He's standing at the lockers with Jackson and a few of the cheerleaders, Nina, Jess and Ivy.
Before it would have made me jealous, seeing the way they look at him and talk to him, but now I just feel lucky.
Lucky that he's mine.
I approach him slowly. He doesn't notice me at first, too engrossed in Jackson, who's relaying something with lots of hand gestures.
Jackson stops abruptly when I get close and Edward turns to me, his green eyes curious and full of surprise.
'Hi.' I say softly.
A breath-taking smile crosses Edward's face, one that makes my heart so full it almost burst out of my chest.
'Hi,' his voice is deep and soft and smooth like honey, and I've missed it so much.
Missed him so much.
I'm grinning like an idiot as I continue down the corridor and I hear his delighted laughter from behind me, the sound imprinting into my soul and filling me with pure unadulterated joy.
