"This is…quite a foul odor. I am…surprised you…deal with such hardships…for such…a long time."

Spearman, Witch and the trio of young adventurers opted to travel into the sewers as a mean of finding where these monsters were coming from and potentially discover a secret hiding place for the Necromancer. They had followed a small group of knights who led them toward one of the many entry ways that would lead into the sewer, but before they entered there was the quick rundown of what to. With so many monsters coming and going, it was decided at an earlier time that groups would enter the sewers to hunt the monsters and when that did not go as expected, it was decided to begin to burn the area clear. Several groups were sent in with small barrels of oil, they would add it to the water and ignite upon finding the source of the monsters. Spearman had taken the small barrel, carrying the small barrel over his left shoulder as they entered the sewer ways. Two other groups had entered with them but eventually separated down other paths to continue to add oil…or find what had happened to the previous groups that had not returned.

"I'm not happy to admit that we've gotten used to this foul stench, but so long as you avoid any…splashing…you shouldn't really have to worry about any lingering smells." Rookie Warrior tightened his grip on sword.

"You two may have gotten used to it, I'm still new to this group unfortunately. Then again, I'm not entirely sure I would want to get used to such a stench." Fighter grimaced as the smell of the sewage around them was quite nauseating.

"Trust me, this is going to be the last time we ever have to deal with any sewer adventures. After more than a year of this, I'm ready for anything…maybe fighting an army of flesh-eating blobs would be nice." Apprentice Cleric, ever sarcastic about her time in the sewer, carried the lantern in hand as they moved down the walkway.

"You could always go goblin slaying, I'm sure that hack would give you some good advice…then again he might just tell you bluntly kill the goblins." Spearman smirked as he continued down the tunnel with the small barrel over his left shoulder. "Damn this sewer system is rather troublesome, with so many twists and turns it's easy to get lost."

"I noticed these arrows marked along the walls around us, I gather they're to help us find our way to and from." Fighter paused as she examined the arrows painted along the walls in a reddish color.

"We certainly could use something like that in the sewers back home. I think the only reason we know them so well is because we were constantly down there every day, had to memorize the lay…"

A sudden blood-curdling scream cut off Apprentice Cleric as the five adventurers suddenly tensed up. Spearman quickly set the barrel down and moved to stand with Rookie Warrior at the front of this party, Fighter would be the middle of this group, ready to aid the two in front if need be but also to aid in the defense of the spellcasters in the back. Another two screams could be heard from ahead as well as what sounded like some weird chattering, but soon all they heard was the chattering sound followed by splashed in the water. The five stood there as the noises echoed in the tunnel around them, a cold sweat running down Spearman's brow as he waited for something to attack them.

"I'm not sure what was making that sound, it doesn't sound like giant rats. They make a high pitch shrieking before they attack, this…this is different." Rookie Warrior whispered as he licked his lips, feeling like his throat was going to go dry from being so tense.

"We need to push ahead, won't do us any good if we just sit and wait for them to come to us."

Spearman and the others continued down the tunnel, Spearman continuing the carry the oil with him, but now removed the cork stopper and poured the contents into the water beside them. Cautiously they continued onward towards the weird chattering sound, Witch frowned momentarily as she saw something moving in the water beside them.

"In the water…I see something."

The party stopped and held the lanterns close towards the edge and to their horror found the severed head of one of the knights they had traveled with floating in the water, a look of fear still frozen on her face.

"Damn it…what the hell did that?" Spearman grimaced as he then noticed an arm and legs also floating near the head.

"I have a bad feeling that we'll soon find out." Fighter nervously clenched and released her fists as she looked back in the direction the noises had come from.

"Let's keep going. Everyone be on guard."

Once the last of the oil had been used up, Spearman tossed the barrel into the water with a small splash, there had not be any further body parts, but the chattering noise was growing louder. The party rounded the corner but stopped as they observed a figure in the darkness crouched over something, this figure appeared to be a man in a dirty brown robe. With lanterns in hand, their lights reflected off something shiny along the ground, that something was bit of armor stained with blood.

"Did he kill those knights? Is he one of those Faceless Men?" Apprentice Cleric found herself tensing up as her imagination ran wild with ideas of how this man killed the knights.

"Faceless Man or not, he's going to pay for killing these people." Spearman was no longer going to whisper as he stood with spear in hand to challenge this murderer. "Alright you bastard! You so much as move and I'll cut you in two!"

The figure in the dark brown robes paused for a moment, an odd chittering sound being heard as it tilted its head to the side. The figure slowly stood up and turned around to face the group, the party ready to face this man only to discover it was not a man. The figure had an insect like face with blood running down its mandibles, in place of hands were blade likes appendages, six of them. The brown robe suddenly opened up, revealing wings which fluttered quickly, this creature was a giant roach but now it no longer crawled on the ground but moved like a man. The party was silent, each horrified by the sight of this monster but were quickly shaken out of their stupor as the roach screamed before charging towards them swinging its four arms wildly.

"What the hell is that!" Fighter no longer feeling as confident in her spiked gauntlets as it drew closer.

"Who cares just kill it!" Apprentice Cleric was on the verge of panic as the giant roach drew closer.

Spearman charged forward swung his spear to the side, striking at the bug and managing to cut through one of the appendages, but failed to cut fully kill the monster. The roach slashed at them in turn, Spearman used his weapon to block the attack while Rookie Warrior rushed in to hack at the monster, the thick armor covering the roach made the sword strike less effective than normal. Spearman finally impaled the roach with his spear and pushed it against the wall, the injured creature continued to shriek and slash at the humans until Rookie Warrior charged in and used his sword to cut into its head. The roach spasmed for a few moments before finally stopping its trashing; not trusting that it was fully dead, Spearman maneuvered the corpse towards the water edge and angled it so it would slide off his blade and splashed as it fell into the water.

"That was…a giant roach…yes?"

"That was a roach…what the hell made appear like that?" Fighter unconsciously shuddered as she watched the remains of the bugs floating in the sewage.

"I've never seen one like that before. It stood like a man and ran at us on two legs! The wings actually acted like clothing, it…it was trying to imitate a human." Apprentice Cleric was wide eyed as she imagined these creatures getting loose above ground walking around preying on humans because of their appearance would allow them to blend in.

"Another "wonderful" creation that son of a bitch has unleashed upon the world. Making Goblins and rats into aggressive killing machines, now turning these already massive monsters into human-like abominations." Spearman spat to the side as he thought about the Necromancer gleefully creating these horrors.

The groups suddenly heard the screeching of the monster bugs echoing through the tunnel, evidently drawn by the sounds of the fighting.

"Shit here they come! Everyone get moving, we have to find where the hell these freaks are coming from!" Spearman readied his weapon for the incoming swarm of monsters heading their way.

The two Faceless Men calmly moved through the sewers, walking over the remains of the monsters and warriors who had attempted to stop them. Around them, echoed the sound of battle, even now there were still others who tried to resist against the will of their master.

"How bothersome, our master only wished to aid the races in achieving perfection beyond the mere mortal coils that the gods have limited them with, yet they fight against him."

"Indeed. Though I've seen that most of them are unfit to fully experience the full benefit of the elixir; many of them far stronger and more durable than before but lack any true intelligence. Only we who directly serve him seem worthy enough of maintaining our minds and far greater strength than even the strongest adventurer."

"That is all the proof we need to see that we were right to follow his will."

The Faceless Men soon reached the door that would lead to the underground labs, their task was to retrieve the documentation the Necromancer had spent his life creating.

"There they are!"

The two turned, though their expression was hidden behind their masks, both were surprised to see three knights directly them. The three knights were drenched in blood, most of it theirs, and all had their weapons raised to kill the Faceless Men before them. Just as they readied their attack, the trio was assaulted by a small pack of the giant rats. The knights and rats fell into the sewage below, fighting and thrashing in the water, the two Faceless Men quickly rushed through the door before shutting and barring it from the other side, the screams of the men and rats echoing throughout the tunnel.

"Damn, I can't believe they've made it this far into the tunnels."

"Master was quite…what is this?"

Within the lab they spotted the bodies of knights and fallen monsters, somehow this group of knights had somehow made it through one of the other entrances. They then heard the low hiss of something within the shadows of the lab, within the darkness they could see what appeared to be two shimmering green eyes that watched them cautiously. The two were relived to find the lab guardian still present, still following their master's orders, this would allow them to do what was needed without worry. They quickly gathered any and all paperwork, placing the few loose pages inside a large black tome, the cover and pages warped from the constant humidity in the sewers.

"I am deeply relieved the master's works were not destroyed. Even if the fools of the capital do not wish to accept his gift, there may yet be others in different lands."

"Yes, what a tragedy it would have been if this information was lost, we must hurry and meet back with our master as soon as possible."

"Get off me!"

The group found themselves in battle with the giant roaches and rats, one of the rats had pounced on Fighter knocking her to the ground. She used her left arm to keep the monster's sharp teeth from biting her, but its claws scratched and tore at her clothing and flesh. She repeatedly struck the monster with her right arm over and over until it finally was knocked back, she quickly got to her feet and delivered a devastating stomp upon its neck with her boots. Being a martial artist meant her fists and feet were her weapons, so with steel reinforced soles on her boots it was now far stronger than her normal wears.

"That'll teach you…ugly bastard." Fighter hissed as she placed a hand over the deep scratches she received from the rat's claws.

"I got you! Just lean on me!" Apprentice Cleric rushed to her friend's side and helped her move back from the battle while giving her an antidote.

"They just keep coming!" Rookie Warrior nervously moved back after he finally finished off one of the giant roaches.

"Move back!" Spearman kept at the front while his comrades moved further behind him, keeping his spear at the ready.

As they back away, another pack of the rats could be seen running directly towards them with two of the roaches screeching behind them, their cries echoing within the tunnels.

"Quickly give me room! Lord of Judgment, sword-prince, scale-bearer, display here your power…Holy Smite!"

Spearman quickly moved back as Apprentice Cleric raised her sword, while still supporting Fighter, to fire forth her lightning at the charging pack. The blast shot through the first rat and then spread out to the other four rats around it, Apprentice Cleric focused her magic on the rats, continuously chanting over and over until all five rats fell, smoke drifting from the bodies.

"Nice work. Everyone keep moving!"

The group rushed down the tunnel, they could still here others fighting but the echoing screeched of the it was hard to tell where these others could be. They soon rounded the corner and came upon a door, within the sewage nearby they could see the remains of knights and rats floating after their fight. Near the wall were two rats carcasses and what mist have been the oil the knights were carrying with them, though they had not had a chance to release it.

"A door…but it will…not open!" Witch was indeed worried, though het tone remained calm.

Rookie Warrior rushed ahead and slammed his shoulder into the door, again and again and again but it would not budge. Spearman rushed back to the corner they had come around, though he could not see the monsters coming the screeching was growing louder and louder.

"Stand back please…Sagitta…Quelta…Raedius…Magic Missile!"

From her staff, a purple bolt of fire flew forward, it connected with the door and exploded, chunks of wood and splinters flying all around them. Rookie Warrior rushed toward the ruined door and quickly peered inside to verify it was clear, with no monsters in sight he called for the others to follow him. Spearman once again heard the chittering of the roaches, he glanced backwards as the sounds of their blade-like appendages ticked along the ground.

"Damn it, they'll be upon us in only a few minutes." Spearman sighed as he leaned his spear along the wall and took hold of the rat corpses. "You all get moving. I'll hold them back to cover your escape."

The young adventurers were surprised by his comment but for the first time, but for Witch who usually appeared amused or curious, had a genuine look of concern on her face.

"What do you mean…you'll cover our escape?"

"If we keep going the way we are, they'll catch up to us and finish us quickly." Spearman placed the first rat corpse near the remain of the door then hefted the other on top of it. "Go with them and finish the quest. Destroy the lab or whatever the bastard is using the create these monsters."

"I will not…leave you here…to die!" Witch was rather frantic as the sounds of the chittering drew ever closer.

"I don't intend to die, I have too much to live for."

Spearman moved towards her with purpose, wrapping his arm around her and bringing her close where he passionately kissed her. It was far too quick for her liking, as she wanted more, she was concerned as he broke the kiss to retrieve his weapon.

"Don't you worry. I promised you a new gown once this was done and I never break my promise." Spearman sighed as he tightened his grip on his weapon to face his comrades. "Can I have you enchant my weapon?"

"You…will owe me…much more than a dress…when this is done. A ring…will do for starters." Witch was annoyed but had a small smile on her face as she raised her staff. "Alma…Fugio…Amittimus!"

The tip of his lance was set ablaze with purple fire, he smiled and nodded towards her before looking towards the others.

"You'll make sure to get her and your party to safety right? I can count on you to finish this mission right?"

"We'll get it done. Just make sure you make it out of all of this too." Rookie Warrior returned the nod toward Spearman before looking toward his party. "Alright we need to move, let's go!"

Apprentice Cleric and Fighter were the first to step over the rat bodies and move into the next room, Witch followed after them though paused momentarily to look back towards Spearman, once she was through Rookie warrior followed behind her. With everyone gone, Spearman quickly went to work, splashing oil over the bodies of the rats and shoving them closer toward the broken door. He then poured the rest of the oil into the water, making a small trail back toward the corner. With everything used he through the barrel into the water below and went about lighting the fire with the tip of his lance. The water came alive with a roar of fire, it quickly spread to all the oil within the area, he quickly stabbed the rat bodies and they too were aflame, he would use the bodies to act as a deterrent so the others could move without worry of the monsters in the sewers. He heard the chittering of the monsters, he turned around and there he could see two of the giant roaches, the shiny shells illuminated by the flames around them.

"Alright you ugly sons of bitches, don't you dare make me look bad in front of my woman!" He readied his weapon as both creatures opened of their wings and held the arms out ready to attack themselves. "Come on!"

xxxx

The other four looked back toward the doorway they had just come through and found it engulfed in flames, they could hear the screeching and chattering of the giant insect from the other side but no signs of Spearman.

"He'll…he'll be alright…right?" Apprentice Cleric nervously looked back toward the flames nervous that she could not see or hear him fighting the monsters.

"Do not worry…he will be fine."

The three young adventurers looked toward Witch to see her calmly walk away from the flames, a stern look on her face as she moved further into sewers. She in truth was worried, but she would not allow the others to see that uncertainty on her face.

"She's right, he can more than handle himself and he's trusted us to finish our job here. We can't let him down." Rookie Warrior looked toward his own comrades, determined to make sure they also made it through this ordeal. "You two ready to finish this?"

"Of course…Rat Slayer."

"Damn right." Fighter grunted as she removed her arm from Apprentice Cleric's shoulder to stand back on her own two feet. "I'll be alright now. I can still fight."

They moved to quickly catch up with Witch, along the way the saw what appeared to be open cells along eighter side of the walls. Inside the cells were the mangled decaying remains of victims of the Necromancer's experimentation as well as the bodies of a few knights who managed to make it this far before losing their lives.

"All these cells, this must have been where they were keeping all these monsters…until the Necromancer was ready to act." Apprentice Cleric frowned as she wondered how many people were sacrificed for his horrid experiments.

"Were those rats and roaches kept here too? I'd hate to think of a large nest of those things being located here." Rookie Warrior tightened his grip on his sword as he carefully looked about the area but saw no immediate threat.

"I don't think so. The rats and roaches seemed more determined to keep anyone from reaching this location. They may have been experimented on here as well, but I'd gather they were more bred to be "guard dogs" against potential intruders." Fighter knelt beside one of the remains of the knights and frowned, the body was a boy only slightly older than her. "They came so far…we can't let there deaths be in vain. There are small barrels of oil here as well, let's burn everything in this retched place."

"Sounds good, let's do it!"

Rookie Warrior took up the barrel of oil and together they all moved toward the center of the lab, to their horror they could see much of the stone work stained with blood. On the nearby tables they could see various tools covered in dried blood, vials containing various liquids as well as organs and body parts in some transparent fluid. Just as they thought they had seen everything that could have surprised them, Apprentice Cleric gasped as she soon discovered a partial body on a nearby stone slab.

"Over here! Something is on the table!"

The four moved closer to see the body was actually that of a werewolf which was missing all four limbs, the body had long since died long ago and was now left to rot along with the rest of the remains here within the lab.

"Disgusting. This man who claims to be trying to save lives has no qualms about taking as many he desires." Apprentice Cleric frowned as everything she saw in this horrid dungeon went against her belief in the Supreme God. "This place must be destroyed. Such evil must not be allowed to exist in this world."

Her two comrades nodded as they went about dousing the area with the oil, that is until they heard a loud hissing sound. Rookie Warrior and Fighter quickly dropped the barrels and moved beside Witch and Apprentice Cleric as they examined the area. They were sure there had been no visible creatures when they first entered the lab, but this one must have been hiding deep within the shadows. A sudden flash of white fur caught Fighter's attention as she looked toward two of the larger cages across from them.

"A saw some white fur. Could it be the female dire wolf…Snow I believe they called it?"

"No. The dire wolf went with Goblin Slayer and the others." Rookie Warrior nervously licked his lips as he looked toward the darkness and saw two green lights that reflected from his lantern. "Show yourself!"

The creature heard the challenge and would oblige as it stalked forward, it revealed itself to the party of four with a menacing hiss. It was a giant rat, white fur and piercing green eyes unlike the others in the tunnels, and unlike the other rats this was even larger, as big as a Hellhound or one of the dire wolves.

"What the hell…why is that rat so much bigger than the others?" Apprentice Cleric unconsciously took a step back as this monstrous rat moved closer toward them.

"It must…be a special creation…but we do not…have time to waste… Sagitta…Quelta…"

The rat rushed ahead and turned its body, its long tail wrapping around Witch's fore arm and then flinging her aside as she hit the stone floor hard. The rat had been given special instructions, it could recognize human language and knew when they were about to use magic, it had been trained to stop magic users before they could complete their incantation. The rat quickly turned and rushed to attack the downed Witch but Fighter and Rookie Warrior charged forward to defend.

"Get the hell away you damn, stupid…"

Rookie Warrior swung his sword, but the rat actually bit down on the blade much to the surprise of the young man; the rat then gave a quick shake of its head and threw the adventurer aside. Fighter rushed in and the rat repeated the same motion it had with Witch, wrapping its tail around her arm and pulling her to the ground. The rat slashed at the downed woman, tearing into the flesh on her arm to which Rookie Warrior charged in and tackled the rat. Rookie Warrior stabbed his sword into the rat's body to which the rat repeatedly bit into his shoulder with its massive jaws.

"Get off you, you ugly beast! Lord of Judgment, sword-prince, scale-bearer, display…"

"Sagitta…Quelta…"

The white rat could hear the words of the two spell casters, it needed to act before they could finish the chants. The rat turned its head towards the left to see Which and with its tail whipped it at her, striking her across the face, cutting into her flesh as she was knocked to the ground. The rat hissed as it turned its head toward the right and charged towards Apprentice Cleric.

"Holy Smite!"

The bolt of lightning erupted from her sword, she managed to finish the chant before the rat attacked. The rat moved to the side, but was not fast enough as right shoulder was struck, there was the stench of burnt flesh, the cry of the rat as its right foreleg was blown off. The rat collapsed to the ground, blood spilling from its wound and staining its fur as it sat there. Fighter grunted as she helped Witch back to her feet, blood running down her arm and Witch wiped the blood from across her face.

"Got him. That was my last spell. Please let it be dead." Apprentice Cleric carefully moved toward the rat's body, gently stabbing at it with her sword. "Thank the Supreme God its…"

The rat screeched and leapt toward Apprentice Cleric, biting on her left fore arm while knocking her to the ground. Apprentice Cleric screamed as the rat viciously shook its head left and right as it attempted to rip her arm off its body. The rat's green eyes stared at the young woman, rage on its mind from the wound it received until it was struck across the face. The rat quickly hobbled away and turned to see Rookie Warrior back on his feet, sword in his right hand while the shield on his left arm hung downward from the wound on his shoulder.

"Get the hell away from her! Now come on you ugly bastard, come and get me!"

The rat hissed as it stumbled forward to attack, Rookie Warrior moved forward to attack himself but to also put himself in between the monster and Apprentice Cleric. Rookie Warrior swung his sword and the rat backed away hissing at him, the rat then snapped his jaws at the human who swung his sword and backed away as well. The two injured combatants repeated this motion twice more until the rat finally charged forward, determined to kill this human. Rookie Warrior was scared as the monster charged forward, even if it was injured there was always a chance it might kill him, but he was not the same young adventurer who started out two years ago.

Rookie Warrior charged forward as the rat open its jaws wide to bite him, he raised his shield despite the pain and stuffed it into the rat's mouth, then stabbed his sword through the rat's neck. He pushed the blade forward until it emerged through the other side, even as the rat continued to try and bite, Rookie Warrior continued to move the sword left and right making the wound larger as the blood flowed. The rat finally ceased its movements and went limp, its weight falling upon Rookie Warrior as both collapsed to the ground. Rookie Warrior grunted as he struggled to move the rat carcass off his body, he finally managed to tear his sword and shield free as he got back to his feet, looking over the dead monster beneath him.

"That…that's why they call me…the Rat Slayer."

"A…fine job."

Rookie Warrior turned to see Witch, Fighter, and Apprentice Cleric; Fighter supporting her injured comrade, all three smiling weakly at him.

"Let's finish this quest and get the hell out of here." Rookie Warrior smiled and nodded toward his comrades then looked toward Witch. "Can you set the oil ablaze?"

"Leave it…to me…mighty Rat Slayer."

The four adventurers moved toward the other entrance before Witch used her Magic Missile one time more to ignite the oil and set the lab ablaze. Glass vials shattering from the intense heat, bodies burning as the fires consumed them, the remains of the Necromancer's experiments destroyed. The four adventurers now hobbled through the tunnels, the smell of smoke and visible fires being set by others was now clear for everyone to see. They followed the arrow markings to make their way out of the sewers, meeting up with other knights and adventurers who helped get to back to the surface. Once outside their injuries were treated and each was given a healing potion, but they were more concerned with the location of their missing comrade. All four made their way back towards the spot where they had first entered and watched as remaining knights exited the sewers, coughing as the thick black smoke followed behind them. They waited for several minutes, a quick glance upward partially revealed the night sky and the red moon above them, but there was no sign of Spearman.

"Maybe…maybe he got lost. Still making his way out." Fighter nervously looked toward the smoke filled entrance for any signs of her colleague.

"You…you don't think he…"

"No. He wouldn't let those monsters get the better of him." Rookie Warrior was stern as he looked toward Apprentice Cleric. "He'll make it."

All three young adventurers looked to Witch who remained calm as she continued to stare at the entry to the sewers. Externally she kept a calm demeanor, but internally she was concerned, not since their early days against the Rock Eater had she been so worried. They continued to wait, the knights and adventurers that passed them began to gather and decide the next plan, yet this group of four did not move from that spot. Rookie Warrior was getting frustrated and ready to rush into the sewers when they all heard the sounds of coughing, they looked ahead and watched a figure stumble forward, waving the smoke away from his face. Spearman walked forward, the armor on his shoulder missing and deep lacerations across his chest plate, the rest of his body covered in a mixture of rat and insect blood. He leaned against his spear as he took in a deep breath of the fresh night air and looked ahead to see Witch and his colleagues waiting.

"Ah there you are."

With was the first to run ahead, actually dropping her staff to embrace him and kiss him as the other three adventurers also rushed to greet him. He wanted to warn Witch of all the fluids that covered his armor, but he was too happy as he returned the embrace until they finally ended their kiss.

"I'm sorry I made you worry."

"You are…very stupid." Witch smiled then finally realized that her gown was now covered in the same blood that had covered him. "And now…you have covered…me in this filth."

"Like you said, I owe you a new gown…and a ring when this is done." Spearman smiled as he then looked toward the trio of young adventurers and nodded. "I knew you'd see this quest through. Thank you."

"Of course. I'm glad you emerged safely." Rookie Warrior had a slight blush, not used to being praised by his superiors.

"Like those things would stop me, but now is not the time to be foolishly celebrating. I take it you didn't find the bastard?"

"No. We destroyed the lab but did not find the Necromancer." Apprentice Cleric remarked as she gently rubbed her injured arm.

"Then we still have a job to do." Spearman frowned as he tried to think about where they would go next. "Okay…he couldn't control the situation from the sewers. You wouldn't be able to see everything."

"Then where could he hide? Where can he hold up and still control things?" Fighter frowned as she looked up at the buildings within the Capital, trying to find anything tall enough to command from when her eyes finally fell upon a lone structure. "What about that?"

Everyone followed her gaze, they could see the Tower of Law standing tall, though now part of the roof was also set ablaze.

"It is…the last place…most would think…to search."

"Inexcusable! Using the Tower of Law as a stronghold! Such disrespect for the Supreme God." Apprentice Cleric could not hide her disdain for the Necromancer as she looked toward the lone structure.

"Then we have our destination. I know you're all exhausted but we still have a job to do…and we have to make sure the best group gets there first!" Spearman, with Witch by his side tightened his grip on his spear and prepared to continue to fight.

Author's Note: I know with the death of the werewolf, Female Knight should have returned to normal, but I'm going to with what I've seen in other werewolf films. Anyone bitten by a werewolf and lives is cursed to become a werewolf themselves. Even with the death of the werewolf, she still bears the curse, but of course she's learned to use this curse to her advantage. Plus, this will make things interesting for her future child. Next chapter will see Sword Maiden and the King have to deal with a monster from their past…The Highway Man.
