Replacing what once was the Beige family deli, the Grand Baked Adelia rose from the ashes spearheaded by Fox and Yatsu being bankrolled by Coco. The place grew quickly in support by showing support for Crimson. Coco had gotten in contact with Roulette which got Fox and Yatsu access to more customers, equipment, and employees. Sure, those two new employees were tattooed crooks, but they could cook. Irony was Yatsu hired a few former students as servers. Overall, business was good, and the place was a hotspot.

Vivi was sipping her mistake looking over to see Sanzandora was here drinking a few shots. Simply put, word got out that Giselle jumped ship. That got plenty of the students to jump ship. Cardin was also there glaring at the lunch like it insulted his mother.

"Hey, Headmistress." Coco said walking in with Kay. "How's Pokémon Tech?"

"Fuck off, dyke." She snarled back.

"Oh, come on, I don't mind a sausage." Kay said sarcastically.

Sazandora turned to the bartender asking for another shot only for the tender to cut her off.

"Oh come on, I have mon-"

"Headmistress! Cardin! There you are!" Sky said running in.

"What, is the school on fire?" Sanzandora drawled as he shook his head. "Then pis-"

"It's Joe. One of those little flying cameras caught an explosion over at East Kanto. It's Joe, and he's fighting a legendary!" Sky said as he was not alone.

Other students followed as the headmistress spat out her drink.

"What?!"

Yatsu just turned on the television to see it for themselves. People took seats ordering a drink or two, and Cardin was floored.

The explosion tore up the building with a hole on the side as Zapdos flapped his wings getting into the air. The smoke cleared to reveal Ignacia who stood tall…as did Joe. Zapdos may not had looked it, but he had taken a serious spot of damage from the explosion.

"I can't let this one stand." Zapdos said only for rain to fall. "Convenient."

"Damn it." Joe thought. "Well, a cut down on fire-moves. No matter."

"It seems your options are limited, Joe!" Zapdos mocked.

"No, it's not. I got two words for you. Rock Tomb!" Joe said as Ignacia summoned rocks that surrounded and crushed Zapdos.

"That should cut his speed down unless he has Agility as a move. I need to return her now." Joe thought before returning Ignacia as Zapdos broke down the tomb.

"From the shadows, Tobirama." Joe said sending out Greninja.

"A water-type?!" Cardin asked watching from the café. "He's lost his mind!"

"Shut up!" Coco said watching intently. "He's got this."

Zapdos looked at the Pokémon and let out a bellowing laugh asking how it that water-type a threat.

"I may not be a threat, but my aim is." Tobirama said before using Smack Down. "Wing Clipper Jutsu!"

The legendary bird had it's first taste of Smack Down hitting the ground with a wet thump. Zapdos sparked with electricity enraged calling for thunder as the clouds grew dark. Joe realized he was calling for a Thunder attack not on them, but itself.

"Tobirama, Hydro Cannon!" Joe called out.

"Foolish child, no one can outspeed me." Zapdos declared.

"You are right, but I have the power and a Quick Claw!" Tobirama said as the claw glowed.

Before the thunderbolt could come down, Tobirama glowed bright blue before raising his hands to form a triangle shape as the center glowed.

"Ultimate Water Technique: Hydro Cannon!" Tobirama shouted before releasing a powerful stream of water from the triangle.

The blast nailed Zapdos jettisoning him into the cliffside before the electrical blast hit. Being that as it may, the blast did electrocute them both. Tobirama collapsed twitching from the zapping as Zapdos was showing labored breaths.

"Ok, no more screwing around!" Zapdo angrily roared as thunder rumbled. "I see you a real threat now!"

[Cues: Street Fighter 2 OST – M. Bison Theme]

Joe figured it was cheating. However, he was fighting a legendary, so he called for Stocking to make a switch. Ann Wolfe was sent to the PC to which in active party was Jian, who he sent out. Zapdos had used Heat Wave while Joe had Jian fire back with Icy Wind. The rain had cut down on Heat Wave's power causing the clash of winds to make a burst of lukewarm mist. Joe used the chance to get out a Dire Hit and an X Speed to use on Jian. Joe was never one to use them, but this situation called for them. Zapdos flew up into sky into the clouds getting zapped by lightning as bolts came raining down forcing people to move out of the way.

"Now, it's high time you fall!" Zapdos said before releasing a massive Thunder from out of his body coming back.

"Jian. Stand still and don't move. When it's over, use Rock Slide and end this asshole!" Joe said as Jian nodded.

Jian took her breath and closed her eyes. Her Steel-typing only shaved off half of the pain she would have felt if she was a pure Flying. The explosion sent Joe onto his back with a cloud of black dust. Zapdos looked down at the explosion site as the cleared. Joe was on the ground and Jian stood seemingly paralyzed.

"Game over, guppy. It's like I said, I never lose." Zapdos said as Sissi looked ready to jump in to fight.

Zapdos felt a pebble hit his head before looking up right as Jian's eyes snapped open glowing white. Zapdos looked like a Deerling caught in headlight as rocks rained down with a big one smacking into him sending him crashing into the tall grass nearby.

[Music Ends]

Joe got up with his clothes wrecked, blood from the mouth, and a head wound. Jian weakly walked to her trainer who gave her an affectionate nuzzle.

"Good job…now rest up. Sissi'll heal you." Joe said gently before going inside.

Sissi wasted no time doing that as Joe walked straight to where Zapdos had crashed.

"How?!"

"Focus Sash around Jian's neck. I just knew if she stood still and endured…it would have been more likely to activate to let her rip off one attack." Joe said as Zapdos let out a hollow laugh.

"Then this is a loss…that I must accept. I have not taken a 'champion' in the modern era. Do not disappoint." Zapdos said before Joe wordlessly used a Luxury Ball.

It waggled as everyone watching was on the edge of their seats…and then it clicked. Joe Rogers now owned a legendary. Joe laughed as the ball vanished. He lumbered over to Jian before returning her swapping Ann Wolfe back to the main party.

"Sissi, dear?" Joe asked.

"Yeah…"

"I think I need a doctor." Joe said before collapsing.

(Viridian City | May 13th | 1:15 p.m.)

Tension. The explosion killed the flying camera leaving to that they had no idea what happened. Cardin let out a roar of frustration.

"This is bullshit! I'm here feeling sorry for myself while he's out there fighting legendaries. Doesn't matter if he won or not, he's out there getting stronger." Cardin said getting up. "No more of this. If I'm going to crush that bastard, I need to change my training habits."

"Cardin, I can help with tha-"

"Oh, shove it, you withering bitch. You're not even half as good as Verdant was." Cardin said getting gasps from the students. "I stuck with you, and I've done nothing but get my ass kicked. I'm done getting beaten every time!"

Cardin stormed off as Sazandora got up to go after him only to stumble falling to the ground. She had too much to drink…and Cardin forgot his food. What a waste…

(A/N: Cardin's jumping ship though with less than noble intentions. It seems things will heat up for our heroes as Joe now has a bit of a target. Who's to say none of Team Rocket saw that?)
