Chapter 73: Battle For Chaotic Part 8

Gal'drad was somewhat nervous about fighting members of his own tribe. He knew they were the enemy and that they were ready to invade the Cothica, but something in the corner of his mind was there. The thought of fighting some of his friends like Aval'par and the others. He knew everything would turn ugly soon, but he had to cast those thoughts aside. He couldn't afford to hesitate. He knew that day would come. His convictions to protect the Cothica from the sins of his ancestors and the others of his tribe couldn't waver. He had to keep going. He had to make a stand. He had to fight. He couldn't give up. He couldn't let the M'arrillians be victorious.

(We will keep the Cothica and their lord safe.) one of the rebels told him.

The Chieftain nodded as he refocused on his mission. It had to be this way. He couldn't hold back. He saw the door leading to their destination.

"The enemies are at the other side of that door. Once you are there, do not hesitate to attack. The creatures in front of you will be M'arrillians. Be careful, they might try to escape using another route," Codemaster Imthor told them.

Gal'drad nodded. He couldn't talk through their minds from where he was.

The door opened. The moment they were out, they saw the battlefield. Milla'iin's army hadn't noticed them, too busy pushing the alliance and destroying the battlegear fighting with them.

The creatures launched their best water attacks together and struck the enemies from behind. Meanwhile Imthor warned the alliance, "The M'arrillian rebels are here to help you stop Milla'iin's army."

Mudeenu heard that and ordered his soldiers to focus on those in front of them.

Milla'iin's army soon realized that they were caught in a pincer and tried to warn their leader about it. They soon received n order.

(They are already here…come here right now! We have found the portal. There is no point in fighting them. We will come back once we get everything from the Cothica.) Milla'iin replied quickly before letting out a painful grunt.

After a minute of battle, the M'arrillians immediately began to retreat from the battlefield.

Mudeenu yelled, "After them! Don't let them escape!"

The creatures began to chase the enemies. It felt strange to have Gal'drad and his soldiers fight by his side. They had never once thought they would fight by the side of the M'arrillians. Still, they were aware of the alliance and the soldiers had prepared mentally for such a possibility.

None of them thought it would come true.

(We will explain everything after we stop Milla'iin.) Gal'drad told them through their mind.

The creatures in command nodded.

Chaor threw fireballs at Aval'par.

The purple creature dodged them and countered with a water attack, missing the Underworlder. The two glared at each other as their attacks and counter-attacks failed as the other creatures stood in their way, taking the hit or unfocusing them.

Chaor wanted to crush that blob creature for putting his Kazzy in danger. He not only wanted that; he would actually do it.

Meanwhile, Milla'iin dodged wind attacks from Theb-Saar. He put his focus aside from the battle for a few seconds when he received the report. (They are already here… Come here right now! We found the portal. No point in fighting them. We will come back once we get everything from the Cothica.) He sent them a mental map of the path they took to reach the portal.

(Right!) they replied.

As he received the reply Milla'iin was hit by a Rock Wave. He nearly fell to the ground, but righted himself and quickly flew up into the air to avoid another attack. He then used Frost Blight, but missed Theb-Saar.

Unfortunately, Theb-Saar fell to the ground as he was hit by a water attack. He glared at him and prepared for the next attack as a few explosions sounded from the other side of the room when the robot fired his missiles at the other M'arrillians.

(Soon, your tribes will fall one by one! There won't be another miracle to save you all!)

"They didn't need a miracle to stop you. If they got one, I would have come back with my surprise and suddenly crushed all of you," Theb Saar said, smirking back at the M'arrillians, "You are the one hoping for a miracle. You want to reach the Cothica, but it won't happen."

Milla'iin chuckled. (This isn't a miracle. It is a well-prepared plan. Where we would avoid the troublesome rebels, who betrayed Aa'une's desire to conquer all of Perim!)

"Be a fool if you wish," Theb-Saar said as prepared to strike, "because none of them will come true! WindSlash!" With a quick thrust he sent his attack towards his enemy, hitting him.

The M'arrillian fell to the ground, but managed to roll to the side to avoid the next attack.

The humans remained in the background and watched the battle unfolding. They saw that Maxxor and Odu-Bathax were struggling against so many M'arrillians. All they could do was stay on the move and attack one of them when they got the chance.

The robot was the one that kept everything from going wrong. It was busy holding invaders at bay with its heavy weaponry, but it was also obvious that some of its weapons weren't being used right now.

"D-damn. I never thought we would have such a fight in Chaotic," Kaz commented as he crouched close to the ground.

"It's been going on for a while and it's only now that you choose to say something about it!" Sarah said crossly, feeling the pressure and stakes of the fight weighing heavily on her.

Tom gulped. Something told him that it wouldn't get better. His scanner rang, distracting him from the battle. Scrambling, he answered it, "Cre- Imthor?" Tom asked, surprised.

"Crellan is busy for now. He is bringing everything so you can port out. As luck would have it, he was the unlucky one who got to transport the heavy stuff. Anyway, be careful. The M'arrillians just broke away from the main fight and are coming down there right now. The alliance and the M'arrillian rebels are after them."

"M'arrillian rebels?" Reggie asked, bewildered.

"Yes. There are some creatures who have chosen to follow the Messenger of the Cothica." Imthor gazed at Alexandre as he said that.

Alexandre sighed, "Not my fault I'm called that. The creatures did so and they never stopped."

Lulu clasped her hands together and leaned closer to Peyton. They couldn't do anything. They were just in the way. She hoped they would be able to port out soon.

Crellan pushed past his exhaustion away as they approached the room leading to the portal. He steadfastly ignored everything he was feeling right now, "This is not a real body," he told himself.

He had made his body a little too close to how a human worked and he was regretting it now. Still, he pushed that aside, "H-how long?"

Tirasis gazed at him. He didn't feel like humoring the other Codemaster anymore, "Not too long now. It's getting really dangerous down there and more M'arrillians are coming."

"Don't need to remind me of that. We can't let them get coded."

"We can give them new codes…and I'm sure Imthor already prepared something if they do get coded. They were the last ones to leave Chaotic," Tirasis said.

"Yeah. We're going to get them out of here," Crellan reassured himself as he accelerated his pace. He did everything he could to ignore the weight of the machine.

Crellan really hoped that they were faster than the creatures.

"Hurry up. We don't have much time. I think they are ready to try and take hostages soon," Imthor told them.

"They would obviously plan something like that. Nothing surprising," Tirasis grumbled. He checked their current location, "We aren't there yet, but we are near the room. Crellan, we need to prepare the portal right now!"

The other Codemaster put everything on the ground, "Good. Let's do this."

The two began to prepare the two devices so the humans could port out. They also needed to connect it to the portal, so their code could return to their users.

"We don't have much time," Crellan said.

Tirasis nodded and added, "Sorry for making you the butt of the joke, but it's really too much."

"Yeah. We weren't ready for this. Imthor is tough," Crellan admitted. He went on as he connected a few wires.

"He has too. He is the first one father made."

"We better hurry up. They don't have much time."

"Right… Crellan. Do you have an idea about what would happen to us when all of this is over?"

"Hum…never thought about it." Crellan admitted as he worked.

"Me neither. I thought we would have a few centuries to think about it." Tirasis replied, connecting wires while doing so.

"I was curious and distracted by a few things. All I know is that we must focus on this right now." Crellan said.

"Fine. Later." Tirasis connected a few wires and brought a few to link them to the portal.

Near the portal, the battle became more intense as more time passed, the tide turning against the three rulers and the Danian. They knew the M'arrillian army was coming and that if they made it here that it was all over for them.

Maxxor dodged as a few attacks came towards him. He wished he had brought his armor to deal with them, but that would have sent the alert. "Iron Balls!" He shouted, hitting one of the M'arrillians coming towards him in the face. It wasn't long before he had been knocked out. He let out a grunt of pain as another one tackled him. Reacting quickly, he blocked the pincer coming for his throat. Grunting with effort he lifted the pincer away from him. He then pushed the M'arrillian away, but saw another one getting ready to attack him.

Odu-Bathax came and tackled the creature before he could attack Maxxor. He then followed up with a powerful Earth attack and sent spikes at them, "Rock Wave!" Odu-Bathax shouted as he punched the ground, raising a wall to block a few attacks coming at him and the Overworlder.

The robot blocked the attacks coming at him. Fortunately, they only caused a few dents on its armor. It then countered with a few missiles and machine guns. The shots hit and one of the invaders dropped dead. It then punched the next one coming at him, likely breaking a few bones.

Theb-Saar avoided a few ice attacks from Milla'iin. He then countered with a Tornado Tackle, but the M'arrillian flew above it and countered with Power Pulse. It struck Theb-Saar right in the chest, causing him to falter before jumping back on his feet. Grunting from exertion. Theb-Saar sent another blast of wind, pushing Milla'iin back.

Chaor continued his battle with Aval'par. Chaor punched the purple creature away and sent him against a wall, panting loudly as he did so. He was tired of handling all of this. Chaor knew he had to finish him quickly and deal with the others soon. Narrowing his eyes Chaor charged the fire in his hands and prepared to finish him off.

Milla'iin pushed Theb-Saar away and charged at the Underworlder. With a vicious water attack, he sent Chaor away.

Chaor rolled onto the ground and painfully growled. He put his hand on his forehead. The fight was getting out of hand. If it kept going this way they would soon lose.

The leader of the M'arrillians raised his tendrils and focused his power to create ice shards, sending them towards the ruler of the Underworld. (Die Chaor!)

The ice shards headed towards the Underworlder, about to strike his chest and pierce his heart.

Chaor opened his eyes and saw the shards coming towards him. He was too injured to move and avoid them in time. He knew it was over. He glared at the Milla'iin, silently cursing him.

"Chaor!" someone yelled.

Chaor blinked, then went into shock when he heard a cry of agony. His body was shaking slightly as recognized the voice.

(Curse you!)

Chaor didn't hear anything else. His shock was slowly slipping into anger. He closed his hands, "K-Kazzy."

Kaz lay in front of his hero. His body was spasming from the ice shards. Most of them were on his chest. None caused an immediate death. Still, it was obvious the wounds were fatal. He slowly turned towards Chaor, "S-sorry."

Every human yelled his name.
