This story was requested by Minerpore on Wattpad. This may be a bit late compared to other uploads, but I put a fair amount of effort into this. I will say, there is a possibility of me creating a sequel or a prequel for this oneshot in the future. It's not planned, but if I feel like it, or if people want it, then I'll do it. I hope you enjoy this fun Pokemon story.

Lucas and his three closest friends, with one of them being his very own twin brother, made it to the final branch of their Pokemon journey. The Pokemon League Championship. A tournament that determines who is worthy of fighting the one and only champion of the Ultima region; Red. Red was undefeated. He was constantly challenged by many upon many challengers, some of them being the very gym leaders of the league; Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Yoshi, Kirby, Fox, and strangely enough Pikachu.

The boys beat all of those leaders, beat an evil organization called "Team Subspace" that wanted to force the world into a state of emptiness and despair...otherwise known as Subspace. Now they were here...the championship. All they needed to do was battle to see who was truly worthy.

"Well...here it is..." Lucas started. The others were still staring at the large stadium in utter disbelief that there were even there, more or less about to challenge it. Lucas's trusty partner Pokemon, Riolu, stood on his shoulder. He too was looking at the stadium in amazement. Riolu never liked Pokeballs. He thought them to be too cramped and made the excuse that his power was too big to be contained into a little Pokeball...in all honesty, he just liked how Lucas treated him as a partner rather than how an owner would treat a pet.

"So...bets on which of us will get to Red?" Ninten questioned. He was always one to place pointless and no consequence bets like this. He knew the answer most of them would give. The person that'd make it to Red would be themselves, of course. Most of them thought they were the strongest trainer. Not to the level of being narcissistic, but enough to have confidence in their ability.

Lucas looked at his trusty Riolu. "You ready pal?" Riolu nodded sporadically. He was very hyped. Riolu loved battles. Before Lucas obtained him, Riolu was known to be one for starting fights just to have that thrill of battle. He'd often fight bigger opponents, losing most likely, but that wasn't why he fought. Now, he was about to fight the strongest of them all.

"Well, we should probably get in before they decide to start without us," Claus suggested. The others agreed to this without much hesitation. They walked toward the stadium's multiple doors up a pretty extravagant staircase. Inside they're met with a large crowd and the circular desk thing that acted as a sign-up post. Above the counter, connected to the ceiling, were TVs that had recordings from the boys' gym battles, since they were the only gym challengers to have made it this far. The actual championship would be smaller than usual...due to the lack of many gym challengers.

The boys walked up to a nice-looking lady named Daisy, who was behind the counter. She smiled a pleasant smile. "Welcome to New Donk City Stadium. You're the famed challengers who took down Team Subspace?"

"You bet," Ninten proudly took in stride. He was very much proud of their accomplishment. He wouldn't often showboat, but he did like to take credit for it.

"We are forever in your debt."

"No no...it should be fine," Ness pleaded. Daisy nodded.

"Anyway. I'm sure you're here to take part in the championship, yes?"

"Correct."

"Alright. You'll just need to sign yourselves in. Make sure you sign in your Pokemon as well. You chose up to six to take in, and you can not change in or out a 'mon until you win or get out of the championship. Understand?" The boys nodded. Daisy motioned for them to enter a special room for them to change into their challenger outfit and to register themselves and their Pokemon. Lucas's team for the championship was: Riolu, Lycanroc (Dusk), Sunflora, Infernape, Blastoise, and Rotom. Ness's team was: Cinderace, Muk, Mienshao, Musharna, Electabuzz, and Oricorio (Sensu). Claus's team was: Type: Null, Galarian Slowbro, Tyrantrum, Porygon Z, Girafarig, and Skarmory. And finally, Ninten's team was: Weezing, Machoke, Metagross, Zoroark, Rapidash, and Sirfetch'd.

The boys left the room with their challenger outfits and their numbers on the back. Lucas's being 420, Ness's being 827, Ninten's being 727, and Claus's being 915. They were issued to walk into the waiting room. However, while they were walking to the door that led to the hallway to the waiting room, Red walked up to them. "You guys made it," he said cheerfully and a hint of thankfulness. "I thought this was going to be another year where we get no new gym challengers."

"You haven't seen any like us," Ninten smiled.

"Well, to be fair, I doubt many have taken down an organization bent on destroying everything and everyone we love just for the small chance of meeting someone they lost," Claus pessimistically said.

"That's...a grim way to put it, but yes, I guess you can say that," Red pointed out.

"Say goodbye to your champion title, Red. I'm coming for it," Ness smirked a cunning smirk.

"Not if I get to it first," Lucas challenged him. The two of them then stared at each other with intense, battle-ready faces as they growled.

"Hehe, I look forward to seeing one of you challenge me. Now, mind you, just because you saved all of us, does not mean I will take it easy on you."

"We wouldn't want it any other way," Ninten said just as Lucas playfully slapped Ness.

"Oh, you little-"

"BYE RED!" Lucas yelled right before running out the room and down the hall. Ness dropped his bookbag and cracked his neck.

"If you hear screams...don't worry about it," Ness said ominously. Red was confused, to say the least. He knew he didn't know the boys all that much, but he never expected them to act so...fiercely toward each other. "LUCAS GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!" Ness yelled at the top of his lungs as he ran down the hall fast.

"Uhm...is this-?" Red questioned.

"Usual? Yes..." Claus answered.

"Uhm...r-right. Well, I look forward to seeing you battle. So long," Red waved off to go deal with the press.

"Should we follow them?" Ninten asked.

"Nah, let's let them have their time."

Lucas was running more and more. He looked back and saw that Ness was catching up on him, and fast. He knew at this rate, he wouldn't be able to outrun him. He continued running for a bit more, just to ensure that Ness did indeed catch up on him. That was when Lucas abruptly stopped, forcing Ness to crash right into him and both of them falling to the ground. With a loud groan, Ness sat up and rubbed his head. "Lucas...the hell?" Lucas was able to shuffle and lay on his back rather than on his belly. Lucas smirked.

"Look where you're sitting." Ness looked down and saw he was directly on Lucas's crotch.

"WAAAH!" Ness jumped off with a blush. "Y-you damn schemer!" Lucas stuck his tongue out and looked around. He saw Riolu sitting against the wall, having known that Lucas had something planned and that if he stuck around he'd get harmed.

"There you are..." Lucas picked Riolu up and placed him back on his shoulder. Ness scoffed as he crossed his arms. Lucas knew what this meant. He walked up to Ness and kissed his cheek. "There, you happy?" Ness smiled as he nodded his head. "Big baby..." Riolu then patted Ness's head. That was his way of showing affection, pets on the head since he wasn't about to kiss humans.

"You ready for this, Lucas?"

"Hopefully."

"What's the matter?"

"Unlike you guys...I can't activate these things..." Lucas looked down at his forearm, which was where his Poketch was. This was a special Poketch, however. While it did have the apps a normal Poketch did, this one had specially designed apps. These apps allowed trainers to activate certain things within their Pokemon. Some Mega Evolution, some Z-Moves, and some Gigantamaxing. Most trainers could activate the Dynamax function on their Poketch, which was also in the same application as the Gigantamx feature, but Lucas couldn't. Not once was Lucas able to Mega Evolve, activate a Z-Move, or even so much as Dynamax a Pokemon. All the Poketch has been doing for him was showcasing the map or counting his steps.

"Hey...come on, I'm sure you'll get to do it in the championship fights."

"You don't understand Ness...everyone who's in the championship can do this...I can't. I'm at such a disadvantage...I-I may as well not partake."

"Now...don't be like that. You're still a strong trainer." Lucas looked away from Ness...not wanting to see a trainer he knew was stronger than him.

"I guess we'll see..." Ness grabbed Lucas's chin and brought his face close to his own.

"We will see. You'll beat Claus...you'll be Ninten...and maybe you'll beat me as well." Lucas couldn't help but grow a smile.

"And what then?"

"Well...if you get to Red...I know damn well you'll whoop his ass forward, back, and sideways."

"You have too much confidence in me..."

"It's not that..." Ness brought his face in closer, their noses touching, "It's that you don't have enough confidence in yourself." Lucas, again, couldn't help but smile. This time, a little blush was added. "Look at you. So beautiful." Ness finally closed the gap between their lips, giving him a very passionate kiss. During the kiss, Riolu did a playful gag. After they kissed, Lucas looked at Riolu.

"Oh please, you're just jealous." Riolu crossed his arms. "Anyway, go get the other two. We'll be in the waiting room." Riolu nodded before jumping off his shoulder and running back down the hall.

"So...any confidence?" Lucas turned around and sighed.

"Whatever...let's just go." Ness smirked before stepping forward and wrapping his arms around his waist.

"Now now...we're not going until you say you think you can win and mean it." Lucas blushed more as he looked down and saw that Ness's hands were getting closer and closer to Lucas's special little friend in his shorts. He thought Ness was bluffing, but once he cupped it, he stiffened up and looked forward, almost as if he was a statue. He gulped.

"I-I...I can win."

"Nope...not can..."

"I will win!."

"Good boy." Ness kissed Lucas's neck and playfully pushed him forward. "Let's get to the waiting room already." They soon made it to the waiting room, with Riolu coming a few moments later with Ninten and Claus. The few gym leaders that were partaking were already here; Mario, Fox, Link, and Samus. The boys walked over to the digital bracket on the way, that was already updated to having them in the championship. Lucas smiled as he saw the first person he was going to challenge...Ninten. He was just happy he already knew his team.

The boys made small talk with the gym leaders since they were pretty cool. The gym leaders did try to slither their way into learning the boys' teams, which didn't work of course. Soon enough, the challengers were told to leave the waiting room to enter the stadium. When walking down the tunnel that connected the waiting room and the field was an intimidating force. The distant, somewhat muffled screams of the audience, the echoes of each challenger's heartbeat, the echoes of their shoes hitting the concrete, and the knowledge of their impending battles. Without much hesitation, they stepped out and the cheers and screams grew.

The chairman of the Pokemon League Championship, X, stood in the middle of the stadium with a microphone. "Ladies and gentleman! The challengers of this year's Pokemon League Championship Tournament are here! Gym Leader Mario of Mushroom City!" Mario stepped forward from the others and waved around happily. "Gym Leader Link of Termina Town!" Link kept a calm composure as he looked around the members of the crowd. "Gym Leader Samus of Zebes Village!" Samus proudly stood like the warrior she was, ready to defeat anyone she can. "Gym Leader Fox of Corneria Base!" Fox waved at the crowd and a sense of cockiness. "The next four are all gym challengers from Onett. Lucas! Ness! Ninten! And Claus!" The roaring of the crowd filled each boy's heart with excitement. Riolu stood upon his partner's shoulder and breathed in the competitive air.

After some other introductory things, the tournament started.

Lucas stood in the tunnel, at the edge of that and the field, waiting to be called out. Riolu stood antsy on his shoulder. Their attitudes were quite different. Riolu was determined and confident, Lucas was quite the opposite. Soon enough, the fight was announced. Lucas stepped onto the field and headed towards the middle of the field. He came face-to-face with Ninten. "Alright...I've gotta win this Lucas. I wanna impress Claus."

"Oh please, it's not like you guys haven't had sex yet."

"I...let's just fight already..." The boys walked toward the trainer areas, which were little boxes right outside the bigger boxes where the Pokemon fought. Each boy tapped into some app on their Poketch that allowed their minds to be sort of linked with other Pokemon. This allowed the Pokemon to attack without the boys needing to actually say anything. This was a new feature that the four boys actually were chosen to test run, which turned out the app was perfect. Ninten grabbed a Pokeball and Lucas did the same. Riolu jumped from Lucas's shoulder and stood next to Lucas, waiting for when he got to fight.

Ninten threw the first ball out and was Machoke. Lucas tossed out his own Pokeball that ended up being Rotom. Lucas crossed his arms and chuckled. Rotom zapped around, but despite the seemingly random zips he was heading toward Machoke. Machoke tried to go for a Knock Off when Rotom got close, but Rotom simply zapped behind Machoke. The second Rotom appeared behind Machoke, he unleashed a powerful Discharge zapping Machoke. However, Machoke was able to fight through the electricity and get out a powerful Knock Off on Rotom, knocking it out instantly. Ninten held a proud and cocky expression of course. Lucas returned Rotom.

Lucas sent out Blastoise. Without any hesitation, Blastoise shot a very powerful Hydro Pump from his cannons and it slammed directly into Machoke. This shot Machoke right into the walls of the stadium, knocking it out. Ninten growled before returning Machoke. He threw out Rapidash. Rapidash ran in and tackled Blastoise into a Foul Play. They rolled around for some time until Blastoise was able to get Rapidash off of him with a Skull Bash. Rapidash launched back and landed on his feet. This was when he transformed into Zoroark, who held a cocky grin. Zoroark rushed in, dodging and maneuvering out of the way of Blastoise's Ice Beams or Skull Bashes. Zoroark took advantage of his limberness until it unleashed Night Slash, landing a critical hit. Blastoise was still hanging on, though. And lucky for him, the slash happened on his shell, so he was quickly able to turn around and slam his head into Zoroark's, a very powerful Skull Bash indeed. This knocked out Zoroark.

Ninten was getting nervous. He returned his Zoroark and sent out Sirfetch'd. He rushed forward and, with his powerful leak lance, he unleashed a Leaf Blade. This, mixed with the previous damage he took, knocked out Blastoise. Lucas returned Blastoise and sent his Sunflora out. Ninten gave him a confused look. He never understood why he liked Sunflora as much as he did. Sunflora made the sun beat down on them harder with a Sunny Day. This sun was so strong it was hurting Sirfetch'd's eyes. This allowed Sunflora to shoot a Solar Beam. Sunflora shot it at Sirfetch'd. He was hit powerfully, but when he recovered he stood up and held up his lance. Due to the sun, he was able to use his Solar Blade. He ran toward Sunflora as Sunflora shot multiple Solar Beams, all of which Sirfetch'd was able to dodge. Sirfetch'd was able to slash at Sunflora, but she simply smiled as she called upon a Petal Blizzard. This launched Sirfetch'd into the wall, knocking it out. Sunflora was weakened though. Despite being grass as well, she was generally pretty weak, so a powerful Solar Blade still did a number of things. Lucas decided to return her. He looked down at her Pokeball. "You did well. I'm proud of ya." Both boys sent out a Pokemon.

Ninten sent out Weezing as Lucas sent out his Lycanroc, dusk form. It didn't take much longer for Lycanroc to rush toward Weezing at a surprising speed. Once he slammed into Weezing, rocks slammed into Weezing. Weezing being a tank took the hit in stride as he covered the stadium in a Smokescreen. Lycanroc jumped back and looked around. He saw nothing but the smoke of course. That was when he used Stone Edge to cause a rock to form underneath him and pick him up over the smoke. He still couldn't find Weezing. Weezing soon appeared behind Lycanroc and unleashed a Sludge Bomb. This knocked Lycanroc off the rock and he slammed into the ground. He then continually got attacked by Weezing from the smoke. The attacks weren't strong, but it was taking their toll. Soon enough, the smoke cleared and Weezing stood in front of that rock spike that Lycanroc formed. Lycanroc smirked before stomping on the ground, causing this spike to break and fall onto Weezing. While Weezing was being attacked by the rocks, Lycanroc ran forward and powerfully slammed his hardened head into him...Iron Head. This knocked out the Weezing.

The true Rapidash came out...but it was taken out with a single move, which didn't really surprise the boys. The big guns then came out. Metagross. This was Ninten's most special Pokemon. His first Pokemon was a Beldum. They were always together, now he stood here in the championship with his fully evolved Metagross, and a fire to pull out the win. Metagross slammed his feet into the ground, causing a massive earthquake, which also caused ground to spit up on Lycanroc, taking it out. Lucas was in trouble. He knew this. He had Infernape and Riolu in the back, both weak to one of Metagross's typings. He looked down at Sunflora's Pokeball. The sun had calmed down now...he had a plan. It hurt to say, but he needed to bait the Metagross just to intensify the sun some more. Lucas sent out Sunflora and immediately used Sunny Day. Not to his surprise, Metagross used Take Down on her, knocking her out. Lucas apologized before sending out Infernape. Infernape looked intensely at Metagross. Ninten smirked before tapping around his Poketch. Lucas knew what this was...Ninten was Mega Evolving Metagross. Ninten held up his hand and the Mega Evolution logo popped out of the Poketch and Metagross started to shine. "Careful Infernape...this is going to be tough!"

"INFER!" Soon enough, Metagross mega evolved. The levitating metallic monster stared down Infernape.

"Meta..." It rushed forward to try and do another Take-Down, but Infernape dodged out the way. Metagross then tried to use his Psychic to get a grip on Infernape, but he just kept running around to prevent a good aim with it. Infernape soon started spinning. He went faster and faster, getting engulfed in fire. His Flame Wheel was strong, slamming right into Metagross. Metagross was able to counter with a Meteor Mash. However, it was very weak. Infernape was able to continually slam into Metagross with Flame Wheel, being too close for a good Take Down or Earthquake, and being too fast for an accurate Psychic. Infernape was easily able to dwindle Metagross's health. However, as expected, Infernape slowed down enough for Metagross to land a powerful Psychic, bringing him into the air and slamming him into the ground various times, knocking it out. Lucas swapped him out for his trusty Riolu, who was very much excited to finally fight.

"Remember Riolu...he's tough. Be careful."

"Ri..." Riolu rushed forward, sensing the Psychics and thus, being able to dodge them. He got up close, his palm glowed yellow, and put said palm onto Metagross. Riolu swiped his hand away and this launched Metagross. Unfortunately, this paralyzed Metagross. This massively slowed him down and even practically made him incapable of movement. And best of all, he stopped levitating. Riolu jumped up high into the air and fell back like a torpedo. He slammed his fist into the ground, his strangely powerful Earthquake. The crack in the ground ran up to Metagross, somehow actually causing a sort of earth explosion, knocking it out. Metagross reverted back to his regular self as he fell down in defeat. Riolu cheered as Lucas was named the winner. Ninten fell to his knees as he returned his Metagross. Ninten even started tearing up. He looked up at Lucas and saw the joy on his face. Ninten wiped his eyes before walking over to him.

"C-congrats Lucas." Lucas looked at Ninten and saw his teary eyes. Lucas brought him into a hug.

"That was a close fight. You should be proud. And I'm sure Claus is plenty proud of you." Ninten pulled away.

"Y-yeah?"

"Of course." Ninten took in a deep breath before clearing his throat.

"Well...I'm glad to have lost to you." He gave a small pet to Riolu's head and smiled a somber smile. "You're quite a strong little guy." Riolu giggled happily.

The boys were told to leave so the stadium could be fixed for the next fight. They walked over to the Pokemon Center that was built into the stadium. That was where Ness and Claus ran in to congratulate Lucas. Ninten felt bad, of course, which was when Claus hugged him. "You did well, don't beat yourself up, ok?" Claus pleaded.

"O-ok..." Claus kissed Ninten's cheek, making him blush immensely. He covered his face. "Oh, Claus~" Lucas smiled proudly before turning toward Ness.

"Looks like I'll be moving on in the tournament," he said.

"See, told ya. You were amazing out there. Got me shaking in my boots," Ness happily said. Lucas smiled.

"Well...maybe we could fight and I can show you my strength."

"You'd probably have to get through your brother first." Lucas looked at Claus's happy and serious composure and thought about the team he decided to come into the championship with. He knew Claus was going to win the next match. He needed to think of a way to get through Claus's team.

Lucas stood in the tunnel. Just as he expected, Claus won against Mario. He realized something about Claus's team...he had a pretty big weakness to fighting. And wouldn't lord Arceus have it, two of his Pokemon were experts in the fighting type. Lucas stepped out onto the stadium and met up with Claus in the middle of the stadium. "Claus..." Lucas said.

"Lucas..." Claus said.

"Riolu?" Riolu tilted his head.

"You too Riolu."

"Good luck," Lucas said.

"I won't need luck."

"Oh just get your cliche butt over there," Lucas pushed Claus toward his side of the field. Claus rolled his eyes before walking over to his spot. Lucas did the same. They stared each other down before throwing out their first Pokemon. Just as Lucas thought, Claus must've noticed his fighting type weakness so he sent out his Galarian Slowbro. Lucas's strategic mind came in hand, having sent out Blastoise.

Blastoise ran forward, dodging Slowbro's Shell Side Arm attacks, or just outright tanking through the hits like a boss. Slowbro, just like his name suggested, was too slow to move out the way of a powerful Crunch from the big weaponized turtle. However, due to having his jaw on Slowbro, Slowbro was able to hit him multiple times with Zen Headbutt. Once the pain got too much, Blastoise let go and got hit with a Shell Side Arm. Once he recovered, which didn't take long, he unleashed a few Hydro Pumps, and once more, Slowbro's lack of speed became his downfall as he took all three Hydro Pumps and got knocked out.

Skarmory was sent out. This was bad for Blastoise. Skarmory was too high and too fast to be accurately hit with Hydro Pumps, and for the same reason, he couldn't get up close for Skull Bashes or Crunches. Blastoise tried to shoot Ice Beams from his mouth to attack, but Skarmory simply fought back with Steel Wings and destroyed any and all ice that seemed to threaten it. Blastoise was returned and Rotom came out. Rotom used a Discharge, which was pretty much unavoidable for the steel bird. It plummeted to the ground. Once it saw Rotom zapping toward it, it used Iron Defense, which seemingly reversed the effects of the electricity on its wings. It flew up, making Rotom stop. However, Rotom was also able to "fly" by simply...levitating further up than he already was. However, high up in the air was Skarmory's terrain. It was able to unleash many attacks from Steel Wing and a powerful one from Brave Bird. As Rotom fell to the ground, it unleashed another Discharge, forcing Skarmory to fall as well, and since it was steel, it fell fast whilst Rotom caught himself and continued floating. Skarmory fell into the ground with a crash, allowing Rotom to float down. He made a white light come out of Skarmory before crashing back in with a powerful ghastly explosion...Poltergeist. This powerful move knocked Skarmory out. Lucas was doing very well, yet, Claus was still as composed as ever.

Claus sent out Girafarig, which instantly used Crunch on Rotom, knocking it out, and showing that Claus was not out of the ring just yet. Lucas sent out Lycanroc. Neither had a huge advantage over the other. A good and honest fight. Lycanroc ran forward and tried to use Iron Head, just for a chance to get a follow-up, but Girafarig was able to stop Lycanroc dead in his tracks with Psychic. Lycanroc tried to struggle himself out of the Psychic but failed. Girafarig started to slam Lycanroc into the ground over and over again. Soon enough, Lycanroc used Stone Edge to surprise Girafarig enough to let up on the Psychic, allowing Lycanroc to escape and attack with Accelerock. This instantly gave Lycanroc the advantage. Lycanroc quickly ran around Girafarig, speeding faster than expected. During this run, he was secretly using Swords Dance, and once his attack was high enough, he launched in with an Accelerock and knocked out Girafarig.

Claus was in trouble now. The rest of his Pokemon were weak to fighting. Lucas knew this, of course, and returned Lycanroc to bring out Infernape. Claus brought out Porygon-Z. Porygon-Z started with a Tri Attack, which was a weird-looking attack that, in a way, confused Infernape enough to prevent him from dodging out the way. Tri Attack ended up freezing Infernape, but since he's also a fire type, he simply burnt out of it. Infernape quickly ran forward and threw many punches, kicks, and headbutts, Infernape's powerful Close Combat. This was able to instantly knock out the Porygon-Z. Lucas held a smug expression...Claus was in deep trouble.

Claus sent out his Tyrantrum. Tyrantrum tried to Stomp on Infernape, but Infernape, being too fast, simply moved out the way after each attempt. Once more, Infernape ran in for a Close Combat, being so close allowed Tyrantrum to get off a Dragon Claw. But this attack didn't stop Infernape, he got off a second Close Combat and defeated the Tyrantrum. Claus knew, at this point, he was probably not going to win. He sent out his final Pokemon, Type: Null. He ran forward, a white aura seemingly appeared around his head. He was going in for a Double Edge. Infernape simply jumped out of the way and used Close Combat on Type: Null's back. One more and it'd be gone. Claus was going to go out fighting. He tapped the Poketch. He brought his arms up and crossed his wrists in front of his face. He got rid of the X he made with his arms and just moved both of his arms outward, still one over the other. That was when he moved them to his right, diagonally pointing to the ground. This was when Type: Null started glowing in a way. Claus moved his left arm directly opposite of his right, which stayed diagonally pointing down at the ground. This was when Claus brought both of those hands inward, forming a Z. He started glowing as well. The yellow glow of Type: Null grew more potent. "BREAKNECK BLITZ!" Claus yelled. The yellow glow started to form in the air behind him which made him run at a very high speed, his head pointing forward, ready for the powerful Z-Move. Infernape was fast, yes, but not fast enough to dodge this Z-Move. Type: Null rammed right into Infernape. The powerful move launched Infernape right into a wall, knocking it out.

Lucas knew Type: Null was nearly knocked out, so he sent out Riolu. Riolu ran forward quickly and used Force Palm...instantly taking the Type: Null out. Claus sighed before returning his Type: Null. He looked down at his Pokeball and smirked. "Thank you for taking me this far." he plopped the ball onto his belt, with the others, and walked over to Lucas. "That wasn't much of a surprise." Lucas chuckled.

"O-oh really?"

"Yeah, kinda expected I'd lose to you if we ever fought." Riolu ran over excitedly and jumped onto Lucas's shoulder. His joy showed no bounds. He held out his fist toward Claus. Claus chuckled before giving the baby Pokemon a friendly fist-bump. "You did well too, little guy." Riolu stood proud, his hands on his hips, and his chin up. He not only loved fights but loved compliments as well. Lucas decided to pet his head, making him purr in a way.

They were issued to leave to the Pokemon Center, and much like last time, the two who didn't fight came over to greet them. Ness was overjoyed with Lucas making it to the finals. He collided Lucas into a hug powerful enough to knock them both down. "N-Ness?" Ness nuzzled his head into Lucas's neck. Ness even licked it, making a small yelp escape his mouth. Lucas covered his mouth once he noticed Claus and Ninten looking down at him. Ness sat up and looked down at Lucas.

"I'll need to reward you when we get the chance," Ness winked. Lucas blushed before covering his face. Ness giggled as he forced Lucas's hands apart and leaned in to kiss him on the lips. Lucas took this chance to swap over and force Ness to the ground. He broke apart from the kiss and smirked down at him.

"Just because you got me blushing...doesn't mean I'll be the bottom." Ness opened his mouth to say something, but that was when the bell rang that signified his Pokemon was healed. He stood up and grabbed Riolu. "Hey bud, how're you feeling?"

"RI!"

"Ready to fight, as always." Ness stood up, covering his lower region.

"I'll...be in the bathroom.." Ness ran off.

"Ri?" Riolu was confused. Lucas simply scratched the back of his head.

"You'll know when you get older."

Lucas waited to be called out. This fight was big. It'd determine if he or Ness would fight Red. They were called in. The boys met each other in the middle of the stadium. Both boys held a serious expression. "Good luck, Lucas."

"You too." Lucas grabbed a Pokeball and pointed it toward Ness, with the little button facing Ness. Ness did the same, touching the buttons together. After that, they left for their respective spots. From that point on, the battle was on.

Ness sent out Mienshao and Lucas sent out Blastoise. Mienshao ran toward Blastoise in a very smooth, flawless way. Blastoise tried to go for a Skull Bash on Mienshao, but Mienshao used Detect and dodged it flawlessly. Mienshao was able to use Low Sweep, making Blastoise trip. Now that Blastoise was on his shell, Mienshao used many Drain Punches on his weaker belly. Blastoise, after a while, was able to hit Mienshao with a Hydro Pump. Blastoise jumped onto his feet and shot more Hydro Pumps. A few more hits before Blastoise was attacked by a surprise Drain Punch, knocking it out.

Lucas sent out Rotom and it was able to easily knock out Mienshao with a Shadow Ball. Ness sent out his Muk. Rotom zapped around, dodging Muk's Sludge Bombs. Rotom was able to get a good Discharge in before letting his guard up and getting hit with a Toxic. He instantly got poisoned of course. Making him vulnerable to a Poison Jab. This knocked Rotom away. Rotom started taking damage from the poison, and Lucas knew he needed to get Rotom out. Rotom used Volt Switch, with bolts of electricity rushing toward Muk. The second they hit, Rotom jumped back and into his Pokeball. Lucas sent out Lycanroc, who ran in and did a quick Accelerock, knocking Muk out.

Ness sent out his Musharna. Lycanroc growled before running toward Musharna, intending to unleash more Accelerocks, but the second he got closer, Musharna used Hypnosis. Putting him to sleep. This hypnosis was so strong that Musharna was able to use her Psychic to hit him against the wall, the floor, anything possible without him waking up. This was doing massive damage, but the second Lycanroc woke up, it did a powerful Stone Edge, knocking Musharna out in one hit. However, it was in the air when that happened, so when he fell he got knocked out.

Lucas sent out Sunflora as Ness sent out Oricorio. Sunflora used Sunny Day as Oricorio rhythmically flew toward Sunflora. Sunflora was taken out by a single Hurricane. Lucas sent out Infernape. Infernape got covered in fire as he became his own fireball, crashing into Oricorio...his powerful Flare Blitz. Oricorio started to do Revelation Dance, causing some strange ghostly effects. However, despite that, another Flare Blitz took it out before the move could do much to Infernape. Ness didn't have very many Pokemon left. It was looking down for him.

Ness sent out Electabuzz. Electabuzz instantly used Thunder Wave to prevent Infernape from moving. Electabuzz walked over. He used Mega Punch a few times before covering his fist in electricity to use Thunder Punch. This knocked Infernape out. Lucas sent out Rotom, who was still poisoned and used a few Shadow Balls, with Electabuzz being unable to do pretty much anything. His electric moves did nothing, and he couldn't do much physically to the ghost. Rotom was still taking damage of course. Another Shadow Ball took Electabuzz out. But soon, it too was taken out by the poison. They were both down to one 'mon.

Ness sent out Cinderace and Lucas sent out Riolu. Lucas knew exactly what Ness was going to do. Ness tapped on his Poketch some more and soon, Cinderace's Pokeball started glowing. Cinderace was returned into his Pokeball right before the ball grew. Ness threw the ball forward and Cinderace, in his Gigantamaxed form came out. The enormous Cinderace standing on the humongous fireball was imposing and intimidating. However, Riolu has faced down more intimidating foes. The ground started to shake, making Riolu look up and see a giant fist rush down. Riolu tried to escape, but it was too big for him to dodge. Riolu was hit, but he recovered fast. He then ran toward Cinderace, dodging many Max Flares. Riolu shot up a few Aura Spheres, but Cinderace simply protected himself. That was when Cinderace jumped from the ball and kicked it toward Riolu, and once more, he couldn't dodge it. After this attack, Cinderace went back to normal. Riolu hit the ground, very damaged. He stared down Cinderace before hitting the ground, using Earthquake. Not only was that strong, but it made Cinderace incapable of proper dodging, so Riolu was able to get off a few Aura Spheres before running in and smiling down at his old friend and using a Force Palm, knocking Cinderace into the air. While Cinderace was falling, Riolu was charging a large Aura Sphere, once fully charged, Riolu shot it and knocked Cinderace out. Riolu collapsed, heavily damaged. Lucas won.

Ness smiled before returning Cinderace. Lucas ran up to pick Riolu up. "Riolu...you did amazing out there." Ness walked over with a very proud smile plastered on his face. "Well well well, look who's the best trainer out here." Lucas looked at Ness. Lucas had doubtful tears coming down his face.

"Yeah...right...this is as far as I'll-" Ness cut him off with a slap across the face. Lucas rubbed where he hit.

"We're not doing this again Lucas. You just beat Ninten, Claus, and myself. You beat a whole organization. YOU DEFEATED THE RULER OF TIME AND SPACE! Lord Arceus saw you as worthy...what in God's name makes you think you're not strong." Lucas stared into Ness's eyes.

"I'm not strong. My Pokemon are."

"Your Pokemon would be nothing without you. Riolu lost every fight he was in before meeting you. Without you, Riolu would've never gotten strong enough to defeat a Cinderace." Lucas looked down at Riolu. Riolu didn't like the fact Ness called him weak, but he couldn't deny the fact he was only stronger because of Lucas. So...he nodded. Lucas's tears turned to proudness. He hugged his Riolu tightly.

"I-I'll try not to doubt myself again..."

"Better not. Or I'll make Muk sit on ya, you saw what Grimer did to Ninten..." Lucas shuddered at the thought and the memory. He broke the hug and smiled an honest and genuinely proud smile.

"I'll keep that in mind."

They walked over to the Pokemon Center to obviously heal their Pokemon. They were joined by Ninten and Claus, who obviously gave their congratulations to Lucas. A loud gasp stopped their congratulations. They turned toward the entrance of the Center and saw all the gym leaders. Mario stepped forward with a proud expression on his face. "Wow...Lucas. It's-a been amazing to-a see your journey from when you challenged my-a gym," Mario said. Lucas chuckled happily.

"Th-thanks." Link stepped forward.

"We brought some people you may like to see," Link said. He and the other gym leaders stepped aside. Hinawa, Flint, and Fuel stood there. Lucas happily ran forward and brought them into a hug, crying tears of joy. Claus stood away, eager to join the hug but felt...out of place. Flint looked up at the other three boys.

"What're you waiting for...come on," he said. Claus ran forward first before the other two, making it a bigger hug. Yoshi slowly walked over and joined the hug, soon followed by the other leaders.

"Well, quite the hug, huh?" Red asked from the doorway of the center. The large group hug broke up and Lucas stared at Red. "Lucas, I look forward to fighting you. You think you can take me?" Lucas looked at Ness before back at Red.

"You bet I can," Lucas proudly and confidently said. Red winked before walking off to do whatever Champions do. Lucas took a breath of relief. "So stressful." Ness rubbed Lucas's back.

"You've got this!"

I don't "got this". I'm screwed!

Lucas stood in the tunnel the next day. The loud crowd cheering for the final fight of the championship. The cheers were extra loud. Lucas looked at Riolu. Riolu was as determined and battle-ready as he always was. They were called out, making Lucas flinch a bit, too scared to leave. The announcer called his name again. "Ri!"

"I-I dunno, Riolu. I dunno if I can do this."

"RI ri...riolu...lulu!" Lucas knew not of what he said, but something about it inspired him. Lucas gulped before stepping out. Red was already waiting for him in the middle of the stadium. Red adjusted his hat as he watched Lucas walk up to him. Lucas stopped in front of him and held out his hand.

"I'm ready." Red took his hand and they shook their hands. The boys walked over to their sides of the stadium and they faced each other, hands on their first Pokemon for the fight. Red and Lucas tossed theirs out at the same time.

Red sent out Machamp as Lucas sent out Blastoise. Machamp shot forward and instantly used Superpower by grabbing Blastoise slamming him a few times into the ground before throwing him away. While he was in the air, Blastoise shot Machamp with Hydro Pump. Blastoise landed on his feet and glared at Machamp. Machamp shot forward again, but Blastoise was able to dodge and get a close-quarters Hydro Pump, enhancing the power and launching him away. However, while in the air, Machamp used Hyper Beam at the ground to combine it with the power of his Earthquake. This power took Blastoise out.

Lucas sent out his Infernape. He started using Flame Wheel. Because of this wheel-like form, it was able to dodge many attacks before crashing into Machamp, knocking it out. Red sent out Lapras. Lapras rushed around the stadium on a stream of water she was creating, AKA, the move Waterfall. However, Infernape was still moving around in a wheel. Since Infernape was naturally faster, it was able to get a few hits in before his fire ran out and Lapras ran into him with her powerful Waterfall. It did a lot, but Infernape was able to run in and get a powerful Close Combat off, knocking Lapras out.

Red sent out Arcanine. Infernape gulped then got Crunched. Despite it being weak, it knocked him out. Lucas sent out Lycanroc. The two dogs, one larger than the other, stared at each other. Lycanroc zoomed around the stadium as Arcanine did the same. They were really running in circles, throwing attacks but missing. Lycanroc used Stone Edge right in front of Arcanine, forcing him to run right into it and making it the perfect opportunity for him to run in and attack with an Accelerock. Arcanine ran forward and used Bite on Lycanroc. Arcanine then tossed Lycanroc into the air and used Heat Wave to get some more hits in. Arcanine then jumped up and used Roar to launch Lycanroc into the ground, knocking it out.

Lucas sent out Rotom. He was able to use Discharge, which knocked the Arcanine out. Pikachu was sent out. Pikachu ran in, hardening his tail into steel and slamming it into Rotom...Iron Tail. They exchanged some electric attacks some more, before Rotom tried to use Poltergeist, but missed due to Pikachu's speed and using another Iron Tail. Rotom was knocked out.

Sunflora came out and stared intensely at the electric rodent. Sunflora started a Petal Blizzard around the entire stadium, and with Pikachu being frail, it knocked him out. Red sent out Snorlax. Sunflora looked up at the giant Pokemon. She gulped. Sunflora used Petal Blizzard to try and get some chip damage in, which worked. Sunflora was able to get some more in, before Snorlax flat out used Body Slam, knocking out Sunflora in a single hit. Lucas had one more Pokemon left while Red had two. Lucas was in some serious trouble.

Riolu jumped in and didn't hesitate to use Force Palm. Snorlax wasn't launched far at all, but Riolu was able to get an Aura Sphere off. That was when Snorlax did another Body Slam, landing on Riolu. Riolu wasn't knocked out yet. He was very hurt, nearly knocked out from that single hit, but he was still kicking on a metaphorical 1HP. That was when Riolu launched Snorlax up with a very powerful Aura Sphere. Snorlax landed rather far and knocked out. Riolu stood up, panting. He was very hurt...he couldn't even stand properly.

Red sent out his final Pokemon, Venusaur. Red didn't hesitate to Mega Evolve Venusaur. Riolu stared at his impending doom. Venusaur launched a Sludge Bomb but Riolu just barely dodged it. Lucas knew, at this rate...he'd lose. He looked down at his Poketch and gulped. "These never worked for me...why would they work now?" Lucas looked back at Riolu and saw him just barely dodge a Sludge Bomb again, and Venusaur was slowly walking forward. "I need to do something." Lucas tapped around on his Poketch and noticed something odd...before, he could only activate one of the three special things, Mega Evolution, Z-Move, and Dynamax, but now there was an option to activate all three. Now, he didn't know what that meant. Granted, he hadn't checked his Poketch since that time with Arceus and the creators of Time and Space. Lucas pressed that option and instantly felt a weird feeling. A Mega Stone...a Fightinium Z...and a Dynamax Crystal all floated out of the Poketch and formed a triangle. This triangle rushed over to Riolu, surrounding him in a rainbow aura. Riolu floated into the air and closed his eyes. The Rainbow aura connected itself to Lucas, making him float up as well. The two are floating with the rainbow aura connecting and surrounding them. Lucas and Riolu were moving toward each other, but the two were shrouded by a rainbow cloud.

"WOAH...WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE CHALLENGER LUCAS AND HIS POKEMON!" The announcer yelled with never-ending enthusiasm. Ness stood up and watched with concern. The cloud of rainbow aura grew. Once the cloud disappeared, the figure that was floating inside it landed on the ground.

"Lucas...?" Ness questioned from the audience. Red just looked concerned. The figure wasn't Riolu...or Lucas...it was both. It was mainly Lucas, his blond hair waving in the wind of his own existence. His hands and feet were exactly what Riolu's were. Lucas had a black mask over his eyes that connected to a second pair of ears, floppy ones this time around. Lucas even had the same tail that Riolu had. Lucas was mostly nude, with his crotch being covered by some blue-ish skin that fully flattened him down there. There were other spots around his bare body of blue or grey. Finally, there were smooth, baby spikes on his arms. Ninten, from the crowd, brought out his Pokedex and pointed it toward Lucas. However, it only scanned him as if he was Riolu, giving all the typical Riolu information.

Lucas rushed forward and touched his glowing hand onto Venusaur. "So long..." Lucas swiped his hand away, launching Venusaur into the wall. While there, Lucas started charging a super-powerful Aura Sphere. He launched the big orb of aura and it hit Venusaur in a critical hit. Venusaur ran in to try and get a Mega Drain off, but Lucas was too fast and simply dodged every attempt by Venusaur of an attack. Lucas then slammed a fist into the ground, causing a powerful Earthquake to prevent Venusaur from moving properly, which allowed Lucas to easily run in and get a very strong Ice Punch off...knocking out the Venusaur.

Lucas stood in the middle of the stadium as the cheers roared and Red returned his final Pokemon. Red smirked before walking over to Lucas. Lucas looked at Red and smiled. "Well...I didn't expect this outcome..." A little puff of smoke appeared around Lucas and when the smoke disappeared, Lucas was back to normal with Riolu standing by his side. "What was that?"

"I guess..." Lucas looked down at Riolu and smiled. "I guess we fused."

"Yeah, we did!" Riolu proudly owned it. Lucas blinked blankly.

"D-did you..."

"Since we fused, we can now understand each other more."

"Woah...cool!" Lucas picked Riolu up and placed him on his normal spot. Lucas looked at Red. "So does this mean..."

"You're the champion? Yes. You are now the champion of the Ultima region." Red extended his hand and smirked. "It was a pleasure...champion Lucas." Lucas teared up as he took Red's hand and shook it. That was when the applause and cheering grew, especially in Lucas's friends and family.

Lucas was escorted to the Pokemon Center, healed his Pokemon, before heading back out to the still crowded stadium. Lucas walked over to the middle of the stadium, the little circle. This little circle opened up and a circular pedestal came up with six Pokeball-sized indents. Red pressed the button and the pedestal was powered on. "Put the Pokeballs here...and we'll register you and your Pokemon, as the champion and his team." Lucas nodded and placed all six Pokeballs in the indents. This connected to the big screen at the end of the stadium which had the words "NEW CHAMPION!" Lucas's trainer card was shown on the screen before it was joined by his team...Blastoise...Rotom...Sunflora...Lycanroc...Infernape...and Riolu.

An hour later, a little band came into the stadium. It was the singer, Roxie, with a band of Pokemon behind her, being Rillaboom, both forms of Toxtricity, Exploud, and Maractus. Lucas stood around with the Gym Leaders and the former champion. "I wanna be, the very best, like no one ever was!" Roxie began singing. She continued to sing the song known as the Pokemon Champion Theme. There were fireworks, and amazing food...and just a fun time in general. Lucas was having a blast. He won. He beat Red. He was the champion.

After all the celebrations, Lucas's family came down and congratulated him. However, they left to allow the people who journeyed with him to congratulate him more. Ness collided him into another hug and a flurry of kisses. "Lucas! You did it!" Ness yelled happily, with proud tears in his eyes. Ness continued to kiss him many many many more times.

"Ok ok, Ness...I get it...you're proud of me." Ness broke the hug up and wiped the tears from his eyes.

"And you said you weren't gonna win." Claus wrapped his arm around Lucas's neck and grinned.

"Look at you lil' bro...the big bad champion. How do you feel?" he asked.

"Unbelievable..." he answered.

"You better believe it...cause you're running this league and the region now," Ninten pointed out. Lucas nodded. Something good about him was that he was good under pressure. Of the four of them, they all knew he'd be the better champion since the champion was more than just a good Pokemon trainer. They should also be a good leader since they would likely make changes to the region and the league. And now that responsibility was Lucas's. "Say, how about we go celebrate in Mute City?"

"Yes...as your champion I order us to eat at the restaurant there," Lucas ordered. The other three bowed their heads jokingly.

"As you wish," they said in unison. The four of them walked off.

Someone was watching them. Someone stayed in the seats of the stadium. This person is none other than Giovanni. He stood up and tapped the little calling device in his ear. "Yes...he won. No no, trust me, I can get to him. He is just a boy after all. We will be able to freely do what we want in no time at all. A boy is not worthy of being a Champion. Uh-huh...I understand. See you soon, Tabuu." Giovanni turned off the device and smirked as he watched Lucas and his friends leave the stadium. "Soon boy...soon you'll be bowing to me...Giovanni!"
