Hey everyone!

First of all this is LucyMaxine... that username change happened and now it matches all my social media and it reflects how my life and who I am as a person has changed. My old one was a random pick when I had to come up with a name for here and it's certainly not who I am as a person now. I did give some advanced warning. I should be heading back to work this month so this will certainly be an interesting month.

Stay safe.

Lots of love,

LSH xx

Hidden Child-Part 90:

Eventually Abraxas began to tire and Priscilla was summoned to collect him from Hogwarts but Lucius went instead as he wanted to get a glimpse of his children to see how they were. Of course it confused Lyra and Draco but he soon explained before taking his father back to Malfoy Manor to recover for a few hours.

Everyone was anxious to find out how it had all gone but they needed to wait until Abraxas had slept and then he would no doubt tell them all about it.

"Well Lyra seemed to be fine when I went to collect father," Lucius said as he, his mother and Narcissa's parents were sat in the sunroom drinking coffee as they waited for Abraxas to wake so he could fill them in.

"And that barely means a thing these days with Lyra," Narcissa said, "and don't you lie Lucius. You know that just as well as I do," she said as she rested a hand on her husband's arm, "we can never be sure what is going on in Lyra's head these days," she sighed before using her free hand to have a sip of her tea.

Silence fell on the room as everyone sat in silence, just listening to the sounds going on around them. The peacocks could be heard talking to each other and the few birds twittering as they flew around the gardens. It was rather a pleasant evening if there weren't nerves hanging in the air over what had happened at the Castle.

It was dusk when Abraxas appeared in the sunroom and Narcissa instantly rushed to help her father-in-law to sit down beside his wife and she soon returned to her seat next to Lucius.

Fresh beverages and food was served and Abraxas sighed as he knew that everyone was waiting on him to recount what had happened at Hogwarts.

"Lyra and Draco are both fine," he said finally, "they were both excited and shocked to see me but, after that, they were curious and Lyra was confused as to how I could help her until I explained and then we got down to learning the spells."

"How did that go?" Priscilla asked.

"She picked up some of the easiest pretty quickly. I decided to keep her on the easiest spells as I was worried of overwhelming her. Her last letter said that she was learning so many spells and if she got confused Draco could have been hurt," Abraxas said as he looked at the group, "she's a fast learner. Anyway we started with pens and then by the end she was casting the spells at Draco."

"I'm guessing that you had to explain why she could shoot the spells at Draco," Narcissa said, "I mean she couldn't have understood why Draco wasn't hurt otherwise," she said.

"That is correct," Abraxas nodded as he looked at his daughter-in-law and nodded, "it took her a while to understand that part of it all but, once she did, she stopped being so afraid. I think she's worried about harming someone she doesn't mean to."

"That wand of hers would stop that happening I'm certain," Lucius said, "her wand appears to know who means to harm her and who is an ally. I don't know how it does but it does."

"That is something that we don't understand either, not even Dumbledore can understand that. Whether it's because of how Lyra grew up or whether she just has a connection with her wand… who knows," Abraxas said, "I've never known it to happen but then again Lyra has defied logic ever since her conception. In some ways we shouldn't be surprised that this has happened."

Silence fell on the room as everyone lapsed into silence to process what Abraxas had told them. The lights had now come on and stars were above them. It was a calm and clear night.

"Will Lyra learn the more complex and complicated spells Abraxas?" Druella asked as she looked at the wizard.

"I believe that she would, yes. She's a fast learner and I think knowing them all may be in her best interest but I want her to be able to use the other spells with confidence first," came the reply, "I think that she needs to be confident with them ones first and then in a few weeks I can go back and teach her the rest. The spells she's just learnt she will be able to use in her training so that is a relief."

"How quickly do you think she'll pick those ones up?" Lucius asked.

"Fairly quickly. The incantations are easy… it's the wand movements that aren't and I will make sure she can perform them perfectly with a pencil before I let her loose with a wand on Draco," Abraxas said, "I know that she needs to know these spells but I won't allow her to perform them on anyone until I am sure that she can perform them correctly in the first place."

Narcissa breathed a sigh of relief as she rested her head on Lucius' shoulder, clearly in thought about Lyra and Draco, wondering if she'd have two children when this was all over. They knew that Lyra would defeat Bellatrix but they didn't know how and that was what scared Narcissa the most. Would Lyra die in the end and her death would defeat Bellatrix. She didn't know and that was what scared her.

Later on that night when Lucius and Narcissa were in their room she turned to her husband.

"Do you believe that Lyra will be alive at the end of all this? I mean that she will defeat my sister and live through it?" she asked him and watched as Lucius walked over to her.

"That thought has crossed my mind as well but we have to believe in Lyra and her abilities, that all our plans to keep Bellatrix behind the game will work," Lucius said softly, "Lyra's tough and we have to believe that she will do the right thing to save everyone. I think she'll be alive at the end of it all because she's a capable and brave with like her mother. That is what we have to remember," he said softly as he kissed her cheek softly. Narcissa sighed and nodded, hoping that Lucius was right. She couldn't bare the thought of life without Lyra so pushed it firmly to the back of her mind. Lyra would win and live and that was the thing Narcissa had to hold onto.
