I think they would have more beef with Harriet rather than the entire team. Given how Vine, Marrow, and Elm try to stop her, the 501st would look kindly on them. But Harriet might be a different story. Maybe she will serve time once the battle is over.
Yes, I did hear about Durge. I don't read the Aphra comics, but I know who she is. I look forward to seeing him and I praise whoever is writing the story for bringing back Durge.
Overall, I liked Volume 8. I know a lot of people may not like it and may not like the show, but I really like RWBY. It's the source of my writing and without it, I probably wouldn't have written anything at all. As for changing things, I would probably expand on Ruby fighting with Yang. I feel like it would have been good for both Ruby and Yang to call each other out on their decisions, but make up later. Also, I would have Salem tempt Ironwood to join her. She says she can save Atlas from falling using Magic and will only do so if Ironwood joins her. He considers it, but refuses.
