantis telling him, finding it sweet. which Mantis appreciated, knowing that Forest would feel safe and loved, which they agreed on.
That next morning, Rocket heard commotion in thekitchen, seeing Forest getting his paws into tings, which surprised theothers including Hulk, seeing Forest trying to open thefridge-door, seeing Groot using his vines to scoop the youngster up, while Rocketexplained aboutForest along with that babyraccoons were verycurious and got theirpawx into anything, unless you distracted them, which theothers understood.
