Chapter 71: Battle For Chaotic Part 6

The humans and four creatures observed the final defense of the portal.

The portal's final defense was impressive, showing rather clearly how extremely powerful it was. It looked human, but still different enough to make them feel a little uneasy.

To Reggie, it looked more like a transformer than anything else. He wondered if it could transform into something else. He wasn't sure what though.

"Greetings." The machine said as it gazed down at them, "Do not worry. You are not a threat."

The humans wondered why he didn't say that he wasn't a threat.

"That's way more science-fiction than before," Lulu said, gulping loudly.

"If you are here, then I believe that soon, I'll have to fight them," the machine said, leaving the group wondering how it knew what was going on.

"Yes," Chaor whispered. He remembered when the giant robot Ulmar had made had endangered the Underworld. The one in front of him looked a little like one of those. Except it's intelligence might be higher and more in control. Not only that, it seemed like there was something else hidden inside it. He knew instantly it was more powerful than those.

"Why are you the last line of defense?" Theb-Saar asked.

"Because my body is a little too massive to be outside. I risk hurting people," he replied. He showed his hand, turning it into a large cannon for a few seconds before turning it back into a hand, "However, with as many M'arrillians as there are, I might not be able to stop all of them."

"Hmm," Odu-Bathax chuckled. He put his hands on his side, "We'll stop them. We won't let their tribe reach the Cothica."

Maxxor nodded. He knew that if the M'arrillians reached the Cothica, then it might be over. Unless they chased after them there. Still, it would damage the Cothica and they might still lose them. There were so many but he pushed that thought aside. It wouldn't happen.

The humans wondered if it was working on its own or not. Six of them knew the Codemasters were extremely powerful IA who made sure to watch everything related to creatures. Maybe the robot was a Codemaster, or mixture of them, who controlled it.

Kaz sighed, "I wonder if everything will be okay." He crossed his arms and thought a little about it. He then let out a small sigh once again.

"I'm sure they've got it under control," Peyton declared, smiling a little.

"With my mount, I'm sure they had a chance to push them back," Theb-Saar replied, reassuring them.

Alexandre thought about it, "And I wonder when the M'arrillian rebels will show up? I'm sure they noticed that many of their tribe have left the Deep Ocean. If they come out by the portal… they might surround the M'arrillians. But I don't know though."

The others looked at him.

"I hope everyone managed to get out of here," Lulu said

"We might be the last players here," Tom guessed.

Cassandra crossed her arms, "I just couldn't let my son on his own," she said lightly, a slightly apologetic tone underlying her words.

"We can only wait for now and see how it turns out," Theb-Saar commented.

The Codemasters watched as the tide of the battle turned. The third battlefield was at Crellan's Drome. As expected, the M'arrillians wouldn't follow the creatures inside. It didn't matter though; the plan was to let the creatures recuperate a little while the battle machines continued attacking the M'arrillians. They had lost a few of their machines over the course of the battle, but not as many as they expected at that point. So far, they had only 20%; good news, all things considered.

Still, Imthor couldn't feel as optimistic as Hotekk about their predicament. He was still uneasy. Milla'iin's face wasn't one of a creature who panicked. Despite his face consisting of only an eye, there was something shining in it. As if there was something the creature was waiting for in anticipation.

Crellan gazed at it, "I don't like that little light in Milla'iin's eyeball. I feel like he planned something that we didn't predict."

Hotekk sighed, "At least the evacuation is over. Keep an eye on the M'arrillians. If they are about to do something, we have to see it when they begin, and not later."

"I'll keep that in mind," Imthor replied as he focused his attention on the creatures. He checked the other security cameras, but they showed nothing. There were no creatures around and they couldn't see the dragon. He activated the heat vision feature and saw that the dragon was there, resting at his Battle Drome. The dragon was obviously not asleep, but just recuperating. It had breathed a lot of fire and it seemed that doing so had exhausted it.

Looking away they continued monitoring the battle. The creatures came out of the Drome and joined the offensive. The Mipedians appeared on one side while the three other tribes covered the other side. All of them attacked their opponents fiercely and without reserve.

Crellan noticed something as the battle continued, "Careful!" He shouted, pointing at Milla'iin and a group of M'arrillians who joined Aval'par as he returned to them. Those creatures left the battlefield. The Codemaster counted thirty of them that had split from the rest of the group.

"I don't like this," Hotekk commented before putting his focus on the battle at hand.

Imthor wondered what was playing out in the mind of those creatures. He didn't like it. He noticed that they weren't searching to get the creatures by surprise. They were all looking at the ground, "What are they searching for?" he muttered quietly. He gazed at them.

Codemaster Crellan also checked on them and realized something, "They are searching the underground tunnels!"

"W-what?" Imthor yelled before the others joined in. He quickly watched where they were going. He noticed they were near where Chaor had fallen, "The hole. He found it and they are going to investigate it! Can you move a few of the battle machines to stop them?"

"I can't," Hotekk said, cursing at himself.

"I'll alert them right now," Crellan said as he communicated with Tom.

Tom picked up his scanner as it began to ring, "Codemaster Crellan? What is it?"

"We have noticed the M'arrillians have split into two groups. One is fighting the other tribes while the others are searching for a way to reach the underground of Chaotic. At this point they will eventually find you. You will have to be ready for them."

Chaor chuckled loudly, "There is no need to worry about that. We'll crush them all!"

"There are around thirty to forty of them," the Codemaster replied in a serious tone.

Maxxor gazed at the Underworlder, "That is too many for us to handle together. We are just four and-"

"Do not forget about me," the machine said. He showed his entire arsenal inside of him.

Everyone was speechless as they saw the entirety of the robot's weaponry.

"You didn't have to show everything," the Codemaster sighed.

Theb-Saar took a small crown from his armor and gave it to Peyton, "Take this. The M'arrillians won't be able to control your mind."

The other creatures did the same and offered them to their chosen human. They also had a few extras they proceeded to give to the others.

"You were ready for this weren't you?" Peyton questioned as he slipped the crown on.

"With you around, I expected something like that," Theb-Saar commented.

"Yeah…we often end up in trouble," Tom sighed nervously as he thought about how much trouble they ended up in their life. They gazed at the creatures and his friends.

"Not me. This is the first time I've been in a big mess and it has to be the biggest of them all," Lulu joked.

The others chuckled.

Alexandre gazed at the creatures, "It's good to expect the worst."

"What should we do when they get here? We can't fight against the creatures like you can." Cassandra asked.

Odu-Bathax grumbled, "This is the worst. Protecting someone other than the queen is always problematic."

Chaor grumbled as he saw no place where the humans could take cover, "What about using the portal?"

"Bad idea. They are code and cannot use it. If they were in flesh and blood, they would be able to go in without any problem," the Codemaster said, destroying that idea.

"Yeah, we're not really here," Alexandre told the creatures, "This portal is used for real bodies. I don't want to see myself on the other side of the portal. That is going to be a nightmare."

Sarah groaned quietly, "Of course we couldn't. It would be too easy."

"We might be able to work this out. We finished evacuating everyone and we can use the portal to port out. We will bring the necessary materials through a few secret passages on our own. There are other ways to reach the portal room, but it is only for the Codemasters. One of them will bring it to you," Crellan ended the communication.

Lulu sighed, "I hoped it'll get here in time."

"Knowing our luck. Probably not," Kaz replied sullenly.

"We have bad muncho on us, but we always come through. So… we might be extremely lucky," Peyton said, raising his shoulders a little uncertainly.

Thinking back, they were often both lucky and unlucky. It was difficult to know which one they were though. When Sarah thought back, she had to agree that they had either terrible luck, or really good luck. She decided to say nothing about it.

Chaor, Maxxor, and Odu-Bathax had a small smirk as they thought about the humans and their adventures. They had to agree about their luck. Theb-Saar was the only one who hadn't witnessed any of that. He had just heard about those exploits from the soldiers under his command and the messages he had received during his self-imposed exile.

The creatures split up and searched for a good spot for the humans to take cover in. The humans did the same.

Cassandra wondered, "Where could we hide and not cause trouble for them?"

The robot pointed at a corner, "Better be at the corner near the portal."

They looked at it and agreed. They would be far away from the M'arrillians when they came in here and wouldn't be attacked from behind.

"Let's go," Alexandre told the other humans. The group walked together towards the corner, preparing themselves for the M'arrillians arrival.

The creatures went together. They talked together for a battleplan. They had to be ready for the many M'arrillians coming towards them. A great battle was upon them and needed everything to win.

The Codemasters kept the situation under watch. They noticed that the battle wasn't going as well as they wished. Still, they knew that victory might come to them eventually if they made no mistakes.

The M'arrillians were numerous, but were exhausted by the machines that constantly attacked them, preventing them from taking a moment to recover.

As for the alliance, they had managed to take a small breath and were ready to keep fighting.

"Everything is going well with them," Hotekk commented, checking if anything might go wrong.

"Don't drop your guard. Some M'arrillians already split and more might try the same if they encounter resistance and see the portal," Imthor warned him.

"I know," Hotekk grumbled as he worked.

Crellan gazed at the humans and creatures near the portal, "They are getting ready to greet the M'arrillians."

"We need to be ready to deal with them as well," Imthor replied as he checked for the M'arrillians on his computers. He saw Milla'iin entering in the underground of Chaotic, others closely following him. The last one he saw entering was Aval'par.

"We can only pray to God that everything will be fine," Crellan commented.

Imthor nodded, "And the creatures need to pray for the Cothica."

"We all feel that way," Hotekk said, rolling his eyes before focusing on his job again.

Crellan sighed, "Yeah."

AC: This is the end of this part.
