"Goh why are we so…". Ash said, before being shushed by Goh.
"Goh, that's rude at least…". Chloe began before also being shushed.
While they were in Hoenn, the trio had gone North just outside Fortree City. Currently they were chasing after what two of them thought to be nothing.
"Now Pokeball go!" Goh shouted throwing a pokeball.
Ash and Chloe watched in shock as it hit an invisible Pokémon, before it began to shake.
"Now what were you two saying?" Goh asked.
"Goh! Turn around!" Ash and Chloe shouted in unison.
The Pokeball broke, releasing a now angry Kecleon. It began running towards them before disappearing.
"Shouldn't we be running?" Chloe asked.
"No point, it's probably faster than us, and we can't see where it is anyways." Ash said, waiting for the inevitable attack.
"That normally works though." Goh said, contemplating where to throw the next Pokeball.
"Pikachu use Discharge! Full Power!" Ash called out.
As electricity flew through the field, Kecleon After Kecleon came out of hiding. They were surrounded.
"I'd just like to point out that I only made one angry." Goh said, backing up.
"Any other bright ideas?" Chloe said sarcastically.
"I always have one or two just in case." Ash said with a cocky grin. "Come on out Torterra! Use Earthquake!"
As Torterra shook the ground, the Kecleon seemed far more hurt than they should have been.
"How did you do that much damage?" Goh asked running behind Ash.
"Color Change!" Ash said, not stopping.
"Of course, Kecleon become the type of the move they were hit with!" Chloe exclaimed.
"Exactly." Ash said jumping over a log. "So when Pikachu hit them with electricity they became electric types."
"Making them weak to Earthquake!" Goh realized. "So now what?"
"We jump." Ash said looking over the bridge.
"Ash, you don't have a great record of this." Chloe said.
"Not to mention how crazy this is!" Goh shouted.
"It's not as big of a fall, and who knows how long until the Kecleon follow our trail. Jumping into the river will throw them off." Ash said grabbing Goh and Chloe's hand. "On three."
"One." "Two." "Three!" Ash shouted, as they jumped into the river.
A ways off a bit later
"We're alive!" Goh exclaimed.
"We seem to keep doing this!" Chloe yelled.
"Hey we got away didn't we?" Ash said calmly.
"Not the point, where are we anyways?" Chloe asked, trying to dry off.
"Looks like we're just outside of Mauville." Ash said looking into the distance.
"I'm going to try again. I can't stop now." Goh said, heading back towards the Kecleon.
"We should follow him, to make sure he doesn't get hurt." Chloe said.
"You go ahead, I'm going to grab a plan C just in case." Ash said, heading to Mauville.
"Pokeball Go!" Goh shouted throwing a ball.
It wasn't his initial intention to catch a Tropius but as long as he was here, he might as well.
"So Ash just left?" Goh asked.
"Kinda, he said he'd be back though." Chloe admitted.
"Well as long he doesn't miss all of the fun." Goh said, before quickly halting.
"Goh what's wrong? Eep!" Chloe shrieked as Goh pulled her down.
"The Kecleon, they're all still here. I think they're still passed out though." Goh whispered.
"That's a good thing, isn't it?" Chloe asked.
"For the most part yes, but we're still way outmatched if they come to. Be ready for a hasty retreat. I still want to catch one." Goh said readying a pokeball.
"Be careful." Chloe said, worridley.
"Pokeball Go!" Goh shouted, throwing a curveball at a nearby Kecleon.
A ding later signified its capture.
"Alright! I caught a Kecleon!" Goh exclaimed.
"Goh, I'm worried." Chloe said.
"Why, oh." Goh said looking around.
None of the Kecleon had stirred even a little, whatever did this wasn't Ash's Torterra. Otherwise they'd have at least reacted to Goh's yelling.
"We need to get out of here!" Goh yelled, grabbing Chloe's hand.
As they continued running, a scream from Chloe made Goh turn around. Oddish, Gloom, and Vileplume, an entire field of them. That's what had made all those Kecleon fall asleep.
"Cinderace use Pyro Ball!"
"Rookidee use Peck!"
The two trainers fended off the oncoming grass types for as long as they could. When all seemed lost another two attack came through. Flamethrower, and an Aerial Ace!
"Torkoal and Swellow! Ash you made it back!" Chloe exclaimed turning to see two trainers, neither being Ash.
"Torkoal use Overheat!" The red haired trainer shouted.
"Swellow use Aerial Ace!" The purple haired trainer said. "We saw the battle from in the air, thought you could use a hand."
"Thanks, we didn't expect this much trouble." Goh admitted. "Tropius come on out and help with a Gust! Cinderace use Pyro Ball!
"Rookidee use Peck!" Chloe shouted. "Eevee use Copycat!"
"Glalie use Blizzard!" Ash shouted from a distance.
"Ash it's good to see you!" Chloe shouted.
The combined attacks from the five trainers had been enough to send the grass types retreating.
"You two said you were in the air, what were you doing up there?" Goh asked.
"Oh, we were heading to Lavaridge to make use of the hot sand dunes, and natural hot springs." The purple haired girl said.
"Would you mind if we tagged along! I'd love to try them!" Chloe pleaded.
"If you have a way to get there, sure. I just don't have enough flying types on hand for everyone." The purple haired girl said.
"I think we can manage." Ash said with a smirk.
At Lavaridge
"So Ash, should we tell them?" The red haired girl said.
"I don't know, I mean meeting and battling with two gym leaders on top of not even knowing it." Ash responded.
"We should let them know, it's only fair." The purple haired girl said.
"I'll tell them, just give me a minute." Ash said, heading towards the sand dunes.
"So are you guys enjoying the relaxation?" Ash asked.
"Yeah…". Chloe and Goh sighed in unison.
"Do you want to know who those two trainers actually are?" Ash asked.
"Don't tell me they want a battle." Chloe whined.
"Doubtful seeing as they're both gym leaders I beat a while back." Ash said lightly. "They're Flannery and Winona, the fire and flying gym leaders of Hoenn."
"You're kidding." Goh said surprised.
"Nope,they're the real deal." Ash said.
"And their aces just happen to be pokemon you own." Chloe commented.
"Well I picked up a Torkoal because of Flannery's, but the Swellows are just a coincidence." Ash said. "You guys enjoy the sand, I'm going to enjoy the hot springs."
"Good luck with that." Chloe said.
