Questions And Answers
As Rafael and Lisa headed down the road that led to the Moondance camp, Rafael was thinking that Lisa was being unusually quiet, when suddenly he was smacked in the back of his helmet with a sneaker, he turned and looked at her.
Lisa gave Rafael an annoyed look as she pulled her shoe back on and jabbed a finger at the earpiece in her helmet.
Rafael turned red as he sheepishly realized that Lisa had been talking to him, he simply forgot to turn on his helmet's headset, he reached up and turned it on.
"That's better." Lisa said to Rafael.
"Sorry about that, what were you saying?" Rafael asked Lisa.
"I was saying that we need to ask the acrobats if any of them are missing boots." Lisa replied to Rafael.
"Right, and if they've seen anyone they don't know hanging around the big top between shows." Rafael added.
"Yeah, and we should also ask if anyone has tried to buy a pair of those boots off of them!" Lisa exclaimed.
When Lisa and Rafael walked into the big top a little while later, all the acrobats were hard at work rehearsing their acts.
Rafael put two fingers in his mouth and gave a loud sharp whistle, "Everybody bring it in!" he called.
The acrobats stopped what they were doing and gathered around.
"That's much better." Lisa sighed.
"All right," Rafael said. "Lisa here has some questions she needs to ask, so please cooperate.""
Rafael motioned for Lisa to go ahead.
Lisa stepped forward.
"I believe that someone is trying to frame this clan for the recent theft of Snowy Pine from the WRI because the thief was wearing what appears to be acrobatic boots when he committed the crime, now, is anyone missing a pair of boots?" Lisa asked.
There was a chorus of no answers and head shakes, and there was one tall man in the back that didn't answer at all.
Rafael noticed this too and his face darkened.
"I doubt this is working." Rafael sighed.
Lisa continued with her second question.
"Has anyone tried to by a pair of boots off of any of you?" Lisa continued.
Once again the same thing, everybody answered no except the guy in the back who didn't give any answer at all.
Rafael was getting irritated but he remained calm for Lisa's sake.
"Continue on, Lisa." Rafael urged.
"Have any of you noticed anyone you don't know hanging around the big top between shows?" Lisa said, asking her third and final question.
The acrobats all thought carefully, the tall guy just gave an annoyed snort.
Rafael strode over to him and got in his face.
"Torino," Rafael growled. "drop the attitude and answer the questions!"
Torino looked down at his feet.
Now, it was Lisa who was getting fed up, "Look Rafael in the eye when he is speaking to you!" she said to Torino angrily.
Torino looked Lisa square in the eye before speaking to her.
