Hi everyone, are you guys still healthy and doing good? Here is the next update as promised and there is no warnings for this chapter. I am glad to know people are happy to see Bryan back with us and as promised, he will stay until the very end of this story.

Chapter 41.2 – healing
Kai looks down at his watch and the time shows 11:55, and there still has been no movement from Mya, but at least she does look much better than what she had looked like not too long ago. Most of the many bags that have surrounded her are removed, as well as the ventilator, and now she is just wearing a regular oxygen mask, and according to Sevastyan, Mya's vitals are as normal as they can be which is a good thing.
A tiny part of Kai is actually relieved that Mya has not woken up yet seeing as he is still very nervous about what might happen should she wake up and see him. He is almost certain that she will glare at him, but he has already been praying to any deity that he can that she does not remember their last encounter, because if that is the case, it is going to be a lot more difficult in showering her with all of his love, but he will still try his best.
Kai is currently sitting in a chair right next to Mya's bed, and he has been sitting here ever since he arrived at the hospital about two and a half hours ago, and even though his body is aching for a cigarette right now, he does not want to risk it because he will not forgive himself if he goes out for a smoke and Mya wakes up and he is not here, so he will just suck it up; he has stayed without a cigarette for much longer anyway, so a couple of hours more won't kill him.
Bryan is standing quietly at the door that leads into Ana's cubicle and he sees how Kai leans backwards and rubs his eyes, this meaning that Kai is tired, and Bryan already knows that it must be due to worry about when Ana will wake up.
While Bryan quietly looks at Kai, he again cannot help but wonder what the hell is going on with Kai, because even his skin is looking paler than usual, and he has somewhat dark circles underneath his eyes, and it appears as if Kai has managed to lose even more weight over night, but Bryan already knows that Kai will clam shut when confronted about it.
'Maybe it is just all of the stress regarding Ana; Lord, I hope so.'
Bryan walks into the cubicle, Kai immediately looking up at him before turning his attention back to Ana, Kai not saying a single word to him but he takes no offence to this because this is just how he knows Kai. Bryan comes to stand right next to Kai and he also turns his attention towards Ana while also feeling a little nervous because he is almost certain that she will recognise him immediately in his nurse's uniform the moment she has regained all of her senses, and he is not certain he wants Kai to find out that he was the one who trained his precious 'Mya'; that would just open up a whole can of unwanted worms, and it will not end pretty for any of them.
"Still nothing?" Bryan asks while he keeps his attention focused on Ana as he crosses his arms in front of his chest.
Kai shakes his head from side to side, "Valentin said it will take some time, but I don't care; I will remain here until she is fully awake."
"Do you want some coffee or something, kiddo, because you must be thirsty by now?"
Kai smirks and finally looks up at Sevastyan, their eyes meeting, "I don't suppose you have a bottle of vodka with you somewhere?"
Bryan also smirks to this because he also won't mind to have a few shots of vodka right now, "Sorry, kiddo, I'm all out."
"Hn," Kai says and crosses his arms in front of his chest, "that's too bad because I could have used some alcohol right now."
"You and be both, kiddo; what do you say we knock a few back later tonight, if you are up for it?"
"Just say when and where, Sevastyan; I have a feeling that I am going to need it as soon as Mya wakes up."
"I'll let you know later on; so, would you like a caffeine fix or what, seeing as you can't get your nicotine or alcohol fix?"
Kai silently nods his head to this, Bryan not saying anything else to this as he quietly makes his way out of the cubicle, he already looking forward to spending some time with Kai tonight.
Sure, he may have trained Ana to kill Kai and he had no qualms about her killing Kai, but it does not mean that he ever stopped caring for Kai, and yes, at that time he was still under the impression that Kai and Tala had ordered his and Sergei's executions, but even despite of that, he always cared for the Hiwatari prodigy; Kai always was like the little brother he never had and he is still fond of Kai, even if Kai is most likely going to keep Ana away from him forever, but is does not upset him that much because he has no doubt that Kai still loves Ana very much, so young Kai deserves to be loved back, even if it is by the only woman he has ever loved. He just has to promise to keep Ana happy all the time then everything will be 'hunky dory' as the saying goes.
Kai leans forward into his chair and takes Mya's limp right hand that is still in a cast into both of his hands and places a gentle kiss on top of the cast before looking at her sleeping face once more, "Mya, can you hear me?" he asks softly and holds his breath but to his disappointment, there is no movement from Mya, Kai releasing the breath he was holding while he still holds on to Mya's limp hand.
"I wish you would wake up already, Mi Amor, we have so much to talk about and unfortunately time is not our side. I want to make up for all that I have done to you, Mya, and I want to show you how much I love you, but in order for me to do that, I need you to wake up. Please, please, Mya, I beg of you, please wake up," but still, no reaction from Mya no matter how much he begs.
Kai says nothing else as he continues to hold Mya's hand in his own two hands, he only lowering his head and closes his eyes while his mind starts to drift to all types of places.
He is not certain how long he has been sitting in this position, but by the time he lifts his head, Sevastyan is there with the cup of coffee, which the burly man places on the counter and after giving Kai a silent nod, he leaves the cubicle.
Kai is thankful for the coffee, but with his nerves, he wonders if he will be able to keep it down. He releases his hold on Mya's hand and stands up to retrieve the cup and after inhaling the wonderful and strong aroma of the coffee, he takes a sip and now he is actually thankful for Sevastyan for bringing the coffee because it is actually a damn good cup of coffee.
Kai continues to hold the cup and moves to go and stand in front of the window that is overlooking the back garden of the hospital, and with the cup in his right hand and his left hand in the pocket of his pants, his mind once more drifts to another world, this time it being a world where Mya and he are happy once more.

Kai takes a sip of his juice before looking down at his watch, he seeing that the time is now 14:30, and he thinks to himself that it is a good thing he agreed to have Vera move all of his appointments because Mya still has not moved and he cannot understand why?
'Maybe she has brain damage, but Valentin assured me that according to all of the scans, there is nothing that indicates any form of brain damage, and Valentin told me that I should be a bit more patient; some patients take longer than others to wake and it seems that Mya is one of those that are taking longer than others to wake up.'
Tala and Ray were here about one 'o clock after Kai called Ray and told him that Mya will be waking up today because Valentin has stopped administering the drugs to keep her in the medically induced coma, and Ray literally squealed like a girl over the phone when Kai told him this and then he immediately bombarded Kai with all types of questions, questions like whether she has moved yet or has she made even the slightest noise, and with huge disappointment, Kai had to inform him that there has not been any movement whatsoever from Mya.
At least Tala and Ray had brought him lunch and something to drink which Kai is grateful for, but due to his nervousness, he has not touched his lunch, although he did drink the water and energy drink and right now he is slowly enjoying the juice, all while standing in front of the window once more and again looking out at the back yard of the hospital.
As Kai continues to stand in front of the window, he misses the slight movement behind Mya's eyelids, it clearly showing her eyes moving from side to side before the movement stops.
About half a minute passes before her eyes start to flutter and it seems as if Mya is battling to stay awake, as if the simple task of opening her eyes is the most difficult thing she has ever had to do, but it seems that she is going to see it through seeing as she continues to flutter her eyes until they finally manage to open, even if it is halfway, and the first thing that she sees is a white ceiling, she not certain where she is right now but before she can ponder on it too much, her eyes close once more as she has finally lost the battle of keeping her eyes open, but she does not fall into unconsciousness and all of a sudden is aware of pain resonating all over her body and an involuntary groan escapes her.
Kai immediately hears this and quickly turns around and rushes to Mya's bedside where he takes her right hand's fingers into both of his hands while looking at her face, and he can clearly see how she is frowning, which means she is awake, Mya is finally awake!
"Mya, hey, can you hear me? It's Kai, if you can hear me, move your fingers," and to Kai's shock and relief, she touches his hands with her fingers and he suddenly can't stop the smile from forming on his face because his precious Mya is finally awake, she is awake and she is fine.
"How do you feel, do you need anything?" Kai asks as he continues to hold Mya's hand in his hands while having his full focus on her because he does not want to miss a single second of this wonderful moment.
Mya groans again while trying to move her body, but her entire body is in pain with even the slightest movement and she cannot understand why she is in so much pain right now.
"Pa...pain..." is all that Mya mutters while she continues to frown and squeeze Kai's hand with her fingers as pain continues to rush through her entire body.
"I'll call a nurse so that she can get Valentin for you, Mi Amor," Kai says and he removes his left hand from holding her hand and presses the call button so that any nurse can come and assist them and fortunately they do not have to wait long before a nurse comes walking in.
"How can I help you, Mr Hiwatari?" she asks as she looks at Kai first and then at Mya, she immediately seeing that Mya has awoken, and she at once comes walking into the room.
"Call Dr Valentin; Mya just woke up and she is complaining about being in pain," Kai says while he keeps his focus on Mya, he not even glancing into the direction of the nurse.
"I'll go and get him immediately, Mr Hiwatari," and she quickly leaves the cubicle, Kai not paying the nurse anymore attention.
Kai places his left hand on top of Mya's head and gently starts to stroke her hair, all while trying to keep her calm, "Valentin is coming, Mi Amor, and he will take away all of your pain, I promise."
Mya again tries to move but again is immense pain felt all over her body and she cannot understand where it is coming from, and she also has no idea where she is; all she knows is that Kai is here with her and even though she has no idea where she is or why she is in so much pain, she is certain that she does not want Kai here with her right now, she does not want him to hold her hand, and the more she is becoming aware of her surroundings, the more she feels certain about wanting Kai away from her.
She can feel how the hate is slowly starting to replace the pain within her body, she also not certain where all of the hate is coming from, but she is not going to ignore it, and so, with A LOT of effort, she manages to pull her hand from Kai's grasp and places it on her stomach area instead.
Kai frowns to this but he does not take hold her hand, and suddenly a horrible feeling starts to form in the pit of his stomach about why she had pulled her hand away, 'She remembers what I did to her.'
"Mi Amor, it is me, Kai, don't you remember me?"
"Pe...pe...perfectly, now...ge...get...out," Mya says with a lot of effort, and after saying this, she again frowns as another wave of pain courses through her entire body.
A wave of pain also starts to course through Kai's body, but it is not the same pain as Mya is experiencing, and his pain is stemming from his heart, not bodily wounds.
"Mya, please, I want to stay here with you."
"No," and before Mya can say anything else, Valentin and the nurse comes walking in, the elder doctor with a huge smile on his face.
"Welcome back, Mya, my dear, how are you feeling?" Valentin asks in a cheerful voice while he comes to stand on the left side of her bed, Mya only slowly shaking her head from side to side to indicate that she is not feeling good.
"Very well, I am just quickly going to examine you, my dear, and then give you something for the pain, alright?" and the elder doctor only receives a single silent nod from Mya to indicate that she is fine with the examination.
Valentin looks at Kai and he can see that Kai suddenly looks pale and this also immediately worries him giving Kai's health condition, "You okay, Kai?" he asks in a concerned tone of voice to which Kai also silently nods at but he says nothing else.
"Okay, if you say so, but you will tell me if you are starting to feel unwell, right, Kai?"
"Yeah, but I am fine for now, Valentin."
"Okay, Kai, but if you won't mind, will you please step outside for a short while I examine Mya?"
Kai looks at Valentin and then at Mya and to his shock, his 'ex-girlfriend' is suddenly glaring at him through half open eyelids and there is no doubt that she wants him gone and with a defeated heart and mind, he looks back at Valentin and silently nods his head before making his way out of the cubicle and hears the curtains close behind him.
Kai leans against the thick cubicle glass walls and crosses his arms in front of his chest while feeling like he can die on the inside right now because what he had feared has become a reality: Mya hates him and she remembers what he had done to her, and now he has no doubt in his mind that she must have cursed his existence the entire time she was being held hostage by Boris, which means that the hate and pain he had caused her on that godforsaken night must have festered in her heart those two weeks which has without a doubt left a permanent mark in her heart and mind, if that glare is anything to go by.
'She hates me, I have completely lost Mya, my precious Ana, and it is all my fault.'
Kai is suddenly so lost in his own agony that he loses all concept of time and of his surroundings as he starts to get pulled down into this black pit of anguish, and all of that being caused by a few words and a look, a glare, from his now former lover, and just thinking about Mya as his former lover makes his heart feel like it is being clenched by a fist made of thousands of stainless steel spikes, and each and every stake is heated with such a heat that it melts anything that it comes into contact with, so he is currently experiencing a pain like no other; the only other pain he can compare this to is to that night when he had held Mya's dying body against his own body, and he never ever wanted to experience that horrendous pain again, and yet here he is, in pain once more and this time it is stemming from a very much alive Mya.
Bryan comes walking into the ICU and it does not take long for him to spot Kai leaning against the glass wall and just looking at Kai, one can see that something horrible has just happened, and suddenly Bryan starts to feel all panicky on the inside because something must have happened to Ana, Bryan immediately walking over to Kai in a rush.
"Hey, you okay, kid, what's happening, you look like shit," Bryan says while trying to sound as calm as he possibly can be, but the fact that the curtains to Ana's cubicle is drawn is making it slightly difficult to be calm as panic is coursing through his body.
Kai slowly lifts his head and looks at Bryan, he not even trying to hide the tears that are forming in his eyes, "She is fine, but she hates me, Sevastyan, Mya hates me with every fibre within her body and it is all my fault."
Bryan can hear how utterly defeated Kai sounds right now, and yes, he is very happy that Ana is fine, but he also feels sorry for Kai, the mob boss without a doubt suffering a horrible broken heart right now, which raises the question, 'what did Ana say to Kai to have him convinced that Ana hates him?'

Mya continues to lie patiently while Valentin checks her vitals and listens to her heart and lungs and the whole nine, and while she is silently doing this, her mind drifts back to seeing Kai just a while back. She hates that man so much, much more than she hated him after she found out that he was the one who had murdered her family, and she never wants to see him ever again.
She still has no idea how she got here in this hospital bed, but all she knows is that she does not want Kai near her. She still feels horrible and is in so much pain and the last real thing that she remembers is Boris looking at her with no expression on his face while he told her that it was never personal, but her death will be to his advantage.
Mya is brought out of her thoughts when Valentin calls her name, "Yeah?"
"You are getting better by the minute, my dear, which is really good news. Kai would be so happy to hear this."
"I want to be alone, Valentin, please; I don't want any visitors," Mya says, she not even thinking of commenting on her health that is improving because she does not care about that; she still has no idea how she ended up in hospital anyway.
Valentin makes nothing of this and just smiles, "Anything for you, my dear; the pain medication will knock you out so that you can sleep peacefully, but I will inform the nursing staff to withhold all visitors until you are better, is that okay?"
Mya nods her head to this and she can already feel how the pain is subsiding and how an euphoric feeling is slowly starting to take over, 'Thank God for these drugs,' she thinks to herself and the last thing she sees is Valentin's elder face smiling down at her while telling her to get some rest before unconsciousness finally takes over.
Valentin looks at Mya one last time and feeling satisfied with the progress, he indicates to the nurse to open up the curtains, he looking directly into Kai's eyes on the other side of the glass walls and he can already see how concerned Kai is about his Mya.
Valentin quickly makes his way out of the cubicle and before Kai can go in, he stops the young business mogul, "She is resting now, Kai, and she asked to not be disturbed, which means you can also go and rest now, my boy. Your health is also not the best, so I suggest you get some rest, okay?"
Kai feels so defeated knowing that Mya has asked not to be disturbed, which actually means she does not want to see him which is again his fault, and yes, he can feel his body is begging for some rest, but how can he rest when his mind is constantly with Mya?
"She is doing fine, Kai, she is improving much faster so that can only mean good things; go home and go rest because hanging around here would do neither you or Mya any good, and that is doctor's orders, Kai."
Kai keeps his arms crossed in front of his chest and gives a silent nod with his head and after glancing at Mya's sleeping form, he makes his way towards the exit of the ICU, he not even looking into Sevastyan's direction.
Bryan follows Kai with his eyes and even though he does not know what Valentin had said to him, it must have been something Kai did not want to hear because his body language is literally screaming sadness. Valentin also leaves the ICU shortly after Kai, and Bryan takes this as his cue to go and see Ana, he just so relieved that she has finally woken up.
He comes to standstill right next to her bed and just looks down at her, she looking like the real sleeping beauty. Without thinking about it, he gently brushes her hair with his hand while keeping his eyes on her, "Get better sweetness, because we all miss you, especially Kai, the guy truly is broken over your condition and it would mean the world to him if you can get out of this hospital bed, so just get better, please."
Bryan looks up and after seeing that no one can see him, he leans down and places a chaste kiss on Ana's forehead before straightening back up, his hand still brushing her hair.
He looks at her a few seconds more before removing his hand and he makes his way out of the room. He wants to go and see Kai but knowing the mob boss, the guy would most likely be want to left alone; that is how Kai was after all, he liked to deal with his things on his own and Bryan doubts that that has changed about Kai. This also means his plans on having drinks with Kai later on is most likely postponed, which is fine; whatever Kai needs to help him get through this.
'Back to work, I guess,' Bryan thinks to himself in a joking manner seeing as he can walk away from here anytime he wants to and remove any trace of his 'existence' here, but surprisingly, he kind of enjoys it here and he truly has gained some experience here which he knows will help him in the future.

"Scream all you want, my dear Mya, because no one will come for you; not your friends, not your colleagues and most certainly not your lover because by the looks of it, he has abandoned you, isn't that so, my dear sweet Mya?" Boris taunts as he gently brushes her bruised cheek and even though she wants to pull away, she cannot because her body is beyond broken and she has no more strength left to fight.
She cannot take any more of this torture; she has no concept of time, whether it is day or night and whether she has been here only days or if it is already weeks that have gone by, and she is certain that no one knows where she is.
Everyone must know by now that Kai has dumped her like yesterday's trash, so they will most likely take this disappearing act of hers as her getting away from all of the heartbreak when she in fact has been kidnapped.
"Ppp...please...let me...go," Mya manages to say in a broken tone of voice, her voice hoarse from lack of water and she can feel how some parts of her body have already shut down due to the lack of food and water, and she has no idea how much longer she will be able to hold on to life before she completely gives up and stops fighting to stay alive.
Boris starts to laugh like a maniac and it abruptly stops just as he punches her in the face with his fist, her body swinging from side to side like a pendulum due to the impact, and all that she can do is to whimper in pain.
"You are not leaving this place alive, my dear, I already explained that to you. Your blood will make Hiwatari pay for what he has done to me, and that is the only way. If you want someone to blame, blame that lover of yours; this is his fault, this is his father and grandfather's fault, so blame the Hiwatari men for your misfortune, Mya. You are just the unfortunate pawn that got caught up in this game of chess in this beautiful world of crime of ours, and there is nothing you can do about it. I need your death to teach Kai a painful lesson before I finally finish him off too, FOR GOOD. He must feel what I had felt, how it had felt losing the only thing that mattered to me in this world, and hopefully it will weaken him completely so that I can finish him off in a blaze of glory, so sorry, my dear, but I am not going to let you go."
Mya closes her eyes, she finally accepting her oncoming death, and Boris is right: only Kai is to blame for this, this is all his fault.
'I hate you, Kai, I hate you so much right now. Not only did you take away my family, but now I am also going to die because of you, you truly are a cancer that spreads and kills everything you come into contact with. I hate you so, so much, Kai! I hate you!' and this is the last thing she is able to think before unconsciousness finally claims her.
Mya gasps and bucks her entire body while her eyes shoot open wide with fear, pain once more coursing through her body while panic covers her like a thermal blanket. Her breathing is erratic and she can feel how her heart is beating irregularly within her chest, it actually being quite painful and the fact that she is greeted with a dark room just worsens the condition because she suddenly realises that she is back in that horrible cell, that she is back with Boris and that he is going to continue to torture and torment her.
"Ssshhhhh, sweetness, it is okay, calm down, you are safe," Mya hears beside her and at first she does not recognise the person that is standing beside her, she only seeing a large silhouette as the burly man keeps a gentle hand on her shoulder in an attempt to calm her and to let her know that she is safe.
Mya takes some time to find her bearings, she still very confused about where she is and about what had happened, and does not address the stranger just yet, not until she figures out what is going on.
"Relax, sweetness, no one is going to hurt you again, Boris is gone, I promise," Bryan says in a calm voice, he 100% certain that Ana must have had a horrible nightmare about her torturing which had caused her to wake up in that startled manner.
"Bryan?" Mya asks softly, she not certain whether she is having another dream or whether this is real, whether Bryan is really here with her, "Is it really you, Bryan?"
"Yeah, it is me, sweetness. You are in hospital where they are taking good care of you, so you can calm down because no one is going to hurt you, I promise."
Mya says nothing and just pulls at Bryan's clothing to beckon him closer, the burly man obeying her and soon he can feel how she weakly tries to wrap her arms around him, but seeing as she cannot due to her weakened muscles, Bryan takes the initiative and instead wraps his arms around her where he gently lifts her upper body from the pillows while holding her close to his body, Mya very thankful for this because the moment she feels his strong arms around her, she feels safe, this being the first time in a long time that she feels so safe again, and that all thanks to her former lover.
She is still not certain whether this is real or not, but for now is she just going to enjoy this moment.
Bryan knows he should feel guilty but he just cannot bring him so far, he relishing this moment where he has his sweetness in his arms once more, and that all while Kai must be sitting at home feeling miserable because Ana does not want to see him.
'Sorry, kiddo, but this is my moment to enjoy,' is all that Bryan thinks to himself while he pulls Ana even closer to him, he suddenly feeling very possessive over her for so many reasons right now, 90% of them being selfish reasons.
"I can't believe you are here, my love, that you are actually here," Mya says softly, she now convinced that Bryan is really here because she can smell him, that manly cologne of his that he always wore that always drove her senses crazy, and no memory will ever be able to feel so real, so Bryan really is here with her.
"Only for you, sweetness; I just had to be here with you, I just had to make sure that you are in safe hands and that you are being taken care of."
Mya pulls away from Bryan and he allows her to lie back down but he still holds her hand in his, even though it is the right hand that is still in a cast. It may be dark in the cubicle but at least there is some light shining in through, it being enough for the two former lovers to look at each other.
"Do you know what happened, Bryan, do you know how I got here?"
Bryan knows that this is the time where he can either tell Ana the truth about Kai risking his own life to save her or he can resort to Sevastyan and act selfishly and pretend to be the hero, but Bryan already knows deep down what route he is going to take, and it is not the one Sevastyan would have taken.
"Kai rescued you, sweetness," and to this she immediately snorts and temporarily turns her head away from Bryan, Mya suddenly feeling an intense hate course through her entire body once more upon hearing Kai's name.
"That is a little too hard to believe, Bryan," and the burly man can hear the venom in Ana's voice, it clear that she hates Kai with every fibre within her body, which is probably understandable, but now Bryan can't help but feel sympathy towards Kai because he suddenly thinks back to how utterly defeated Kai had looked after Ana woke up and that she did not want to see him.
There is no denying that Kai loves this woman very much, but does she feel only hate towards him or is the love that she had felt for Kai still buried deep within her and just waiting to be awakened one more?
"He did, sweetness, and he almost didn't make it. It was only sheer luck that I had found him and took him to safety otherwise he would have bled himself to death after getting stabbed by Boris. I know it is hard to believe, sweetness, but Kai loves you very much."
Mya turns her head back towards Bryan, she only focused on one thing after hearing all of what Bryan has just said, "You rescued Kai? What the hell is wrong with you, Bryan? You should have left him to die there, Lord knows he deserves worse than that, but still, you should not have saved him. The bastard should have died there or better yet, Boris should have stabbed him through the heart because that way Kai would have died without even the slightest chance of being saved."
Bryan cannot believe what he is currently hearing, although he can understand where Ana is coming from but still, there was a time where he could see in her eyes how she felt towards Kai and it was not hate, it was love, but now hearing her speak like this just shows him how much the break up had really hurt her. Kai wanted to protect her by breaking her heart and not only did it not help, it seems that Ana truly does hate him if her words are anything to go by, so the break up was actually for nothing.
"I couldn't leave him there sweetness; if it is any consolation, Boris is dead and he died by Kai's hand. Kai had decapitated his head and right now the head is floating in a jar of alcohol back at Feniks manor, so at least you know that Boris will never try to get to you again."
"Pfft, I don't give two shits about whether Boris survived or not; I just wish that he had at least killed Kai before he also died. He truly was a useless crime boss."
Bryan suddenly realises that there is just no talking to this Ana because her soul, heart and mind is filled with hate, and there simply is no way in reasoning with a person who is in such a state. All he can do now is hope that she will come around and realise that somewhere deep inside that she still loves Kai; she just needs a little more convincing.
Bryan pulls away from Ana and he can see how she looks up at him and he is already certain that she has a questioning look on her face on where he is going, "You have to get some rest, sweetness; do you need anything for pain?"
"No, I'm fine, but you will be back right?"
Bryan laughs light heartedly to this, "Of course, sweetness, I am after all an employee here, and that's all thanks to Yurik who managed to get me into the system so that I can be with you, and just so you know, I go by the name of Dmitri, sweetness, you personal male nurse at your service," Bryan bowing to this in a joking manner, his heart immediately picking up pace when he hears Ana laugh softly to this because he has missed that laugh of hers.
Bryan straightens himself and leans over Ana where he places a chaste kiss on her forehead, "I have missed hearing you laugh, sweetness," he says softly to her while caressing her left cheek with his right hand, "Don't ever stop laughing, always find a reason to keep on laughing, sweetness, promise me, okay?"
Mya places her left hand on top of Bryan's hand that is still caressing her cheek, "I promise, my love."
Bryan gives her a last kiss on her head before completely pulling away and stepping away from Ana's bed, "I will see you tomorrow, sweetness; you need to rest so that your body can recover fully, and promise me that you will take care of yourself, okay?"
Mya nods her head to this, "I promise, and please don't forget to come and visit me seeing as you are working here now."
Bryan smiles to this even though Ana cannot see it, "I will see you in the morning, sweetness, okay?" and then he finally leaves the room all while feeling Ana's eyes on him until he is completely out of sight.
Just knowing that Bryan is here makes her feel much calmer because at least she knows with certainty that she has one person in this world that truly cares about her, despite what Bryan had said about Kai risking his own life to rescue her.
'It was his fault in the first place that I was in that situation. If he did not break up with me, Boris and his goons would not have gotten a hold of me, and yes, I know Boris had explained to me the real reason of why I was kidnapped and that it was in fact not Kai's fault, I still hate him. I should continue hating him for all that he has done to me and I will continue hating him. Kai might as well have died by Boris's hand because he is dead to me.'

Two days have already passed since Mya woke up from her induced coma and Kai has not set foot in her room in those two days, this hurting the business mogul every second of every minute that passes by, but he still believes that it was for the best to give her some space to find her bearings after what she has been through.
Ray, Alisia and Tala have already visited her with every visiting time and Ray said that the first day, Mya was still kind out of it and she seemed rather nervous, like someone is going to attack her any minute which just shows what hell Boris had put her through for her to still feel so on edge.
By the second day she was back to her old self, although according to Ray, they could all see something has changed within Mya and not for the better; it is almost as if she has this bitterness within her soul, like she is harbouring a burning hate within her soul, and even though Ray and the others think that it is towards Boris, Kai knows better and he knows that it is because of him, because he can still remember that glare she gave him the moment she woke up and looked at him, not to mention what she had said to him.
It still hurts like a bitch, but Kai has decided that today is the day where he is going to start fighting for Mya's love and he is not going to give up without a proper fight. He has made her fall in love with him before and he can do it again; the only difference is that this time he does not have all the time in the world so he is going to need to find a strategy that will work in the least amount of time.
Kai is currently making his way towards the ICU, he incredibly anxious in seeing Mya again; he knows that it is customary to bring flowers but he is not that type of guy and also, the ICU does not allow flowers or any other foods or drinks so he is just bringing his good old self and he can only hope that Mya will appreciate it.
Kai enters the ICU after sanitizing his hands and makes his way towards Mya's cubicle; however, as he approaches her cubicle, he notices a figure standing in front of her bed, it being Sevastyan and at once jealousy takes over within him because what business does Sevastyan have with Mya, Kai quickly pushing those thoughts aside because he knows that there is no possible way Sevastyan would have an interest in HIS Mya and Kai blames the temporary possessiveness and jealousy on normal cave man behaviour.
Kai quietly enters the cubicle and he does not say a word until he is right next to Sevastyan and he looks over at Mya to see that she is sleeping, much to his disappointment.
Bryan silently curses himself within his mind for being so careless and allowing Kai to catch him ogling his girlfriend, but he shows no reaction to this.
"What are you doing here, Sevastyan?"
Bryan tries to play it cool and crosses his arms in front of his chest while trying to pretend to look at Mya with a bored look on his face, "I'm just trying to figure out how this woman could bring the mighty Kai Hiwatari down on to his knees and making him act like a submissive little bitch."
Kai chuckles to this and also crosses his arms in front of his chest while he keeps his attention on the sleeping Mya, "You won't find your answer with her asleep, Sevastyan."
No more words are shared between the two men, Bryan only smirking at Kai and nodding his head once before he makes his way out of the cubicle so that he can leave Kai alone with 'Mya', Bryan still not able to believe that Kai nearly caught him red handed. What if he and Ana were conversing, how was he going to explain that shit to Kai? Ana clearly wants nothing to do with Kai, she has made that pretty clear on more than one occasion so he is not sure how Kai is going to handle it when Ana is going to try and slice him apart with her tongue.
'Man, am I glad that I am not in your shoes right now, kiddo,' Bryan thinks to himself as he heads towards the nurse's station and makes himself comfortable before glancing at Ana's cubicle one last time.
Kai keeps his focus on Mya, she at least looking much better than she had a few days ago; he can still see the bandages and bruises on her body as well as the cast around her right wrist but she truly does look much better, even her skin has gotten back some of its colour which proves that she is getting better every day, something Kai is very happy about.
Kai spots the chair in the corner and pulls it closer towards the bed where he takes a seat right next to Mya, he intent on sitting here for the entire hour, even if it means she sleeps that entire time; just being in her presence is more than enough for him, even though he would have liked to talk to her but this is just as good.
Kai has already informed the others that both the afternoon and evening visiting hour is reserved for him so they should not even think about coming to visit her because he wants those two hours alone with her.
He has called Valentin this morning to enquire about Mya's health and Valentin had said that if Mya continues to recover at the rate she does right now, she will be out of the ICU and into a normal ward in about three days' time, something Kai is already looking forward because the hours in the normal ward are much more lenient and he will be able to spend more time with Mya.
Kai is actually very tired and he would give anything just to sleep for a few hours, or even for a couple of days, his body showing him every day that it is shutting down, that his energy is slowly slipping away from him but he has to make things right with Mya, he has to prove to her that he never stopped loving her, even though he ripped her heart into pieces; she is his only reason for living now, it no longer being his company or The Chernyy Feniks, only her.
Kai looks down at his watch and sees that he has already been here 20 minutes but it does not feel that long; if he didn't know any better, he would have thought that he has not even been here for 5 minutes, but it just goes to show how caught up he is within his own mind.
Kai looks over at Mya and sees that she is still sleeping and by the looks of it, he doubts she will wake up anytime soon, but he is going to stay here until visiting time is over and then he will come again, and he will come every day for as long as Mya is here because he is determined to show her that he wants to fix things with her, that he both wants and needs her in his life.
Kai Hiwatari is a stubborn ass and he will show her just how stubborn he can be.

Kai is sitting in his car and looks down at his watch and he sees that it is still an entire half an hour before the visiting hours of the evening shift begins; it may as well have been an entire day with how impatient Kai is currently feeling.
Mya did not wake up this afternoon so he hopes that she is awake now and that she will stay awake until he leaves because he is still determined to be a stubborn ass in regards to their relationship.
Kai groans when he again looks down at his watch and sees that not even a minute has passed and so, he removes a cigarette and lights it while making himself comfortable within his car seat, he silently wondering to himself what Mya is currently doing now, whether she is still cursing his existence or if she is even thinking about him, maybe she is reliving her horrible experience with Boris which Kai hopes is not the case because then she will most likely be in a foul mood when he sees her.

What Kai does not know is that Mya is not alone, and that Bryan, aka 'Sevastyan' is currently with her and she is not completely in a foul mood, just tired and slightly irritated, she at least being civil to Bryan.
Bryan knows that Kai is going to be here shortly, so he is trying his best to get Ana into a calm mental state so that she can least talk to the guy because he could see how defeated Kai looked when he walked out of her cubicle after visiting time was over this afternoon, and all Kai said that was that she is still asleep, and Bryan knows that Kai was eager to talk to Ana, so hopefully he will get his chance tonight.
"Can I get you anything else, sweetness?"
Mya shakes her head, "Nah, I am fine, Bryan; I still cannot get over the fact that you are actually posing as a nurse, and SUCCEEDING at it. Yurik and Grigory must be teasing you constantly about it."
Bryan chuckles to this, "You would be surprised to hear that they both are actually thinking about getting into this field themselves."
"Seriously? Wow, I always pictured you guys to continue this rugged work of yours."
"I am most definitely going to continue with the rugged word, sweetness; sick people just are not for me, so that is why as soon as you are all better and I am convinced that you will be fine, Dmitri Kuznetsov will no longer exist, all proof of existence of him gone like it never existed in the first place."
"Won't you miss it?"
"Yeah, but I always knew it would be temporary, and besides, were it not for all of this shit going down, I never would have been here in the first place," and Bryan immediately sees how Ana tenses, he realising too late that he has just said the wrong thing seeing as Ana is still going through hell after this entire ordeal with what Boris had done to her, "Shit, sorry, sweetness, I didn't mean..." but he is halted in his apology when she raises a hand to stop him and to show that it is fine.
"I can't deny it all the time, Bryan; what happened was hell, but I survived it and that is a huge positive, so I should just focus on that, and I know over time things will get better, just not right now."
Bryan feels sorry for all Ana had gone through and it makes him hate Boris all over again, but he too has to let go of the past; Ana is right, she is alive and that is all that matters right now. However, there still is the factor of Kai, and Bryan realises that Kai will be here any minute now, so he at least wants to test the waters.
"And what about you and Kai, sweetness?"
"What about us, Bryan? As far as I am concerned, there is no me and Kai and there never will be again," Bryan clearly hearing the venom within her voice as she crosses her arms in front of her chest in a defensive manner, she suddenly resembling a female Kai so much that it is almost scary.
"He will be both disappointed and hurt to hear that, sweetness."
"Hn, not my problem," and again Bryan cannot believe just how similar Ana is to Kai right now, it almost being uncanny but he says nothing to this.
Bryan realises that it is time for him to go because he does not want Kai to catch him with Ana again like this afternoon, and so he sighs and turns away from Ana's bedside and heads towards the door, "Just so you know, Kai was here this afternoon, sweetness, and he will be here shortly, so at least talk to him somewhat or at least listen."
Mya knows by now how Kai and Bryan 'discovered' each other and she is not happy about it, not one bit because this sudden concern that Bryan has for Kai is pissing her off, and she wishes that she could keep Bryan away from Kai because that heartless bastard deserves no one and nothing in this world, not even Bryan's friendship.
"I don't have to listen to anything he has to say, and I also don't have to talk to him because I have nothing to say to him."
Bryan sees that he is not going to win this round, "See you later, sweetness," and then leaves the cubicle, he not even giving her a chance to say something to that.
Mya looks at Bryan's back as he leaves, she suddenly furious at him for so many reason, and all of them are uncalled for. She is emotionally going through hell, and also mentally, and she just wants to lash out at everyone and everything, and if Kai is on his way to see her, he will be the perfect candidate seeing as all of this is his fault; well, not technically, but he does not have to know that.

Kai looks up at the number of floors within the elevator, he in here with a few other people who is also going to go and visit loved ones in the ICU, but he does not care about them. They finally reach the floor of the ICU after a short ride and Kai is the first to leave so that he can get away from the others.
He enters through the doors of the ICU after sterilizing his hands, he and Sevastyan only nodding their heads at each other as he makes his way towards Mya's cubicle, his heart beating nervously with every step that he takes towards it and when he enters the doorway, he looks directly into Mya's spring green coloured eyes and he suddenly forgets how to breath.
"What do you want, Kai?" she asks coldly without even greeting him, her body language making it clear that she does not want to see him.
Kai shakes it off and pretends to not be affected by her cold attitude and enters the cubicle and comes to a standstill right next to her bed, she still glaring at him, her arms crossed in front of her chest.
"I came to see you, Mya," Kai using her name because he is certain she would not like to hear her pet name right now.
"Well, I don't want to see you so you can see yourself out, Kai," and then she turns away from him, her arms still crossed in front of her chest.
"Too bad, Mya, because I have a whole hour to be here and there is nothing you can do about it. I want to see you and I will stay here, whether you like it or not."
Mya snaps her head into his direction and glares at him, "I hate you, Kai, and I wish that Boris had stabbed you through the heart so that you can be dead right now."
Kai suddenly feels hurt by her statement but he quickly reminds himself that he himself had hurt her way worse, so her anger and hate towards him is justified, but he is now even more determined to show her that she is his everything.
"I get why you feel like that, Mya, seeing as how I broke your heart without any warning or any valid reason."
"And after you chased me out of your precious manor like some street mutt, Boris got his hands on me, so it is all your fault what happened to me, Kai, and I will never forgive you for that, never," and again, Mya knows that it is not Kai's fault and that Boris had just waited for the perfect opportunity which would have happened sooner or later, whether she and Kai were still together or not; her kidnapping was inevitable, but Kai does not have to know this.
"I know that I deserve all of your anger and hate, Mya, and I know I do not deserve your forgiveness, but I am truly sorry for what I had put you through and what you had to suffer through due to my own stupidity."
"Oh wow, and suddenly everything is right in the world because the great Kai Hiwatari has finally managed to apologise for something in his life," sarcasm dripping from every word that Mya says, "Your apology is hollow, Kai, just like that place in your chest where you are suppose to have a heart, because a man with a heart would never have hurt me the way you did, Kai."
"I never meant to hurt you, Mya, and I do have a heart, that is why I went after Boris with everything in me in order to get you back and then kill him for what he has done to you. I never stopped caring for you, Mya and I never will, no matter how much you hate me right now."
"Whatever, Kai; you only came to get me for your own selfish reasons, and that was to get to Boris; it was never about me, no matter how much you try to convince yourself about it. You can lie to yourself but not to me, Kai, and I know that you do not care for me, you never have."
"You're wrong, Mya, and I will prove it to you. Even though I know you despise my existence right now, I will not stop seeing you because I will fix things with you, I will prove to you that I never stopped caring for you and you will also realise it, so," Kai then moves to pull the chair closer and he takes a seat right next to Mya's bed where he proceeds to make himself comfortable by placing his hands behind his head and stretching his legs out in front of him and looks up at Mya, she glaring at him, "I am going to start now."
Kai can't believe that even though he can see how much Mya is pissed at him right now, the fact that she talked to him actually took away that horrible hurt within his heart and now he is going to bask in her presence, even if she wants to slit his throat right now.
'You will see, Mi Amor that I never stopped loving you, and I will prove it to you.'
Mya just huffs and snaps her head away from Kai while seething on the inside because of his arrogance, she already dreading every time he is going to come and visit because she honestly cannot deal with him right now seeing as her mind is so messed up, and with Kai here her time to recover mentally will take even longer seeing as he will just add to those messed up memories and to the hurt, which she doubts she has strength for.
'I just hope the asshole is bluffing and that he does not visit me every day, I really hope so.'

Unfortunately for Mya, Kai was not bluffing seeing as for the past two weeks he had visited her every day, three times a day and no matter how much she cursed him, insulted him, blamed him and called him all sorts of horrible names, he refused to back down.
Kai heard every insult being thrown his way, but he never took them to heart because he could always hear in her tone of voice that she was pissed and beyond angry, and even though she continuously claimed she hated him, he never picked up that hate within her voice. She glared at him constantly, but he never saw the hate in her eyes.
Kai can still remember the hate he had seen in her eyes the first time they had sparred and up until now, he has not seen that intense hate within her eyes, which proves that she does not hate him and as long as he does not see that type of hate in her eyes, he will continue to visit her and he will continue to take every insult that she throws his way, because he knows that deep down she does not mean those words.
Kai is currently standing at the window within Mya's room, he looking out of the window while having his arms crossed in front of his chest as he waits for Mya to come back from her session with the psychologist. Valentin had said that he has decided that Mya will have to see Dr Yana three times a week in the beginning and after that they will schedule her sessions to once a week because as long as Mya is suffering mentally, her body will also suffer.
According to Valentin, so far it seems that the sessions with the psychologist is working because Mya has less night terrors, and she has not had another anxiety attack, but she will still have to go for the sessions. Trauma like what she had experienced does not disappear overnight and Kai will stay by her side, even though she does not want him there.
Kai's heath is still deteriorating which does make him nervous because it lessens his time in winning Mya back, but a Hiwatari never stays down, he does not stay down and he is not about to stay down. He is not called the black phoenix of Russia for nothing, and he will again prove why he has received that name.
Just then Kai hears how Mya and the nurse enters her room, Kai immediately turning around to look at Mya but she does not even look at him, even though he knows that she has seen him stand by the window when she came in.
Mya gets back in bed and after the nurse makes sure that Mya has everything that she needs, she excuses her from the room and closes the door, Mya still not looking at Kai.
"How did the session go?" Kai asks as he moves towards the bed while still having his arms crossed in front of his chest.
Mya hears Kai come standing right next to her but she does not look at him; she knew he would be here when she came back, but today she has truly reached her limit. She hates him and today she will make it clear to him that she really, really does hate him and that she is done with him for good. She does not want Kai in her life, she is tired of having cancer in her life that continues to steal her joy, and it is time to cut the cancer out for good, to destroy it once and for all so that she can start enjoying life once more.
"Is there anything that I can get you, Mya?" Kai asks while he looks down at Mya and he suddenly starts to realise that there is something different about Mya today, her aura is not like the previous times, and he can't ignore the uneasy feeling and nervousness that is suddenly forming in the pit of his stomach.
"I don't need anything from you, Kai," Mya says softly as she rests her head against the pillow and turns to face the door for a few seconds before turning her head back to Kai, she looking him straight in the eye, she not missing the movement of Kai's body tensing the moment she looks into his eyes.
Kai can feel how his heart is starting to beat faster because this situation has just changed drastically and not in a good way; the moment she turned to look at him, Kai saw the hate in Mya's eyes, the hate that she had held for him in the beginning when he met her and now Kai knows for certain that Mya really does hate him, she does not even have to say it anymore because her eyes are showing it clearly.
Kai suddenly wishes that the earth could swallow him this very second and not due to embarrassment, but because he knows whatever Mya is about to say it going to hurt him so much right now, and this is mostly likely the very last time he will see her if that is what she wants.
There is no coming back from this.
"I only ask one thing of you, Kai, and that is to finally leave me alone, please," Mya not even showing her anger or hate through her voice seeing as she talks in a calm, yet somewhat tired, tone of voice, "If you care so much about me as you claim, you would respect my decision when I ask you to just stay away from me. I am done with you, Kai, and to be honest, I just wish you can go die somewhere so that I can know for certain that you will never ever bother me again, and then I can finally live my life in peace."
Kai gasps softly to his and uncrosses his arms, he feeling how all feel and blood has just disappeared from his body, "Mi Amor..."
"No, Kai, I am no longer that to you, so I would appreciate it if you would stop calling me that, please. This is what you wanted, was it not, just before Boris got his hands on me, so I don't understand why you are so adamant about us getting back together, and just so you know, I don't believe this crap about you coming to my rescue because of you caring; you just did it to put up a front to the others and to sooth that so-called conscious you claim to have, which I doubt you have."
"Mya, no, it is not like that, and you know it."
"No, Kai, I don't know. All I know is that one moment we were happy and in love and the next moment, you throw me out of your house, and you tell me that our relationship is over. I don't care about any other reason you have because it is a bunch of lies. I am honest when I say that you can die for all I care; in fact, I would prefer it because then I would finally have complete peace in my life without you there hounding me, Kai. You are a selfish person and you will stay one until the day you die, so just be selfless for once in your life, Kai, and think of others for a change, please."
Kai can't believe this, he has truly lost Mya and it is all his fault because of his damn pride. Should he be honest right now? No, because Mya would most likely tell him that this again just proves how selfish he is.
Is...is this really the end for them?
"Mya, please, don't do this, please," Kai pleads softly, he falling to his knees beside the bed and looking at her with a pleading look on his face, "We can start over, please. I will do anything you want, just name it and I will do it, please. This can't be the end."
Mya wants to roll her eyes at this, but she is just so emotionally drained from all that has happened to her this past month, and she is not certain how much more she can take. Today's session with Dr Yana was tougher than the rest because they went to her childhood and before she knew it, she was breaking down about what Kai had done to her and how she wanted revenge on him but instead she fell in love with him, and in the end he destroyed her world anyway, but instead of murdering her he ripped her heart from her chest.
It was never her plan to inform Dr Yana of who she really is, but at that time she was just so tired and she has finally reached her breaking point and even though it was not necessary, Dr Yana comforted her which Mya was grateful for. Dr Yana assured Mya that her secret is safe, not just because it is unethical, but also because she too understood that craving for revenge because her sister was also murdered a few years back and she too just wanted revenge, but she knew that she would never succeed seeing as she just did not have that drive, and Dr Yana commended Mya for her guts and her dedication to her plan and that she had stuck it out and that she even managed to forgive Kai for what he has done to her.
Mya knows that she hates Kai with every ounce of her being but not because of him murdering her family, but because he broke her heart, and that while she was convinced that they were so in love with each other and that they would spend the rest of the lives together; hell, they would have started working on a baby as soon as spring time started but it seems that it was just a game to Kai, and she will always hate Kai for this, for breaking her heart like this.
She still loves him and that is why she hates him so strongly, because she wants to kill the love she has for him and the only way to do that is to turn it into hate. There is after all a very thin line between love and hate.
"Kai, stop humiliating yourself like this and just leave already, please. I am done with you and I never want to see you ever again; I want to forget I ever met you, and I am going to start doing that as soon as you walk out that door. You say that you will do anything that I want? Well, I want you to leave me alone and to never bother me ever again. I am done with you, Kai, and I mean it, so please, just leave already," Mya turning her head away from Kai after saying this and closes her eyes.
Kai can feel how the tears want to start well up within his eyes, but he just can't bring himself to cry. He is literally on his knees, something his grandfather may have frowned upon, but this is before the woman that he loves, so Kai does not care who would have thought what about this. He is desperate; he does not want to lose Mya, he CANNOT lose her because what does he left in life then? If he does not have her by his side, what is the use of living then? Maybe he should do what she had said, maybe he should just go die then and be gone from her life forever.
Kai lowers his head and closes his eyes for a few seconds as he tries to convince himself that this has to be some horrible nightmare, that he is somewhere in a coma or something, but he knows that he won't be so lucky; this is real, this is the end of Mya and him.
He truly has lost Mya for good.
Kai opens up his eyes and looks at Mya, she still having her head turned away from him and so, with a body that suddenly feels like it has been turned to lead, Kai gets up and heads towards the door. He is not sure if he has to say anything and whether Mya would listen if he says anything.
Kai reaches the door and just as he is about to walk out, he turns towards her, deciding that he at least has to greet her to show her that he will respect her wishes and that he will leave her alone and disappear from her life, "I am sorry for all that I have put you through, Mya," Kai says softly and to his surprise, Mya opens her eyes and looks at him, but she says nothing, "I will do as you say and leave you alone and I will never bother you again. Just promise me that you will take care of yourself and always make sure that you are happy in life, no matter what."
Kai is not surprised to get no reaction from Mya and without saying anything else to his lost love, he leaves the room, respecting her wish and with every step that he takes away from her room is a step closer towards his oncoming death, because a life without Mya is just not worth a life living and he is about to prove it.
Mya keeps her eyes on the door where Kai has just walked through, there no expression on her face.
'Good bye, Kai.'

Bryan opens up the door that leads to the roof of the building of Hiwatari Enterprises and he is immediately met with a strong wind and the sound of Kai's helicopter starting up, he seeing Kai standing at the edge of the building and looking out at the world in front of him. Bryan tightens his black jacket around him and walks over to Kai, he still not sure as to why Kai wanted to see him here.
Kai has his hands within the pockets of his thick black trench coat while the wind continues to blow his hair but he is not bothered about this right now; with his broken heart, nothing can bother him right now. He hears footsteps behind him and he already knows that it is Sevastyan.
Bryan comes to a standstill a few feet behind Kai, he already knowing that Kai knows that he is here, and a few seconds of silence passes between the two of them, with Kai being the first to break it after some time.
"It sure is beautiful from up here, don't you think, Sevastyan?" Kai asks without looking at Bryan, the burly man taking a few steps closer until he is right next to Kai and also looks down at the world below them, the people on the ground suddenly resembling little ants that are all on their own mission in life.
"I won't say it's my favourite scene but yes, it is kind of beautiful; so why am I up here, kid? I honestly don't think that you called me here to admire the view, so what is going on?"
Kai chuckles as he keeps his view on the world below him, "I never could bullshit you, Sevastyan, and I am glad to see that it has not changed. No, I did not let you come here to admire the view; I called you here because I just wanted to say a few things to you, that's all."
"Never heard of a cell phone, kid?" Bryan says in a joking manner.
Again Kai chuckles, "No, Sevastyan, never, what is it, something that you put on bread?" Bryan just snorts to this but he can't help but to smirk to Kai's clever comeback.
Kai finally turns to face Sevastyan and Bryan immediately sees the immense sadness within Kai's eyes, and he immediately knows that something must have happened between Ana and him and he can't help but to feel bad for Kai's part, "What's wrong, kid, you look like shit."
Kai smirks back at him while the two of them look each other in the eye, "Just the pick-me-up that I needed for the day, Sevastyan, thanks," and Bryan just rolls his eyes to this but he keeps his face somewhat soft for Kai's part because he wants to know what is going on with Kai.
"Did something happen with you and Mya, Kai, because only a woman can make a man look like dog shit that has been stepped in."
Kai's smirk turns into a sad smile and he turns his attention back on to the world before him, he remaining silent for a few seconds before speaking once more, "Yeah; we are completely over and it is all my fault, and there is nothing I can do about it. I had screwed up when I broke her heart, and there is no way she will ever give me a chance to atone for my mistakes, and this is me finally accepting it after begging for a chance for almost three weeks. I have finally made peace with it and yes it sucks, but I just have to accept it that Mya and I over for good."
Bryan feels so sorry for Kai right now because he saw firsthand how much Kai truly loves Ana and even now, he can see how broken Kai is, and yes, he too still loves Ana with all his heart and soul and would not mind spending the rest of his days with Ana by his side, but he can't stand to see Kai in this manner; the kid does not deserve this heartache.
"What if someone goes and talks to that woman, you know, talks some sense into her head or something because it can't be over just like that, Kai, I refuse to accept it."
Kai again chuckles but this time it is more of a sarcastic chuckle, "Mya is just as stubborn as we are, Sevastyan, so no, getting someone talk to her about giving me a chance is not going to work, and I will also not allow someone to do that for me; I am a man that can do his own shit, and I don't need anyone to do it for me."
"So what are you going to do now, Kai?" Are you going to go find some good looking piece of ass and bang the shit of her or what?"
Kai shakes his head from side to side, "The old me would have been inside of another woman by now but no, I am going to go home now and pour myself a stiff drink and just wallow in my own sadness."
"Jesus, love really has changed you, hasn't it?"
Kai looks at Bryan once more and again just smirks, "I still don't regret falling in love with her," and then Kai turns away from the edge and places his right hand on Bryan's right shoulder, neither of them looking each other in the eye, "If I could give you some advice, Sevastyan, fight for that one of a kind woman you had and continue to love her with your entire existence, so that your life can start making sense again because love truly gives life a whole different meaning," and with a single squeeze to his shoulder, Kai releases Bryan's shoulder and starts walking towards the helicopter that is ready for lift off.
Bryan turns around and watches how Kai gets into the helicopter and how the door closes behind him, the two men making eye contact once more, 'Even if you had lost her, Kai, I still cannot fight for her; she is still the same woman we both are currently pining over right now, but I promise you that I will try my best to make things better between the two of you, I swear it to you.'
The helicopter finally lifts off, Bryan and Kai still keeping eye contact until Kai finally looks away, leaving Bryan to stand alone on the roof of the building with only the wind to keep him company.
"I will talk to Ana, Kai, and I will let her realise that she needs you just as much as you need her."

It is already pitch black outside and still cold, but Kai does not care as he stumbles towards his garage so that he can get into his car and just drive to wherever, but one look at him and it is clear that he is in no state to drive because he is completely out of his mind drunk, and he still has a bottle of vodka in his hand as he stumbles towards the garage.
Kai has been drinking non-stop since he came back after leaving Sevastayn on the roof, Kai wanting to numb this incredible heartache within his chest and it is still not completely gone and that is why he is going to continue to drink until he forgets his own name, until he forgets Mya's name, but he also has the sudden urge to get behind the wheel and then show off the speed and power of his magnificent Ford Shelby, the mechanical beast calling to him and begging to be ridden like a demon just waiting to take away his pain with its alluring power.
Kai finally reaches the car and he literally falls into his seat after managing to open the door, he laughing to himself after a few failed attempts, but he is finally behind the wheel and all that he needs to do right now is to start this beauty, step on the gas and drive to wherever this beast wants to go.
"I am [hiccup] here, my beauty, and now [hiccup] it will be just us and [hiccup] and the wide open road before us [hiccup]."
Kai finally starts the engine and the roar of the engine immediately greets his ears and he only smirks to this in a satisfactory manner, "I swear [hiccup] if you were a girl I [hiccup] I would have had you naked and [hiccup] underneath me right now, you [hiccup] you sexy thing," Kai stepping on the gas so that the engine can roar even louder and now he laughs in an ecstatic manner.
Kai puts the car in reverse and speeds out of the garage with an incredible speed, he fortunately remembering to open up the garage door which automatically closes behind him as he speeds down the driveway, the gate also opening in time before Kai races through it and all that can be heard is the roar of the engine and the skidding of the tires of the car as Kai turns sharply on the road with an incredible speed, he laughing manically as he races down the street while taking a large swig from the alcohol bottle in his hand with the music blasting over the speakers.

Bryan is dressed in his nurse uniform and he is making his way towards Ana's room and fortunately visiting hours have ended about half an hour ago, so no one will be bothering them because he seriously needs to talk to Ana without any interruptions.
He knocks on the door two times before walking in, Ana just looking up to see who it could be and when she sees that it is Bryan, she just turns back to look out of the window, nothing but darkness greeting her as she continues to sit on the bed with her knees pulled up to her chest.
Yes, she is glad to see Bryan but she actually wanted to be alone tonight, especially after the last visit Kai had paid her this morning. She hopes that Kai have finally gotten the message that she is done with him for good, despite it still hurting her very deep within her heart. She did love Kai very much and a HUGE part of her still does, but she cannot forget all that has happened, it just hurts too much.
"What brings you here this time of night, Bryan?" Mya asks without looking at Bryan and he pulls a chair closer and comes to sit right next to her, she feeling his eyes on her but she does not look down at him.
"I wanted to come and talk to you, sweetness."
"About what?"
"Kai."
Mya snorts to this and briefly glances at Bryan, but to only just glare at him before turning her attention back to the window, all while feeling how her irritation and anger and despair grows tenfold, all because Bryan suddenly wants to talk about Kai.
Bryan can feel the various tormented emotions coming off of Ana and he cannot blame her, but he wants to make her see that she cannot be finished with Kai, that the two of them actually belong together, that they NEED to be together.
Sure, with Kai out of the way, he is free to pursue Ana once more, to start a life with her, a life that he has longed for for so long, but that resurrected part of his soul knows that it will be wrong to take Kai's happiness away from him, all while knowing that deep down Ana still loves Kai very much and that the two of them are not done yet, not by a long shot, so if it means putting his own happiness with Ana on the backburner for another man, then so be it; Kai deserves to be happy, especially after seeing how broken and defeated he had looked this afternoon.
"Sweetness, we have to talk about Kai, please, we have to talk about the two of you."
"There is no 'us' in regards to Kai and me, Bryan, and there has not been an us for a long time, all thanks to him, so no, I do not want to talk about Kai, and if that is the only reason why you came here, I think you know the way to the door," Mya says while still not looking at Bryan as she hugs her knees closer to her body.
Bryan sighs to this because if there is one thing that is both a good and bad characteristic of Anastasia Grekov, it is her stubbornness, and right now she is being as stubborn as a mule, and it is not a good characteristic of her.
"He is broken because of you, sweetness, absolutely broken."
"Good, and I do hope that he breaks into more pieces until there is nothing left of that soulless bastard," and there is no mistaking the scornful manner in which she says it, each word dipped in both hate and hurt, despite she not even realising that she is showcasing the hurt that she is currently feeling within her own soul and heart, "and besides, we both know that Kai can be a master manipulator when he wants to, so if I were you, Bryan, I wouldn't believe his lies. Kai Hiwatari doesn't know how to be broken, much less heartbroken over a woman he supposedly cared so much about, so excuse me for not shedding tears about his so-called broken demeanour."
Bryan cannot blame Ana for feeling this way, he knew that she would not forgive Kai so fast and he can actually feel the venom within every word that she speaks, but he hopes that deep down she would come to realise that she is still not over Kai.
Bryan sighs before he gets up and looks down at Ana, "I am going to get some coffee and when I return, I hope you would be in a calmer state of mind so that we can talk about this like adults, sweetness, because even if you don't want to admit it, I can clearly hear how you are still hurting for Kai, so we will talk about you and Kai tonight, Ana, whether you want to or not."
Mya says nothing and continues to keep her attention on the window but she has heard every word that Bryan had said, but if he thinks that she is going to change her mind, then he has got another thing coming.
Bryan sees that he is not going to get any reaction out of Ana and without saying anything else, he leaves the room to go and get his coffee and hopefully Ana would have calmed down somewhat when he comes back because he really wants Kai and her to get back together, despite it hurting like a bitch with the thought of her in another man's arms.

He continues to race down the streets of Moscow as if the devil himself is on his tail, and that he is actually enjoying being chased if the satisfactory grin on Kai's face is anything to go by.
The music continues to blare over the sound system, Kai having a new bottle of vodka in his hand that he constantly drinks from while racing at high speeds, he not taking himself or the innocent people around him into consideration, and it is only a miracle that he has not killed anyone up until now with his reckless driving.
Even though Kai seems even drunker than before, he still cannot forget about Mya, about how he had lost her for good and how it is all his fault. The power of the engine rushes through his body but he still cannot focus on it, despite wanting the car to be a distraction for him.
Constant images flash through Kai's mind, all of them about Mya.
Her laughter, her bad ass attitude, her stubbornness, her crude mouth, the way her hair sways in the wind or how it clings to her naked back whenever they make love, the way her beautiful lips part when he thrusts into her and how she calls his name when she is about to come, how she enjoys her cup of coffee in the morning and how she literally lights up like a light bulb after that first sip of caffeine.
The more Kai's mind mocks him with images of Mya, the more Kai realises that he will never get to experience any of those ever again because he truly has lost Mya and there is nothing he can do about it, so why continue to live then?
He is going to die anyway and he would have done it on his own terms and sure, that was still some way down the road, so why postpone the inevitable? He wanted to use the remaining time to make up with Mya, but now that she has made it clear that she does not want him, there is no need to hang around anymore. He is still going to die on his own terms, just too bad that he won't be able to do it with the love of a woman to make him feel better about it.
'I am barely alive without you, Mya, so I may as well give into death completely because a life without your love is not a life worth living at all.'
Up ahead Kai sees the traffic light turning orange and soon it will turn red for him, he now starting to chuckle as he steps on the gas, Kai now resembling a demented person that is on the brink of slaughtering an entire town in cold blood any minute right now.
'Come to me, sweet release...of death, take me as your own,' Kai thinks to himself as he is almost at the crossing, the traffic light already red and the last thing Kai sees as he races over the red light is the oncoming truck, it hitting him full on from the side, Kai smiling a last smile before everything goes black in front of him.
Who feels sorry for Kai because of Mya not wanting him in her life, does he deserve it or not?
Next chapter will also be emotional but not all of the emotions will be this depressing, I promise :-)
Anyway, just an update: I am almost done with the very last chapter of this story and I will admit, it is quite emotional writing it seeing as this story is finally coming to an end, but at least I am satisfied with the chapter so far. It will have a happy ending but not as some may hope for, but a happy ending none the less, and it will still be posted on the 15th of April.
