Previously on Fairy Tail

"H-Hey-" Sting dropped to his knees before collapsing making Vyra and Rogue stubble over to his figure

Once they did, the duo dropped to the ground.

"I know we're drained out of magic power anyways..." Sting began

"...but somethin' feels off-"

"Y-Yeah-" Vyra slowly cranked her head to the right

"They must've activated the faces-" Rogue concluded as the trio starred up at the stars unable to move

Vyra in the middle, Sting to her right, and Rogue to her left.

She inhaled before shedding a tear.

'Natsu... Gray... It's all up to you now.'

"DAD NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

With hearing an ear shattering screech, the blunette's heart thumped hearing the pink dragon slayers cry.

"N-Natsu..." She croaked

After dealing with Gray's loss earlier, Vyra froze. The pain in his voice... hearing it... struck a nerve down her spine, just like before.

Although they were successful with stopping the faces, the trio of Vyra and the twin dragon slayers were still completely out of magical energy.

'G-Get up-' The blunette began to drag herself as Sting and Rogue watched her struggle.

but instead something else incredible happened.

Four dragons appeared and flew down.

"Grandeeney!" Wendy shed a tear as he and Gajeel ran up

"Metalicana..." Gajeel gawked

"Skiadrum-" Rogue whispered

"W-Weisslogia..." Sting stuttered

As much as they were shocked seeing their dragons, Vyra being the only non dragon slayer watched in complete awe.

W-Woah...

'So these are... their parents-'

But something didn't settle right.

'One, two... three, four...' She counted in her head

They're missing one.

"Where..." Vyra inaudibly mumbled before she shouted catching everyone's attention

"Where is Igneel!?"

Feeling the immediate pressure from the dragons around her, she instantly stiffened.

"..."

"Ah, Igneel's kid-" Metalicana began making her heart beat rapidly in nervousness.

'Holy, I'm having a conversation with a dragon...'

"I can smell him on you-"

'Uhh. Weird...'

But something... still made the girl's stomach twist.

'Igneel's missing... and Natsu...'

His-

His voice...

After explaining the reasons why they came back to earth, it was time for the dragons to say their last and final goodbyes.

"This is goodbye Wendy-"Grandeeney leaned forward

"Y-You're l-leaving m-me?" The smaller dragon slayer sniffled

"Sweet girl. The road you face is frolicked with peril. but i've seen you gain the strength to walk it..."

"N-No no no Grandeeney! N-Not without you!"

'Oh Wendy...' Vyra watched the younger girl break down until Gajeel out of all people, calmed her down

"Let's see em' off kid, with our heads held high-" He ruffled her hair standing slightly behind her

Analyzing each and every dragon before they flew up, Vyra's eyes lingered on a very specific one.

'Weisslogia...'

The Dragon of Light...

His light energy was even brighter than Sting's. This was incredible.

Noticing the stare, the dragon turned his attention towards her tiny figure before flickering his eyes to his son one last time.

"Farewell humans, once very long ago there were terrible attacks against our kind and yours. It warms my head in the end to see us part in friendship"

"The era of dragons has ended. We leave this world to you, to protect-"

"The power of man shall pave the future-"

"We will continue to watch over you forever"

"PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME!" Wendy cried as Vyra quickly went down to embrace her in a tight hug

"I love you Wendy, always..."

"Hey, you should get that face checked out-"

"WAITA RUIN THE MOMENT YOU BIG RUST BUCKET!" Gajeel spazzed before smirking

...

"I'll miss you too..."

"Weisslogia, thanks for everything-" Sting and Rogue shared an emotional glance watching their dragons

"Rest well..."

And with that, the dragons disappeared into the bright pink beam of light shot down from the sky.

As the clouds dissipated with the smog lifting, a certain dragon slayer was dropped to his knees. Eyes widening, the bluenette limped over to the sight.

"N-Natsu..." Her eyes wavered watching the fire dragon slayer... completely broken.

He wasn't moving a single muscle nor did he respond to her.

"N-Natsu!" She repeated this time with a shout catching a glimpse of his expression.

Tears were spiralling down the boy's face at an unconditional rate. The dishevelled dragon slayer shook, with his throat too dry to speak.

Lifting his head, Natsu turned to Vyra, making tears start to water in her own eyes.

"V-V-y-y..." He uttered out the only word he could put together. His nose was running, eyes puffy and tear stained with his hands trembling uncontrollably.

"I-" Vyra hesitated

She's never seen Natsu so broken down before. I think the only time was Lisanna's passing, but that was so long ago. Similar to Gray in a sense. But this was Igneel they were talking about here. The dragon who Natsu devoted himself to finding. The reason why he joined Fairy Tail in the first place. Finally they reunited... and for it to end like this.

"I got you-" She dropped to her knees, grabbing his wrists, pulling his lifeless body into hers. Quickly, she wrapped her arms around his shoulders as he stood still.

After a few moments go by Natsu instantly wrapped his arms around her torso pulling her in tighter, crying into her shoulder.

Accepting it, his whimpers and sobs got louder making Vyra freeze.

Her heart ached, feeling everything he was feeling. His tears slid down her arms as if he created a river with them. She didn't know what to do.

This was Natsu here. Her best friend. The one that's always crazy, wanting to fight, having a good time...

His brokenness began to break her.

"I-" She bit her lip trying to hold back the tears, leaning her forehead against his.

Her throat closed, unable to speak. What was she going to say? What could she possibly do to make the situation better? Heck Vyra herself didn't even know that.

But all she did was hold him. He needed somebody right now. Regardless of what anyone says.

Because…

That's what bestfriends are for.

'It's been a week since then, the war with Tartaros left us all with wounds. Magnolia took a lot of damage... and our guildhall was reduced to a pile of rubble. A part from the destruction here, the faces have devastated cities across the continent...'

'Although on the bright side, Vyra has been extra close to Natsu. It was really sweet to see them silly together again. Knowing that Igneel is forever gone, I couldn't imagine how Natsu is feeling. His whole life was devoted to finding him... and now he finally has... to be taken down by Acnologia...' Lucy paused in sorrow lifting up her quill before she began to write again

Oak Town

"Gray-" Vyra shielded her eyes from the heavy snow falling. She wore a thick winter coat with a pair of boots, earmuffs and mittens, holding onto a warm beverage in her hand.

"It's getting dark out-"

She looked up to the sky before taking a seat next to the ice mage, grabbing a hold of his fidget pale hand warming it up with her rosey red mittened one.

As much as Vyra loved Gray, let's just say she wasn't a fan of the weather.

They came early in the morning for a visit, but now it was almost sun down. Respecting Gray of course, Vyra obviously didn't oblige. She wanted to pay respects to Silver and Mika. Although getting up to leave... the girl understood how difficult that could be.

"Yeah." Eyes shadowed, he gripped her hand before standing up.

'Mika... Silver...' She eyed the makeshift stone

'Thank you.'

Fairy Tail guild Hall

"Well... so what now? Time to start rebuilding again?" Mira questioned as all the guild members stared at the giant whole where the guild would've been.

"I suppose..." Makarov concluded

"It's going to be tough, the townspeople fixed it up for us the last time-" Jett went on

"Yeah, something tells me we'll have to handle it ourselves..." Droy chomped down on a chicken leg

"Tch. I shouldn't be here... I really don't have the right..." Elfman turned, ashamed

"This isn't your fault Elfman-" Lisanna spoke as Master Makarov stared deep in thought

"..."

"This isn't anyone's fault. Perhaps it's a signal..." He lightly spoke catching Mira's attention

"To Mark The End Of An Era..."

A/N: And this closes out Tartaros. A bit of a shorter chapter, but I'm so excited for what's to come. One year's time skip, hm... Any idea where Vyra will end up? Comment below!
