Can you do a story where Amy gets hurt during a mission, and he pulls her hand away from her arm only to see that she's bleeding badly from her injuries?

"Amy! You're needed on the 3rd level!"

Amy's air swished rapidly with her head, turning to look at the stairs to the large building she had infiltrated and steadily made her way up the stairs.

She rammed into the side of the stairs trying to quickly move up them, and squinted her eye at the rookie mistake, before bolting up the rest of them.

Her feet were quick, but her body clearly showed some signs of fatigue, and even more so… her mind was increasingly worried…

"You're coming up to the main guard! Be careful!"

A G.U.N soldier spotted her coming up the stairs, and quickly pulled out his gun. "Freeze!"

She immediately shifted her eyes to him.

A cascade of bullets ricocheted off her hammer as she spun it expertly in front of her, letting the bullets get stopped by it's sheer, massiveness.

She gritted her teeth before seeing him run out of bullets.

He sweat dropped, before pulling out some grenades. "What are you people!? What are you after?!"

Her face rose in fury as she lifted her leg up, "GrrrrraAAAHHH!" she threw the massive hammer at him and knocked him clean back.

The grenades fell… already pulled to activate.

"Oh no…" Amy's eyes widened and she quickly ran to the man. "Look out!"

BOOOMM!

"Amy!…Come in… Amy!"

Her head felt heavy.

Eyes were dizzy with blurred lines that formed distorted shapes…

She gripped her head and wobbled to her feet, before she felt her heart beat and something warm around her.

She stumbled up and limped over to the man…

He was breathing… but in pain.

She breathed hard at seeing his injuries, willing herself not to cry or get afraid, before putting her hands under his armpits and pulling him away from the blasted area.

She refused to look around, stopping herself from seeing blurred images of red around her, and just pulled her face away, straining to do her best and save the man's life.

Once he was safely away from the explosion site, she fell to her knees, gripping her side.

The disorientation was soon over, and the adrenaline raced away to reveal her true state of pain.

She almost felt like barfing, gripping her stomach and squeezing her mouth shut.

She let out a small whimper,… before she could finally make out Tails's cries in her microphone, positioned at her ear.

"AMY! Say something! Anything!"

"He's…" she gulped… her spit tasting weird….

like it was…

"He's alive." she coughed out, but lifted her hand to catch whatever substance came out.

It definitely wasn't spit.

"Are you alright!? Ohh… I wish Sonic were here! He'd know what to do!"

Amy's eyes watered up.

G.U.N had kidnapped Sonic.

They did some odd experiment on him that mimicked work from Space Colony Ark.

They hoped to make him work for them…

He was sent through a portal and his location- classified. They only learned this from Rouge after she was hired by Eggman to do some dirty digging work around their main headquarters…

Amy was at first enraged, she just wanted to help free Sonic… but hearing he was in a portal…

She wished he was here too…

"We have to… erk… find that portal." she lifted herself up, still holding her side by her hand, daring to not look down…

She leaned against a wall with her free hand, before the pain was too agonizing to ignore.

With hesitation and a sharp inhale, she turned to look down at her wound…

Moving her hand… she flinched and breathed harder, more in surprise than the pain now, before covering it up again and looking up, straining her mouth to a line and closing her eyes.

A single tear made her swish her head in shame.

She wanted to be brave.

She wanted to save Sonic.

"Where… ugh… is he?" she was able to get out, as more silent tears rushed down her cheeks.

"..Amy.."

"I can do this! Just-!" she banged her hand against the wall, before fully pressing herself against it, crying more as the door next to her opened.

"…He's in there…"

She looked to the door… and willed herself to move.

Limping along the door's side, she peeked into the dark room… a single glowing object, a portal maybe?

She started to hobble in, before feeling something cold suddenly make her shiver.

Dripping down her leg…

She was so worried about Sonic… but in this moment… she fearfully, slowly… turned to look down at her leg.

The blood she refused to see on the man… she now saw between blurred and focused vision.

She had a dry mouth suddenly,…

Her breathing faded…

She fainted to the floor…

"Amy..? Amy?! AMYY!"

Tails's voice was drowned out by a pounding in her head…

The lights in the room suddenly flashed brightly before her, and a figure picked her up.

"Tails!"

With Amy's disoriented mind, she could barely make out the voice…

"This is Sonic, I'm fine! The experiment backfired, and I'm out. I'm bringing Amy home!"

"SONIC!"

Amy's eyes flickered to try and stay open, but her body willed her to fade away in unconsciousness.

With the world going black,… she still managed to feel herself, even in the pain, being lifted up and pulled towards something…

It was comforting… the tight squeeze.

She faintly saw a silhouette in the darkness, the faint sound of a coherent voice,… and then…

Nothing.

Nothing but her name being called.

This dream felt familiar…

She was once again chasing after Sonic… drifting farther and farther away from him.

The sandy beach turned blazing white, a sudden realization that her outstretched hand wasn't ever going to reach it's target…

The blue fizzled into the morning mist… which she stopped to look around… and realize it was an island.

She was drifting high above the clouds, feeling the wind carrying her farther up,…

When her fear took hold of her heart, and her eyes glossed with what looked like awe and sorrow, a voice suddenly broke through to comfort her.

"...Don't go…"

It was so faint… but so warm…

She turned her head, looking down at the glistening sand…

But it wasn't below her.

"...You just-

Can't…"

She peered up into the clouds, as the sun… suddenly didn't look like the sun.

It was pleasing to look at… easy on the eyes, and the gentle pull of the pleading voice brought her steps towards it's direction.

What was it saying..?

"Amy..."

She found the last of her frightened paralysis vanished.

She could feel strength and air rushing into her lungs.

She breathed hard, before pacing herself, and starting to chase the light.

"…Amykeep fighting…"

The gentle echo of his voice sent a soaring fire through her blood.

She raised her head up, the light growing wider, bigger.

It was definitely no sun.

"…Amy…"

She opened her mouth, panting harder as it took all her remaining ability to keep herself from tumbling over. Her arms threw themselves forward and back, as if she was swimming through the air.

Her feet pounded the ground and with each step, her island began to fade into the mist… and she began to walk over thin glass… showing the sky below her.

"…I'm here

And I'll always be here…"

She cried out his name.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNIIIIIIIICCCC!

The light encircled and wrapped around her.

The next thing she remembered was warmth. And then her eyes, squinting through the harsh light, no longer soft to her.

She felt something on her mouth, and tried to look down.

A mask of somekind, clear with fog all around it.

Her breath?

So faint…

She noticed the hospitals flowers… and then her bedsheets.

This wasn't her room…

This wasn't even the G.U.N Headquarters.

She looked to the side of the bed.

There, sunken with his arms covering his head…. was a sulking blue hedgehog.

"Don't leave, Amy…" he repeated, lightly from below as the muffled sound carried all the way- perfectly to her ears.

"…Okay." she faintly replied, smiling.

The first thing to move was his ears.

As if hesitant, they scanned for the false hope.

She giggled.

They perked and thing time, brought his whole head up with them.

His face was a swarm of emotions, but mostly- at least… for right now- it was surprise.

"…Amy?" he almost gawked at the dream. So vivid. Her eyes still shining bright like how he remembered them, but a clearer iris and fainter pink.

Due to the medication, and of course, the weakness she had endured through the surgery to remove all the grenade pieces and metal damaging out… she looked almost…

No, she was heavenly. Even laying without a single part of her able to respond with her usual burst of energy to him..

She was the same.

"Amy..?" he leaned closer, his arm slid across the bedcovers and she couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement.

Her cheeks could barely produce a blush, but they tried too.

He really looked desperately in each one of her eyes, before a huge smile and clarity came over his face.

"You're awake… aren't you? For real this time. You're… You're here…" he once again spoke as if she wasn't there.

"Emm." she lightly breathed out, watching the fog puff up on her little oxygen mask again. "I'm here…"

He let out a cheerful cry, something she wasn't used to seeing. Sonic with so much emotion…

He thew his arms up and then came down by her side, trying to not squash her in her weakened, still recovering state. But who could blame him? He held what he could and squeezed.

"Amy… You're gonna be alright." he head ducked down and burrowed into her shoulder, as she smiled and held in her delight, mostly because she couldn't move much.

She forced a tried hand up… the medication making it less painful to do so, before lightly patting the side of his head.

"I heard you… calling me… have I ever… not come… before?"

She could feel his heart singing then.

His face grew warm to the touch on her neck.

They continued to lay like that. Him holding her as if not wanting to ever let go again, a child with the single most important thing to him in his arms. She rested their with the truest of angel's smiles.

'So.. that was death?… Huh… I thought it would be ugly.'

'But it was scary.'

She looked down and fiddled lightly with his spikes, calming him and taking deep, relaxing breaths.

Even in death… he saved her life.

What could he do wrong?

Absolutely nothing.

A doctor came in then, and cleared his throat after seeing the touching moment that had lasted far longer than Sonic meant it too.

But he didn't care at that moment, he slowly slipped away from her side, and sat upright by her.

"She woke up." his stare was serious. An actor trying to hold in any more emotion.

Her hand had moved, dropping in it's frailty before he caught it like lightning to iron.

She was amazed at his reflex, before his touch turned like the clouds she had once stood above in her hallucination, and quietly… as if secretly… he held her hand behind himself.

"Yes. We were alerted to an increase in stability not long ago. That's why I'm here. To reduce the medication amount and check for further recovery signs." he professionally nodded his head, a courtesy, before walking over to her breathing machine.

"How out-…" she looked up at Sonic, "Was… I?"

His face showed a grave, and she remained silent, looking away, before back to the doctor.

"She's out of the clear… right?" Sonic's voice was trying to muster as much of a stable tone as he could…

But Amy heard the quiver.

She heard the slight, painful holding back of his emotions again.

The doctor remained silent.

Sonic bent his head down, impatient.

His jaw gritted his teeth up against each other…

His hold on her tightened like a rapping snake…

She watched her hand become overpowered in his snare… but it comforted her… somewhat.

He really had thought-…

"My apologies." The doctor got himself up from checking the cord under the bed and then dusted his hands off. "Her vitals look well enough. But by standards, she's really should stay overnight."

Sonic's eyes looked down, not liking to hear she wasn't- fully -able to go home just yet.

Amy watched his eyes… suddenly unable to read them.

She turned her sore neck at the sound of the door closing, before hearing the crunching of wooden boards from her bed as Sonic laid down by her side again, and placed an arm over her.

"Shame." he commented.

She mostly focused on breathing now… it was a bad judgement call to have kept turning her neck left and right.

"…I would have gotten you ice cream." he spoke up.

She couldn't help but smile.

"You hate cold treats." she commented, unable to move her neck as she could feel the straining had tightened the muscles. One more move and she would be locked in a cramp on her throat.

"…Not all the time."

She felt his head move closer…

She closed her eyes, trying to listen to his heart beat again…

It was comforting… though wildly off tempo from her own.

He suddenly pulled her slightly closer, ducking his head down in the crook of her neck again, where her shoulder supported the rest of his massive head.

"…Are you feeling my heart too?"

She remained silent, but mostly because for a second there, she thought he could read minds.

Had he jumped into her fading dreams to save her?

"Heh. I figured. Cause I'm trying really hard to hear yours."

Amy suddenly felt a frightful tear at the corner of her lower eye.

"…It… almost wasn't there."

His voice grew grave again, and all she longed for was the silliness of the man she desperately wanted to be happy.

If he was cheerful, she could be at ease too.

But he seemed a little loss in his emotions… perhaps he couldn't help but sound slightly depressing.

"It was too close."

She couldn't take it anymore.

"Something…" she suddenly heard the strain in her throat now, but as she swallowed hard, she realized it wasn't the threat of cramping anymore that made it crack.

"Something cheery." she finally got out.

His head lifted up slightly, before a light smile pierced the thick clouds of gloom that had overtaken him… and then, he flopped it lightly back down by her side.

"…I saved a planet of aliens again." he retorted, as if he really didn't want to talk about it, but was just trying to give her that quiet request.

"R-really?" she felt her consciousness slipping, as little indicators on machines started showing her falling into weary sleep.

He couldn't read the passing lines, and continued.

"Yeah. Dinosaur looking creatures… black tar… and a very unpleasant smell."

She thought she could feel his nose taking in her own scent for a moment, as if he was pleased he could.

Maybe he didn't know she could feel it.

"Sounds…" she was fading for a second, but she knew this time, it was simply from lack of restful sleep. "Adventurous…"

"Emm.. it was okay." he shrugged, before looking up at the monitors, and glaring at their signs. "What does that mean…" he grew cautious, about to get out of the bed and check it out.

"Please… wait…" her eyes were already closed, and he stopped himself to look back at her, already upright.

"…I… heard you…" she repeated.

"…." he just stared.

She started to softly breath normally, falling into a perfectly natural sleep cycle.

But as she did so, he once more leaned over her being, and lightly let the middle of his muzzle… graze against the side of her face.

"…" he took a breath in, "Goodnight… Amy."

He could finally say that… knowing she'd wake up again…

This time.
