Chapter 66: Venom or Venomous
XANDAR
Connie had become talented with a sword, and her youth was helping, but Immortus had centuries more experience and was making up for her zest.
Connie had to fall back.
Immortus wasn't one to let go of his prey; a wide smile spread across his wrinkled visage. "Run as far as you can; you won't get away from me."
"Not trying to,"
Connie turned back towards him and ran full force. Immortus prepared to attack, slice her as she charged, but instead of attacking, she slid between his legs and passed him. As he turned, he saw Connie jamming her sword into a block of ice. After a few jabs, the ice cracked, releasing Amethyst.
The purple gem blinked, confused about what happened.
Immortus charged, trying to stop her, but Amethyst wasn't having any of that. She summoned up her whip and used it to take his sword away and promptly eat it.
Immortus was stunned by that, he'd been alive for longer than most people could imagine and was traveling universes, but somehow that shocked him.
Amethyst glowed as she shape-shifted into a larger, stronger form of herself, "Okay, how about we try this again."
Connie smiled, seeing the ancient general flinch; Steven had taught her that she shouldn't be afraid to get some help if she was ever overhead. That brief memory let her feel that he was alive in some sense.
Both of them charged at him.
"Bizzaro will let go of the red thing." The failed clone charged at Stitch.
Stitch was by far no stranger to aliens, but this one seemed strange. Everything he said was backward, and yet he had super strength to match. Usually, Sitch would be happy to fight him one-on-one, but attempting to do that was a bad idea; he fought experiments with his strength, property damage was a big thing. There were too many people there, and the building all look ready to topple over. Stitch had to try to get him away or find some way to subdue him.

Luthor leaned back, happy that the Emerald Empress had come in from the future world. That eye of hers was beneficial. She would overlook her alien heritage; she seemed human, except for the green hair she didn't seem to be anything but human.
She had used the Emerald Eye of Ekron to pacify all their enemies thanks to his genius us off a hologram system already present. Now, all they had to do is protect the machine long enough to let it do its work.
Or so the thought.
Nanite Queen was not so easily controlled, she had been zapped, and her form disrupted, which helped her hide. The eye had one little condition, its power had to be focused through a person's eye to work. Elena didn't really have eyes; she was a mass of nanites that sensed her area. She had no idea; maybe it could have worked if she was in a human form with eyes. Elena, amongst the nanite, sensed what was happening and started to plan. At the moment, she was just countless metal flecks on the ground ignored by people, and all her allies had been compromised. She had to fall back on her training as a plumber to find a solution. She quickly figured the eyes were behind the brainwashing, so she had to get it. She needed to find her opening to act unseen.
She wasn't the only one.
"No,"
Bane looked at Bruce, his large green body unmoving, but he paused when he heard him speak that work. Something none of them realized was that the Hulk was of two minds, unified but two minds.
Bruce took the lead, but when his mind was shut down, the Hulk's mind screamed in their head to wake him up.
"No!" Bruce screamed, slapping Bane away.
"What?!" Bane yelled, "It didn't work on him!"
Mirror Master kept his cool and held out a small mirror and his mirror gun, "I'll trap him in the mirror dimension until we finish."
Bruce was one of the smartest people on Earth; he quickly noted that his allies were all glazed over with a green glow in the eyes; he'd seen the power of the mind stone. "I've wanted to try this!"
He slapped his hands together as hard as he could; it wasn't as strong as the Hulk's clap but enough to blast everyone else back.
Bruce rushed over to the Mirror Master. "Mirror Dimension? Sounds interesting; let's take a look!"
He forced the mirror master to blast the mirror ait glowed he moved closer to it, space seemingly distorting. Bruce carrying Mirror Master into it, and they both vanished.
Bruce found himself in an oddly distorted version of the world, except all reflective surfaces were glowing like small stars.
"Okay, this is weird. Tell me how this works,"
Mirror Master wasn't used to being carried by one hand. "You'll never get me to talk."
Bruce huffed, he didn't have time for this, and he wasn't in the mood. Bruce put him on the ground and grabbed his free hand.
"Buddy, I don't have time; consider that the only time I will ask nicely."
"What are you going to do?"
He found himself screaming as Bruce crushed his free hand.
"I'm getting angry, and you don't want to see me angry."
"That will work," Elena moved the swarm away, moving through the field, through the stands, and making her way to the skybox.
She was forming a plan.
Luthor was berating the Empress in the skybox, "You told me it would control them."
"It should have!" She argued back.
"Should?"
"I've been told he had an impressive anger problem." a swarm of nanite swarmed through the room, taking the form of the Nanite Queen.
She formed a spike at the end of her hand and stabbed at Luthor's suit, sparks shooting out; she was sure she had cut off the power to the suit.
Emerald Empress fire an energy blast from the eye, a chunk of the Queen's body was blasted off, but she walked forward. A few more shots tore into her, but she slowly started to repair herself. Nanite Queen stretched out her hand and engulfed the eye, "Tell me how to use this,"
Elana wasn't sure if it was just alien tech, she could eventually make it work, but she didn't have time. And if this turned out to be magic, then trying to mess with it might destroy her. She didn't have time to go get Gwen.
"I think she needs to do that," Lex grinned; he was a genius; after all, rerouting power was child's play and using that system to tap into the laser in his gauntlet to fire a directed EMP.
Lex shot at the Queen, and her nanites collapsed to the ground lifeless.
The Empress sighed in relief, collecting the floating eye.
Lex got up; it drained his batteries, but they'd recharge after a few minutes, but the immediate threat was taken care of.

CANDY CASTLE LAB
Marceline sighed in the corner of the lab; they still had no clue of what was happening. Simon was using the lab in hopes of discovering something. The most they could figure out something big happened. Finn used the note that Primos left Jake to go to the Time Room. The problem was that Prismo was gone; all they found out from the Cosmic Owl that things were screwed up and down the multiverse.
Finn wasn't taking it too well, pretty much locked himself in his place. Last, Marceline had heard Huntress Wizard kept an eye on him, but honestly, she hadn't seen either one in days.
Finn's mom was busy keeping the humans from going nuts; Beemo had gone with her to keep the human kid's company. Many of those kids lost both their parents, and Beemo was great for keeping kid's spirits high.
Things weren't great here either.
"Any luck Simon?" Marceline asked.
Simon was covered in papers and looked like a wreck. He had barely slept in days.
"I don't know, Marcy," He rubbed his eyes, "I thought we had something when we confirmed when other dimensions like the Crystal Dimension and Nightosphere were hit too. But, looking into it, there is nothing that could have that kind of range. The sheer amount of power to spread something like this is unthinkable. And everything is so random, I thought it might be the Lich for the widespread death, but- missing people. Radiation or anything of the sort wouldn't just randomly skip people. The Lich certainly wouldn't spare anyone. Maybe then it was GOLB, but that made less sense, sure. It's random and chaotic, but nothing else has happened. GOLB would never stop with the Chaos, and we'd all have seen signs."
Marceline sighed; Simon might have been hoping that Betty had returned.
The vampire patted him on the back, "It's okay, Simon. Let's get you some food and get you to sleep."
Marceline had some hope; after centuries, they managed to get Simon back; maybe they could pull something else off.
Simon sighed, "Maybe you're right. I thought Maybe the Enchiridion might have some clues."
"I think Finn has it; I think he got it after I got turned into a marshmallow."
"Maybe it could help, not sure, the gems that powered it have vanished. The one that Turtle Princess had on her ring vanished with her, and the Ice Thing ran off somewhere with the other two from the crown."
Marceline tried not to think of Bubblegum vanishing; she was wearing one of the gems too.
"It's okay Simon, let's get you some rest, and I'll get the book later. Maybe we can still find something to help."

U.A. HIGH SCHOOL
Ochako and Momo were teamed up together as they did their patrol. None of them were too worried; police were helping keep back people, there were heroes in the area to help.
Ochako used the chance to talk to Momo, having noticed that it seemed to affect her.
"Are you alright?"
Momo flinched at the words. She had been focused on her own thought so much so that it barely registered to her.
"Oh! I'm sorry, no, I'm fine," Momo tried to wave off her concerns.
"Are you sure? You seem different… I know this whole thing has been affecting all of us, but you can count on me. I'm not sure what I can do, but I can at least listen if you want to talk. "
Momo shook her head, "No, need."
"I mean, I get that you've been spending a lot of time with Todoroki."
"Todoroki? What do you mean?"
Ochako blinked, "Uh, I mean, it's great that you and he can talk with each other but know that we are all here-"
"Talk! Yes! Todoroki and I have been talking to one another to cope with everything…" Momo wasn't fond of deceiving her friend, especially one that was showing concern for her. Momo just couldn't tell her the truth of the nature of her new relationship with Shoto.
Truth be told, she wasn't too sure herself. Momo and Shoto had started as friends talking to one another and turned to more physical methods to cope with the grief.
It wasn't the most romantic of sentiment; they both found comfort and joy in these turbulent times.
Momo couldn't deny that something was exhilarating about their secret intimacy. If Shoto was making sure no one found out about it, she couldn't tell anyone in return. This was a highly private matter.
She smiled, "Thank you, I might take you up on that. But, I am fine,"
Ochako looked on, "Okay, sure. Huh, I never knew Todoroki was such a good person to talk to."
"Shoto is wonderful with his mou- words!"
Momo rubbed the back of her neck unconsciously. One thing about her hero uniform tended to reveal a lot of skin, her power allowed her to create anything, and it would come out of her skin, so the more skin exposed, the more she could make. The problem was that it made it all the harder to hide the tale-tell signs of love bites, especially those in odd locations like the one on her neck and thighs, amongst other places. She used some makeup to hide them, but she worried it wouldn't be enough. She certainly enjoyed getting them, thought hiding them was much more annoying. She took some joy in knowing Todoroki had a few of his own marks to hide.
Though his outfit hid more so, no one really noticed anything.

With the majority of heroes talking to the politicians, and the school is supposed to be secure. The problem was that many security measures were lowered to allow all the politicians and guests in.
A young woman walked into the room that held the portal device. The badge she wore noted her as one of the photographers to take some images. The truth was the photographer was unconscious on the floor of her apartment.
The woman took a small device as activated it; a little light beeped into life, and a second later, a swirling black portal formed behind her.
"Good work, Toga," Shigaraki walked out of the portal those lefts of the League of Villains followed close behind.
The woman's body seemed to melt off, revealing Toga's true form and her sharp tooth grin.
Kurogiri was the final person to appear in the room, holding out Toga's change of clothes like she had requested.
"Huh?" Hatsume had woken up; after everything was done, she fell asleep on her workbench.
"You must be the girl who made this works," Shigaraki walked towards her.
Shigaraki had to admit it was rather impressive this girl managed to make heads or tails of that message and actually build that portal.
"I want to shake your hand," He quickly grabbed her hand.
Under the hand that covered his face, he smiled.
She was talented, but she had done the hard work already. They had come for the device, and given time, they could easily find some criminals to work off what she did. And giving her any more time might call for help.
Hatsumei had barely slept in the last few days, so she was having difficulty focusing. She didn't realize they were villains until Shigaraki clamped down on her hand.
XANDAR
He did the best he could do when the clone wasn't looking. Stitch leaped onto his head.
"What you doing?"
"Rodeo!" With that, Sitch yanked on his hair, forcing the clone to turn and fly wildly to one side.
The other had to avoid the other two significant threats, Plasmus and Mister Freeze. Sinestro was still around, but he was searching for those who fled. Then they would even need to deal with Chemo and the Luthor by the machine.
Jenny, like her father, was working on a plan with what she had on hand. She was hiding behind some rubble with Ryuko.
Ryuko glanced at Jenny, "You want me to shot thunder at the iceman."
"Yes, well, specifically when he fires his ice gun."
"I don't know; I don't think it will do much."
"It will do enough; the electricity will heat up the air as it collided with his blast. I doubt it will do anything other than causing a smokescreen, but that's all we need."
Ryuko sighed and took a breath before she rushed into the open. Plasmus quickly turned to him and went to smash her.
"Water Dragon!" Ryuko activated the first her power and turned to water. Like a small tidal wave of water, she just around the monster's blow.
Mister Freeze reacted as anyone would; he moved to freeze the water. Ryuko quickly transformed as he aimed his weapon and activated her second power. "Thunder dragon!"
As the ice blast struck, a bolt of lightning, an explosion, and a fog erupted out, quickly engulfing the area.
Mister Freeze quickly lost sight of everyone; he steadied himself; he wasn't so foolish as to fire blinded. He could only assume that was his enemy's plan, to trap Plasmus.
He couldn't spend too much time thinking about this.
CRACK.
Mister Freeze collapsed as the glass dome over his head cracked, and heat quickly filled it. He gasped in pain. He looked up to find Jenny standing above him with a piece of metal she found.
She had military training implanted in her head; she knew how to be stealthy. It also didn't take much for her to realize that Freeze needed the suit to maintain himself. As he collapsed as the heat overwhelmed him, she took the gun. Her father would say several things, but she felt she could make an exception.
"Now!" She called out.
"Wind Dragon!" Ryuko yelled, turning into a gust of wind clearing the area.
Plasmus showed up, and Jenny had her target; she fired a blast encasing the large beast in ice. Jenny sighed before incasing Freeze, too; he wouldn't fight it; he needed the cold. Jenny would have to leave the gun; it was connected to the suit Freeze wore.
Meanwhile, Lex was talking to Venomous; Lex held his Mother Box, ready to use it if he heard something he didn't like.
"You think you can control the powers of the stones?" Lex asked.
"We have been toying with the idea,"
"An idea is wonderful, but it's just that an idea."
"Useless unless you have something to back it up. I'm sure you know the power behind the stones is too much to bear. Holding one stone would vaporize anyone; holding the energy even in smaller doses would likely do the same."
"You are telling me what I already know."
Venomous pulled out a small glowing orb, "This is called a Glorb; I kept a few on me in case the robots ran out of battery. While it's a power source for robots, it has some other effects on organic life. I've experimented on them for some time. I made a collar for Fink- my minon- it absorbs the glorb and lets her access its power safely."
Lex smiled, "And what does that mean to me?"
"We infuse the Glorb with some of the stone's power; whoever absorbs it would have the power of the stone infuse in their being. The glorb would help stabilize the power."
"But now that you told me that, what's to stop me from just taking the Glorb?"
"I could say that you'd need to know my universe or Glorb energy signature, but I'm sure you've already used that device to scan both of us.
"I did."
"I'd be disappointed if you didn't. What you lack is my experience with the Glorb, to both properly infuse it with the stone's power and to build the device to allow someone to absorb the energy."
"I'm sure I could do so in time,"
"True," Venomous tapped the machine absorbing the energy of the stones, "how much time do you have? I'm sure you've considered it if this doesn't work. What if Thanos survives? What if he finds out you destroyed his universe? What then? You could gather power from all the spots before you detonate I, save some from each." Venomous smiled, "The Avengers had records of people who have been exposed to the stone's powers, they had great abilities, and they looked like they grew. Someone properly exposed to all of them? They could be a match for Thanos. If we act quickly, you and your comrades could all have that power, each conquerer your own worlds after you finish off Thanos. All of that could you be for a low price."
"Which would be?"
"A ride to my universe,"
"That's it?"
"The universe is ending; I just want out before then."
"You don't want the power for yourself,"
"As tempting as it would be, I've tested it on myself since the last time I did; my body can no longer absorb a glorb. Outside an organic body, the power is likely to dissipate before it would do much good."
"And all you want is to leave this universe."
"I want my life, and I don't exactly control the means to leave this universe. I know these hero types, charging without thinking but in the vague hopes to save Someone. If I even suggest turning tails and running, I'd be lucky if they'd kick me back to my universe. This fight is lost; there nothing left to fight for. Once your devices go off, there will be seconds left; I do like those odds."
Luthor prided himself on reading people; after all, that was part of why he could build a business empire in his youth. He knew how to read people, knew when they were holding back or trying to cheat him.
Luthor smiled, assured that he was telling him the truth.
SAKAAR
On the ground, the villains were more than a little weary. Sure they had everyone else trapped under mind control, but that was a small comfort.
That was when the mirror they had used and out popped out the Mirror Master, except it looked like his arms and legs had been crushed. He wasn't conscious, and that wasn't helping things.
The Villains looked around Madam Rogue, passed by the hypnotized Rojo, not noticing her own reflection in the suit. A sizeable green hand popped out of the reflection and pulled her in. Madam Rogue tried to struggle and stretched out of it, but she was pulled in. Her screams did bring in the others.
"He's using the mirror gun." Livewire pointed out. "We have to avoid reflections,"
Then from the reflection on Psimon's steel brain cover plopped out a twisted form of Madam Rogue.
Bane was quickly figuring it out, "Banshee! Scream! Shatter every one of the mirrors!"
Before Silver Banshee could scream, the green hand jumped out of the reflection and pulled her in.
Livewire blasted Psimon away with a bolt of electricity, not wanting to be him just in case. The psychic was knocked out, so he wasn't complaining.
Bane yelled, "Coward! Face me like a man! Stop sneaking around."
The large belt he wore glinted as Silver Banshee was shot out. Bane didn't waste a second. He yanked off his belt and tossed it into the air for Livewire to fry it black.
Livewire, Bane, and Giganta were all those left; looking around, they spotted all sorts of reflective things., mirrors scattered beforehand, glass, some of their equipment.
"Fine," Bane spoke, "Come out, or we will start killing your friends."
"Excellent plan," Luthor called out; Emerald Empress used her powers to bring them down. "Put it can be better."
"I follow," the Empress waved her hand over the eye, "We've already killed your silver friend if you don't come out. I'll have them all kill themselves."
Everyone turned their weapon on each other or just put their hands on their necks.
Then from a mirror near Jack, Bruce stepped out.
Bruce tossed the mirror gun to the side.
"Good," Luthor told him. "Now-"
"Wait!" Bruce stopped him, "How do I know you won't hurt my friends?"
Luthor was about to say something when the air was filled with the sound of a snap.
The next thing they saw was Jack's body collapsing to the ground with his neck twisted.
"I have to admit, I didn't expect that," Luthor let out.
Truth be told, none of them expected Bruce to kill one of their hostages.
"You were just going to kill them anyway," Bruce looked at them coldly, "That's your plan, isn't it? Destroy this whole universe just to get at Thanos."
Luthor looked on, he didn't reply right away, "I can't say we aren't," For all his many faults, Luthor couldn't bring himself to lie about this, not to Someone he plans to take everything from, "You don't understand the scope of the threat."
"No, I think I do. I'm just unwilling to sacrifice trillions for some twisted sense of salvation. It just makes you like Thanos."
That was a bitter pill for Luthor to take, "No, I'm a lot better than Thanos."
A blast was fired, and it struck hard.
Livewire fell backward.
To everyone's shock Jack and raised himself and blasted Livewire. His neck snapping back into place.
"Thank god!" Bruce let out, "I knew they said you were immortal, I hoped it would snap you out of it, but-"
"Later!" Jack started to shot at the villains to provide some cover fire.
Bruce picked him and leaped into the stands.
"Get them!" Luthor ordered.
Giganta grew to giant size and stepped into the stands; Bane raced after her, and Livewire got up and arched around like lightning.
Luthor did stop the Empress from following, "Use the eye, get rid of the others."
"I can't let you do that." A voice rang out from the suit.
"What?" Before Luthor could do anything, his suit locked up. Nanochip started to eat through his suit from the inside out. It only took seconds before the suit had been converted to nothing but the chip.
Elena wasn't stupid; she figured a suit like that might have something that could beat her. When she stabbed the suit, she disabled it and put in some chips that dug inside and started to convert parts. Luthor didn't overload the battery; Elena just disconnected it. She was slowly taking control of the suit and waiting for the moment to strike. She didn't expect it to happen so soon; she was hoping to find some more information.
The suit grabbed the Empress, and they started to spread onto her. Luthor gasped as the chips snaked into his mouth and began to manipulate nerves causing his body to freeze up.
"Not being able to move is a heck of a thing, trust me," Elena told her. "Now, why don't you free my teammates, and I don't have to show you."
As the nanochip crawled into her skin, she couldn't control her hand, and they continued into her hand.
"You can do it now, or I can test it out by myself. I might need to borrow your body."
Elena might typically be a little nicer, but these people were trying to destroy a universe and threatened to make people kill themselves. She wasn't in the mood to be nice to them. She collected blood samples and skin samples just in case they were biologically keyed.
EARTH ITAZ-12009
SOUYU, JAPAN
NINJA-VAMPIRE'S SECRET HEADQUARTERS
Haruna, the self-called genius, was hooking up a doorway-like device to the power grid.
Seraphim had watched the girl work it for days. The first few days after the Vanishing, she spent working on whiteboards working on calculations. After that, she started to gather any she could get on to begin building. Haruna was laser-focused on building this device. They tried to get her to explain it to them, but she often gave curst responses or something none could understand. The most straightforward answer they got was that it would be faster for her to build it and show them than explain it.
Haruna jumped onto the computers she had plugged into together to try and get the program she had written to work. Haruna had barely rested in the last few weeks; sometimes she'd sleep for a few hours, she didn't even stop to eat, just eating while she worked.
It wasn't like Seraphim or the other vampires at the base could do much to stop her. The Vanishing had rocked the world, though no one knew the cause of the Vanishing people had started to delve beyond the veil. They knew humanity eventually would learn about the dangers hidden in the darkness.
The vampires had worked on protecting humanity from these dangers and letting them pretend they didn't exist to live in the bliss of that ignorance. They had failed.
It would be something if they knew where it came from, but they had no idea. Already they had confirmed that whatever happened in Villers and in the Underworld as well. This left no one unaffected, and people were in a panic. The Vampire clan worked on trying to maintain some order. Megalos had seemingly started to appear at greater rates, and they fought them. The battles in the dark were getting more difficult.
They thought with a Class AAA Megalo, Victorious and Undefeated Blue Whale had appeared over the city that it was over.
But they had Someone that was more than a match.
There was a yawn coming from a hand, soon saw Seraphim saw her. Naegleria Nebiros, better none as Nene, was a busty redhead; her hair long red hair had two shorter pigtails held with bat-shaped hair decorations. Seraphim could barely recognize the woman; she was used to seeing her wearing a simple purple top and some shorts. Now she wore dark leather slacks, gauntlets, pauldrons, breastplates, greaves, and a scarf, every piece enchanted by herself to protect her.
Seraphim had watched Nene, the strongest member fighter in the whole of the Underworld, and easily beat the megalo.
Sarasvati, the clan leader, a teenaged vampire, had long straight black hair and red eyes. She looked at Nene, "Thank you, Nene-sensei."
Nene herself waved off the remarks, "Don't worry about it; I'm happy to help."
Seraphim knew that was a lie. Maybe it was her experience with Lady Hellscythe and reading her expressionless face, but Seraphim saw a pained expression in Nene's gold eyes. Nene had left the Underworld and become a doujinshi artist and moved away from the life of fighting she had grown used to. Sarasvati was, in fact, a massive fan of her doujinshi. Seraphim could only imagine being able to settle and live a life of peace only to be pulled into a battle for a war they would likely not win or ever knew the opponent was a special kind of torture.
Nene smiled politely and waved at Seraphim.
Seraph was a beautiful young woman with long black hair in a ponytail, wearing a simple top and jeans. Her emerald eyes almost glowed even in the dim light.
Nene went over to pick up a duffle bag that she had left her clothes in when they called her.
"I did it!" Haruna cheered, the doorway lit up with a shimmering field of light.
"You did what?" Seraphim was the first to ask.
"I found it! I found where it started! Where it happened from!"
Haruna picked up her trusty pink chain, saw Mystletainn, and rushed into the portal, disappearing.
"What?!"
EARTH SE-51204
DEATH CITY, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
DEATH ROOM
"What?" Kid asked.
"Look," Kami tried to explain, "I don't know much about it. I thought it was a puzzle. I was at a bizarre and guy wearing a mask with an infinity symbol gave it to me."
The Frog witch poked at the orb; they'd been studying it for the last few days. "Really? I still can't believe Someone just gave you." Eruka touched the orb; after they figured out how to turn off the light, they found some interesting things.
The orb began to glow as it projects the solar system, a laughing sun, a spinning Earth, and a moon with a wide grin.
Maka watched on; since things had turned out this way, she and Tsubaki had become partners. Maka was a scythe meister and could only properly use her chain scythe form.
Marie was there hoping they had found something to help bring everyone back. Kami and Marie had partnered up; they used to be partners for s short time when they were in school together.
Kid was with Liz; Liz was wearing black instead of her usual outfit. Some black slacks and a white blouse under a black business jacket. Maka wasn't sure if Liz was in mourning or trying to match with Kid. With Patty gone, he wasn't symmetrical anymore; maybe this mirroring was just something to help him cope.
The ball blinked, "Huh?" Kami noticed as the image changed into words, "Detecting an unstable wormhole, passing near this dimensional coordinate. Would you like to help stabilize it?"
"Yes?" Eruka answered out loud.
The projection just flashed the words, Please Stand By.
The orb began to vibrate, so the two women did the most reasonable thing and tossed away from as far as they could.
The orb shifted, and something opened up before it projected a portal.
"Aaaaah!"
Outshot out a girl with a pink chainsaw.
"Okay," Kami mused. She stepped forward, grabbed the girl by her face, and pulled away from the saw, letting it drop with her free hand.
The girl yelled something into Kami's hand before trying to bite it.
"Ow! Ow! Ow! Let go!" Kami growled.
"Maybe you should be the one to let her go." Seraphim stepped out of the portal with Sarasvati and Nene.
Seraphim summoned leaves formed into a sword; as pair of bat-like wings sprouted from her back, she charged at Kami.
"Tsubaki!" Maka yelled out, and Tsubaki didn't miss as a step turning into a chain scythe.
Maka wrapped the vampire in chains and yanking her away from her mother.
Sarasvati pulled out her own sword from underneath her cape and charged.
Kid met her speed, kicking away her blade. Liz jumped and turned into a gun; Kid forced himself to hold the gun deal center and aim it. It was difficult, but it was closer to symmetrical.
Sarasvati's eyes glowed red, her wings sprouted, and with a strong flap, she knocked Kid back.
Eruka wasn't as helpful as the chainsaw seemed to come to life and chase her.
Nene rushed at Kami to grab Haruna; Marie had taken the chance to transform. With Kami, she sent a charge of electricity through Haruna, finally forcing her to let go.
Nene slammed into her but thankfully, using the demon hammer, blunted the attack. Marie sent another charge of energy into Kami, letting her run at high speeds, and she collided with the redhead. Kami swung the hammer at Nene, but there was a small shimmer of light, and she crashed.
"Huh?" Marie dropped out of the transformation, confused.
"Hey," Nene smiled, grabbing the confused Kami.
Kami wasn't going to just take it; she slammed her open into Nene's torso and used her soul force attack. It was an attack she'd worked on for a while, to channel her soul's energy right into Someone to hurt them. Nene hadn't expected that, and it took the air out of her lungs. Kami pushed her to the ground, mounting her to pin her.
"Hey," Kami smirked.
Marie sighed, "Why is it always redheads with you?"
Haruna leaped onto Marie, trying to pull her down. That wasn't going to happen; Haruna wasn't all that physically strong while Marie actually was.
Haruna struggled as Marie just looked on, more confused than anything. Haruna yelled, "Bring them back! Undo whatever you did to Ayumu and the Neckwaremancer and Yukinori! Why did you turn them to dust?"
"Wait, what?" Marie asked, pulling the girl off her. "We didn't do that."
The portal shut, and the room went quiet as the battles came to an end, as they all heard that.
Except for Eruka, she was wrestling the chainsaw, and it looks like she was losing.
XANDAR
Sinestro blasted Stitch off Bizzaro and kept the koala-like creature in a yellow bubble.
"Bizarro is ungrateful."
Sinestro shook his head; Bizarro's talk was getting annoying.
He held out his ring; a swarm of insects formed the energy attacking those who stood against him. He'd have to get more involved in the fight now that so many of his allies were down. Some of his swarm fought his enemies; others moved to free those who could still fight. The constructs began to free Plasmus from the ice and free Chemo.
"Time to call off your plague!"
Rocket emerged, his gun pointed at Sinestro; this being Rocket, he didn't bother to wait and shot him.
Sinestro rolled his eyes as his ring created a shield to block the blow.
The remaining of the Nova corp came out of hiding to join Rocket.
Sinestro merely scoff, "Is this the best you have? A rodent and those who we've already beat? Bizarro, take care of them."
The clone charged at them but paused and looked up.
Rocket smirked, "Yeah, I called in some help."
Above them, in the sky, there was a ball of energy shooting down towards them. Sinestro reacted by creating another shield, but he soon found it wasn't enough as it collided. His shield broke, and he was hurled backward. He forced his eyes opened to see Carol Danvers hovering in the air with energy emanating from her.
"Another Kryptonian?"
Carol didn't pay much attention and instead turned to Rocket, "Hey Fur Face, you needed help?"
Rocket clicked his tongue, "Took you long enough,"
"Hey, I wasn't even in the star system when I got the call." Captain Marvel ignored his comments, "So, what's the problem? All I got was that Xandar was under attack."
"Look, something is going on, and we don't have time to explain and duck."
"Duck?" Carol didn't finish that idea as Bizarro attack her, slamming her to the ground. Bizarro used his flame breath on her; the energy around her was protecting her but not by much.
"No!" Sitch jumped onto the clone and smacked him away.
The energy constructs were down because Sinestro was not focusing.
Sinestro started to recover, Sinestro started to conjure massive monsters to attack those around him, the Nova Corp charging, helping to fight them off. Rocket, being the smallest among them, skitted between the monsters and ran forwards.
He readied his gun-making adjustments as he prepared it.
Sinestro balked, "You think you can hurt me?"
"Funny thing, that's not the first ring like that I've seen. I did need a good scan of it to prep my shot."
Sinestro raised another shield, and Rocket fired, this blast causing the shield around him to ripple before another shot broke through it striking Sinestro.
As the fight continued, there was a flash of light, and everyone was stunned.
Luthor stood next to Venomous; Luthor held out the Mother Box, the device having stunned everyone present.
He sighed, "I suppose I shouldn't have left it to someone else,"
"If you want something done right, do it yourself." Venomous offered up.
Rocket got what was happening, "You-"
"Venomous snake?"
Rocket sighed, "Yeah, just started to walk into that one. Should have seen you betraying us coming."
Venomous shrugged, "I have to side with the side that will get me what I need."
"Quiet," Luthor slipped the Mother Box into his pocket, "And I will get what I need; moments from now, the machine will finish draining the stone's power from this area. "
"So we better act quickly." Venomous patted Luthor on the back.
Luthor realized something was wrong, he tried to move, but a gel quickly started to form around him. Luthor struggled.
"I slipped it out of your pocket," Venomous held out the Mother Box.
"You-"
"I lied to you."
"No, you didn't,"
Venomous sighed, "Maybe you're right; I would rather escape. I would rather just leave and try to find another way. The only reason I won't is that this is the only way to get them back. I'm no hero, I'm selfish, I'll tear apart the world to get what I want. I'm just a good enough liar to tell you enough truths, and what I would guess you'd want with details I did lie about."
Luthor laughed, "You fool, you don't understand it. If we don't destroy this universe, there won't be a chance for anyone to get anyone back."
Venomous tapped the buttons on the device, "Normally, I wouldn't dare get in the middle of another villain's monologue, but time is running out."
Ping.
Another flash of light and Luthor was knocked out.
SAKAAR
Bruce almost felt terrible; the stadium was being crushed by a giant.
"Throw me at her!" Jack told Bruce,
"What?"
"Throw me at her face!"
"Are you sure?"
"No, but we really don't have much time!"
Bruce hurled the man in the antique coat, but she just caught him. "Did you really think that was going to work?"
"Can't help a guy for trying," Jack smiled, "Hi Captain Jack,"
Giganta had to admit he did have a lovely smile.
"Now, put me down and surrender before I have to do something you'll regret."
Giganta chuckled, "What are you going to do? I'm outside your weight class, and you might be immortal, but I can still crush you." She wrapped her hand around him to emphasize her point.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure," she started to crush him, but before she could finish, she screamed.
A square-shaped blast tore through her hand, a perfectly squared hole cut through her hand.
Jack held a weapon that he'd dubbed the squareness gun.
"I try to end this peacefully." He pointed the gun at her eyes and fired again.
He had to change the setting, but a flash of light shot out, burning her eyes.
His eyes sting from the blast, but experience taught him they'd heal; he doubted her would.
Bruce wasn't going to get lucky anymore, as he was struck by one of Livewire's blasts. Bane pumping up the fluid flowing into him, growled, "You will die here."
"Yeah, let's see about that, sister."
Standing nearby was Shego. Her hands were aglow with green plasma-like energy.
It turns out The Emerald Empress didn't want to get trapped in her own body, and nanites in her body guaranteed she couldn't turn on them, so she undid her eyes powers and freed the others.
Shego shot a blast of plasma against Livewire; Livewire was made out of electricity. It was nearly impossible to hurt her with physical attacks, but an energy attack would hurt her.
Bruce grabbled with Bane, both struggling to overpower the other.
Bruce himself wasn't much a fighter; the Hulk relied mostly on his strength and little on skill. He was weaker because of their fusion, but he was smarter. It didn't take him long to figure out that whatever was being pumped into his veins was causing his boost in strength. He managed to switch places with Bane and jump back, getting out of the masked man's grip.
Bruce got back to back with Shego; Shego had managed to get a few good hits into Livewire forcing her to fall back.
"Hey, I need your help," Bruce told her.
Shego huffed, "Yeah, well, I'm busy with my own fight."
"Yeah, I can help with that too. Just- just when I give you and opening tear the cables on my guy's back."
Bane quickly grabbled Bruce again, and Shego had to dodge more blasts from her opponent.
"Did you think you could get away from me?" Bane taunted Bruce, "I believe you might be stronger than me but have no real fighting skill. No heart for the fight, all it will take is just take a keen mind to win this fight."
"You know what? I agree."
Bruce summoned all his strength to force them to trade positions.
"Now!"
Shego was bouncing around, dodging blast after blast when she heard that. She rushed over towards Bane and, with her arm engulfed by plasma and tore open the tube.
As the venom started to pump out of the tube, Bane began to lose his strength, and Bruce began to overpower him. Bruce lifted him into the air and hurled at Livewire was she prepared another attack. Once the liquid pouring out of the tubes touched her electricity, there was a massive discharge.
There was a flash of light, and Bane was twitching on top of a now solid and dazed Livewire.
On the other side of things, a blind Giganta had her own issues.
Frightwig wrapped up her hair around the giant's legs; Rojo helped her by shooting out cables to bind her up.
Wasabi was throwing his ki-blades at the giant; it caused her body to jolt as she started to freeze up. Silver Fang leaped on the giant, striking at her pressure points.
Fred finished it off by charging at her knees and his Kaiju aura striking her forcing her to fall backward. Silver Fang pulling Jack away just before the giant collided on the ground. This caused the stunned Giganta to shrink to a human form.
Elena started to dissolve the villain's equipment and use it absorb and use to make more nanites. Soon she had her whole body rebuilt. She still kept Luthor, and the Empress stunned and was keeping the eye. She wasn't sure if they could use it, but it might serve as a useful weapon against Thanos if they could. Though she wasn't going to trust the Empress, anyone who thought it was a good idea to destroy the universe was not someone she felt they could trust.
Bruce worked on destroying the machine; he blasted it and sent it into a mirror using the mirror gun. Bruce looked into the reflection before smashing it. According to the Mirror Master, doing that would destroy all the matter caught in it would essentially vaporize when the mirror broke.
Soon enough, Alexis and Greyman sent a device to help them capture the villains. It didn't take them too long to round them up and send them into the cube.
As they prepared to head back, they got another message. "Hey, I Cap asked for some help. Stuff going down in Wakanda."
"I guess we could," Bruce confirmed.
"Just open up a portal," Elena spoke to the coms device, "I got something we should look into later."
EARTH PMMM-2017
MITAKIHARA, JAPAN
MITAKIHARA MIDDLE SCHOOL
She could almost laugh. She wasn't sure, but she might of let out a chuckle.
Even as a comic entity, she never noticed.
The gears of reality, how everything fit together, working together in a grand design. The horrors and wonders, every person, good or bad, fit together, helping forge this reality. Everything was possibilities colliding with each other.
All the forces of reality were being pulled and tugged by thought alone—everyone's thoughts, feelings, emotions, fears, tugging and shaping it.
She could see it all now.
She had been wrong.
The Incubators were wrong.
Homura was wrong.
Madoka could see it now; she could see the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Atom spinning around, clouds of possibilities, all brought together by conscious thought.
The emotionless clockwork of reality, all of it was hung together by thought and emotions. The clockwork didn't care, but it was held together by precious life in defiance and entropy.
It was just all of us together, working, livings together; we gave each other meaning, gave reality meaning, and pushed the great gears to move and grow.
We were all we had.
And that's all we would ever need.
No gods, no magic girls, no incubators, no demons, nor witches. None of that matters in the grand scheme.
They could save themselves.
The act of trying to prevent entropy, the act of trying to change the natural order to actively interact with the gears and stop entropy. That every act ensured that entropy would win one day.
The Incubators trying to tamper with souls, trying to save the universe, ensured that it would one day die. To help stave off entropy, they merely had to be, to live to fill the universe with their selves and their emotions.
Madoka wasn't angry or upset; tears filled her eyes. She could only see the grand beauty of what the universe could be; even with the horrors, the world was beautiful. Even before her, the universe remembered those who were lost; it protected them. It was all apart of a beautiful design that dwarfed galaxies—all made by their hopes and dreams along with their fears.
She had never seen this before because she had been so focused on saving the magic girls, disrupting the world and time. She had a chance to see it when Homura trapped her and pulled her down, made her more human. Homura's actions only further damaged the world. Homura did so much damage; reality was twisted and, at times threatening to break.
How many times had those fences randomly changed?!
But now, Madoka saw that when Homura kept her mind clouded, she regained some of humanity, allowing her to put it in proper preceptive.
Mami and Nagisa stood on the top of the school, and Madoka did… something. They had no words for it, Madoka floated, and the universe seemed to open before her. Their minds struggled to make out what was even happening around her.
Nagisa spoke up, "Madoka? Do you know what's happening?"
Madoka turned to her and said, "Someone had disrupted the order, the cycle, and everything. The gears of creation are grinding to a halt. The wires that connect us all have been severed, and the great design is beginning to crack."
Mami asked, "Do you know how to stop that?"
"Maybe, I have hope," Madoka smiled; she could hear a song across the great divide, Someone calling for heroes.
Even at such great distance, there were those outstretching their hands to help.
XANDAR
It didn't take too long for Alexis to send the device, and the other gathered the baddies. Being stunned did help take out some of the heavy hitters.
Darrell walked over to Venomous cautiously, "Did you mean what you said?"
"Hm? What do you mean?"
"About getting them back? You're a good liar; you could be lying about that."
He smirked, "True, and good on your for noticing."
"Daddy, Fink, and maybe even K.O. Will you really try to get them back."
"Okay, I will lie through my nose if you ever call me on it, but yes. I mess up; I've messed up a lot with those three. I intend to do everything I can to bring them back."
"You mean the Shadowy Figure stuff, right?"
"Yes, and more,"
Venomous shut down the machine with the Mother Box, and Captain Marvel took it into the closes star, to be sure.
Carol said she'd stay on Xandar to help fix up the mess the villains left behind. Rocket had another issue.
"Hey!" Rocket yelled to everyone else, "We are needed back on Earth! Stars and Stripes and Iron Douche got some issues!"
Rocket opened a portal for everyone to take.
Nova Prime stopped him before he walked in, "Thank you if you-"
"Hey, don't worry about it. It would be stupid if we let Xandar get wrecked after we saved it." He sighed, "Sorry to hear what happened to Xandar with Thanos if we knew-"
"It's Thanos, one way or another, he'd tried something. But if you hadn't come, I'm sure they wouldn't have left anyone."
"You have no idea," Rocket paused as he was the last one to take the portal, "Normally, this would be the time I'd write up your bill, but I'll do this one pro-bono." Rocket gave her a small wave before stepping into the portal.
Author's Notes: Sorry for the long delay. Just this month turned out to be a lot busier than I though. Something has come up and its taking up a lot of my time. I want something done soon, so I gotta focus on it, I promise I'll explain it when its done.
Okay, first off, check out androgoz story Web of Worlds. Its a fun a cross over they are working on, and I have done a chapter for. Its looking good, so yeah, if you got some time check it out.
Second, go to youtube and check Soul Eater Meisterhood, I did the script for the latest Valentines day video.
Also check out the tv trope for this story, it looks like they'd added a character page. Its a great to keep track of universes, its incomplete but these things keep growing.
Also, rumor has it that Big Hero 6 is coming to the MCU. I take it this is because of me and this fic. I made it seem possible. I'm the dream maker, tell me other Marvel character who are unlikely to ever make it into the MCU but would love to see.
Okay, I gotta work on some other stories too, and I gotta finish this big thing and the sooner the better. But I will be back.
Okay, so notes, this is the bad thing about me writing this after the fact cause I don't remember all the facts. We see Bruce anger flair. People forget that Bruce is the one with anger issues, Hulk is the result. Go back to Avenger's two, Bruce straight up threatens to snap Wanda's neck if she tries anything. I think he's a good guy but don't mess with him. This version is a lot more confident and he's still figuring out everything.
Venomous isn't a good guy, he doesn't want to be. But, in my thoughts is that he wants to be a good person for his partner, his kids, but he can be blinded by his own issues and desires. Villains usually have issues not doing with whatever you want, but being part of a family is you can't think of just yourself you have to think about others too.
Otherwise we are seeing some stuff happening in other universes because why not.
Okay, so leave a review telling me what you guys think. I'll answer questions.
Q&A:
Super Domenic: I've answered you in dm. It was a long list.
Acosta Perez Jose Ramiro: Thanks
Guest 01: As always thanks for the thoughtful review. Always love reading them.
1. I aim for that, trying to show case the character in a way for those unfamiliar of some would still get an idea of who they are.
2. I'll try to add more, I felt this chapter was light on it. But there were some small moments for character if not heavy on interactions.
3. Maybe.
time will show if they will show up. Hm, Luthors seem to know something, they were pretty ahead of the game on somethings. And, yeah the ones in Wakanda were pretty strong.
5. MHA are doing progress but also stuff is happening so yeah. She-ra, like yeah you're fighting an enemy and they suddenly leave would be pretty surprising, especially after they seem to get more powerful. Again, she's got to build another portal again.
Yugioh thing, I think thats is a cultural thing. The shadow games were forgotten but there was lingering memory. Thats why games were always so popular. Even without power people sensed a connection to these ancient games and spirits, and it urged them a bit to use it more. Thats what I think.
6.1. I suppose so. My friend gave me the del torro films for christmas. I'm getting the animated stuff, I'm waiting for the last comic. And I bought animated figures, they had the giant skeleton sword of the storm. Basically I am trying to think of something for Hellboy. Thats not a bad idea though, might be something there.
6.2 Well you were the only to vote so sure. I'm going to do the rest of Wakanda in the end. I'm afraid it might be to spread out. Like all of these chapters are happening at the same time so I don't want to get anything too far ahead of the others.
6.3 I did a little bit of Madoka here. Again, I'll see if I can come up with anything.
Bloodyguy: They are starting to, their line is down at the moment though.
Jameyofthemegacosmos: I read this review and reread the ala mode stuff again. From what I saw they left to rethinks their lives. Love entered their hearts. As for what I think they are doing now, they are helping in their own ways. Will they show up? No. why? Because they are kinda bland, so much so I couldn't remember who was who. And their powers were very vague. I'm not sure what I could do with them.
themaninthemirror2000: I have an idea of who would be next. I can't say who, because I just forgot. Like, no fooling, I remembered working on it yesterday but as I write this I forgot. SO…
