Saiki and Lotus

~Thoughts of others~

Let Round Two Begin! - "Saik Did You–?"

"I think I'm gonna have to glue this thing to my face."

Lotus adjusted the mask on her face as she stepped out of the van again. It was a drastic thought, but she really didn't want Makoto to find out who she was.

The van had pulled up to a train station, Koen hoping to get some good shots there.

"Hmm...I think the train station is a good choice." Koen hummed examining the area. "Some shots of the stunt double jumping the turnstiles would be good."

Lotus looked around the area and didn't spot any pink hair.

"I don't see Saiki anywhere, so that must mean we're in the clear. Wait….Crap! If we're at the train station how the heck are he and Teruhashi supposed to get home?!"

"Hey get the camera I wanna get some filming done here!" Koen called out.

The men got to work, pulling out equipment and a large camera.

"All right I gotta do my best and stunt double my heart out to get us moving on as quick as possible!"

"Somebody help! Purse snatcher! He stole my purse!"

All eyes turned at the sound of female shouting. A woman around her mid-forties cried out, running after a man who had clearly taken her purse. She wasn't able to keep up and the thief quickly got out of the woman's reach. People gasped and shouted as the man ran through the crowds, shoving anyone out of his way.

"Someone call the cops!"

The Thief smirked believing he was gonna get away scot-free, but the odds were not in his favor as he was about to cross paths with the wrong teenage girl. He was just running by the train station and surprisingly it was Makoto who stepped in.

"Hey! Stop thief!" He shouts spreading his arms out acting like a human shield.

"Out of the way pretty boy!"

The thief body checked Makoto, something the superstar wasn't expecting, so without proper footing, he fell to the sidewalk rather hard. The crew members all gasped rushing over to Makoto's aid. The thief kept running and his pathway had him passing right by Lotus.

The masked teen was standing calmly but just as the thief passed by she moved.

"Haa!"

Lotus reacted by performing a perfect spin kick. The thief let out a strangled grunt as Lotus's heel connected with the side of his head. The purse flew out of his hand, and Lotus, with her leg still raised, simply held out her hand and the purse landed right there. The thief let out a gurgle as he crumbled to the ground, knocked out.

"Huh..That's like the third mugging I've stopped this year. Am I some kind of magnet?"

"Oh, thank goodness. You got my purse back!"

The victim of the purse snatching ran over with a relieved smile on her face.

"Here you go Ma'am," Lotus beamed, handing the purse over.

"No, thank you. You're a hero, a true blessing!"

Lotus chuckled rubbing the back of her head. "No, no, no need to compliment me so. I just did the right thing."

She looked over to Makoto and sighed. He may be a weirdo pervert stalker, but he did try to stop the thief. She walked over to him and held out her hand.

"Are you okay?" Lotus asked

"Y-Yeah," Makoto said, grabbing Lotus's hand.

"Tell me you got that on film! Tell me you got that on film!" Koen shouted, shaking the cameraman.

When he was up on his feet Lotus quickly let go of Makoto's hand. But the actor was staring at Lotus in admiration, he was practically sparkling.

"~This has to be my lady! She's selfless and helps anyone in need! Her kind nature can't be hidden behind a mask. And those soft smooth delicate hands, I'd know those hands anywhere!~"

"Geez….I wonder how Saiki's doing?"

"The date drags on."

Saiki and Teruhashi stood in front of a large multi-level indoor game station. Baseball, karaoke, and bowling were the main attractions featured on the side signage of the building.

"I haven't been to a place like this in forever! There are so many choices," Teruhashi gushed.

"This might actually work out for the best. In terms of making Teruhashi hate me."

"They have karaoke too," Teruhashi said

"~I hope he takes the hint. I'd much rather sing than go bowling.~"

So that's how not even five minutes later Teruhashi found herself with Saiki at the indoor bowling alley.

"Two for blowing right!" One of the attends said

"~Whhaaaat!~"

"I do feel kind of bad but it's better this way."

Teruhashi dejectedly took a seat as Saiki stepped to bowl.

"~He could've at least asked me before he decided to bowl. Oh! I bet he wanted to impress me by showing off his cool side! That's why he picked bowling! Of course, this is Saiki, so there's a good chance he'll get so nervous he screws up. At least then we'll be evenly matched.~"

Teruhashi's thoughts were cut off by the sound of a bowling ball demolishing a set of pins. She looked up and gaped finding that Saiki had made a strike.

Teruhashi trailed after Saiki almost glaring down at a sheet of paper in her hands. The paper read their scores from the bowling game, Saiki having totally destroyed Teruhashi.

"I humiliated her. I bet she likes me a lot less now."

The two were passing through the game centers arcade when Teruhashi spotted a crane game.

"Oh look! They got Gorillabbit stuffed animals! Saiki are you any good at-gah!"

Teruhashi was aghast as she spotted Saiki on the opposite crane game which housed anime girl figurines as prizes.

"I choose the opposite. I know how much you hate these figures, so I'll grab the worst one."

"~Whhaaaa!~"

"And next…"

Teruhashi and Saiki played several more games and the psychic dominated each one. By the end, Teruhashi could only see Saiki as some selfish punk.

"~So this what he's really like?~"

She stared at Saiki with the eyes of a dead fish, her face reading she'd rather be anywhere else than here.

"Teruhashi must've lost interest in me now."

"Should we go home now?" Teruhashi said

She didn't even wait for Saiki as she turned around and started walking away.

"If that's what you want."

"I'm exhausted!"

Saiki almost jumped, spooked by the sound of Makoto's voice sounding from right behind him.

"What?! Shoot! There were so many people around, and I was so focused on Teruhashi's inner thoughts that I didn't even notice him. Where's Lotus?! We gotta get out of here fast!"

Makoto glanced behind him and spotted Saiki.

"Is that you four eyes?"

"Times up."

"What?! Kokomi!" Makoto exclaimed, spotting his sister's retreating figure.

"Well it'll be okay he and I still have the same goal."

"~Right! Since I said we'd be filming in town she must've of came over here to get away...with four-eyes!~" Makoto's face morphed into one of rage and hatred, veins pulsing in his face. "~Sneaky, rotten four-eyes! Using that as an excuse to go on date with the already spoken for Kokomi!~"

"Calm down! Don't lose sight of our common goal."

One of the crew members noticed Makoto's sudden anger.

"Hey what's wrong?"

"Crap! We gotta go now!"

Saiki grabbed Teruhashi's hand and took off.

"~Wha?!~"

"What?! That four-eyed bastard just grabbed her perfect hand! Don't let him get away!" Makoto shouted

At that moment Lotus finally reappeared. When the crew stopped to take a break she took the opportunity to go to the bathroom. Since she couldn't sense Saiki she thought it'd be safe, but how wrong she was.

As she entered the area she spotted Saiki running by, with Kokomi's hand in his. Lotus froze and her only focus was the two's hands.

Saiki quickly found a photobooth nearby and pulled Teruhashi inside.

"One minute. I just have to buy us one minute."

The curtain behind them closed and about a minute later the film crew approached the booth.

"Here?"

Someone pulled away the booth's curtain but found that it was empty.

"Huh? Not in here. Where'd they go?"

The group departed unaware that Saiki and Teruhashi were actually still in there, just invisible thanks to Saiki's powers.

Lotus took a seat at a nearby bench staring intently at the photo booth. Her hands gripped tightly onto the edge of the stone bench, almost shaking as she kept her focus on the booth listening in.

"That was close. Had to make both of us invisible. If I'm touching someone else I can hide them right along with me."

"I'm not jealous! I'm not jealous! I'm not jealous!" Lotus chanted in her mind

Teruhashi stood still next to Saiki, her eyes wide.

"~The nerve of him! I can't believe he just took my hand like that! What's gotten in that boy!~"

"Bet she hates me even more for grabbing her without permission."

"~How selfish is he?~"

"It worked out. Now it's over. Now she'll finally-"

"~But why! Why is my heart fluttering like crazy?~"

Teruhashi turned to Saiki with lowered eyes, "You want a picture?"

"Well, that's a twist."

Lotus clenched her teeth and a low cracking noise sounded from beneath her. The stone of the bench Lotus had been holding onto cracked due to the sheer unyielding force of her gripping fingers.

Lotus gasped pulling her hands away as she realized what she did. Before anyone could notice, she got up and quickly ran off, hiding behind the corner of a nearby wall.

She let out a groan with her hands on her head.

"Ughh! I can admit when I'm wrong! I'm totally jealous! I know Teruhashi doesn't even really like Saiki and just wants him to bow to her like any other guy, but with them like that, I can't help but feel jealous!"

Lotus sighed, rolling her shoulders. She was finally done with filming. It was a good minor distraction from what happened earlier but her mind couldn't help but replay Saiki holding Teruhashi's hand.

Instead of getting a ride home in the van, Lotus opted to stay, with the intent of hanging out with Saiki. Makoto seeing that Lotus wasn't getting in the van, tried to stay as well and had to practically be dragged back.

Lotus, now mask free, stood on a sidewalk waiting for Saiki.

"I can't believe I reacted like that earlier, but I just couldn't help it!"

"You were jealous."

Lotus turned around to find Saiki standing there. The pink-haired boy finally got rid of Teruhashi and quickly made his way to Lotus.

"Gah! Do you have to bring that up!" Lotus put her hands in her face. "I'm so embarrassed! I haven't been jealous of anything since I was a little kid! I'm filled with shame!"

Saiki's mouth twitched as a small smile came forth. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't amused.

Lotus kept her face covered far too embarrassed to make eye contact. She stayed like that until her hands were grabbed and pulled away from her face. Before she could react she felt something warm press against her cheek. It was gone as fast as it came but the warmth left a lingering tingling on her cheek that spread to her entire face.

Lotus's mouth opened a silent gasp caught in her throat. She whipped her head to face Saiki, the male wearing his normal calm expression, but if you looked closer you'd see the faint redness gracing in his cheeks.

"S-Saiki did y-you-"

Lotus stuttered and it was hard for her to get all her words out as her entire face turned red.

"Here."

Saiki grabbed Lotus's left hand and intertwined their fingers.

"Saiki…"

"Come on. There's still plenty of time to hang out."

Lotus smiled shyly, pushing some of her hair, behind her ear. The apple of her cheeks still cherry red.

They held hands the entire way there and the entire way home too.
