Chapter Sixty-Six

AN:
Thank you for baring with me through this grueling Tag Duel Event. I know it took me a while to finally move passed this part of the story in the Original. I had been struggling with trying to structure this duel for literal months. And I know it's still not that great...Definitely not one of my finest written duels but it was my first time writing a Tag Duel and it was definitely more difficult than I initially anticipated it, so I thank you for your patience and baring with me through this event and I am so happy now to finally have moved passed this and be able to begin working back into the plot towards "Spirit Caller's" End. Don't worry we still have a little while yet...but yes, Spirit Caller IS now reaching close to its end. I hope you will enjoy the adventure I have in store as we get there!
The entire school cheered when victory rained upon to Chazz and Connar Tag Team, as the Brother's Princeton fell to their knees in defeat.
"They did it!" Syrus beamed.
"They saved the school!" said Jaden joining in with the rest of the crowd in an audible standing ovation that rattled their already shaking bones as they took in a win from below. Chazz and Connar exchanged a glance and grinned as they slapped their [alms together in a firm clap before breaking into shared laughter. The pink haired girl squealed and leapt for joy right into Chazz's arms as he caught her and spun her around both absolutely beaming until he suddenly froze in place. Each one staring into the other's eyes just inches from their face before blushing wildly and he placed her back down safely onto her feet and coughed.
"Ahh...right." he spoke as he cleared his throat and blinked, still rosy cheeked, "...Thanks a lot, Connie..." he said softly.
"F-For what?" She blinked blushing, "I literally didn't really do anything...you were the one who made all the moves to victory..."
"But you did do something that I could never have done without you..." he stated, "...You covered my ass." he chuckled.
"Hmph...as recklessly foolish as you are...SOMEONE needs to cover your ass!"
Kaibaman huffed as Connar tried to muffle her snickering.
"Be nice!" she giggled.
"You got something to say to me buddy!?" Chazz huffed, "Because I'm right here!"
No longer invisible to the Princeton's eyes Kaibaman shot a sharp glare at the ash haired male who glared right back just the same leaving Connar to sigh.
Children...the both of them.
She thought to herself.

"I Can't believe it..." Mokuba fell to his knees shaking as he sighed in relief with tears stinging the corner of his eyes, "Connar's deal rang through...they won!" he chuckled.
"...Of course they won." Seto stated with arms folded over his chest, "Did you really think I would give Duel Academy to those two?" he blinked, "Those Brothers Princeton have a lot to learn about World Domination...and especially more so about whose daughter they decided to mess with."
Mokuba blinked as he looked back towards his older brother.
"You really didn't doubt Connar for a single second, did you?" he asked.
"Hmph." Seto huffed as he turned and began to walk out of the booth they watched the duel from, "...Let's go Mokuba." he said.
"Yeah, All right..." Mokuba blinked, "But before we head home...I'd like to pay a visit to my niece, first." he stated as he hurried quick footed to keep pace with his brother, "...need to give her a good smack up side her head."

Chazz and Connar walked together side by side down the hall to head back toward their dorm. The Ojama brothers haven't stopped dancing around his head eversince they won their match, and he was starting to gte fed up.
"Auuuugh Dammit I get the feeling my Dorm Room is gonna be Spirit Party central!" he groaned as the pink haired girl giggled next to him.
"Aww...don't be that way...let them be happy." she blinked, "You should be happy too- They just want to be your friends."
"I don't WANT anymore friends!" he huffed, "I already have you for that." he sighed. A silence fell between them for a while as he rested his head back against his arms and glanced down at her. She seemed to be lost in her own thoughts. The way her hair moved as she walked and how her blue eyes complimented its cherry blossom essence...he could feel his cheeks glow a little. She was pretty...
And not in a "Gotta impress Daddy's Little Girl to get in good with the Kaiba group" type pretty...
She was pretty in a whole new setting...
In a way that he had never actually looked at her before.
So...Connar's adopted, huh?
He thought to himself. Yet this still didn't put him off. Rather...it made him want to learn more. And get to know her. The real her, and not the Kaiba Heiress that his brothers initally wanted him to chase for their family group benefit.
"Hey...Connar?" Chazz blinked.
"Huh?" she blinked and turned to acknowledge his call of her name, "Yes, Princeton? What is it?" she blinked, "Are...you okay?"
"Uhh Y-yeah! I just uh...I uhh..." He gulped, blushing a bit. This was a little harder than he thought it would be.
"S-Say uhm...would like to maybe...I-I don't know..." he blinked, "...get some pizza, or something?" he asked awkwardly.
"Huh?" she blushed, "G-get some Pizza? You mean Like...go out?"
"On a date, yeah." he stated.
"Wha-" she blushed, "A date!?"
"W-Well, Yeah, I-I mean..." he said blushing as he scratched his cheek and averted his gaze, "Th-That is...should you say yes, to my offer..."
In that moment she felt her heartbeat pulsate against her chest.
Chazz Princeton...was asking her on a date?
And not some fancy dinner date...but a casual Pizza date...
She felt her cheeks flush.
A...normal date...
She blinked and smiled as her cheeks grew a little bit redder.
"Princeton...I..." she blinked, "I think...I'd really like that-"
"Sorry, but no."
"Huh!?" Chazz blinked as he was startled by a sudden husky male's sharp tone and turned to see none other than the Kaiba Brother's striding down the hall toward them.
"Ahh-F-Father!" she gasped, "Uncle Mokey-"
"Sorry Princeton." said Mokuba, "But I'm afraid COnnie's gonna have to take a rain check on that date." he stated.
"I'm afraid we have more important matters to discuss at the moment." said Seto Kaiba, arms folded over his chest. Since the entire school was now aware of who he was and that Connar was his daughter, he felt no need to hide anymore and stood tall and proper in the openess of the hall way.
"...Excellent timing, as always." Connar said softly, "...There was something I needed to discuss with you as well." she stated as she shifted her gaze toward the ash haired male beside her, "Princeton...would you mind."
"O-Oh, of course!" he said bowing politely, "I'll just take my leave then..." he said, "..."We'll talk later...okay?"
"Right...she nodded and gave him a subtle smile as he hurried away to leave the Kaibas to discuss family matters.
"So...what was it that you wanted to discuss, Connar?" Seto blinked, "You may speak first."
"It's about the portion of Duel Academy I bought from you." she stated, "I want to sell it back."
"What?" Mokuba blinked, "But...you won."
"...Sell it back, hm?" Seto blinked, "And? What is your offer you want from us in order to buy it back?" he asked.
"My...price..." she blinked, "...Is nothing more than what I bought it for." she stated, "Well...that and..." She gulped as she began to fidget nervously, getting rosy cheeked as she prepared to speak her next statement, "I also wish...to stay with you..."
Seto blinked. His arms folded firmly over his chest as he stared her down before closing his eyes and giving a light chuckle, "You do know the proper tactic in bussiness exchange is to turn a profit, Connar." Seto stated, "What profit are you gaining by selling back what you bought for the same price you bought it for?"
"...To have you as my family..." she said softly, "...That is my profit."
"Aww..." Mokuba blushed chuckling. But Seto remained silent for a while , which made Mokuba nervous, before his older brother gave her his final answer.
"...Sold." he said firmly, "Come with me and we will discuss and draw up the new contract." he stated.
"Good!" Mokuba sighed in relief, glancing upon his niece with a tender smile before holding out his arms to her, "...Welcome home, Connie~" she let out a shaky breath and smiled embracing her uncle who held her tight, "However...before we go..." he pulled away slowly and held her shoulders, giving her a smile that symbolized trouble before suddely giving her a side smack in the head.
"OW!" she cried out as she cupped both hands to her now throbbing head ache.
"Dumb Ass! " he huffed before turning on his heels and storming down the hall in frustration, "...Talkin' bout giving up your family name as if we don't want you...stupid idea..." he muttered.
"Huh!? Dumb ass!? Me!?" she blinked.
"I'm your uncle I have that right!" he huffed.
"Daddy!"
"Hm?" Seto responded with a narrow-eyed glance over his crossed arms while his daughter now tryied to rub away the pain from, her aching chranium.
"Uncle Mokey hit me!" she stated, "And he called me a Dumb Ass!"
"...And?" Seto blinked, " I agree with him." he stated, "It was a dumb ass deal you made." he scoffed, "Now hurry up so we can fix that mess you made...NOW." he said gruffly as he treaded with heavy steps down the hall after Mokuba.
"...I am so confused right now..." she groaned as she shuffled over her feet to hurry behind her father.

"HaHaHaHa~ No waaay!" Chazz laughed as Connar explained the situation when he had met up with her later to see how the meeting with her family went, "They called you a Dumb Ass!? BOTH of them!?" he snorted, "I mean...I can't say I disagree..." he stated, "After all, it really was a bone head deal to risk your livelihood like that." he stated, "But just knowing that your father called you a literal dumb ass...he sure doesn't go easy on you, does he!?"
"Seto Kaiba knows no mercy..." Connar muttered, which only made Chazz laugh harder.
"Well...it's over now." Chazz chuckled, " Besides...even if we did lose...I still don't think your father would have gotten rid of you." he blinked, "After all...being adopted...that means he wanted you by choice." he said, "If he didn't...and could really drop you so easily...he would have done so a long time ago."
"Geeee thanks~" Connar huffed and rolled her eyes, "...Though..." she blushed, "...My uncle pretty much said the same thing." she giggled. The two of them sat at the edge of the pier, watching the sun set over the sea, relieved of the weight of the pressure that hung over their school...satisfied and fulfilled. They sat in comfortable silence, sharing a smile.
"You know, Connie..." Chazz blinked, "You never did answer me about that Pizza date..."
Connar blushed. After having to deal with an ear ful from her family about her idiocy...she had completely forgotten that Chazz had asked her out on a date earlier that day. She darted her head toward him to be met by his side ways glance and a smirky smile, a moment soon to be interrupted by an unwanted presence...
