Day 86: In Which They Snack
Elsa was busy, so he offered to make her tea like the true gentleman that he was. Not one to do things half-heartedly, he rummaged the cupboards for snacks, his eyes lighting up at the sight of a shiny box in the back of the cabinet.
"Ooh, chocolate!" He popped one in his mouth, instantly moaning as it melted and the velvety texture coated his tongue.
"That's mine," Elsa remarked, looking directly at him from over the couch's backrest.
"Want it back?" Jack asked with his tongue stuck out.
"God, you're insufferable," she grumbled, shaking her head. "My sister got me those."
"I knew having a foodie for a sister had to have its advantages."
He brought the tea tray to the living room and grunted for her to scooch over.
"You're calling Anna a foodie?" she asked as he passed her a steaming mug.
"I don't think you understand how good these are, Elsa," Jack stated, biting into another bonbon.
"Are you seriously gonna eat the whole box by yourself, you scoundrel?"
"Relax, lady, it's just candy."
"Yeah, and it's mine, so paws off!" She quickly hit his hand before he could go for another chocolate.
"Did you just slap me?"
Looking away from him, Elsa hid her face behind her mug as she let out an irritated huff.
"Okay, I'm not eating anymore, see?" He chuckled, raising his hands in surrender.
Jack shifted so she sat between his legs and rested his chin on her shoulder. He then offered her a piece of the sweet delicacy, tauntingly wiggling it in front of her until she reluctantly let him feed her. Though her eyebrows remained knitted together in disgruntlement as she chewed, Jack could feel her shoulders relaxing against his arms, and he smirked.
"Good, right?" His voice lowered to a murmur as his gaze locked on hers. The back of his index finger followed the shape of her jawline, angling their lips closer. There was a thin smudge of chocolate on the corner of her mouth, and all he could think about was wiping it clean with his tongue.
"What are you acting all smug about? It's my chocolate." She pushed him away with a roll of eyes.
Displeased with the distance she put between them, Jack dropped his head back and glowered at her.
"You know, for someone so smart, you sure as hell are bad at reading the mood..."
