Chapter 78 - Final Battle - Part 1

"Dad, what are you doing here?" Logan asked as he pulled himself from his father's tight grip.

Gordon folded his arms and smiled. "I was in the neighborhood!" He laughed. "Nah. I never got the chance to watch you battle live, so I figured now would be the time to do so. Didn't think I'd make it in time though. Yer mom around by chance?"

"She's not," Logan answered.

"That's a relief!"

"You gonna introduce us?" Yurie said. She peeked around Logan to get a closer look at the massive man.

"Yeah!" Logan exclaimed. He motioned to his friends. "Dad, these are my friends. Yurie Kawahara, Seshiru Egawa, and Himawari Watson. I've been traveling with them."

"Pleasure!"

"And these are my rivals, Sora and Maleah!"

"Pleasure!"

"Everyone, this is my dad, Gordon Stephenson."

"Pleasure!"

Gordon sighed. "I'm sorry I missed your battle with Aaron. I know that you two have been feuding since you were youngins. You were always fighting over that girl. What was her name again? Luna?"

"Shut up!" Logan exclaimed while he wildly put his hands in his dad's face.

"I'm kidding! I'm kidding!" Gordon said. He looked around at Logan's group of friends. "These the people that have been keeping you safe, kid?"

Yurie didn't know what she imagined Logan's dad like, but it definitely wasn't the man that stood before her. He was much larger than she had anticipated, but he also looked incredibly strong. His eyes were gentle though.

"You got one more match, Logan. Tonight, I want to talk all about your adventures and get to know your friends."

"And I want to know about what you've been up to since you left the gym!" Logan exclaimed. He hadn't been this happy in a very long time.

That night, Logan and his friends spent time with his dad. Gordon reunited with his old Excadrill, who had retired from competition the year prior. And the group enjoyed pizza. Gordon ate two whole pizzas by himself, which explained to Yurie and Seshiru where Logan got his appetite from.

"Your aunt told me a lot about your travels, but I missed ya wherever I went. When I ended up in Alola, you had already taken off for Hoenn," Gordon said. "I wish I could have seen ya battle, kid. I'm sorry."

"You're here now. It's what matters," Logan said.

Gordon looked at Logan's group of friends. "Quite the odd group you have here, but everyone seems like they have good heads on their shoulders. Have you by chance run into a man named Clint? Kind of an old fart."

"Clint Holland? I battled him in the Top 16," Seshiru said. "He was really good. He's already gone back to Kalos, though."

"He made it all the way to the Top 16?" Gordon asked. "Amazing. Too bad I couldn't see him compete too. We met a couple of months ago. Good guy. Talks a lot though."

"Mr. Stephenson," Yurie said quietly. Up until that point, Gordon hadn't regarded her much, as she didn't say a single word. "I have a question."

"You are?"

"Yurie. Kawahara Yurie," she said. "I have a question about Logan."

Logan was taken aback. "You're just gonna ask in front of me? That's embarrassing and rude!"

"What's your question?" Gordon asked. He looked intensely at the girl.

Yurie couldn't help but smile. "Do you have any pictures of him when he was little? I really want to see!"

"Me too!" Maleah and Seshiru exclaimed together.

Himawari laughed and then lightly punched Sora in the shoulder. "Wouldn't you like to see that?"

Sora shrugged. "You have no idea."

Gordon couldn't help but grin. "I have a lot of pictures of Logan when he was younger! I have a really cute one of him wearing nothing but a cowboy hat and boots!"

Logan blushed. "Don't you dare show that picture!"

"But you look so cute!"

"Dad! I'm naked in that picture!"

"No, you're not! You're wearing a hat and boots!"

"We have now reached the finals of the Indigo Conference! Many trainers came to this conference with the goal of winning it all and going on to face the Elite Four, but as it stands, there are only two trainers left! Logan Stephenson, the ace trainer from Unova! And Kawahara Haruto, Hoenn's master of battling brutality!" the announcer yelled.

"This must be hard for you," Seshiru said as the two boys took their positions on the field. "Your older brother is taking on the boy you love."

Yurie, who would usually scream and protest at what Seshiru said, instead remained quiet. She looked onto the field, unsure of who to cheer for.

Himawari patted her on the back. "Don't worry."

The referee held up his flags and looked at the two boys. "The following match will be a full six-on-six battle! A winner will be decided when one side has lost all of their team! When one side loses three Pokémon, we will enter a short intermission. Trainers, are you ready?"

Logan and Haruto, without taking their eyes off of each other, both nodded.

"Begin!"

"Gengar, go!" Haruto yelled, throwing his ball forward. A Pokémon that Logan was familiar with materialized on the field from the light. It stuck its tongue out and lashed it about as it looked at Logan.

"My Pokémon are going to give it their best," Logan said. He pulled a Poké Ball from his belt and expanded it. "I'm not going to lose this year." With that, he threw his ball into the air. It exploded, and Grotle's form took to the field. She stamped her feet and howled.

Haruto shook his head and glared. "How dare you insult me by choosing a Pokémon that's not even fully evolved. You do realize this is the finals, right?"

Logan started to laugh. "Don't worry about me, Haruto. This Grotle has more fight in her than you'd think."

Yurie nervously played with her skirt. "C'mon, Grotle," she muttered under her breath.

"Gengar, use Sludge Wave!" Haruto yelled while pointing out to the field.

Gengar floated into the air and started to wave his fingers. His body radiated with a purple aura, and a wave of energy blasted from his fingers. It pulsated across the field, heading straight towards Grotle.

"Protect!" Logan ordered.

Grotle focused, and her eyes started to glow blue. A protective wall formed around her body, nullifying any effects that the Sludge Wave would have had.

Haruto grinned. "Won't be able to do that one in succession with much success, eh? C'mon, Unova! Gengar, use Hypnosis!"

"Grotle, watch out!" Logan warned, but it was too late.

Gengar floated in front of the Grass-type, and his eyes started to glow with a blue hue. Grotle was fixated with the Ghost-type's stare, and her body went still before she collapsed.

Haruto laughed. "Great. Use Dream Eater!"

Gengar hovered over Grotle and then put his hand over her head. Although Grotle had been put into a deep sleep, she let out a blood-curdling cry. Logan watched on in horror, as he couldn't do anything.

"And now, Sludge Wave!" Haruto yelled.

Gengar floated backward and held out his arms. He waved around his fingers again, releasing the thin wave of poisonous energy. It washed over Grotle's body, sending her into the air. She landed with a hard thud, but the way that her body continued to stir indicated that she was not down for the count just yet.

Haruto put his hands on his hips. "Just call her back, Logan. She's clearly not cut out for a battle like this."

Logan focused on his Pokémon, ignoring Haruto. "C'mon, Grotle…"

Then, Grotle opened her eyes.

"Yes!" Logan cheered. Some of the crowd followed along.

She turned her body around and then stood back up. She stretched her neck and shook her head before focusing on Gengar and growling.

"Grotle, use-"

"Phantom Force!"

"Huh?"

Before Logan could finish his command, Gengar formed a portal out of thin air and then disappeared. Grotle was left alone on the field. She looked around, trying to figure out where Gengar could have gone.

Logan clenched his fist. "He's got something for everything."

"Now!" Haruto yelled.

"But so do we! Crunch!"

Gengar appeared from above, carrying what looked like ghostly energy with him. He swung the energy around and tried to crash it into Grotle, but the Grass-type was prepared. She surrounded herself with black energy before snapping forward, crunching the black energy down onto the entirety of Gengar. The Ghost-type squealed with pain before retreating. All of the energy that he had built up dissipated instantly.

"Leaf Storm! Hit 'em hard!" Logan yelled.

"Phantom Force!"

The two Pokémon prepared to use their attacks. Gengar formed another portal which he would soon disappear into, and the leaves on Grotle's back started to glow with intensity.

"Bring that storm to him! Fire it in the portal!" Logan directed.

Grotle quickly ran forward and jumped into the air. She focused her energy and then shot the leaves for Gengar's portal. The Ghost-type Pokémon disappeared, and then the mass of leaves quickly followed. The portal snapped shut, and everything went silent once again. Everyone quietly waited for the results, and after about thirty seconds of waiting, the portal opened up, and Gengar fell to the ground. He crashed into the field, his body completely limp, and the referee raised his flag.

"Gengar is unable to battle! Grotle is the winner!" he declared.

The crowd clapped, and Logan sighed with relief. Haruto returned Gengar and then glared. He thought momentarily before drawing out his next Poké Ball.

"Wait, what is this?!" the announcer yelled, stopping Haruto in his tracks. The crowd hushed and watched as Grotle started to shake. A light glow came off of her until she was enveloped in a bright white. Her body started to shift and grow, morphing into a new Pokémon that was twice her size. The energy exploded off of her and rained down onto the earth. She roared, shaking the field.

"You evolved!" Logan exclaimed. "I knew that you had it in you!" He pulled out his Pokédex and scanned the new Pokémon.

"Torterra, the Continent Pokémon. Ancient people imagined that beneath the ground, a gigantic Torterra dwelled," the Pokédex chimed.

Logan looked at his new Pokémon's information and smiled, seeing that she learned a new attack. "Alright, Torterra! Just in time! Let's mess this dude up!"

"Torterra!" she responded.

"Logan's Grotle has evolved into a Torterra!" the announcer shouted. "With her new boost in power, how will this affect the battle?!"

Haruto looked at the Poké Ball that he had drawn out before and he held it tightly. "We're not going to back down from you, Logan. My next Pokémon will wipe out your team one by one! Steelix, go!"

Haruto's largest Pokémon materialized on the field. He roared, shaking Indigo Stadium. The crowd awed, and some hoped that they'd get to see him mega evolve once more.

"As you saw from my battle with Seshiru, Steelix is without a doubt one of my strongest Pokémon. Show me what you can do, Unova!"

Logan smiled. "Torterra, you ready for a fight?"

"Tor-terra!" she howled.

"We'll finish you quickly. Stone Edge!" Haruto commanded.

Steelix shoved his tail into the ground, forcing five pillars of stone to burst into the air. They twirled around his body before shooting straight towards Logan's side of the field.

"Defensive Leaf Storm! Don't allow yourself to get hit!" Logan ordered.

Torterra roared and the tree on her back started to glow with energy. Leaves blasted from the tree and then surrounded her body. Each and every stone that collided with the leaves was shredded in an instant like paper, but Torterra only had enough energy to use the maneuver defensively.

Every time that she does Leaf Storm, she loses some of her special attack capabilities. I shouldn't be using it to only defend myself, but he gave me no choice, Logan thought. "Let's try this one on for size! Earthquake!"

"Terra!" the Grass-type cried out while smashing her front legs into the ground. The entirety of the stadium shook from her power, even making Steelix stutter.

"Breaking Swipe! Don't give them any more of an advantage!" Haruto yelled.

Although Steelix found it difficult to move with the field shaking violently, he still managed to slither forward. His tail started to glow with arcane energy, and he swung it around, slamming it into Torterra. The Grass-type was lifted into the air and tossed to the side. She crashed into the ground, putting her own attack to a stop. Once the stadium stopped shaking, Torterra stood back up on all fours, but her knees were weak.

Leaf Storm lowered her special attack, and Breaking Swipe would have just lowered some of her physical attack. She won't be able to do much in the battle right now. We've gotta change tactics, Logan thought before lifting his Poké Ball. "Come back for now, Torterra! Take a break!"

The red light engulfed Torterra, and she was absorbed back into the Poké Ball. Logan sighed and then considered his options. He drew out a Poké Ball with orange designs across its metallic surface. With a deep breath, he tossed it onto the field, and Flygon emerged.

"So nostalgic," Yurie said. "I missed Flygon so much!"

"Logan has switched to Flygon! He's yet to use this Pokémon in the tournament, so I'm keen to see what it can do!" the announcer yelled.

"Flygon, use Fire Blast!"

Before Haruto could comment on Logan's Pokémon or make his own counter command, the Dragon-type flew through the air. She howled as fire started to form in her mouth. And then, she unleashed thick flames from inside. They blasted into Steelix's hard body, making the larger Pokémon screech loudly.

"No!" Haruto yelled. "Heavy Slam!"

Steelix had been slightly knocked back by the Fire Blast, but he was a master at manipulating his own momentum. He turned his body as he fell back to the ground, hoping to land directly on top of Flygon.

"Dodge it!" Logan yelled desperately.

Flygon was already one step ahead of Logan. She quickly flew towards the ground before darting upwards, narrowly avoiding the Steel-type.

Logan laughed. "We learned that one when we fought against Groudon and Kyogre!"

Haruto glared and shook his head. "Now's not the time to be joking around, Unova."

"I wish I was joking! Flygon, take 'em down with Earthquake!"

Flygon flew towards the ground and smashed her legs into the field. Once again, the entire stadium began to shake, and Steelix came to a halt.

"Power through, Steelix! Use Double-Edge!" Haruto commanded. "Don't give them an inch!"

Steelix lowered his body and then dragged himself across the field. He powered through the shaking, and white energy began to explode off of his body. He slithered through the field and then tackled Flygon, sending her backward. She hit the ground hard but then stood back up. The damage she had taken was minor.

"Flygon, don't give in! Fire Blast!"

"Fly!" she screeched while unleashing the big blast of flames from her mouth.

"Stone Edge!"

Steelix drove his tail into the ground and began spinning parts of his body in circles. Five pillars made of stone erupted from the battlefield and then shot forward. The first stone met with the blast of fire, extinguishing it with no problem. The remaining stones pelted into Flygon, making her cry out with pain. She collapsed to the ground but then attempted to push herself back up.

"And now Breaking Swipe!" Haruto shouted.

Steelix's tail started to surge with arcane energy. He slithered forward before flinging his body around. His tail crashed into Flygon, knocking her into the air. She crashed into the field hard, and everyone froze. The crowd came alive whenever she began to stir. She stood back up slowly, her body bobbing up and down from her heavy breathing.

"Flygon really isn't that bad," Haruto said. "You chose a strong Pokémon, Logan, but it won't last long. Finish this with Heavy Slam!"

"Flygon, light him up with Boomburst!"

Steelix came in close and stood up as high as he could on his tail. He then began to fall, putting all of his weight into his upper half. Flygon wasn't afraid though. She let out a screech, before beating her wings violently. There was a boom of sound which echoed across the field. Steelix was put to a stop in the middle of the air and then knocked to the side by the massive power. He crashed into the ground, causing smoke to go into the air.

She really put everything she had into that attack. She won't be able to last much longer, Logan thought. "Use one more Fire Blast!"

Flygon huffed before unleashing the thick blast of fire from her mouth. It blasted into the dust and smoke, and Steelix roared from the pain. When the smoke finally faded, Steelix straightened his body out, and lifted his head into the air.

"How is it still fighting?!" Logan yelled.

"Steelix, use Double-Edge!"

"Dragon Rush! Give it all you got, Flygon!"

The two Pokémon raced down the field as fast as they could, meeting in the middle. What followed was a powerful explosion that shook the entirety of the stadium. Everyone was blinded by the lights, but they were all eager to see the results of the battle.

Logan kept his hat on his head while he tried to look through the smoke. He couldn't tell if either Pokémon had fainted, and before he could give an order, Haruto's voice came through the air.

"Heavy Slam!"

Steelix's head came out from the top before he quickly crashed down, wafting the dust and smoke to the sides of the field. He landed directly on Flygon, causing another loud explosion. He paused momentarily before slithering back, revealing Flygon in an unconscious state.

"Flygon is unable to battle! Steelix is the winner!"

"And just like that, this battle is all tied up!" the announcer screamed into the microphone.

Logan sighed and then withdrew Flygon. He held her ball tightly before placing it back on his belt. He looked up at Steelix, who was clearly exhausted from the battle, but Haruto seemed like the kind of stubborn trainer to allow him to continue battling.

Logan grabbed a Poké Ball from his belt and thought momentarily. I'm taking a risk because he has an attack that could end this match instantly. We have to be fast and attack with certainty. We can't afford to mess up. It'll be worth it.

"C'mon, Unova," Haruto snapped.

Logan grinned. "Go, Charizard!"

Charizard exploded from the Poké Ball and then roared. He slowly came down to the field before huffing, blasting flames from his nostrils.

"You're an idiot," Haruto said.

"Charizard, use Dual Wingbeat!" Logan shouted.

Charizard took into the air and then aimed. He charged energy within both of his wings before blasting it at Steelix. The Steel-type didn't flinch though, taking both blasts without a look of fear in his eyes.

"I was taking pity on you, so I allowed you one strike. This battle is over already. Steelix, use Stone Edge!"

Steelix howled and then stuck his tail into the ground. He ripped the five pillars of stone from the ground and then launched them into the air.

"Rip through them with Dragon Claw!" Logan commanded.

Charizard roared and then flew forward. He shredded through each of the pillars with ease, showing off his power. He then dove towards the ground, slashing at the top of Steelix's head. He quickly retreated back to his side of the field and then waited for follow-up orders.

But then, Steelix fell forward, landing flat on the ground.

Everyone in the stadium, including Haruto, Logan, and the referee, was stunned into the silence. But once the referee collected himself, he raised his flag. "Steelix is unable to battle! Charizard is the winner!"

The crowd erupted into cheers.

Yurie took a sigh of relief. "He-he actually beat Steelix. He beat Haruto's strongest Pokémon!"

"Why didn't he use a Fire-type attack?" Himawari asked.

Seshiru put her hand to her chin. "If Charizard knew Flamethrower or Fire Blast, then surely Logan would have started off with that. But maybe he knows something different? Maybe he's trying to keep it a secret for now."

Haruto withdrew Steelix, closed his eyes, and then grinned. "I was worried that my battles were going to peak when I fought Seshiru. I was worried that you weren't going to be a worthy battle in the finals. But you managed to take down my Steelix, which tells me that you're pretty worthy. Color me surprised, Unova, but you've earned some shred of respect from me. However, Steelix isn't my strongest Pokémon. He was the strongest Pokémon on my last team, but as far as this battle goes, my other Pokémon can be considered stronger."

"If that's a bluff, it's not going to scare me," Logan said. But then he smiled. "But if it's true, then it excites me. Bring it on, Haruto!"

"Go, Walrein!" Haruto shouted while tossing his next Poké Ball into the air. His chubby Water-type Pokémon materialized on the field, landing with a loud thud.

"Charizard, come back!" Logan said while lifting his Poké Ball. Charizard was absorbed into the red light. "No chances."

"I'm so proud of him," Seshiru said. She looked at Gordon. "Your son can sometimes be an idiot."

"Like father, like son!" Gordon exclaimed happily.

"Go, Electivire!" Logan shouted while tossing his Dusk Ball forward. Electivire emerged and immediately stuck his tails into the ground, feeling the charge of the field.

"Walrein, use Rollout!" Haruto shouted.

Walrein roared before rolling into a ball. Some of the ground from the field lifted and surrounded him before he shot forward, straight towards Electivire.

"Beat him down Hammer Arm!"

"To the right!"

Electivire quickly collected energy in his arm. He swung wide, but the weight of his attack prevented him from aiming. Walrein still had control of his attack, able to get out of the way at the last second.

Walrein rounded about and bounded down the field, hitting Electivire in the back. The Electric-type landed directly on his face before quickly getting back up. The attack was stronger than he anticipated, and since it came from behind, he had no way to brace himself.

Haruto grinned. "Keep it going! One more Rollout!"

Walrein didn't stop moving, but he now found turning more of a challenge, as he had collected more rocks and soil from the field. He barreled down the field, shooting directly for Electivire.

"He can't move now! Use Hammer Arm!" Logan directed.

Electivire quickly pushed himself back up and then swung both of his arms downward, striking Walrein moments before he could have steamrolled him. The two paused before Electivire pushed, forcing Walrein backward.

"And Thunder!" Logan ordered.

"Iron Head!"

"Vire!" Logan's Pokémon screeched while unleashing sparks from his body. The sparks blasted into the sky before coming back down onto the field. Logan and Electivire had hoped that Walrein would then be covered in light, but that didn't happen.

Instead, Walrein remained still, taking the sparks directly to the dome. He didn't come out unphased by the attack, but most of the blow had been absorbed by the metallic energy that he managed to create at the last second.

"No way," Logan muttered.

"Blizzard!" Haruto commanded.

Walrein howled and then blasted a heavy wind from his mouth. It carried with it ice and snow, which washed over Electivire, making him roll backward.

"And finish this with Surf!" Haruto added.

Walrein spun his body around, generating aquatic energy around himself. The energy then lifted him in the air, and he shot down at Electivire, prepared to engulf him in a giant wave.

"Defensive Thunder!" Logan ordered.

"Vire!" his Pokémon called back before unleashing sparks from his body once more. It formed a small barrier around him, which deflected the aquatic energy with ease. This time, the water served as a conductor, and Walrein had no way to block. He was zapped, letting out a horrible sound.

"And now focus and give him one more Thunder! Make it a strong one!" Logan directed.

"Elec-vire!" his Pokémon shouted while charging energy within himself. He took aim and prepared to launch the sparks from his body.

"Iron Head!" Haruto commanded.

Logan and Electivire thought that Walrein was going to try the same technique as before, and they didn't make any commands to change up their tactic, hoping that an extra-strong Thunder would simply do the trick. What they didn't prepare for was for Walrein to lunge for, smashing his skull into Electivire's midsection. The Electric-type was stunned, and he stopped charging energy. He knelt over and held at his stomach, allowing for Haruto to make one more command.

"Blizzard!"

At close range, there was nothing that Logan could say that would protect his Pokémon. Walrein blasted the strong gust of wind from his massive mouth, sending Electivire into the air. Ice crystallized over his body before he crashed into the ground, his body limp.

"Electivire is unable to battle! Walrein is the winner!"

"And just like that, this battle is even once again!" the announcer said. "Both teams have lost two members each. This next battle will be vital, as it will determine who has the lead going into the second half! What Pokémon will Logan choose?"

Logan withdrew Electivire and then looked up at the screen. He had already revealed two of his other Pokémon in Torterra and Charizard. If he chose a new Pokémon, he'd be allowing Haruto to make more strategies and give him the advantage for the next round. He couldn't allow that. He pulled a Poké Ball from his belt and tossed it forward, allowing his Grass-type to materialize on the field. She was still hurt from her battle with Gengar, but her fighting spirit matched Logan's.

One direct blast from Blizzard and we're finished. But we also can't be counted out entirely. We can do this, Logan thought. "Torterra, use Leaf Storm!"

"Terra!" she shouted while unleashing leaves from the tree on her back. It wasn't as fierce as the times prior, as she had lost a lot of her energy.

"Blizzard! End this quickly!"

Walrein opened his mouth once more, blowing the strong gust from his mouth. The two attacks collided, and while they fought against one another momentarily, Blizzard eventually broke through. It had been weakened by the Leaf Storm, so when it connected with Torterra, it didn't finish her off as Logan had predicted. Instead, the tree on her back froze, and she was left breathing heavily.

"Rollout! Finish this now, Walrein!" Haruto commanded.

Walrein rolled into a ball and then shot forward, barreling down the field.

"Earthquake!" Logan shouted.

Torterra stood up on her hind legs before coming back down, making the whole arena shake. Walrein was blasted into the air, and he uncurled before hitting the ground. His attack was forced to a stop, and with the field shaking violently, he couldn't find the right timing to move.

"Here's our chance to end this in our favor!" Logan yelled. "Torterra, give it all you got! Use Superpower!"

"Tor-terra!" she yelled. She took a step forward and eventually started a slow charge. She gained speed over time as chakra blasted from her, turning her into a rocket.

Haruto pointed at the field. "Surf!"

Walrein started to spin, generating the wave of aquatic energy. He then pointed at Torterra and flew forward. The two Pokémon crashed into one another, and they were both engulfed by water before it exploded into smoke. Everyone waited for the results, as both Pokémon surely couldn't have survived the attacks.

And when it faded away, both Pokémon remained standing. They both gasped for air and refused to look away from one another. But unfortunately for Logan, Torterra's knees gave out, and she collapsed flat onto the field.

"Torterra is unable to battle! Walrein is the winner!" the referee announced.

The crowd started to clap and cheer for Walrein, who let out a roar of victory. He was then surrounded by the bright red light of Haruto's Poké Ball, disappearing from the field.

"And with that, Logan has lost half of his team, which means that we'll now go into a short intermission! We'll be back soon, but in the meantime, get some snacks and go to the bathroom!" the announcer yelled over the microphone.

Yurie stood up, and she looked at Gordon. "You got fifteen minutes. Now's the time to hype up your son. I'm gonna give Haruto some support. I'm his sister, so I have no choice."

Gordon looked around at Logan's friends. "But, shouldn't it be any one of you going down there?"

Himawari shrugged and then tried to stand, but he was immediately pulled back into his seat by Seshiru.

"No," Seshiru said. "You're his daddy. Get down there."

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

It's been an intense battle so far. Logan has unfortunately lost three of his Pokémon while Haruto still has four (although Walrein shouldn't be able to take much more, right?). Next chapter we will see the conclusion to Logan's final battle. Any guess for 1) what Pokémon Logan will be using and 2) the results? I'm aiming to make it the most intense battle I've ever written. I'm hoping it's also emotionally charged as well.

Also, I'll be posting up the first chapter of something special tomorrow. Please give it a read (as my birthday present). So far, it's the single best chapter I've ever written, I think.

REVIEWS:

pokemonking0924 - "Looking forward to seeing Logan vs Haruto and learning of the surprise visit from Logan's father (I was starting to think the man was dead). That talk Haruto had with Yurie in the beginning made me realize something, he and Logan are a lot alike going though tough battle but losing eventually. Maybe that's why Haruto doesn't like Logan so much since he reminds him of his past self." - Logan's father appeared as the main character in the last KiiK movie! Give it a read to learn more about him! And, as much as I don't want to say this in the story, I just think that Haruto isn't comfortable with Yurie dating a foreign guy.

wisdom-jewel - "It is sad that Seshiru lost her battle and can't go against Logan, but Haruto* and Logan's battle would be interesting. I do want to know what type of Pokemon they would be using." - I think Logan is going with most of his signature Pokemon for the battle. We'll have to see for Haruto though.

CrescentApple - "Whaaaaa damn. I had an inkling Seshiru would lose, but I thought it more likely she would win. Especially because she didn't use Zapdos. But, I thought about it, and I'm not sure if Zapdos could defeat a mega pokemon against its element. Himawari had great dialogue as ever. "-happen to mention that I have Dragon's blood?" They got a chuckle out of me." - I have to build up Haruto as much as possible. Last year, Logan fought against someone without any build, and now, he's battling the strongest trainer in the tournament.

Kunoichi69 - "Those Semifinal rounds were epic and it makes me how you are going to top it with the final round. But I do know that Logan is going to Mega evolve his Charizard. Although I can't help but wonder if you plan on creating another story featuring Logan challenging the elite four or preparing to." - If Logan wins, then his journey will continue. If Logan loses, then he's going back home to relax. I'm hoping that I can top everything with this battle. Logan's last three Pokemon are going to fight harder than they ever have had to before.
