Emily leaned against the wall when Heather walked up to her.
"Well, it's probably going to be Luz's last game." Heather said.
"Yeah." Emily said, a little sad.
"What's wrong?"
"This was the first time I saw her in six years. I'm afraid it'll be the last time I see her."
"Hey, as long as there's a portal, you'll see her again." Heather said, "So, what was her castle like?"
"Oh, it was amazing. Watching the sun rise from the roof, running through the corridors, and the food... oh, it was amazing. You have not lived until you try my aunts Fried Spider Eyes."
"That sounds... disgusting." Heather said.
"Our diets are different. Witches naturally crave things like Spider Eyes, Snake Heart, and things like that. Vampires naturally crave blood and blood substitutes."
"Blood Substitutes? What are those?"
"They're items that keep vampires' hunger down. I've tried a few, they aren't bad."
"You've tried-"
"Witches can also drink blood. We've just evolved past the need for it. Think of it like with Humans and alcohol. They don't need it to survive, but they like to drink it."
"Okay, I think I get it. Anything else I should know?"
"Never drink Griffin blood. It's highly toxic to Vampires."
The local Demon walked up to the Witch and Vampire.
"Hi, Tracey." Emily said.
"Hi, have you seen Luz?" Tracey asked.
"No, why?" Heather asked.
"I... need to talk to her."
Jackie ran up to them, with clear panic on her face.
"Have you guys seen Luz?!" Jackie said.
"No." Tracey said.
"The game starts in an hour and she's nowhere to be found!" Jackie said, "She's our star player!"
Emily placed hands on her shoulders.
"Jackie, relax. We'll keep an eye out for Luz. Okay?"
"Y-yeah, okay. Let me know when she gets here."
Jackie walked into the locker room and the trio look at each other.
"Last time I saw her, she was heading to my house. Let's check there."
Emily looked around and made sure no one could see them. She made a spell circle and the three of them disappeared. They reappeared at Emily's house and saw Carmelo holding an ice pack on her arm.
"Dad!"
Emily ran over to him and hugged him.
"What happened to you?" Emily asked.
"I don't really know, it happened so fast." Carmelo said.
"I think I can explain." A new voice said.
Emily gasped and ran at the new person.
"Uncle Alex!" Emily hugged him, "I haven't seen you in years!"
"Ah, Emelina. You've grown so much since I last saw you." Alexander said, "And who are these two?"
Emily rubbed the back of her neck.
"They're my friends. They... might know I'm a witch."
Alexander looked over towards the demon and vampire.
"So, you know about my niece's little secret? I fully expect you to keep this a secret... or else."
Tracey paled. Heather... already had pale skin, vampire genetics, she can't tan anymore.
"Uncle, it's fine. They have parents from the Boiling Isles."
Alex looked at Emily.
"We'll discuss this later. Right now, Luz is in danger."
Luz woke up in a cage with her wrist have weird handcuffs on them.
"I see you're awake. Now the fun can begin." Nathaniel said.
"What are you doing here?" Luz growled.
"I'm here to hurt you. With there being a sport going on at your pathetic human school, that will be the perfect place to reveal your biggest secret." He pulled out something, "And to give you a certain... enhancement."
Luz looked at the paper. A curse... the same curse Eda had.
"You know, I never use the same curse twice. I've been modifying this curse for months. There is no way to cure this... or turn someone back. Think about it, you'll go from a Princess to an Owlbeast. Stuck in that form until you inevitably die from old age, or are killed by demon hunters. But, let's wait until the game starts for the fun to begin."
He got up and walk to the door.
"And before you attempt to get out. Those cuffs block your magic. Good luck."
