"Look at me," Alex said softly as she stroked her sister's hair back from her forehead. Even though Kara could only see her eyes behind her surgical mask, the soothing brown spoke volumes. "Trust me."

"I do trust you…" Kara said, her voice wavering. "But please keep talking so it'll distract me, ok? I'm fucking terrified."

Alex nodded. "Of course." She looked back over her shoulder at the agent by the lit door panel. "Bring up the emitters to twenty percent and be ready to turn them off at my say so. We're going to do this as fast as we can."

A slight green light suffused the room and Kara swallowed back the familiar nausea. She felt Alex scrape her skin gently and then she felt a pinches of a needle being pushed into her belly over and over as a mask was placed over her face and she felt the slight dislocation of anesthesia.

"So," Alex went on as she mentally counted enough time to let the numbing agents work. "Kelly was telling me that one of her patients has a crush on her and tried to ask her out." She chuckled slightly. "He's this tall, handsome basketball player with dreamy brown eyes… her words, not mine."

A dopey smile rose to Kara's face. "Oh yeah?"

Alex leaned closer then and kissed her sister's cheek through her own mask. "I told her that, now we're pregnant, she's not allowed to look at dreamy brown eyes that aren't mine anymore."

"Alex…" Kara whispered, her smile broadening. "Pregnant… You're…" She trailed off, the anesthesia confusing her tongue.

The director pressed her forehead to her sister's. "You're going to be the best fucking aunt on the planet… after me, of course."

She drew back then and moved around to the other side of the sterile drapes to swiftly make the incision into Kara's lower abdomen below her navel. From outside the training room, peering in through the tiny window, tears of joy mixed with tears of fear, inched down Cat's face.

Kara had very little body fat, so Alex separated her abdominal muscles, gently moved her intestines and /rrehkhtulha/aside and made the incision into her uterus. "Suction, please." She waited as the nurse suctioned any remaining amniotic fluid away, and then slid her hands gently inside to grasp the baby and pull slowly.

"Alex…" Kara murmured, feeling the slight tugging in a vague way.

"Her head is out," the director said with a smile. "Now her shoulders too… and now she's fully out, Kara." Alex looked toward the door. "Cat! Come in!"

Masked, gowned and gloved, Cat quickly came in, keeping her distance from the baby until otherwise instructed, but sitting next to Kara and kissing her forehead.

Alex was holding Olivia, face down, in one hand while she gently patted and caressed her back. "Come on, Kid," she murmured. "You can do it." And then Olivia Alura Danvers-Grant took a big breath and wailed at the top of her lungs, making Alex suck in a breath of her own in relief. She attached sensors to the unhappy baby and then looked at her tablet. Then she looked at her family and nodded. "She's perfectly healthy. Do the honors again?" The baby's other mother took the sterile scissors to cut her cord and then, as she'd done with Abby, Alex opened the front of Kara's gown to place the infant, face-down, on her chest.

Then she delivered the placenta, cleaned the whole incision site and nodded to the nurse by the door to turn off the Kryptonite emitters. After a moment, the incisions healed flawlessly, returning Kara to her pre-pregnancy state. Then her powers kicked the anesthesia out of her blood stream, bringing her back to full wakefulness and strength. She immediately began to cry and kissed the top of the baby's head before looking at Cat. "Is she really ok?"

The older woman was sniffling too, but she kissed Kara's forehead and then stroked her fingers gently against Liv's dark, downy hair. "She's perfect, Kara." She laughed softly then as the Kryptonian gently turned the baby to look at her face. "She has your ears."

"But she looks just like you," Kara replied with a big smile. "Wow!"

Liv suddenly opened her eyes and looked around her drunkenly, making Cat chuckle. "She does look like me. Guess we'll have to wait to see if her eyes stay blue."

"I hope they're green like yours so she can be Mini-You," Kara whispered, and Cat leaned in to kiss her gently.

"You are astonishing, My Love," the older woman whispered. Then she gazed at her new daughter. "Welcome to the world, Olivia Alura Danvers-Grant."

"Olivia KaraCat-El," Kara added. "You are loved so much. May Rao's blessing be upon you always."

"She's beautiful," Alex smiled as she tossed her mask and gloves into the nearby trash can.

"Holy shit," Kara exclaimed then, looking at her sister. "Did I dream it, or did you tell me you're pregnant?!"

Alex grinned broadly. "Kelly and I are pregnant, yes. Just six weeks but I couldn't wait to tell you."

"That's amazing!" Cat replied, overjoyed as she got up and pulled her sister-in-law into a hug. "Congratulations!"

"Thanks," Alex smiled back. "Now, I should take this little one and check her over." She took Olivia and rocked her for a moment before moving her to a small bassinet. "I'll get her cleaned up too. Her big sister really wants to meet her."

"Uh…" Kara actually giggled as she looked down at her chest. "Guys?" Cat and Alex turned around, both sets of eyes widening at the breast milk the Kryptonian was cupping in the palm of her hand. "I'm leaking."

Alex threw up her hands and laughed. "NOW it decides to show up!"

Kara's eyes were joyful, and Cat went to her to kiss her. "See? Astonishing."
