Bella accepted my proposal for the biography project and we formulated a plan. I am so relieved and dearly hope that I can avoid lying directly. I shall have to lie by omission, but it seems the lesser of two evils.
Months ago I would have dreamed of talking to Bella like this, of making the plans we made today, of being so close to her.
We spoke a little about our interests outside of school and went through the questions that Mr. Berty had suggested about our families and how we define our identities. I spoke about my family and she hers, but when it came time to talk about ourselves, I found it very difficult to define myself, having not been asked such a question before. Bella also struggled. It seems we do not know ourselves.
Bella made the suggestion that we do activities together and learn about who we are, then write up our discoveries week by week. She almost made it sound fun. I should email her to get the ideas organised and to make the necessary arrangements for next week with her.
I surely feel very lucky, but mostly I feel humbled. I have been given an opportunity I am most undeserving of, but one I fully intend on making the best possible use of. I shall learn who I am and more, who I want to be.
How do I reconcile this young woman who cannot say who she is with what I see before me?
Looking at Bella Swan, is like looking into the face of god. It is beautiful and terrifying in equal measure. Everything around her is in an aura of hushed reverence, the room brightens when she is present, the frenzied minds of all others fall away and I am caught, as if in a warm sunbeam, as dust motes silently make their lazy way upon the breeze and I know a peace I have never before known.
She feels like home.

More comedy is on the way now that Edward has to get over himself, he's still very sad and lovesick, so there's going to be angst too, of course. This story is labelled as angst/comedy and though it started out as comedy caused by Edward's angst, it is now a balance of both I guess. Edward is going to grow so much. I hope you like who he becomes and watching him get there.
