Place: The Connor Reese Residence- a computer and study room

Situation: A pregnant Sarah has anxiety, worry, and fear about Chance's future. She has read heartbreaking stories about babies and kids with Down Syndrome on the internet.

John (walks in on Sarah crying): Mom, why are you crying?

Sarah (lying through her tears): I am fine

John: You can be real with me. I can handle the truth.

Sarah (rubbing her stomach): My grief has something to do with the baby

John (rubbing his mom's stomach): How so?

Sarah: According to the internet, babies and kids with Down Syndrome have many health challenges. They may die young.

John: Chance will not die young. Please don't give up hope. Please give him a chance just like his name implies.

Sarah: What kind of fun can we have with him?

John: We can take him to New Zealand and other different cool places

Time Period: A Flashback

Date: 11-11-2011 (two months later)

Place: A Hospital Delivery Room

Event: Chance's birth

Action: Sarah is feeling overwhelmed by the birthing process and Chance's uncertain future

A nurse (readjusting the fetal heartbeat monitor on Sarah's stomach): The fetal heartbeat sounds good and strong. Your son is so ready to come out.

Sarah (between contractions): I am not ready for him to come out. I want him to stay inside my womb forever.

Nurse: Why?

Sarah (rubbing her stomach): My son has Down Syndrome. He will not survive outside my womb.

John (switches between holding Sarah's hand and leg): Mom, you are fully dilated. I know you dread giving birth. You must push him out though. He will die if you don't deliver soon.

Sarah (overwhelmed and emotional, she tries to prolong the birth more): I can't do this. I will not do this.

John: I am a handful, but you tolerate me

Sarah (giving into her pain, she can't stop pushing): AHA...AHA..AHA...AHA..AHA

John (cheering on Sarah): GO MOM!

Sarah (still pushing): AHA..AHA..AHA..AHA

Doctor (applying pressure to Sarah's stomach): Sarah, you are doing an amazing job. Just keep on pushing through the pain. Your ordeal is almost over.

(Eventually, Sarah gives birth to a healthy baby boy. She and John almost that Chance has Down Syndrome.)

Time Period: The Present Reality- Post The New Zealand Trip

Place: The Connor Reese Residence- Chance's bedroom

Action: Sarah and John help Chance to unpack his suitcase and put away items

Sarah (to John): Earth to John?

John (coming out of his daydream): Yes

Sarah: What were you thinking about?

John: I had a Flashback

Chance: About what?

John: All the things that we have overcame

Chance: Cool

Sarah (to John): I understand what you mean. Everyone especially Chance has overcome a lot.

John: Definitely

Chance: I want to visit New Zealand again when I am older

Sarah (feeling a slight pull or tug upon her heartstrings): When you're older
