Flash, Adagio, Sonata, Aria and Ember were walking down the Lodestar High Street Market, where the usual was happening. Adagio had put Spike in a stroller and asked Flash to push it along, something he was willing to do.
But, there was one glaring problem to all of that...
"Adagio what are you doing!?"
Adagio was clinging onto Flash's arm, smiling as she nuzzled it with her cheek. "I'm just getting Flashy~" She responded softly.
If that didn't make things worse...Well, then the fact that people all gawked at the two in surprisement didn't exactly help Flash's anxiety either. Adding onto the fact that he was pushing Spike's stroller...
Well, it made them look like an actual couple.
Flash blushed and as his face twisted a little, knowing full well that Adagio was planning something beneath her act. But he didn't want to draw too much attention (not more than they were already getting anyway...)
"Adagio, I'm being serious!" Flash whispered.
Adagio slyly giggled, as she held his arm a little tighter, shooting him a devious look, "I just wanna try a social experiment," She responded, "How many people will think we're actually a couple."
"She saw some video on the internet and thought these 'Social experiments' were the greatest thing ever," Ember shrugged, "I don't know..."
"Okay...why me?" Flash asked, "OF everyone here: Why me?"
"Well because I Luv you," Adagio said, giving him a cute, innocent-looking smile.
Flash widened his eyes and blushed intensely, obviously, she was kidding. But he had to admit it, she actually was kind of...adorable.
"Yeah, well I have a reputation to maintain. And this is so not good for my rep!"
"You're pushing a baby in a stroller," Aria retorted, "You're basically being the nicest person right now, you idiot."
Flash's eyes twitched a little. But it was there...
That Sonata chimed in on it.
"Dagi, Flash's right, you and him wouldn't make a good couple."
Both Flash and Adagio widened their eyes, but Flash seemingly agreed with that statement, "You know that could not be any truer-"
"But we would!" Suddenly, Sonata grabbed Flash's arm and pulled him closer to her. Pulling him away from Sonata, Flash managed to keep Spike's stroller perfectly in place and avoid trying to wake up the sleeping infant.
And if that didn't draw more attention to them as more people (even some of the store vendors) noticed that gesture and were kinda surprised by that as well.
Anyway...
He widened his eyes as his face turned red, realizing now that she was just trying to set herself up with him. "WHA-"
"Excuse me, Sonata, but how would you two make for a viable couple?" Adagio smirked, asking as she folded her arms.
"Well duh, we met first! And we totally hit it off. And besides, he clearly likes me the most."
Flash's shoulders dropped, "You tried to kill me when we first met."
"Well, fighting is a sign of mutual respect in the Dragon Lands!" Sonata beamed.
"Yes, yes it is. And that being said, our fight was the most climactic. Not to mention it was pretty hot," Adagio gently pulled the teenager back to her and clung onto his arm, "So, we basically have the best chemistry."
Flash's face got redder and redder by the second, "What!?-Hold on let's backtrack for a moment-"
"Both of you stop!" Ember said sternly, "You two are both being ridiculous. None of you are compatible with each other."
Flash couldn't help but sigh in relief. Ember was usually someone he could count on to keep Adagio and Sonata in check.
Or so he thought...
Suddenly, Ember hugged Flash from behind. Wrapping her arms around him, pulling him closer to her, "If anything we're the most compatible with each other."
And if that didn't make Flash start smoking steam from his ears. As his face became as red as chilli pepper.
Adagio's smirk widened, as she quirked her eyebrow to that, "Oh?"
Sonata scowled at Ember, thinking that her opinion was still right, "How are you his perfect match?! You're always serious all the time! You two are totally unalike"
"Well, on the contrary. We're both mature individuals, we try to be civil and dignified in public. And well...seeing how we've never gotten into a dispute of such. We have the most self-respect for each other. So obviously we're the best couple between you three..."
"Yeah...Civil..." Flash opened his mouth to say something. But He was quickly interjected by Sonata...
"Oh please!" Sonata immediately pulled Flash towards her, "You're the most boring person in the world. You and him would probably last five seconds as a couple!"
Ember glared at the Water-Ice Dragon, "I'll have you know I've had plenty of flings before, and they enjoyed my company quite a bit!"
"Yeah, emphasis on fling." Ember glared at the Devious and Sly Adagio Dazzle. As she yanked Flash's arm and pulled him back to her, "Sentry and I still have the most chemistry. And besides..." She hugged his arm tighter, "Between the three of us. He and I have been the most intimate."
Flash's head was (metaphorically) on fire at this point. As that steam became full-on smoke...His face turning a new shade of crimson.
Aria widened her eyes, before smirking "Oh man this might actually be worth watching," She had packed a bag of chips she had stolen from Flash today (because these were his favourite brand of chips). Pulling it out and opening it. Entertained by what was happening.
Ember rolled her eyes and retorted that "Really? Because as far as I'm concerned, he gets flustered at everything, I mean look at him right now."
He needed to get out of there quickly. Before the situation could get worse.
"I-I'm going to class!"
He pushed the stroller along and headed for the school campus.
Ember folded her arms and shot Sonata a sly look, "See, responsible and mature. Something I'm pretty sure you two couldn't fathom."
"Two people don't necessarily have to be similar, to be the perfect couple." Adagio deadpanned.
"Which is why me and him would totally be a more believable couple rather than any of you two," Sonata added.
The three all began to get into a verbal debate that followed all the way to the school building. As Flash was trying to collect his thoughts and calm down...so the fact that the three Dragon Girls are going on and on about something like this literally wasn't helping him...
They were still going at each other more and more. As the debate was getting a little heated between the three. All while Aria was having the time of her life, eating chips and sipping on a can of soda she stole from Flash's fridge (Because it was his favourite brand of soda).
So needless to say, it had led into the classroom...
The class was moderately full. It was Art day today and they were just meeting at to do attendance.
They drew attention quickly as they watched Flash enter the classroom with a red face while holding the now awake infant. While Adagio, Sonata and Ember were going at each other with their own reasons that they would make the best girlfriend if one of them were to date Flash...
In other words, Adagio's original idea of having a social experiment to see if she could convince people that she and Flash were a thing turned into a debate on who was the fittest.
Shining cocked his eyebrow as nodded to Flash. Pointing his arm at that.
Flash sighed, "Just ignore it, they're bound to let up eventually..."
"R-Right..." Shining shook his head, "Anyway, good morning. And uh, I'm guessing you haven't found a babysitter yet?"
"He's a baby dragon..." Flash whispered, "Keeping him in my sight 24/7 seems a lot safer to me."
Shining chuckled as he leaned back in his seat, "Look at you being a protective Dad."
Flash rolled his eyes, "Why do people keep thinking I'm his Dad?"
"Dada!" Spike beamed, reaching for Flash's face.
Flash widened his eyes and his teacher chuckled, "I think you have the answer chief."
"Yeh Whatever-Look, just do I have any tests today or something?"
"You know it. But I have to say, you've improved a lot in all your subjects. With the remaining tests you have, your Grade point average is only around 67%"
Flash nodded, "Well at least Sugarbelle and Mino'll be happy for me."
"Hey, I could watch Spike for you,"
Flash widened his eyes to that, "Uh...I'm not sure that's a good idea."
"Sentry, may I remind you that you're a student..." Shining put on a prideful smirk, "Besides, I've watched kids before. It isn't that hard of a job."
"But-"
"Flash..."
Flash once again sighed, of course, he knew that his teacher was strong. But...well there were so many different scenarios that could play out. And it wasn't like he hadn't watched Spike before. I mean, for the most part, it was just him holding the kid and responding to his grunts to make sure he was alright...
"I-I'll need to ask Adagio about it..."
Meanwhile...
Applejack and Sunflower finally broke up the heated argument. As Sunset and the rest approached them as well.
"Easy does it there, y'all," Sunflower giggled, "Whut's gotten into you three?"
"Y'all are going at each other like wild crows," Applejack giggled, "Come on now, whut's wrong?"
Adagio glanced at Applejack, sighing. "Yes you two, something is wrong," She glared at Ember and Sonata, "These two apparently think they'd make better girlfriends than me!"
Shining cocked his eyebrow, glancing to his left upon hearing that.
Sonata rolled her eyes, "Replace think with know!"
"Know that I'd make the better girlfriend," Ember retorted.
Rainbow Dash whistled, this certainly seemed like an interesting topic, "This sounds fun," she folded her arms, "Based on what exactly?"
"Rainbow Dash!" Rarity interjected sternly, before glancing at the three Dragon Teens, "On the contrary, there's no such thing as a better girlfriend. Sure you can be a good partner to your significant other, but people are so diverse that you can't necessarily say that."
"Speaking of which, why are you three all talking about this anyway?" Sunset asked cocking her eyebrow, "I mean- Well, maybe that was a bit nosy but..."
"Oh no offence was taken," Adagio responded, "It's just...well how you say. We're fighting over a specific guy. And well, I initially said that I'd make the perfect match for him. Only for these two to disagree!" She hissed.
"I'm stating the facts Dagi!" Sonata retorted, "I'd totally make a better girlfriend than you!"
"In your dreams ya delusional tike!" Adagio retorted aggressively.
Flash grimaced as he was getting redder and redder again. Shining furrowed his eyebrows and glanced down at Flash, now realizing what this was about. And it was there, he instinctively took Spike, "You look a little tense to be holding a child..."
"Girls, Girls. Please!" Twilight interjected, "I'm sure all three of you would make wonderful girlfriends." She adjusted her glasses, "If you want, I could maybe take a probability test on my computer."
Pinkie Pie quirked her eyebrow, "Umm, Twilight don't you think we should respect the traditions of love and uh...all that?"
"It's just a probability test, I mean they're just settling an argument," Twilight responded, "I never said percents made the couple..."
Adagio mused at those words, as her trademark smirk took over. Thinking of something, "Say, what would increase the rate of probability?"
Twilight adjusted her glasses, "Interactions with said person. Interactions positive or negative definitely help determine the likely outcome..."
Adagio smirked, "I see, hold on..." She began walking over towards Flash, swaying her hips as she grinned alluringly. Watching him get redder by the second as his eyes widened slowly. Knowing that she was going to draw attention.
She'd admit it, even though she was trying to pull off a public stunt, well...she thought Flash was really cute. And what she was about to do, might be the boldest thing she's done to him yet.
"Wait what are you-"
Suddenly, Adagio placed her hands on Flash's cheeks and smirked slyly.
"C'mere you~"
Without hesitation, she pulled him right into a full-blown kiss! Making Flash super red as his eyes widened extremely!
Everyone in the class gasped at that. Watching as Adagio works her lips on Flash. Meanwhile, Shining turned away and covered Spike's eye: As most responsible adults in the situation would do...
Both Ember and Sonata glared at Adagio, seeing what her game was now. Both thinking in unison at the moment.
"That cheeky little bitch!"
Sunset and her friends (just as you all suspected) all gasped and widened their eyes in shock as well. Not expecting that twist to occur.
And well, it didn't help that she was taking her sweet time. More or less because she was contemplating using Magic or not.
"I mean, I could just give him a drop of love poision to help my odds," She thought "but there wouldn't be any fun in that...So maybe I shouldn't...Then again though...No, no I think I'll play fair for today."
Adagio eventually pulled away, amused at how utterly shocked Flash was. As of course, she'd never see him like this before.
She giggled, and gave his cheek a light stroke, "Cutie~" Before walking away to her seat. All while Flash stood there frozen: wide-eyed, in shock! As his entire brain just crashed!
"So that's how she wants to play, huh?" Sonata marched over to the frozen teenager, grabbing his collar, "Well two can play that game!"
Like Adagio, she pulled Flash into another kiss as well. With no hesitation whatsoever. Making it last just as long Adagios before pulling away and giving him a wink.
Ember rolled her eyes and followed in suit, "You call that a kiss?! Don't make me laugh!"
She wrapped her arms around Flash's neck, pulling the even more shocked teen into a same-length kiss. And by that point, his arms just fell lifelessly to his sides.
She pulled away and gave him a determined nod. Walking over to her desk, leaving the broken, frozen teenager standing there.
Nobody said a word to what'd just happened.
Shining turned around, only to see the entire class all just stunned, sitting there. But, oh man Flash looked like an absolute mess... Just standing there, his face glowing red as if steam were about to shoot out of his ears any second now.
He glanced at Spike, who had no clue of what had just trasnpired. Lightly patting the infant on the head.
He cleared his throat, and did his best to transition, "Um, thank you all for that...presnetation...Umm but if the rest of you could take your seats and-" Flash went cross eyed and fell forward. Cutting of Shuning for that moment, as he was beyond flustered. Shining cringed and sighed, "I should've seen that coming...Look just take your seats, and I'll do attendance..."
