Time Period: A Flashback to the year 1981
Scene 1: Kyle's bedroom
Situation: Francis' conception
Kyle (kissing and touching Sarah all over): I love you
Sarah: I am wearing a condom. Are you wearing one?
Kyle (putting on protection): I thank you for reminding me. I almost forgot about using protection.
Sarah: I thank you for remembering. Hopefully, our condoms will not break.
Kyle (getting on top of Sarah again): Where did we leave off?
Sarah: I remember you were touching me and declaring your love for me
(Kyle and Sarah continue to bang each other until they fall asleep. Little did they know that their condoms broke. The flashback ends).
Scene: A High School Lunch Room
Action: Kyle sees a depressed Sarah sitting alone by herself. He decides to sit by her.
Kyle: Hello, Sarah. What is the matter?
Sarah (touching her tiny baby bump): I am pregnant
Kyle: I remember when our condoms broke. We conceived a baby that magical night.
Sarah (pushing aside her food tray): I can't eat when I have a big decision to make. I can't procrastinate with this big decision because it will cost me both time and money.
Kyle (eating his food) : What do you mean?
Sarah (choked up): I am torn between choosing life or death for our baby. I am leaning towards having an abortion.
Kyle (stops eating at once): It is your body and choice
Sarah: Are you sure?
Kyle (fighting back his tears): Absolutely
Sarah: Unlike my family, you understand me and support me
(Sarah and Kyle continue to eat their lunch in silence. Secretly, Kyle didn't want Sarah to terminate the pregnancy. It was her body and choice in the end).
Scene: Planned Parenthood- Post the abortion procedure
Doctor: Sarah, the procedure is now over
Sarah (struggling to get up off the table): I am in a lot of pain. Is this normal?
A Nurse (helping Sarah): Yes
Sarah (struggling to take off her gown): ok
Meredith (Sarah's mom) helping Sarah out of the gown): You are very brave and strong, honey
Sarah (putting on her clothes): If this abortion was the best right decision then why do I feel at a loss?
Meredith: The healing process will take time
Scene: The Reese Residence (days later- the day of the abortion)
Place: A basketball court
Action: Derek catches an emotional Kyle shooting hoops
Derek (approaching Kyle): There are no tears in basketball
Kyle (covering his eyes): I am not crying
Derek: What is the matter?
Kyle: It is none of your business
Derek: I am not leaving until you tell me
Kyle (embracing his pain and sorrow): Sarah had an abortion today
Derek: I am so sorry for your loss
Kyle: It was her body and choice
Derek: What was your desire?
Kyle: I wanted to keep the baby
(In his dreams, Kyle imagines Sarah giving birth to their aborted baby (a boy named Francis). God blesses them with three precious angels: John, Kitty, and Chance).
