Chapter 102
.
Elle spent most of her first day in Antarctica with Claire, trying to control her powers. Claire was suprisingly understanding, perhaps because her healing powers allowed her to withstand the electricity. It was clear that they still had a lot of work ahead of them, but they were making progress. The Charmed ones would bring Claire back to her home at night, and she would return the next day. But they didn't keep this a secret, and it wasn't long before Claire was summoned to a meeting with the Ambassador. Chase Graves was also at this meeting, he seemed less understanding about this than the Ambassador.
.
Ambassador: Is it true that you brought this woman, Elle, to Antarctica?
Claire: Yes, and I remind you both that she hs provided us intel about Hell, particularly some of their weapons. What else should I have done? Had she exploded, people probably would have died. Elle was alone in the desert, but we couldn't exactly rule out the possibility of isolated campers or hikers. Any deaths would have bee blamed on all alien refugees, the SBA would have used this for propoganda.
Chase: I agree with those points. Immigration of our people to America is restricted, but president Odonnell would have understood you going there to stop this explosion. Bringing her back is where we differ over strategy.
Claire: Even though she's provided us intel about Hell.
Chase: Ofcourse it's a risk either way, her potential damage versus using her as a source of intel. But I do not believe the intel she could provide outweighs the potential damage she could do.
Claire: So what, I should just shoot her in the head?
Chase: Take me to her I'll do it myself.
Claire: She's in an isolated spot. She explodes she's a danger to noone except maybe me, and I'm willing to risk it.
Chase: You say she's no danger, but as more refugees continue coming to Antarctica we will run out of room. How many refugees are you willing to risk for her?
Claire: We kill her now where do you think she'll go? She goes to Hell she will probably join team Evil, have more incentive to come after all of us.
Ambassador: Obviously there are risks either way. But I happen to agree with Claire, killing Elle would probably mean she'd come back with a vengeance. Our only realistic option is to try and help her, hope that she can become a better person.
