I really hate when my muse gets stuck but the feeling of joy when inspiration hits it's well worth it. Warning contents in this chapter are quite steamy, well at one point in this all. Enjoy this chapter.
Jane stretched her arms groaning when she felt something wet hit her face. She opened her eyes to realize it was sprinkling rain, she turned to look at Maura giving her a nudge. "Maura, I think we fell asleep, outside and it's raining."
"Jane, did you say something? Why are the sprinklers going off in the car?" her eyes were closed as she muttered.
"No Maura, we fell asleep outside at the rest area," she tried to get her wife to move. "Maur, you're going to need to help me here, I'm not supposed to do any sort of lifting."
"Just go turn the sprinklers off."
Jane rolled her eyes before grabbing Maura by the hand and pulling her up. "Now you owe me."
Maura pouted rubbing her eyes to wake up. "I didn't realize we fell asleep outside."
"I figured it would happen," she stopped when she heard a rumble of thunder before the skies opened up and it started pouring. "Shit," Jane picked up the blanket and the two girls rushed to the car.
They hopped into the car, both soaking wet, "Well that was not a very fun wake up call."
"Told you we would end up falling asleep outside, wasn't expecting this rain though," Jane went to go turn the heat on.
"You know there's one reason why this wasn't such a horrible thing," Maura responded as she used the blanket to dry her arms off.
"Yeah, and what's that?"
"Well your clothes are pretty soaked, and clinging to you quite nicely."
Jane looked down and smirked, "Yeah, you got a point there. You know there's another reason why it's a good thing."
"And what is that exactly?"
Jane didn't answer with words, but she took her own shirt off throwing it to the back seat, before grabbing the hem of Maura's shirt and tugged hers over her head, causing Maura to form a wide smirk on her face.
"Ah, yes, wet clothes aren't so fun to wear, and I can totally see your nipples through that bra of yours."
"Yeah, I kind of got the chills now that you mention it."
Maura went to grab another blanket from the back seat, this one dry before placing it around her wife's shoulders. "There you go," she brushed her lips against Jane's jawline.
"Keep doing that and I'll be warm in no time," Jane licked her lips and Maura continued the kisses before moving over the center console to straddle Jane's lap. She pulled the lever and the seat went back as far as it could. Jane's hands rested on Maura's ass, as she rolled her hips down against Jane's causing her hips to jerk upwards. "Shit, keep going..."
"I love you so much you know Jane," Maura spoke in between kisses that now went down the side of Jane's neck, nipping at her pulse. "You and only you."
"I know Maura," Jane moved slightly to look Maura in the eyes. "And I know that I still need to make up for accusing you of having things going on with Kent. I never want you to think I don't trust you or anything. I trust you more than anyone, even myself."
"Thanks, I know we still have to discuss this further, about why you think he's better for me more than you. About all of your doubts, but let's not talk, there's more time for that later," Maura spoke softly, unhooked the back of Jane's bra.
"Okay, I just wanted you to know..." she whispered and Maura kissed her lips.
"I know," Maura nodded, "I don't want you to be having any sort of doubts, I think you're absolutely breathtaking and no one will ever take that away from you," she mentioned before lowering her mouth onto Jane's nipple, her tongue swirling around the hardened nub before suckling softly. Jane closed her eyes, feeling warmer by the second she loved the way Maura focused on her breasts, usually she didn't care for when a guy did that to her, but Maura was different, Maura was pretty incredible. Jane's fingers tangled in Maura's hair, pushing her hips hard up against Maura's, both girls gasped lightly before Maura moved to focus on Jane's other breast.
"I love your mouth on me."
Maura focused a little longer before pulling back, licking her lips. She didn't say anything as she went to unbutton Jane's pants, Jane shimmied out of said pants, shifting as Maura's hand went in between legs, she pressed her palm against Jane's crotch in a teasing manner, before pushing the underwear down Jane's legs. Maura looked at Jane in such a hunger that had Jane really aroused.
Maura moved off of Jane's lap, her knees on the floor on the car so she was at the perfect angle of Jane's entrance. "You were saying... about my mouth?"
Jane nodded, "Please..." was all she could get out before Maura's tongue slowly ran up her slit, Jane's body shivered at the feeling before Maura's mouth lowered. Jane gasped, her hips thrusting upwards, as Maura mouth covered her core as she began sucking, making sure she made extra noise on purpose. Jane tossed her head back, her legs thrown over Maura's shoulders as her wife's lips buried in her folds.
Jane felt herself start to tense up at the intensity of Maura's mouth movements. Jane's back arched up, her legs tightening against Maura's shoulders as her entire soul shook. "Mother fucker!" Jane shouted, coming hard against Maura's mouth.
Jane panted, slumping back against her seat, letting Maura lap up the juices that exploded from her. After Maura finished cleaning up what she could, she went back onto Jane's lap. "Well, how was that?"
Jane nodded, trying to catch her breath, once she did she pulled Maura in for a kiss. One with so much passion and love, causing Jane to want more. But she knew they needed to get some rest before they went driving again in the morning. "I can tell you one thing, I'm definitely exhausted."
Maura licked her lips, "Yeah I bet you are." She went to go shut off the heat. "I almost forgot it was storming outside."
"Me too," Jane smiled, slipping her underwear back on. "You were incredible Maura, you never disappoint. Wanna join me in the backseat so we can get some sleep?"
"Just some sleep?"
"Yeah Maura, there's only so much I can handle right now," Jane went to go to the backseat, pushing the back down, Maura followed suit. "Good night Maura."
"Pleasant dreams Jane," Maura kissed her wife's cheek before snuggling up to her, her head resting on Jane's chest. Tomorrow would be quite a bit of driving.
In Boston, Tommy woke up feeling like absolute shit. He got a little carried away last night with drinking, going to the aquarium was great with the twins his mother and Korsak for the company at least, but once he went home he got lonely and upset, and very drunk, and the whole night was a blur. He opened his eyes blinking. It took Tommy a moment before realizing that he wasn't at his house, he honestly couldn't remember where he was at. He slowly moved up from the couch, once the blanket fell he realized he was just in his Yogi bear boxer shorts.
"What the hell happened last night?" he rubbed his head, "And where am I?" he asked himself out loud, feeling a little dizzy, slightly in panic mode. I couldn't have, could I? he started to lose control of his breathing.
"Woah buddy, I think you need to sit down," Kent's voice was heard. "Take deep breaths."
Tommy turned to face the direction of Kent, feeling woozy plopping down on the couch. "Tell me we... tell me that I didn't..." he couldn't even get the words out.
"We didn't..." Kent sat down next to the frazzled Rizzoli. "I was out last night and came home to you holding a bottle of Jack Daniel's. You were definitely hammered that's for sure. You begged me not to tell Frankie or Jane about it, said that you didn't want them to worry. I let you come inside to try and sober you up. You cried... a lot and then you ended up puking on yourself and your clothes and you refused to let me get you a change of clothes... so that's why you're in your boxers."
Tommy listened to Kent explain all of what happened and then he took a huge sigh of release. "Thank God, if I did something foolish I would hope I'd end up with alcohol poisoning or some shit. I wouldn't have been able to face Barry if I..."
"I know Tommy, but I wouldn't have let you, you know."
"I guess you're right, you're a great friend."
"Thanks, well I'll go get your clothes from the dryer so you can put them back on and go home to get some rest," Kent told Tommy before disappearing into a room.
"If I didn't know any better I'd say that you were rushing me to leave," Tommy spoke once Kent came back with his clothes, all but tossing them at the man.
"Why would I be rushing you? It's just that I have to get to work soon and you should occupy your time in a more productive way. Preferably not drinking alcohol."
"Perhaps," Tommy shrugged, putting on his clothes. Once he was finished there was a knock on the door. "Ah looks like someone wants to delay you going to work."
"Oh you mean besides you."
"Yeah," Tommy went to go find his shoes and put them on. The knock happened again, causing Kent to rush over while Tommy was occupied tying his laces.
"Hey Kent, were you ready to go?" Frankie asked as soon as Kent opened the door. Tommy stopped what he was doing and looked up at his brother standing in Kent's doorway. "Uh, what's my brother doing here?"
"He needed a friend to talk to that's all. He ended up passing out on my couch, but at least he wasn't alone getting drunk."
Frankie observed his brother's appearance, "Yeah I guess. I'll wait down in the car, you know Maura would be proud of us for car pooling. Helping do our part in trying to save the ozone layer of our atmosphere" he nodded before leaving to go sit in his car and wait.
"Thanks Kent, for not telling him I was drunk of my ass."
"Hey I respect to keep your secret just try not to make it a habit, drinking and showing up at my place," Kent pat his back. "Did you want me to call you an Uber?"
"Nah, I can handle it, I'll be okay walking home, you know I'm not that far from you I come to realize. I'll see ya around man," Tommy walked out the door. Kent sighed glad the younger Rizzoli was gone, last night was definitely a struggle for Kent, watching Tommy as a drunken fool, it was hard to deal with and Kent hoped that Frost woke up soon so the Rizzoli would cheer up.
Kent grabbed his jacket after a moment in his thoughts before heading down to Frankie's car. He got in and turned to Frankie. "Hey sorry about that..."
"About what? Lying that Tommy wasn't drinking last night?"
"I told you he wasn't Frankie."
"Well I know the tells of a hungover Tommy, and that's what he was. You don't have to lie on his behalf, okay? I don't understand why you did in the first place."
"He was embarrassed Frankie, you know he cried in front of me and threw up on himself. He's going through a lot, I want him to get better, he feels like he can trust me. I want him to trust me, to know that he doesn't have to deal with this Frost scenario alone... You're not alone either though Frankie, I'm here for you too, like I said last night I don't plan on going anywhere..." Kent rested his hand on Frankie's knee.
Frankie smiled, leaning over to kiss him, "Thanks, for caring so much about my family's well-being."
"Well thank you for letting me be here for you. We should probably get to work now," Kent buckled up, placing his hands in his lap as Frankie drove them to work. "I did want to ask you, if you considered my offer I mentioned last night."
"I'm still thinking about it, I'm definitely leaning more towards a yes, but we'll see. I still have a bit more to figure out."
"For you I have all the patience in the world," Kent grinned, leaning back in his seat.
Maura and Jane were back on the road, today would consist of driving mostly and making small pit stops for gas, and food. They just crossed the boarder of Illinois making it to the city of Davenport, Iowa. Jane found a little place called Bayside Bistro they could enjoy for brunch. There was a sort of nice homey feel to the place in Jane's opinion.
She and Maura just ordered the curry chicken and coconut rice to share and some crab cakes. Both deciding on a smoothie to drink. They are enjoying their food and the atmosphere, going to find a bench outside to sit on after they were done eating.
"That meal was quite delicious. I'm real glad I'm able to hold it down, it won't be so good coming up I'm sure." Jane decided to talk to distract them from the other thing that they needed to talk about. Maura was smart enough to know what Jane was doing, but thought they should enjoy this for a little longer. "You know I'm worried... about Frost. I can't seem to stop thinking about him, about Tommy and how he might be handling this in all the wrong ways. I don't want to be this nagging mother and keep on checking up on him, he's not going to grow from this if I'm always babying him."
"Sometimes I think that's what he needs Jane, not to be nagged but to feel like someone cares for him and his well being. We can call him and see how things are if you'd like. I'm sure you won't be a bother."
"You don't think me doing all this worrying on our trip is ruining everything?"
Maura shook her head, "Jane I'd be more concerned if you weren't worried. We're over a thousand miles from home it's bound to happen," she rested her hand on Jane's leg in reassurance. Jane nodding, pulling out her phone deciding to try video chatting Tommy. It rung a bit before Tommy's face popped up on the screen, Jane could tell he was hungover but he looked happy which was odd to her.
"Hey Janie, hey Maura," Tommy greeted with a smile. "Enjoying your baecation?"
"Well I was worried about you and maybe I had reason to be. Are you drunk?"
"I had a morning mimosa that's all. I was drunk tons last night, but Dr. Drake took care of me. He made sure I didn't do anything stupid. He's such a great guy, you know I think him and Frankie have some thing going on. But that's not important, you know Frankie bailing when things start to get good. That's why I won Frost's heart in the end, Frankie's such a wuss," he chuckled, the girls looked at each other concern written on both of their faces. Tommy lifted a bottle up to drink, Jane took notice.
"Thomas Rizzoli, what's that in your hand?" she scolded her younger brother.
"Why you have to Thomas me for? And oh... I guess I am drinking, tequila... maybe I drank a tequila sunrise for breakfast."
"Tommy I don't think what you're doing is a good idea," Maura jumped in the conversation, knowing Tommy probably would listen to her more than Jane when it came to this. "You're going to end up getting alcohol poisoning. Is that what you want? Getting your stomach pumped?"
"What if it was my plan, drink until I don't feel the pain, drink until I stop feeling like shit. Hurting sucks Maura, if you weren't a doctor trust me you'd be the same way everytime Janie ends up in the hospital."
"Unlike you Thomas, Maura has a little more self control than that. And she's far from an idiot," Jane scolded. "Yes Frost is in the hospital, but the way you're acting, do you think he'd be proud to hear how you were handling things?"
Tommy shrugged, "Well I can't exactly ask him and you better not say anything Janie. You're going to ruin things for me."
"Don't blame Jane for your actions Tommy. You have a right to cope how you feel, but at least take in to consideration of others. I know you're concerned about Frost..."
"Barry," Tommy corrected, cutting Maura off.
"But do you really want to risk your life, how would Frost... Barry feel if he wakes up and you're not here, if you do something so incredibly stupid and you just leave him all alone. I bet you'd feel like real shit then, well you'd feel nothing because you'd be buried in the ground, you'd be dead and how will Barry feel? You just abandon him because you decide to drink yourself to death, is that really what you want Thomas?" Maura was more than furious of how Tommy was acting, she thought he was better than that, a better man than Frank turned out to be. "Well is it?!"
Jane was completely stunned by Maura scolding her brother, but Tommy deserved it. She seen how Tommy's face fell as he put down the bottle of tequila which was almost empty.
"Goddamned Maura," Tommy frowned.
"Well you need tough love because what you're doing is stupid and dangerous. It sounds to me like you're wanting to cause yourself pain, you do not need to be alone at a time like this? In fact it's doctor recommended that you don't, you should go stay with someone who can keep an eye on you, someone who can help you through your problem."
"First you scold me, now you want to help? How can you, either of you be of help when you guys aren't even near Boston right now."
"Because I know people in Boston who can make sure you stop doing this stupid shit. That's why."
Tommy looked at his sister before focusing back on Maura. "Don't call her Maura, she's already mad that I had a thing with her daughter, that I showed up drunk on my ass and blacked out on their back porch swing that one time. Why would she help, she doesn't like me."
"Because she's the best doctor in Boston right now and you don't need someone to be your friend. You can't just go to Kent for help, he doesn't have what it takes to handle being tough, Hope on the other hand... is the best alternative for while Jane and I aren't there."
"You're not going to just let me handle it myself?"
Jane laughed sourly, "Yeah like you're doing such a great job right now. Maura had the right idea, go ahead and call Hope. It'll do Thomas some good."
Maura nodded, pulling out her phone, getting up from the bench to have a conversation with Hope.
"You know I never seen Maura that angry before, sometimes I forget her father is a mob boss."
"Maura is nothing like Paddy Doyle, okay? Don't compare her to him, alright?"
"You must admit her going off was kind of intense."
"Well that's what you need, what I don't get is why you chose to go home and be alone. Ma and Korsak are there and they'd be willing to let you stay with them."
"They already have their hands full with the twins and Julian. We all went to the aquarium and it was like a mad house. Two four year olds, two old people and a basically newborn baby, including me you would think it went smoothly. I had to push Todd around in his wheelchair... I had to help him use the bathroom like four times because he wanted to stay hydrated. Our outing was supposed to be fun, not like a chore. It was very fucking stressful."
"At least it distracted your mind and stopped you from drinking like an idiot, although it didn't last for long."
Maura came back from her phone call with Hope. "Tommy, Hope said she's on her way and that we should stay on the phone with you until she gets there just in case we hang up and you decide to keep on drinking. Jane and I are going to get back on the road and we'll keep you on the phone."
"Sounds reasonable, right Tommy?" Jane stared at her brother and he nodded.
"Yeah, so where are you guys at now?"
Jane and Maura headed back to the car, Maura would drive as Jane continued talking to her brother on the video chat. The talk lasted about thirty more minutes before Hope's face appeared on the phone.
"Good morning Jane, thanks for continuing to talk to Thomas on the phone until I got here. I promise I'll do absolutely anything I can to help."
"Thanks Hope, just warning you now, he's quite the handful."
"Trust me, I know too well. You and Maura enjoy the rest of your trip, and congratulations by the way... your mother told me the news."
Jane frowned, "She told you my news? Of course she did, I was sort of hoping Maura would be the one to tell you when we got back."
"Trust me, I would have loved to hear the news from both you and Maura..."
"But we both know how my mother can be," Jane nodded finishing the doctor's sentence. "I trust that my brother is in good hands now. Bye Thomas!" Jane turned to Tommy who groaned.
"Goodbye Jane... wait, what news is Doctor Martin talking abou-" Tommy asked, Jane shut off the conversation putting her phone away.
Jane rubbed her forehead with her fingers. "Good thing I called Tommy, that could have went differently if I didn't call."
Maura nodded, glancing over at her wife with a worried look, "I know Jane. Why don't you get some more rest? You look exhausted after that phone call."
"I just wish I didn't have to worry, you know. It's bad enough Frost being in a coma, but then Tommy talking about wanting to get alcohol poisoning... hearing him talk like that, knowing he's doing it on purpose not to feel pain... I'm sure you scared him with the whole being dead thing. I don't think Tommy really knew how serious it could have gotten. I still don't think he fully knows the extent of his actions. It's going to take Frost waking up for Tommy to go back to his new normal self to realize what he has a chance of ruining even more." Jane leaned her head against the window and closed her eyes. "I'm so tired of worrying about everyone Maura."
"I know you are sweetie. It's hard not to worry though, knowing everything that's going on. It's a lot of weight on your shoulders," she reached over to take Jane's hand in hers, lifting it to her lips for a kiss. "Get some rest Jane, okay?"
Jane nodded, squeezing Maura's hand. "Yes Doctor."
So hoped you enjoyed this chapter sorry for the delay in posting, working five days is more exhausting than I remember preCovid, that on top of wanting to write but can't. Jane is worried about her brother, even a vacation isn't a vacation without worrying about her family, but at least she got some sexy car action with her wifey. Tommy is slowly destroying himself let's hope Maura's scolding and Hope helping works for the best. Kent and Frankie seem to be getting close. Let's hope the next chapter doesn't take long to get posted, eh? Reviews will help with the muse I'm sure.
