RAW: 14/1/2008

Monday Night RAW was live at the Alabama Civic Center in Mobile, Alabama. A video putting over the Hardy-Orton happenings from last week aired. Then a video showing Randy Orton defeating the Bladewolf to end the 406-day reign as WWE Champion.

Hardy's music hit the arena and he came out to the ring. The crowd is going ballistic for him as he has the mic. Hardy says he's excited. He said in less than two weeks, he'd become the WWE Champion. Hardy said as thrilled as he was he was also angry and for two reasons. He's angry at Orton attacking his brother, Matt, and he's angry that he couldn't beat a bigger name in WWE for the title and that is the Bladewolf. Nothing would've made a impact more had he beaten Bladewolf for the WWE Championship at the Rumble and ended the 400+ day reign as WWE Champion.

He said Orton could come out now, or he'd come back and find him.

After a little wait, the WWE Champion's music hit and he came out to the ramp. Orton said it's such a shame things didn't go Jeff's way. Last week he did what no other man has done for an entire year and that is beat the Bladewolf for the WWE Championship. He ended the reign and whatever shadow of darkness and destruction Bladewolf had over RAW. Now he was just left with the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the very title Bladewolf took off Hardy.

Orton said he didn't know what he'd do until the Rumble because he was out of brothers to kick in the head. Hardy said Orton apparently didn't get it. He'll take his title at the Rumble, but Orton might not make it that far because tonight, he'd be taking him out.

OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!

Dark Side plays before fire explodes on the stage and out comes the Bladewolf with the WWE Intercontinental Championship around his waist. Bladewolf walks down the ramp towards the ring and slides into the ring before he flips his hair back and grabs a microphone and his theme dies down as he stares Orton down.

"I...did not come out here to complain about my loss last week." Bladewolf began in his usual cold, growling voice. "I lost and I accept that. And before you even think ahead, Randy...I am not invoking my rematch clause. No, when somebody takes something away from me then I wait until the right moment to hit them where it hurts and make them feel like failures. So here's a word of warning to you." He walked forward and got in Orton's face, going eye to eye with him. "When you have won the biggest match of your career, when you feel at your most happiest, when you have won the big one and let your guard down...I will be there waiting to strike and take away what matters most to you."

With that, he drops the title and leaves as his theme plays. Orton looked confused and a little scared before eh turned into a kick to the gut...THEN A TWIST OF FATE! Jeff glares down at Orton before he grabs a microphone.

"Hey Bladewolf!" Hardy called, causing the Demon Wolf to halt on the ramp but he doesn't look back. "I never got my rematch for the title you have around your waist. So tonight...I'm invoking it. I want nothing more than to be the next man to hold that title and the WWE Championship at the same time."

Bladewolf looks back at Hardy coldly before pointing at him then does the throat slit taunt, accepting the challenge before he heads backstage as his theme plays and RAW goes to commercial break.

Later

In the arena, Jeff Hardy's theme plays and out comes the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship. Hardy does his usual entrance and makes his way down the ramp towards the ring. Hardy enters the ring and poses on the turnbuckle, doing the Hardy sign with his hand.

OOOOOOWHOOOOOO!

Dark Side plays and out comes the Bladewolf with the WWE Intercontinental Championship on his left shoulder. He has his eyes on Hardy as he walks down the ramp towards the ring, never once removing his gaze from the man in the ring.

"And his opponent, from Death Valley, weighing 305 lbs, he is the WWE Intercontinental Champion...THE BLADEWOLF!" Lillian Garcia announced before leaving the ring.

Bladewolf climbs onto the ring apron then steps over the top rope. He stares Hardy down, standing across from him, before he takes off his coat and tosses it aside then hands his title to the referee who holds it up to show it is on the line, hands it to someone at ringside before calling for the bell.

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

With the match underway, Hardy quickly avoids a charge from the Bladewolf who kept his eyes on him. The two circle one another before Hardy backs off when Bladewolf lunged forward and he hits a kick to the right ankle of Bladewolf who retaliates by grabbing hardy and sends him into the corner hard. Hardy held his back in pain before he got to his feet only to be grabbed and hit with a suplex across the ring.

Bladewolf got to his feet and walks over to Hardy, grabs him by the hair and sends him into the corner. Bladewolf stomps away on Hardy with hard, vicious stomps. Bladewolf glared at the referee when he began to count. Bladewolf hits a reverse elbow into the side of Hardy's head before tossing him across the ring. Hardy gets to his feet and Bladewolf charged fourth but Hardy moves out the way, causing Bladewolf to hit the turnbuckle.

Hardy turns Bladewolf around, boots him in the stomach...THEN HITS THE TWIST OF FATE! Hardy got to his feet and starts heading to the top rope when suddenly Randy Orton runs down the ramp.

"Jeff! hey Jeff!" Orton shouted, catching Hardy's attention as he shouts at Orton.

Bladewolf...SITS UP! Bladewolf whipped his head around to look at Hardy before he gets to his feet and walks forward...THEN GRABS HARDY BY THE THROAT! Bladewolf lifts Hardy off the turnbuckle...AND BRINGS HIM DOWN TO THE MAT WITH A CHOKESLAM! BLADEWOLF HOOKS THE LEG! ONE! TWO! THREE! BLADEWOLF RETAINS THE WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

'Ding! Ding! Ding!'

Dark Side plays as Bladewolf gets to his feet and is handed his WWE Intercontinental Championship. Bladewolf raises it before he throws his arms down which make four lightning bolts hit the turnbuckles and the lights go to a mix of dark blue and the sinister, blood red. Bladewolf then leaves the ring and starts heading up the ramp.

Once he was gone, Orton started attacking Hardy. Orton went for an RKO, but Hardy fought him off. The two fought up the ramp furiously. Orton slammed Hardy into the titan tron and is in complete control. JR is having a panic attack. Orton lined up the big boot only to get back body dropped BIG TIME off the stage. Hardy went higher...BEFORE HE JUMPED OFF WITH A SWANTON BOMB!

The EMT's are FRANTICALLY trying to get at them. As they cart him off, Hardy motions to the crowd...

Gotta admit, Jeff Hardy's a big risk-taker if he can jump off the stage that high to hit a Swanton Bomb onto Randy Orton.
