The beginnings of a new life
Chapter 115th
Doctor Taft walked down to the nurse's station asking for an update on Shannon Anderson's chart. Supervisor nurse Andrea Nugget had taken it out of the slot with a number of notes inside for when it comes to the Cell Regeneration program.
"Thank you," he said when the nurse said the following.
"She had guests, doctor. It's Special Agent Gibbs and his wife Loreile." she said with the doctor waving thanks. He smiled at the thought of having Gibbs in a room with his first wife and his fifth hopefully to be his last. It has to be ironic for the most part as he walked up to the door hearing laugher inside. He knocked once before moving inside.
"Hello, Doctor Taft I was beginning to wonder about you?" Shannon had to say with Gibbs and Loreile chuckling.
"I had an emergency with an older man having a heart attack needing a four-hour value replacement. And to say that I am very pleased to see all three of you!" he announced.
"Bull!" Gibbs said with Shannon telling him to behave. "Anyway any additional info on the procedure?" Gibbs needed to ask.
"I thought Alex was supposed to be asking the questions as with Shannon?" Taft said in a corny way with his comment.
"My husband called to tell me that he will be here really soon after picking up dinner with Chinese food instead of the god-awful hospital food," she states with a smile and a slight grimace in her chest.
"Are you alright Shannon?" Taft came over to check her out.
"Just some pain to have me needing to catch my breath and I had my medication five hours ago doctor," she responded with Taft needing to update the medication before going to sleep this evening. "I will page for a nurse to come here to update your pain medication." He walked over to the intercom to have the nurse's station answer.
"Nurses station how can we help you?" One of the four main nurses at the station.
"I need to raise the patient's pain medication to 800 mg," he ordered.
"Right away Doctor Taft." the nurse had to say over the intercom.
"Thank you," he said to turn and face Shannon. "This should help you, Shannon, for now, and during the night in order for you to sleep," he says.
"Let's hope so Doctor Taft." Gibbs needed to put in his two-cent onto the subject. "And besides we have been here way too long and Shannon needs to rest. We will be back tomorrow for your procedure Shannon."
"Thank you, guys, for coming nevertheless. Now all I need now is the pain medication and the Chinese food?" she commented with a hint of a smile.
Once Shannon was alone. Alex arrived finally with the Chinese food. Though she was feeling better now with the medication.
"How did the visit go with Gibbs and Loreile?" he asked with having to be cautious.
"There seem to be some type of stress between the both of them," she said with taking the items out of the three bags.
"Do you think it has anything to do with you for the most part Shannon?"
"Differently Alex! I have a feeling that Loreile feels like her life has changed now that I had arrived here with you. Kelly and James? Hopefully, once this entire episode is over with that we can head back to California and our own lives?"
"We can blame that on Kelly for putting us into this position and Gibbs is finding out that his own wife is feeling insecure?" Alex needed to say on the subject by opening his pork fried rice container.
After leaving the hospital.
Gibbs called Madeline to let her know that they were going to stop off at the beach to talk. "How are the boys?" he had asked with the importance of the question.
"Phineas is here keeping them busy with the project of WORLD WAR TWO. Even Nathan was thrilled with the idea of building a small war field with the Battle of the Bugle."
"Interesting! We will probably be late coming home along with stopping off at the diner as well?" Gibbs said with Loreile giving an expression that he wasn't liking at all.
"No problem Jethro. I will be sure that Phineas will be keeping them plenty busy before tiring them out. Have fun at the beach?" she said before hanging up with working on her laptop.
Loreile said the following. "What the hell do you think you're doing Jethro?" she said with anger in her demeanor.
"When we get to the beach Loreile we will talk. But for now, we are heading there." he cried out with telling her to get inside the truck without not helping her this time.
"Fine." she was beginning to stream with her anger building from her gut just like her husband's gut.
TWENTY MINUTES LATER
There was no one around the area for where they had their first date and evening together on the beach.
She had gotten out of the truck. When Gibbs came around to push her into the door taking her hard into an embrace to kiss her with his emotions building.
She wasn't able to break away from him with his strength. Even though she could always punch or knee him into his stomach or groin area. But instead, she fell into the kiss wishing not to fight. But she needed to find out what the hell was going on.
When they broke the kiss. He asked her the following..."Loreile do you love me at all?" he was serious with the question.
"Of course I love you, Jethro. Why are you asking this?"
"Because I need for you to trust me for when it comes to Shannon. She needs support when it comes to breast cancer and the cell regeneration program. I don't plan on breaking up her marriage with Alex. When in fact Alex loves Shannon a great deal and he is sick and tires of cancer that is destroying their marriage."
