Zoro takes a breath. He was so tense at first but now he isn't. He was also curious. "I'm going to go look around. I'll back." Zoro says. He gets up and starts looking at everything. If he only was a few years younger maybe this could have been what he grew up with.
He wasn't much for regret but that must be what he's feeling now. Things would have been so different if he was younger. It would have been better. But it wouldn't have been. He wouldn't have meet the others if he was younger. He and the cook would have never meet. Megumi would never have been born. He might not even be as happy as he is right now.
He really is happy. He's got his friends back. He has Megumi. Sanji too. Zeff is there too. Granny Cindy. Tisha. Honey. Though he doesn't see them a lot, they are still there. He's got so many people in his life, who knows if he would still have them if something like his age is changed.
Zoro looked around as he heard giggling. It didn't sound like Megumi's or Sanji's. He followed the noise until he found two boys squatting like a bunch of delinquents. Zoro recognized those weird haircuts and suspicious smiles. That smile usual means they are causing trouble. Some things never change.
"You better not be causing trouble." Zoro warns. Both freeze, stopping what they were doing. Slowly they raise their head and see Zoro standing there looking at them, analyzing them.
Their faces pale. That's one face they ever thought they'd see again. Without spending even a second more there in front of the demon they grew up with they ran to mama.
"HE'S BACK!" One of them yells.
"HE'S COME BACK FROM THE DEAD!" The other one yells. Sanji and Megumi look up from drinking their water at the two boys who came in running and yelling, looking like they saw a ghost.
"He's back to haunt us mama!"
"What are we going to do!" They both shout, one shaking mama as she stood their trying to cook. The other one was on his knees holding his head like he was hit, like there was some phantom pain.
Megumi tugs on her father's shirt. He leans closer to her. "Daddy, there's more Usopps." She says. Sanji starts laughing. they sure are acting like him. He never thought anyone besides Usopp would act like that, Chopper does when he gets riled up, by none other than Usopp but still. One of the boys stops his hysterics and looks over at Megumi, having heard them talking. It takes a while but her features register in his mind.
"No! Zoro's multiplying!" He shouts scooting away from them. The other boy looks over and falls to his knees, letting mama cook.
"There's another Zoro." He says under his breath.
"Micheal! Hoicheal!" Sanji and Megumi turns to a group of kids, well Sanji says kids but they seem like middle and high schoolers. A girl was in front of the group, while there was a large kid holding hands with three kids that seem to be around Megumi's age. "You didn't help like you said you would. You know how long it took to get here?" She asks angry with her arms crossed against her chest.
"That's not a problem. The demon has come to haunt us." One says. They all look at him like he's gone crazy. Though the girl just frowned more.
"I thought it was weird you guys were here before the others." Mama says, frowning at them. "I swear, I can't control you two. The only who could is Zoro." She says. A shiver goes down both of their spines at the name just said.
"Oh? Is that so?" Everyone turns to see Zoro with his arms crossed over his chest. To Sanji and Megumi, his usually soft eyes pointed in a glare made them shiver too. It's been a while since the blonde saw that look. A face that Zoro use to always have. Glaring all the time no matter what, scaring people, unintentionally challenging people. Zoro walks forward and wrapped his arms around both of the necks. Everyone could see their fear, it was radiating off of them. "Do you need one of my... punishment lessons?" He asks in a threatening tone. They just stood there contemplating their choices as Zoro pulled out a chair and sat on it like some mob boss, staring at them like one too. In the blink of an eye they were both on their hands and knees, forehead touching the floor.
"Sorry, oh great Zoro. We have thought about our way and will fix it."
"Oh, really? Then why are we playing this game again for the millionth time?" Zoro asks glaring down at them. Zoro turns away and sighs. "So what did you do this time?" The boys sit up and look at Zoro.
"What? We didn't do anything?" One of the boys says looking away obvious lying. They couldn't be more bad at lying than Luffy.
"So you both weren't giggling like a bunch of first time criminals counting... what was it?" Zoro looks up pretending to think. Zoro looks down at them. "Money?" Everyone saw them shiver.
"We got it from some..." he mutters the last bit quietly. He looked at Zoro's face and started to sweat. "We may have mugged a small kid we saw on the street!" He shouts as fast as he can.
"You did what?" Zoro asks. The air got cold as Zoro's face twist into something more sinister. One of the many reasons why he's called the demon, his face. Just a look from his glare can send someone running, the way his gaze was ice cold and dark, his grin sinister and threatening. It didn't help that the air around him was also dark.
"Michael and Hoichael how could you!" Mama shouts. Even she starting glaring at them.
"What are you going to do?" They asks Zoro.
"Nothing. That's up to mama." Zoro says pointing at her. She holds her hand out, palm up. They look at it then at her.
"Give me the money you stole." She demands. Both boys rummage in their pockets and pull out a bunch of crumpled up cash. They set it on her hand. Then she switches hands demanding the rest. Which they give up. As she counts the money she speaks, "Akihiro, can you please find the people they stole it from?" When she finishes counting she looks at the boy who just gives her a nod.
That seems to have broken the silence of them seeing someone they grew up with back. He's back. He's here.
"Zoro!" They all shouts, bags are dropped as they go running into Zoro. Everyone gathering to give him a hug.
Sanji noticed that it was all the older kids. The three younger ones, the ones around Megumi's age were left standing there confused.
Zoro's eyes soften again. "It's been a long time." He says to them.
