Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Wolf and Reaper. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own RWBY, Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth do.

(Mistral.)

Azul continued to swing his sword through the wooden cardboard cutouts of Grimm. He felt like he was improving, his body didn't feel as pained on his swings as they did before.

Azul's ear twitched as he looked around. He turned only to notice that Ruby stood on the ledge above.

Azul knew that she was still angry at him. The sound of her pacing back and forth relayed that information well enough. Azul was angry at the lack of progress he had at resolving the issue.

Still? He'd like to focus on dealing with Cinder and them when she arrived. His brain was torn between two different issues.

'When did life start getting complicated? I knew that being a huntsman would be tough… Bah, not yet. I'm not one yet. I wish I knew what the others are up to now.' Azul thought to himself with annoyance.

He wondered if Yang and the rest of team RWBY was freaking out. Their team leader wasn't around. They also had barely any idea where they had gone since Ruby and Azul didn't want the others hunting them down.

Azul sighed and turned back to try and deal with the problem at hand. Azul knew for a fact that things would be far harder down the road. They had plenty on their plate… Dealing with protecting Haven was something he wished wasn't one of them at the moment.

"Ugh… I wish we had actual Grimm to fight at the moment." Azul said and crossed his arms.

He sheathed Violet Shadow on his hip and crossed his arms while looking around. He sniffed the air and smelt something interesting.

The sound of combustion dust. That was only used in vehicles and cooking, and if Azul was right? The way it smelt ensured that it came from an airship. Azul could only hum and wonder what had come to Mistral.

Then again? It was the headmaster's business… But Lionheart was being very quiet and secretive, Azul actually hadn't seen him outside of his office more than once.

It made Azul very curious about what came next. The man wouldn't hide something from them, would he? Azul didn't know. The Faunus didn't know him well enough to assume one thing or another, it made him very curious.

Azul was interrupted from these thoughts by someone tapping him on the shoulder. Azul spun around only to be greeted with his girlfriend a meter from his face.

Azul would have crashed to the ground if he hadn't been used to that before. He was constantly kept on edge around Ruby, maybe that was something he could talk to her about.

Anything to make progress on making sure their issue died out. He felt bad about not being able to resolve their argument… But it wasn't an easy argument to take apart. He knew that Ruby didn't want him rushing off into danger.

But he couldn't stop, the more people who he saved? The less victims that Cinder created. The woman had to be stopped or she'd rampage through Remnant. Ruby had to see that, to understand why he was like this.

"Yeah, Rubes?" Azul questioned as he turned and scratched at his ear. "What's new?" Azul questioned with a raised eyebrow.

Ruby said nothing for a few moments as she walked around the room. Azul could only ponder what Ruby wanted to ask him about.

"You healing up ok?" Ruby questioned while looking out the window. Azul nodded and tilted his head to the side as he cracked his fingers.

Azul didn't know how long it would be till he healed up properly either. He sighed and rubbed at his neck.

"Healing up… Not fully healed." Azul stated as he tugged at his arm. "You ok?" Azul questioned and turned to look to the side.

He knew for a fact that something was going to give. There would be something to break the calm that Mistral had. That peace wouldn't last, no matter how much Azul wanted it to be in the end.

Ruby sighed and grabbed at Crescent Rose. Azul's ear twitched which reminded Ruby that he was a Faunus. She had known him since they were kids… Yet now he seemed so distant and different to her. It scared her more than it should have.

And it needed to stop… It would stop. Ruby drew the scythe fully as he looked to the side. Azul said nothing, unsure what to even say to begin with.

Ruby turned on him like a Beowolf, eager to consume something…. Even if he knew they didn't consume meat. They were soulless animals, after all.

'She wants something. She's acting so off.' Azul said as he quickly drew his own weapon at the moment.

Azul watched Ruby charge him as he sighed and looked at her. Ruby looked mad.
