Over on the Wanderer, Brienne Phasma is not amused.

"Ren, I want to talk to Armitage. Now."

Kylo winched back from the angry voice coming from the comm.

"Phasma, I told you he can't talk right now."

"What did you do to him, Ren?" Phasma's voice was a low, menacing growl.

"Blondie!" A second female voice came over the comm, "My Master would not hurt General Hux."

"He has in the past, Red." retorted Phasma.

"He's fine Brienne. Relatively," responded Kylo.

"What does that mean Kylo?" Phasma's voice had knives slicing through it.

"It's hard to explain, Brienne. It's a Force thing." protested Kylo.

"Try, Ren," she insisted dryly.

"It's not something we should talk about over an insecure comm line," he deflected. "Once we land you can see him and Dr. Galen will explain everything."

"Fine." she spat. "I'll wait. but if I don't get an explanation when we land we will have words."

Kylo grimaced. Having words to Phasma usually included sharp pointy things and blaster fire.

Back in the cabin, Aurelia sighed in relief and looked over at Rey.

"I think I have him stable at the moment. I going to let him regain consciousness. At least until we get to the Charterhouse."

"You know he's going to pitch a fit about using the Force on him," commented Rey.

"Probably," replied Aurelia calmly. "It appears to be his default setting. Though he certainly does have the right to be upset with me."

Rey closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them. "Kylo would like me to join him in the cockpit for the landing at Sruighlea Aerodrome. Do you still need me?"

"I have things under control," Aurelia assured her confidently.

Rey nodded and left for the cockpit. Aurelia stretched a bit in her chair next to the bed. Her back ached. Her head ached. Even her eyes ached. She had gone almost a complete cycle with no sleep. Hux had needed constant monitoring during the initial phase of his Awakening in the Force. So far he had shown only a few symptoms of Threshold Sickness, but she knew that it could be much worse.

She sighed as she brushed his hair back from his forehead. It was tempting to take a deep dive into his memories while his mental barriers were weakened, but that would not be ethical. Checking his surface level thoughts for signs of distress, that was an acceptable use of the Force in her opinion. She left her hand on his forehead and focused her mind, connected with the Force, and started to skim his thoughts.

The grip on her wrist was sudden, strong, and painful. Aurelia looked down into a pair of angry green eyes. Hux was not amused.

"Get out of my head," he growled menacingly.

***TaBa***

Up in the cockpit, Kylo had just acknowledged landing instructions from the Sruighlea Aerodrome Control.

"Hux is awake," he commented to Rey.

"How can you tell?" she inquired.

"I can feel him in the Force. He's seriously pissed off."

Rey focused. "Wow, someone is in drastic need of anger management training."

Kylo rolled his eyes."I thought I was bad. Hux is at a whole new level of mad."

"And Aurelia isn't much better," he added.

"Do you think Aurelia can keep him under control?" asked Rey.

"She'd better," he fumed. "If Hux damages the Ghost I won't be anything close to amused."

***TaBa***

"Let go of my wrist," said Aurelia evenly.

"Get out of my head first," responded Hux.

"I am attempting to mitigate the symptoms of the onset of Threshold Sickness."

"Get. Out. Of. My. Head."

Aurelia huffed. Insufferable man. "You have no idea what you are asking for."

The grip on her wrist increased to a bone grating level.

Aurelia's temper began to get the better of her. She was only trying to render aid. She didn't care what secrets he was hiding behind his barriers. Not really.

"Fine. Just remember, you demanded this," she snapped crossly as she withdrew from his mind.

Hux released her wrist and sat up on the cot.

"Now that you're out of my head I want an explanation," he said.

"You had an Awakening in the Force and are experiencing the beginnings of Threshold Sickness," answered Aurelia wearily.

"You keep saying that. It's a statement, not an explanation." Hux swung his legs over the side of the cot and glared at her.

Aurelia crossed her arms and glared back. "Short answer then. An Awakening in the Force is when a person with no prior indications exhibits a level of Force sensitivity. Threshold Sickness often occurs in persons who have an Awakening later in life."

"What does this have to do with me?" asked Hux. "As I said earlier, I'm as Force-sensitive as a hunk of granite."

"Foolish man!" she exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air. "I can feel your Awakening! And I am sure Kylo and Rey can also. You glow with potential, Alasdair!"

Hux stood up abruptly, looming over Aurelia. "There has never been a Force user in my family line. Why me? Why now?"

Aurelia stood up. He was not going to play dominant body language games with her. "Stubborn fool, the Force does as the Force will." she stated flatly, "It is a power and does not have the same wants or needs that a sentient being would. I don't know why it chose to manifest in you, suffice that it has. And I am not going to let you suffer through Threshold Sickness and do nothing to help you survive it."

They continued to glare at each other, neither willing to give an inch to the other. As they stood there the gentle buzzing of the intra-ship communication system sounded in the room.

Kylo's voice followed the buzz. "Hux? Aurelia? The Ghost is on final approach to Sruighlea Aerodrome. I need the two of you to come forward and secure for landing."

"We're on our way," answered Aurelia.

Rey's voice came across. "Is everything alright, Aurelia?"

"Everything is fine, Rey," Aurelia said.

Hux and Aurelia looked at each other for a long moment.

"Truce?" asked Aurelia.

"For now," agreed Hux.

The ramp had barely been lowered when Phasma came stomping up into the Ghost and in Kylo's face.

"Well?" she barked. "Where is Armitage?"

"Blondie, give them a chance!" protested Kateria as she puffed up the ramp behind her. "We just barely landed."

"I'm out of patience Red," replied Phasma. "Well, Ren? What the hell is going on?"

"I'm ok Brienne," said Hux wearily as he stepped out of the cockpit. He put his hand upon the opening to steady himself before he walked into the lounge area. Aurelia followed him out, a worried look on her face.

"Are you in pain, Armitage?"

"Don't hover, Doctor Galen," he responded

She glared at him. "I am asking you as your doctor," she snapped.

"I'm just tired," he answered, "and my headache is back."

Aurelia chewed on her lower lip in thought. "Anything else? Nausea? Dizziness?

"Both, a bit," he agreed reluctantly.

"Hey, guys," called Kateria as she looked down the ramp, "There's a transport pulling up."

Aurelia went over and looked out. She smiled. Something was going right.

"That's our ride." She turned to Kateria and Phasma "You probably should go back to your ship and make a bag to take with you."

"I'll take care of it, Blondie," Kateria said to Phasma. "You stay and help Slim."

"I'll get our things together while you shut the Ghost down," Rey told Kylo.

"Could you get my bag, Rey?" asked Aurelia. Rey nodded.

She turned to Hux and held out her hand. "May I help you down the ramp?"

"I've got him, doc," said Phasma. Ignoring his protests, she slung an arm around his waist. "Come on, Armie."

Author's Notes: I'm sorry I couldn't get this chapter out sooner. I think I am going to have to change the posting schedule to every week and a half as opposed to every week.

Yes, I found it amusing to have Kylo worry about Hux damaging his ship in a fit of anger.

Aurelia is a grump when she goes too long without sleep. And she's probably over caffeinated.
