One hour earlier:

"Sasuke-kun," the patriarchs' wife's soft, melodic voice reached his eardrums from the other room. Sasuke was seated at the Uchiha's dining room table, while reading a mission's scroll, when he heard her and he lifted his head slightly in the general direction from which she had just called out to him; in order for his young wife to be able to properly hear his low, though very distracted, response as his mismatched gaze remained on the document in front of him.

"What is it, Sakura?" His sharp hearing picked up on the sounds of some slight shuffling from the room that his wife was currently occupying... which was then followed by a small thump. After a softly spoken string of curse words, that came from the pinkette soon after as Sakura began to clean up whatever it was, she had just knocked over, Sasuke couldn't stop his lips from pulling up into a soft smirk. It was a rare thing to hear his lover curse, outside of the bedroom that is, and the man found it quite amusing to say the least. However, what he didn't find amusing (and what wiped the smirk off his lips almost instantly) was her response to his question.

"We have to go shopping after we eat a quick breakfast." Sasuke Uchiha loathed anything to do with shopping, no matter what it was for. His thin lips pulled downwards further as he finally dragged his gaze away from the document to stare blankly at the empty doorway that led out into the hallway; contemplating if he wanted to go to her or not. Luckily for him though he didn't have to make that decision because within a few seconds after he had this thought, in walked his wife; wearing one of his old t-shirts, that reached down to her knees, and a pair of soft and fluffy looking slippers that matched the soft pink color of her hair. The matriarch smiled warmly at him in greeting as she came to his side; leaning down to give him a quick peck on the cheek before making her way to the stove. His eyes never left her backside as she began to work on fixing their breakfast.

"...for what," he finally decided to ask and a tiny amount of dread began to fill the empty pit in his stomach while he waited anxiously for his wife's reply.

She continued to stir the eggs before dumping them out and onto a couple plates; her hands then reached to grab a few pieces of raw bacon before throwing them onto the hot skillet. "Little Meisuke and Meikura need a new place to live; the other one that we have for them is simply too tiny."

Sasuke sighed as he shook his head. "Sakura... they don't need..."

But Sakura completely ignored his protest as she placed his plate in front of him before taking the seat across from his. His wife's viridescent eyes twinkled brightly as she continued. "I want to get them a two story. I feel like the single story is just too small for them. So, we will go once we get done eating, okay?"

Sasuke sighed again; knowing there was no point in arguing with this... annoying woman of his. He stared into her expectant gaze with his black and purple orbs; his expression softening drastically. 'There's absolutely no point in arguing because deep down... I know that I don't want to. I want to make Sakura happy, no matter what.' With his decision now made, Sasuke took a small bite of his eggs before responding with a simple grunt; he knew his wife would understand the meaning of it... she always had.

"Hn."

Present...

Exactly two hours later, the Uchiha patriarch found himself wander up and down the aisles of a quaint little toy shop; following behind his pink-haired wife as she perused all of the doll houses with a curious, though precise, gaze. "Sasuke-kun, I don't really like that one," she said with as her plump lips pulled her feminine features into a soft scowl; her long digit pointed at the two-story dollhouse she had been standing in front of for nearly five whole minutes; examining its intricate details with a sharp eye. Sasuke rolled his dark orbs, but otherwise stood stoically by her side; trying to be patient as his wife took her time.

"Hn," was his simple response; it had been his reply the last four times that she had said the same exact thing...

Sasuke already knew how his wife felt about that specific dollhouse for she had already mentioned something about it... twice (at least) since they had first arrived at the store. He brought his lone hand up and began to rub at his temples; feeling the beginnings of a migraine coming on. He then let his hand fall back to his side; his eyes zeroing in on the small figures who were clinging to both of his wife's shoulders tightly. The pair were also inspecting the homes with great interest; small, soft grunts of both pleasure and disdain leaving their plush lips as they found things that they liked and didn't like about each one.

Sakura tilted her head slightly to one side as her green gaze moved up and down the long rows of both one- and two-story homes. She finally placed one of her hands on her hip as she turned to give him a stern look. "I think I like the blue and pink house the best; but it's still just a one story..."

"Then look at the other ones, Sakura." The man was becoming somewhat exasperated as time went by slowly; and his resolve to remain patient with his wife, allowing her to take her time, was slowly beginning to slip from his grasp. Sasuke hadn't exactly been in the mood to go shopping in the first place; he didn't want to be out and about right now... he would have preferred to be out at the training grounds instead, if he was being honest. But as always, he was never able to say no to his wife... and so he found himself glancing at all of their options; one by one, as he tried to speed their little shopping trip along; until his gaze settled on one that had initially piqued his interest.

It had darkly colored, red walls...

... with pristine, white windows.

Its small, slanted roof was covered in dark, black shingles with a bright white trim around the edges...

... and... it was two stories.

"What about that one?" The dark-haired Uchiha nodded his head to indicate which one he was referring to and watched silently as Sakura took in the sight of it. His wife moved until she was standing in front of the large dollhouse; gazing upon it with a thoughtful expression.

It has charm, he thought, and it was big enough for her liking... but she still seemed to be unsure. "Isn't it a little to... dark? I mean, I think that the white is bright enough, but the dark red and the black paints are..."

"Hn," he interrupted her as he leaned into her personal space slightly. "We can always repaint it, Sakura."

"But... will the furniture we just bought for them go with the interior of this house?" He thought she was thinking too much into this, but again... Sasuke didn't want to fight with Sakura; and so, he came up with a solution that he thought she might be happy with; more so to be done with the shopping trip than anything else.

"Tsk. We can buy them new stuff later." Sasuke watched as Sakura thought this over, but felt she was going to try and protest yet again... and his temple began to throb painfully as his dark gaze shifted to the dolls; who seemed to be looking at the two of them with expectant expressions. He sighed in irritation as his orbs shifted back to Sakura's.

"But... Sasuke-kun..."

"Sakura," she stopped mid-protest; her green eyes bright as she stared at him pointedly. "Why not let them decide then."

"...that's... true." The pinkette moved to the door of the house that he had chosen, before opening it at the same time that she reached up to grasp onto the stuffed dolls; placing them in front of the opening. Sasuke watched as both Meisuke and Meikura grasped each other's hands before they took their first steps into the two-story home; the pair taking the time to explore each and every single nook and cranny that they possibly could, taking several minutes to themselves, before exiting once more. Meisuke remained stoic, just like his human counterpart, while Meikura stared up at the pair with a widened grin. "So," Sakura began as she shifted on her feet, "... do you guys like it?"

Meisuke and Meikura exchanged a look between them before glancing up at the Uchiha's; nodding their heads in the affirmative. Sakura gave them a warm smile before swiftly picking them up and then placing them back onto her shoulders. "I'll go talk to the cashier then, Sasuke-kun and we can..."

"How about I do that part while you all go and look for a few pieces of furniture or something." He didn't want his wife to have to deal with the odd glances and curious questions that would surely come at her if she happened to walk up to the checkout with the dolls standing on top of her shoulders... as if it was just a normal thing to see; which obviously it wasn't. Sakura didn't pick up on Sasuke's reasoning behind his statement and instead gave him a warm, vibrant smile instead as she stood on her toes to give her husband a quick peck on his chin to show her appreciation.

"Sounds good to me Sasuke-kun. I will see you soon then." He watched her walk away; his gaze watching as she began to chat excitedly with the little versions of themselves. He shook his head before turning to make his way to the counter.

After they made it back home, he helped Sakura remove the old dollhouse before replacing it with the new one. Sasuke sat on the sofa in their living room, intent on finishing his reading on the scroll from this morning while his wife sat on the floor, cross-legged, across from his position (in front of the dollhouse) as she helped little Meikura place their new furniture in their proper place. Meisuke was sitting to the side on the coffee table; silently observing his partner as she worked diligently to fix up their new place.

Sasuke shook his head slowly as he returned his attention to the papers in his lap; though, he was slightly curious to see what future shenanigans they would be getting up to with their small counterparts.
