Kagome blinked at the male standing before her.

To say that she was surprised would be an understatement. She'd just been on her way to go watch the fight between Kouga and Jakotsu when her teacher had shown up. Even now she could hear the fighting taking place outside in the arena. It was frustrating to not see them battle, however whatever Aizawa had to say must've been important. Otherwise he wouldn't have dropped in at all.

"Eraser," The young woman referred to him by his hero name. "I didn't expect you to pay me a visit."

Why was he here exactly?

It wasn't like him to stop by just to chat. Surely he had a reason for coming.

"I wanted to check in with you," He spoke through the bandages that covered nearly every inch of his body. It was almost comical how much he resembled a halloween-style mummy in that moment.

Kagome cocked her head to the side curiously, "Well I made it through to the next round at least."

Which was precisely why she wanted to watch the next fight. She needed to know who her next opponent would be and their fighting style. The Calvary battle did little to give her much insight into how Jakotsu and Kouga fought independently. This was her best chance to do research before the next round.

Aizawa's gaze slid towards her sharply, "I heard that you made it through the Calvary battle unhindered. You've been progressing well since you first arrived here."

An awkwardness settled in the silence between him.

What exactly was he trying to say?

Kagome cast him a wry smile, "I've had a few people help me along the way."

Dabi had been an excellent teacher. The only reason she could wield her quirk so efficiently now was because of the effort he'd put into training her. He was tough but he never once gave up on her.

The young woman pressed the tips of her fingers against her chest.

It still bothered her that he couldn't be here in person.

Aizawa's expression sharpened at that but he made no mention of his suspicions. If anything, he was probably concerned about her living with some strange man and getting pregnant.

She chewed her bottom lip at that thought.

Speaking of which, she really needed to take a test soon.

"In any case," The man started after a long moment. "I wanted to tell you to keep doing your best." He paused to meet her gaze directly, "You've done well so far."

Kagome blinked.

Was he… being supportive?

A wide grin stretched across her lips.

"I'm not just going to do well, I'm going to win!"

For just a second, she thought she saw him smile from beneath the bandages.
