Kouga realized that Kagome was still going to be herself, no matter the ruse. He vaguely wondered how he'd fallen for such a headstrong, opinionated woman. Cupping her hand with his free palm, he gave a small scoff.
"It would be wise to do as she asks," he said, trying to sound indulgent.
Benjiro's mouth twitched. "I wasn't aware she'd made a request."
Kouga squeezed Kagome's fingers before she could rush to answer. She needed to learn when to stay quiet – he was trying to exude an air of command.
"Trust me," he snorted. "You'll know when she makes demands."
