The moment he heard the doorbell rang, Nick rushed over to see who was there. They were only expecting one more guest to the little celebration they were hosting, and he assumed this was who showed up.
The fox opened the door to see Finnick standing outside on the front porch of the house. The short fennec fox was dressed in a light green hat and coat, making him resemble a leprechaun out of folklore.
"Traffic was a little hectic but I made it," he said as he looked up at his friend.
Nick gestured for him step into the room from where he was standing. "Come on in, Fin," he replied.
The fennec fox in the leprechaun outfit strolled in, walking up to where some of the other guests to Nick's St. Patrick's Day party. The room was pretty much an explosion of green decorations, complete with other decor with designs that had four-leaf clovers and pots of gold.
Some of the tod's other friends that came over turned their heads to look over at him, and some of them were grinning at his attire. Finnick wasn't exactly sure why. He swore he was that this was going to be a costume party, but that was clearly not the case here. He even went out and got an outfit in his size specifically for this celebration.
"What's goin' on, Wilde?" Finnick asked. "Ya said we was gonna be dressin' in festive attire. That wasn't no fib, was it?"
Nick simply smiled back at him. "Technically, we're all dressed up to celebrate the holiday." He looked down at his shirt and adjusted his tie a bit. "As you can see, my new tie has a festive four-leaf clover on it. And everyone else wore something green as well." Pointing a paw at his coat, he remarked, "Your outfit, though, has the most St. Patrick's Day spirit I've ever seen. I like it!"
Finnick didn't remember what the red fox told him quite clearly. But instead of feeling like a fool for doing so, he decided it was best to just go with the flow. If there was any sort of philosophy that he honestly went by nowadays, it was to do exactly that.
After all, if he did say so himself, he actually made a pretty good leprechaun. And a pretty dang good one at that, he thought.
"The leprechaun is here!" he proclaimed to those sitting around him, embracing St. Patrick's Day spirit.
Author's Note: Here's a simply story I came up with this afternoon in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. The image of Finnick being in a leprechaun outfit was something I just couldn't pass up writing about, and so I came up with this.
Anyway, hope you liked this little story. It's another one that's a little on the shorter side, but I hope you enjoyed it.
'Til next time, everybody! And Happy St. Patrick's Day! :)
